They got me. I was on my computer with my internet browser window open. Suddenly I get this warning window that will NOT go away. It then starts to list about 20 trojans and worms that have "suddenly" infected my computer.

I can't close the darn thing. It keeps popping up, disabling all of my other open applications. The warnings look very legitimate so I finally (in a panic because my LIFE is on my computer) order the product to remove all these apparent viruses. My debit card was charged $49.95 and guess what? NONE OF THE FREAKING VIRUSES EXISTED. It wasn't until I PAID that I could finally get my system running again without those warning boxes appearing over and over - and my SYSTEM WAS CLEAN TO BEGIN WITH. HOW ON EARTH CAN 20 TROJANS SUDDENLY APPEAR?

THIS IS MISLEADING. I DID NOT HAVE 20 TROJANS. I DID NOT HAVE FIVE WORMS. I DID NOT HAVE 10 SPYWARE APPS. THOSE CLAIMS WERE FALSE, THEREFORE, THIS COMPANY BELONGS ON THIS WEB SITE.

Maybe I'm naiive, but I think it is shameful that there will always be vultures that prey on the fear of people. Especially in these hard economic times - I'm struggling just to pay my rent and my fridge is usually bare. Shame on them.

You absolutely need to remove your credit card information, address and e-mail address from this site IMMEDIATELY. You are opening yourself up to identity theft with every passing moment that this information is posted here. Cancel that credit card right now and notify the company you got it from of what has happened and you should be able to get a replacement.

As for your problem, contact the company directly to get your security code re-sent to you. And, next time, remember to keep that code very close-at-hand just for situations like this. If, in fact, "loathsome" is correct and this is a scam, it's not likely that you will get another code and you may have to chalk this one up as a loss - one of those live-and-learn situations if your local legal resources can't help you.

There are many free antivirus solutions available out there including Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG Anti-Virus and others. Google "free anti-virus" to find others and make sure to do your homework and research before using any software program!

This same thing happened to me last Tuesday 02/23/10. I was unable to get a hold of Wideworldsoft so I contacted the issurer of my credit card to start an investigation of fraud on this company. Was told if they can prove fraud my money will be reinstated on my credit card. This can take up to 15 days to resolve, but I felt it was the best way to go .

this happened to us too, funny thing we had just got new computer in December and only a short time after our 30 trial membership was up on the norton we got pop ups that computer infected with a bunch of viruses. charged my card 49.95 plus 1.39 foreign currency fee. Going to call visa tomorrom because i think they have good fraud services and gets your money back. I know mastercard did it for me about five months ago. thank god i used my card and not checking because you can not get money back if you used checking.

I GUESS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE I GOT SUCKERED IN THE SAME WAY. I WAS ON MY COMPUTER AND STARTED RECEIVING ALL THESE POP UPS THAT MY COMPUTER HAD 25 VIRUSES AND I GOT SCARED. AFTER ABOUT 3 DAYS OF THIS I CAVED AND PURCHASED THE SOFTWARE. THE PRICE WAS 49.99 FOR 2 YEARS AND 99.98 WAS DEDUCTED FROM MY CREDIT CARD. I HAVE TRIED A OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO CONTACT THESE PEOPLE AND I COULD NOT GET THROUGH. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM PISSED! IF THIS IS INDEED A SCAM THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED AND NOW!

The same thing just happened to me also. I did the same thing.. had to cancel my account to keep them from charging on it again. I can't find anywhere to call to get this charge reversed. No Receipt or phone number on the charge. I thought it was part of my virus protection. I must say I am pissed!

I cant believe I got sucked into this Nightmare the same as you, mine started last night 2/22/2010..screen invaded with all the scare tactics...then the demand for money to fix it, and just like MAGIC..once they got my credit card number, Bingo..my computer works great, I didn't even have to down load anything...measures need to be taken to bring these guys down. Never again, I'll go to Best Buy or a retail outlet for my future needs.
