Fraudulent charges
My husband, a long distance truck driver, had an emergency at a rest area in the mountains of West Virginia. There was a pay phone with NO signage on the phone. He used his Capital One card to call long distance for 30 seconds -- only long enough to give me a call back number. We got billed $16. This is illegal. This company has dozens of complaint...

Today, 4/21/2014, I received a a bill in the amount of $31.21 for a collect call made to my home phone. I have all my calls recorded online @ comcast.net. There was no record of this call being made to my home phone on my call log. I never accept any collect calls from anyone for any reason. They claim the call was made on 3/11/2014 at 7:14am. My call record log had a call at 7:13am and 7:58am. I can provide proof of this fact. I did not accept this so called collect call, and I don't feel that I should be responsible for this bill. This is a straight up telephone scam by this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Crazy fees for call
I used a collect call when talked to my wife in a Chevron station, but nobody told that it will be more than $13 per minute. I talked about three minutes and paid $40 for it. What a joke!
This company does this at pay phones all over the country.They never post rates as they know if they admitted they charged $40 for 3 minutes no one would use their service. cost of call
On 12/29/11, I accepted a emergency collect call from a friend in the same city I live in. Yesterday I received my At & t phone bill with the collect call charges from Wimactel for $30.76 for a 3 minute call. I think this is an outrageous charge for this call! I called Wimactel and they stated that a collect call, even in the same town, can cost anywhere from $15-$60. I think the cost should be stated upfront before you accept such a call.

I am wondering the same thing. Is this a scam.? My brother called me from AZ, collect in May 2014, Just received separate bill too, not on my regular phone bill yesterday for $48.63, says we talked for 15 minutes. Plus it came in my mothers name who has been dead for 3 years. RED FLAG to me, our phone bill at home doesn't come in my moms name. Seems weird! Called them twice, during business hours. Keep getting voice message asking me to leave my information and they will call me back.
My son called me collect 1 month ago from a pay phone. I just received a bill from WiMac today June 6, 2014 in the mail.
I am in shock $29.20, they say we were on the phone for 3 minutes, I was not on the phone for even a minute as my son was in an accident, i was not on line for more than 60 seconds due to the emergency. Is this a scam? This is not even on my Verizon bill.
