Woolworths Checkout operator

Last Sunday 12/01/20, Lavington store North Albury I was rudely spoken to by a checkout operator, as I have an injury to my arm I was finding it difficult to place the soft drink bottle on the counter near the till, she decided to tap the counter several times saying here, here not where I was placing the bottles, then when she rung up the total just told me in an abrupt manner $5.43, no please or anything. Please teach your younger staff a few manners. Thank you

Mrs Valerie Dent

Woolworths Linda mccartney sausages

Hi, tonight I cooked 3 Linda McCartney's vegetarian red onion and rosemary sausages. Best before date AUG 2020 (501.9. 18:42) with barcode 5 056053 302283.
One sausage contained what appears to be a blue coloured paper type product.

Is this likely to be something harmful if eaten? My wife ate 2 sausages plus part of this sausage before discovering to foreign material.
For now I will freeze and retain the sausage and materials.

Woolworths Meat

Last night i did my grocery shopping at the Booval store, i purchased 2x pack of chicken thighs. I got home to cook my chicken only to discover the chicken was rotten.
I paid full price it was not on sale.

I wasn't happy, as I now need to go buy dinner to feed the family and need to try and get the smell out of my house.

I frozen the chicken so I could return it to the store today.

Today, I refurned the chicken and received back what I paid for the items. I found the staff response quite poor, so I then entered the store myself to ensure there were no more on the shelf.
Much to my surprise there was. I advised the person in the meat section and showed him the rotten chicken on the shelf (green). He agreed then removed it from the shelf.

I really think you need change packaging or increase monitoring.
Someone could end up seriously ill.

Woolworths Credit and handy cards declined

On Tuesday 7 January 2020 my credit card was declined. Luckily, I had some cash in the wallet. After paying for the items I went to Westpac, where the credit card was OK. Funny it did not work at Woolies in Manjimup.
Then today (10 January 2020) at about 9.45am Woolies in Manjimup declined a credit card and a handy card. I got a new Hany card on Wedes and so I tried it the Westpac outside machine and it worked fine but not at Woolies. Why.
After Woolies declined 2 of my cards, I went to Dunnings where the Hany card worked well and I got some fuel! After that I went to West[ac Manjimup where I told the cashier the story and what happened to me at Woolworths, Manjimup. According to trhe cashier maybe the Woolies terminals do not connect correctly.
My credit card has more than $10, 000 and Handy Card account has more than $7000 to draw from. So it seems strange that all the problems relate to Woolworths, Majimup. I was embarrassed to say the least when one card and then both cards were declined!

Woolworths Service

I have been shopping at Woolworth Beldon WA for over 20 years and have found the staff very courteous and friendly but at the moment there is a front end controller who is not very friendly her name is Myrna and she has been there for about 3 months. She does not have the manners or people skills at all. She is giving off signs to lot of customers and they are not very happy I know that there has been a lot of complaints and talk about how it has changed and that the staff are coping the back lash from customers. It is such a shame as this has been a very nice place to shop at. The staff were always smiling and very friendly but it has changed. It makes a lot of difference when staff recognize you and and ask how you are so please do something about this for you staff and customers who been shopping with you for years
Thank you
Diane Corbett

Woolworths Service was very appalling

On the 8th of January 2020, I headed into Woolworths in Westlands Whyalla South Australia at about 7:30 headed to the Deli. Asked politely if the woman working could slice me some meat that was not on show. The worker then says she can't slice me it and begins to rudely say she doesn't have enough time and she is the only one on, in the end she decided she was going to slice me meat after making me feel very uncomfortable about the situation. I decided I wasn't going to be treated in this manner and told her not to worry about slicing the meat (because you could tell she didn't want to anyway) I then decided to shop at Coles. I found her behaviour very disappointing as I work in a different Woolworths store myself and I would always go out of my way to serve and assist my customers. This older lady was the only one in the deli department at the time. I wouldn't usually put a complaint forward but when it is the second time with a similar incident with the same lady I thought this wasn't acceptable. Last time I ask for meat and she said there was none out the back already sliced, and she didn't want to cut any so she said she had none.

Woolworths Fresh fruit and veg

Woolworths calls them selfs the fresh food people? The store in Delacombe Town Centre Ballarat is an absolute disgrace, The suppose called fresh produce is disgusting, not fit for consumption, either there is hardly any thing out or when it is it is rotten, This store needs to be looked at as soon as possible, it is in great location, but I k ow have to travel longer, to get fresh fruit and vegetables from a non Woolworths store, all I hope from this, is rapid improvements, and for some one to actually take a look at what is being sold in this store, not good enough 😡

Woolworths Treatment of child

Alice Springs Woolworths on Saturday, 3/1/2020, late afternoon, when 1 staff member chased a teen boy and a young girl this lead to manager and another staff member assisting. The 2 kids were only getting a trolley when the manager had a go at the girl (9 years old approx) for not having shoes on, she had socks on, and sent her ALONE out of the store. With NO discussion with her family and since when do you have to wear shoes?
I have been to Woolworths in many places throughout Australia and have NEVER since such disregard for a childs safety. As for NO shoes what a load of rubbish. On the Gold Coast a majority of people don't wear shoes.
I feel this was just an attempt ot save face by the manager instead of being nice and apologising for a little confusion.

Woolworths Homestyle family potato and beef pie

I dropped in to my local woolworths after work to buy a family size potato top pie, as there were none available I purchased the next best thing a beef and potato pie.
Well when I sliced it to serve I was shocked to see that the filling was 99% potato!
Where the heck was the beef?
I could have just made mashed potato for dinner and saved my money. Very disappointing and did not have a happy family at the dinner table.
Pic below is loaded upside down for.some reason but u can see the thin line of what looks like meat brushed on the pastry base.

Woolworths Staff member

I have shopped at Woolworths Mernda store for 6 years now
The staff have always been fantastic except 1 member today.
Taylah her name was.
She was called over to help me at the self checkout.
My shopping came to $54.30
I put in $4.30 and a $50 note
But the computer still said I owe $3
So I asked her if she could get out the coins I put in as I counted them out as I put them in and know I'd put the whole lot in.
She said, no you didn't you still need $3
I said yes it says that but the girl here another staff member just watched me redo it, put another $3 even though I already had and it is still saying I owe $3 again.
She insisted I hadn't and myself and the staff were wrong.
I said I've already put more than I owe I'm not putting anymore in can you please just check it.
She said "I really don't care this is last day so just go"
I was horrified.
Not only had I put the $54.30 I did owe in but also another $3 in front of a staff member.
When I told her this is ridiculous, you can't just brush me off and tell me to go,
I have money in there and need my shopping she said Well take your shopping I don't care this my last day but I can't give you a receipt because it's not paid in full.
We both began raising our voices she pressed cancel transaction took my cash from the checkout and walked away.
I said to the other staff member what am I supposed to do know, she said I seen you pay, just take your shopping and go.
So I did, but I am now at of pocket, plus I can only assume that Taylor the supervisor took the money I did put in the machine.
I scanned my rewards card got $10 off it said but because she canceled my transaction I don't believe that went through so I'm actually out $13 now and an extremely bad experience at Woolworths.
I was so embarrassed
I live in the area, know people and was made to look ridiculous in the store.
It may be her last day, but you are still paying her to provide customer service, which she clearly did not do.
Very unhappy customer.
Maxine Dessmann
My reward card, so you can check if my transaction went through [protected]
I hope I can at least get my $13 back I understand the staff member is leaving so no action can be taken there.

Woolworths Overcharging for chicken after being told 2 days previously the price was incorrect

Two days ago I went thru self serve and realised the chicken drumsticks were charged at $4 a kilo. I just wanted to be charged the right price so I got them to do a price check. They came back after checking the price, got my chicken and took it away to get corrected. I then paid for it and headed home. Today, two days later I purchased 2 more kilos of chicken drumsticks and was charged again, the higher price. For two days this has been charging people nearly 25% more. Not just wasting my time but ripping everybody off. I did speak to the manager in the deli about this and was told that one of the scales is charging wrong and the regular staff know not to use these for drumsticks, I got a new girl but she would turn the scales off now so it can update and reboot. I then got given the difference in the amount I paid and the correct amount that should have been charged. I would just like to not waste my time, charge me right
And fix mistakes immediately, this is beyond acceptable.

Woolworths Beecroft nsw butchery

Date: 3 January 2020

Today I needed a rack of lamb. I was told the only person who could cut a rack of lamb was at lunch so I would have to wait 45 minutes.
This is not the first issue I've had with Woolworths Beecroft meat section.
Previously I've had prepackaged veal that is absolute rubbish and diced lamb was not available on another occasion.

I spoke with Chris, the manage, who came across as if he "couldn't care less" and told me the only option was to wait until the butcher returned from lunch. Well rest assured I left my half full shopping trolley with Chris and drove to the next suburb, Pennant Hills, and did my shopping there.

Shortly after Woolworths opened in Beecroft the village butcher went out of business. A butcher who gave great service and always had what we needed.

Woolworths has had plenty of time to get the meat section right and has failed completely.

I would be very surprised if Woolworths responds at all to my complaint.

Regards
Tim Earnshaw

Woolworths Availability of roast chicken

My partner & I arrived at your prospect store at 6.40 pm to pick up a roast chicken for our dinner. The hot food stand was empty as were the rotisseries. A female staff member approached my partner to ask if he was waiting for a chicken. His response was, yes. Her response was, we don't have any & we're not cooking anymore. My partner asked what time the store closes, to which we were told 10 pm. She said we are on a reduction planner.
How can you reduce from nothing?
We then went to the front counter to ask for a manager. They were not available so he called for someone, he arrived & said he doesn't work in that section & would have to ask that section?
As we were not getting any response, reasonable excuse or answers, we left in frustration.
Hence this feedback form.
This is not the first this has happened at this store. This is the third time!
My partner spoke to the manager last time who assured us that it would not happen again, if it did, he would ensure we receive a free chicken. Too bad it's not for dinner tonight, hey?

We want to be contacted about this asap.

Woolworths Pork sausages

Dear woolworths, what have you done to your pork sausages? They used to be a lovely product, but you have changed the recipe they are now flavourless and full of water so they spit when poped into the frying pan the skins are not the same either they dont brown up properly coz of the water content and the poor quality skins, I ask myself why you would do such a thing and the only conclusion I can come up with is that you are trying to cut your costs to make a larger profit for your ceo and your share holders of which I am one. I would prefer to have a good quality product over the inferior piece of rubbish you are selling now. Please go back to your original recipe and you will make a lot of your customer/shareholders happy

Woolworths Customer service - rude

To whom it may concern, I'm writing to inform of a disappointing customer experience in Woolworths Raymond Terrace today at around 11:30am. At the self service checkout, the supervising staff member "Tara" was exceptionally rude with absolutely no provocation from myself or my partner. After correcting my purchase silently and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere, Tara then took away the basket my partner was using before he was finished with the items he was scanning. At this point, I was finished scanning my items and had paid, holding handfuls of items waiting for my partner to finish his transaction. Due to this, not wanting to drop anything before he could buy a bag, I went to grab a basket for the interim where I was met with a hostile "you can't have a basket". Taken aback, I agreed and apologised. My partner, not so easily bullied, questioned this as he has been employed at this Woolworths and was dismayed at this abhorrent level of customer service. Tara spoke in a smug, argumentative tone, telling him "you'll have to buy a bag then" at which point we grabbed a trolley and left. Disappointed, I walked back into the store to ask Tara's name to complain about the unnecessary humiliation she had just put us both through with her horrific attitude towards customer service, only to have her laugh as I walked away to complain. Lining up at another counter to give feedback, I was met with more hostility and nonchalance from Jackie Cox, in a supposed "customer service" centred role. While I understand that baskets are not to be taken from the store, this was not my intention and being treated like a criminal in such a sarcastic, smug way was completely unnecessary and tasteless. Simple human kindness and a basic level of respect would have sufficed. I left disappointed, angry and embarrassed and will find it exceptionally hard to shop at this Woolworths again in future. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and appropriate action taken on reprimanding the employees that did not display the ethos of Woolworths in any way.

Woolworths Incorrect charging for purchase of prawns

1. We pre-ordered 5 kg of large tiger prawns and collected the order on 24 December 2019 at Woolworths Booval Qld. The order was provided to us in 2 packages. One was basically in a plastic tub which appeared to be pre-packaged from a supplier in Cardwell and indicated a net weight of 4 kg and the other was wrapped up in a plastic bag with a weight of about 1 kg. Attached are photos Pic 1 and Pic 2 of the bar coded price stickers for both packages and a scan of the purchase receipt.

2. It was not until we started peeling the prawns that night that we realised the prawns did not appear to be generally large prawns as designated on the label. In fact there were a few that were almost not worth peeling. That is our first complaint. We have attached a photo Pic 3 of a handful of prawns that we laid out showing size comparisons.

3. The next complaint relates to what we received in weight measure with the plastic tub. The supplier's label shows a net weight of 4 Kg of prawns. However, by the Woolworths bar coded price sticker we have been charged for 4.98 Kg of prawns. After removing the prawns for peeling, we weighed the tub and what was left in the tub, which was an amount of water. That weighed 1.3 Kg. Essentially, we only received 3.68 Kg of prawns from the plastic tub. Photos Pic 4 and Pic 5 attached.

4. We would like our complaint addressed by the reimbursement of the difference between what we paid for and what we really received in weight measure for the contents of the plastic tub. It seems that had we have bought them from the display case, there would have been a better outcome for the pricing and we think prawn size.

5. As far as the prawn quality, they were quite satisfactory but we were just disappointed about the size.

from Jan and Christopher White
