Whirlpool side by side refrigerator

I purchased a new Whirlpool side by side refrigerator at Lowe's in July of 04 for around $1000. In March of 09 it quit working. I called for repair, thinking it was the compressor, which was still under warranty. The repairman from A&E said it was only a relay, but it cost me $300 for the service call and an additional 1 year warranty. In Mid March of 2010, my ice maker started producing less ice. I had the freezer really full, so I moved some stuff out of it to a chest freezer. I also turned the the temperature a little cooler. I watched it for a few days, timing the cycles, and it seemed to be working, but maybe not as well as I had thought it used to. Well, the first week in April it quit completely. I called A&E, and explained my whole process of trying everything in the manual before calling them. Sorry sir, but the warranty you purchased expired(one week prior). We can send someone out to diagnose it, for $65, plus the cost to repair it and parts. Well, I live in a very small town, and I knew the repairman only lives 3 houses from me. I went to talk to him, and he wouldn't help me a bit. So much for neighbors, huh? Anyway, I found a troubleshooting site on the net, determined I needed a new ice maker, and ordered one on the net. With 2 day shipping it is $55.00. It is a 15 minute install. Never again Whirlpool or A&E

Whirlpool whirlpool destroyed my home

Do not buy Sears Kenmore/Whirlpool Products. When they damage your home they will not pay claims. All they will do is say it's not their fault. So to save you from having to go through what I have had to experience, just say "No" to their appliances and buy Frigidare, Samsung or any other products. Stay away from these two evil corporations.

To see pictures of the damages - $55, 000 worth visit my facebook page - Damaged Home or send me an email at damaged.[protected]@Hotmail. com

Whirlpool lemon wash machine

We bought this wash machine in March of 08. In August of 09 it quite working completely so I called the company and after 4 service calls they "fixed" it. However, it never would spin the water completely out of the clothes and here we are in April and it will not even operate again! They are willing to send someone out again but we have to pay the labor. Btw - the first service guy we hired said he has never seen a machine this bad and wouldn't work on it. At what point do they admit something is a lemon and provide a new machine!

Bought Whirlpool washer # LSR5132PQ0 3 years ago and have been suffering with it ever since. It will not spin dry. Clothes come out soaking wet,
and you have to wring them out before you can put them in the dryer.

THEY SHOULD MAKE THIS A WRINGER WASHER!
INCLUDE A WASHTUB AND A WRINGER WITH IT!

Had service man out, naturally was totally useless, said I was loading
the clothes wrong. How do you load clothes wrong?
He probably didn't know a washing machine from a ice cream
machine.

NEVER - NEVER - NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL ANYTHING!

Whirlpool abnormal delay & poor service

Beware prospective buyewrs of whirlpool washing machines

Date : 13th april 2010.

Dear consumers,

I purchased a whirlpool white magic deluxe washing machine (Fully automatic)- chassis no. Inb [protected]/34s02 was purchased on 14th dec. 2000. There after for first time I entered with company for on sight service contract no. Hp01103870 which was registered on march 2 2005, thereafter regularly I am renewing the service contract (Amc). Again on 16-12-2007 I got renewed this vide your receipt no. 078923, and latest vide receipt no. 151342 on 12-01-2010.

I am sorry to say that while taking the service contract tall promises were made that regular quarterly checkup will be taken up, calls within next 48 hours will be attended. But since last 4 years not a single promise was kept. Even the calls were also not attended satisfactorily. Every time any service call was made we specifically mentioned on the attending slip about the unsatisfactory service.

On 03rd feb 2010 (Comp. No. 1523) I made a complaint about water leakage and male functioning of some switches. Though the call was attended but neither water leakage problem was fully rectified nor the faulty switches were replaced.

Again for the same problem I lodged complaint on 12th april 2010, a young gentleman attended the complaint but his skill was not good. Instead of rectifying the problem he made the machine unusable and water started overflowing. Further he broke a panel for dispensing the detergent. When I sought help from the dealer from whom I purchased the machine I was told that track record of whirlpool company for providing after sales service is very bad. Even if I appraoch to the company no efforts will be made for resolving the issue.

I paid a hefty sum of rs. 4, 000.00 (Approx.) to keep the machine trouble free, but not for inviting the mental tension. Whirlpool is a company of international repute and it is shameful to cheat the small consumers in such manner.

Even when I tried to give a writted complaint at sheetal electronices, company apponited authorised service centre, the person refused to take the complaint and directed me to go to the local branch/distributor's office in cherlapally. Forcing which I faxed the letter to phone no. [protected] immediately.

But a technician mr. Khalique standing nearby intervened and assured me that he will visit my premises and try to rectify the defect. Though he visited my premises and replaced some defective switches but the leakage problem remained as it is for want of spare parts. He confiremed that due to the breakge of panel holding detergent tray the leakge problem can not be rectified. He said that he will call the head office and request for replacement of defective and broken part.

I recd a phone call today from chennai no. 044-[protected]. A lady enquired about the rectification of complaint. When I told her about the pending defects she also just told me that she will revert back.

I am not sure when the machine will become trouble free.

I request all the buyers of whirlpool home appliances products to think well before

Thanking you.

Yours truly,

(Rampal attal)

Whirlpool unimpaired washing machine

We bought a brand new condo and our machine never worked. So far, we've had a service technician, 2 no-shows, 2 circuit boards replaced, and it still doesn't work. Whirlpool will not replace it until a technician deems it unrepairable. I've already had to call out of work 5 times, spent numerous time on the phone, and money at the cleaners to have our laundry done.

It appears as though we purchased the same washer as you did. We purchased the set and today I found out that the Motor Control Board needs to be replaced at a cost of $365 just for the part! Also, of course, have to pay to have the problem diagnosed, which was today, and for the return service call to have the part put in. It will, most likely total near $500 and this is to repair a washer that is 16 months old! Can you believe that?! I called Whirlpool in the hopes that they would consider paying for the part and it was an absolute "no"! I did not purchase the extended warranty and still, after this, wouldn't really consider an extended warranty since they are so pricey - around $269+. I am now in the market for a new washer but will have a difficult time since Whirlpool makes so many washers. They bought out Maytag so even if Maytag washers are "good" they will still be backed by Whirlpool. Whirlpool also makes appliances for Sears (Kenmore) and others. Today it is off to the laundramat while I ponder my next move - one thing I know for certain is that I will stay clear of Whirlpool appliances because the company does not believe in backing their products - such a shame too since they are based in Michigan, my home state!

Whirlpool whirlpool washer

Have been having trouble with our Whirlpool washer for almost 2 yrs. Practically from day one. Have had servicemen from Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, work on washer and sometimes only give advise. One of the servicemen finally showed us how to reboot unit. Sometimes it takes several times to get it up and working. Whirlpool did extend the warranty once, since the problem had not been resolved.

Following is my email to Whirlpool and their returned comments:
We purchased a Motor Home June 25 2008 and began having problems with our washer soon after purchase, stopping during spin cycle. About the 3rd service call the repair man explained how to reboot the machine. We had machine serviced under warranty in Minden NV, Island Park ID, and Phoenix AZ. Warranty was extended once. We are still experiencing the same problem. It would seem only reasonable that the machine should be replaced after this much aggravation. Not only will it not be replaced, but warranty has been terminated. This after repairs have been to no avail. Very disappointed in product and your company.

Thank you for visiting the Whirlpool web site. We appreciate hearing from you.

We are sorry for the issues you are having with the Whirlpool washer, which is past the manufacturer's warranty. However, because we truly value you as a loyal customer and as a goodwill gesture, we will be pleased to send you any parts needed at 50% off the original cost. Please ask the service company which parts they recommend, then call us at [protected], informing us which parts need to be ordered. We will then reduce the price 50%, and the rest of the cost will be put on a credit card furnished by the consumer.

You are a valued Whirlpool customer and we apologize for any inconvenience this washer concern may have caused.

My response:
To my knowledge, all serviceable parts have been replaced. I cannot see any value in your offer, especially after 8+ service calls. I don't believe my spending time and money on another service call would be to any avail. I will however post on several RV forums your past service and new offer.

Their response:
Thank you for your reply. We apologize that we have not been able to fully meet your expectations.

My response:
I don't believe you have met your obligations, I assumed I was purchasing a product that would work.

We bought a whirlpool DUET front load washer a few years ago. From day 1, when it went in spin cycle, it shook the whole house. Went back to the store and complained. They told us we needed to install foam cushions under the the feet. Still shook. Now the bearings went out on the drum. Called whirlpool, got transferred 3 times until I found out the parts are not available. WHAT? No parts available for a 4 year old machine? I thought a manufacturer was responsible to supply parts on their product for 7 to 10 years? I guess being as big as whirlpool, you can get away with telling your customers, "sorry about your luck" ! I am forced to purchase a new washer, but it will DEFINATELY NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL!

(My posting to whirlpool.com website)

Dear Whirlpool Corporation,

I'm contacting you to let you know that I am very unhappy with the durability and longevity of your washer "Cabrio Automatic Washer" Model # WTW6300SW1, Ser # CT4072078, purchased new in October 2006 from Lowes Home Improvement. It was first repaired in June 2008 when the electronic control board went out. Happily, your company split the cost of this repair even though the warranty had just ended.

However, within the last 9 months, the washer began making a VERY loud noise during the spin cycle. We called a repairman ($60.00 out of pocket) and were advised that the main bearing was bad and the estimated cost of repair was going to be around $450.00. This over half the cost of the washer when we purchased it. This is entirely unacceptable and I expected more from this unit when I purchased it. This unit replaced a Kenmore that had run for over 20 years with not a single repair. Again, I expected this Whirlpool to perform just as long as the Kenmore it replaced. I will not be repairing this washing machine, but will be replacing it with something other than a Whirlpool.

I cannot know if you have had other complaints, but be assured that I will advise my friends and family members not to purchase this brand.

Signed,
Disappointed in Rock Hill SC,

Maybe they've changed manufacturing sites. We recently replaced a Whirlpool top loader to get a front loader (works better on large spreads than an agitator type). The washing machine was still working after about 18 years with two small problems, worn sprag gear in the top agitator and internal rust on the case due to age and clorox. We kept the matching dryer that is still going strong.

Dear 123321 in Des Moines, thanks for your feedback. I didn't ask for nor expect anything from Whirlpool. Simply notifying them and anyone else that read this board of my unhappiness. Warranty or not, my expectations were (and still are) high. If WP can't live up to my expectations, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Whirlpool poor service/warrenty

We purchased a Whirlpool over-the-range microwave in August of 2017 (model # WMH1162XVQ2). In February, it quit heating food. I called warrenty information and they dispatched A&E to services. They did not come with the parts, so they ordered them. The parts never arrived, so I called Whirlpool, and they re-ordered the parts, telling me they would arrive together and to call for service when I got the package. I followed the instructions, and called when the parts arrived. I took another day off of work to meet the repairman only to find the parts that came were not the right parts. It has been a month and a half, and I am waiting once again for parts. When they come, I will need to take a third day off of work to meet the repairman. I told the customer service person it would have been cheaper and faster to just replace the mircrowave rather than dispatch a repairman from 60 miles away three times and annoy a customer with two months with a broken product. She said that was not their policy and, get this, extended my warrenty for 6 months. I told her it was a good thing, because it looks like the original warrenty (which expires in 4 months) won't last long enough for them to fix the first problem.

On the 3rd day of owning my Whirlpool Gold Microwave, it stopped working and gave a code F7-Call for Servicing. I won't go into all the details, but tell you that four months later, I have had people to my house 9 times to try to diagnose/fix the problem. Every electronic part on the microwave has been replaced and they are trying to do a second round of replacing the same parts. The last two times they ordered the replacement part, the wrong part was sent. I am on day 37 without a microwave. The exchange department has denied the request to exchange. Every time I call customer service, they give me the runaround. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again.

I purchased a whirlpool washing machine from big bazaar on jan 26. even after 10+ days and 100s of phone calls & delivery dates, big bazaar has failed to deliver the product to my address. big bazaar sucks. it's a shame how an inefficient organization like big bazaar is still flourishing in 21st century.

Bottomline: never buy a product from big bazaar which needs to be deliverd at your home!

Whirlpool defective unit when brand new

I bought a whirlpool gold refrigerator from Low's late October 2009 and it was delivered a few days later. It worked for first few weeks. Then I took an 3-week vacation and it surprised me when I got home. The refrigerator completely stopped working. All the ice melt and everything inside (pork, chicken, sea food, beef, ...) spoiled. The liquid mixture filled up the bottom of the refrigerator and soaked my hardwood floor in the kitchen. The floor was stained and distorted. The kitchen smelled terrible. I had to throw away all the food and work hard to clean up the huge mess. I was really upset.

I called Low's and they delivered another one of the same model. Now I
don't know how long this one can last. The terrible look and smell of the bad refrigerator surprised the Low's delivery guys and their managers.

I have been contacting whirlpool customer service since the accident by email for last couple of months and they provided no help at all. They basically take no responsibility claiming I did not buy their extended warranty. They seemed really don't care about the customers. "Go and find out what your home owner's insurance will say" is the only answer l got from them.

Whirlpool outrageous charge for service call for job performed

We own a 4-1/2 year old Whirlpool Duet washer, which over the last few months started giving us computer errors indicating lack of power, problems with the door latch or electric control board problems. We searched on the internet possible solutions to the problem, which appeared to be replacing the electric control board under the top cover in the center of the machine. To ensure that our thinking was correct and that there were no other issues, we contacted Whirlpool to discuss the problem, giving Whirlpool the model and serial # for our machine and to refer us to a repair company, hence A&E Repair Service. The technician came to our home without the part, but also DID NOT run a diagnostic to determine the issue(s). We told him what we thought was the problem and that was it! He gave me a price to have the work done and quoted me almost $500.00. I questioned the amount and told him that I knew that the part alone would be $200.00 and how could his service call be $300.00! He then went to his truck to doublecheck his numbers and came back with a $300.00 figure. We decided not to go with him and told him since he didn't have the part, we would look otherwise and do the work ourselves. He contacted a local repair company to find out if they had the part in stock, which they did. Fortunately, the control board was the problem and we did the work. My issue is that he did not run any diagnostic tests to confirm the problem and then charged a service call of $129.00. Outrageous! I will not call this company again. I have found another company that is HALF the cost of this one and are highly recommended.

Whirlpool unreliable

Purchased a Duet Washer/Dryer combo unit THREE years ago. Washer stopped working and had to replace it entirely. It would have cost more to fix it. The thing that gets me upset is that I THOUGHT I was purchasing a reliable, long lasting product since it cost me an arm and a leg! The washer only lasted for three years! I believe that is considered "just broken in". In my opinion, these companies do NOT want products to last for a LONG TIME anymore. Those days are gone. Do your research by word of mouth or go online before purchasing ANYTHING nowadays. The reviews are out there! Listen to what people are saying.

Whirlpool waterheater-flamelock

I needed a new water heater ASAP so i went to Lowes, Madison IN., and purchased a Whirlpool water heater. This particular model says "Flamelock" on it. BEWARE! This is the biggest piece of JUNK, next to the 2010 Chevy Malibu.

From the start the water heater started leaking as the water heated up. Sears was contacted to make the needed repairs. The water heater had EVERY possible part on it replaced. No luck, it kept leaking. So the water heater was replaced with a new one.

The new heater started leaking from the start! Whirlpool was notified AGAIN and they sent Sears out AGAIN! This water heater was also completely reworked. No luck, it kept leaking.

Well through my research I have found that Whirlpool has had numerous complaints and problems with their FLAMELOCK brand water heaters across the country! As it turns out they can only handle 60-65 lbs of water pressure. Most homes are 70-75 lbs of pressure. This extra pressure on the tank causes the water, as it is heated, to leak out the pressure valve.

I have added a pressure reducer, $65-$95, and reduced the water pressure down to 65 lbs. The leak has slowed, at the worst i would dump out approx 1 gallon of water a day, now it is down to about 3-4 cups. By reducing the pressure our shower pressure has suffered!

Whirlpool will not remove the water heater, refund my money and I'm stuck with a piece of junk! I have also had to have the ignitor replaced at 6 months and this too is a common problem with this model!

Moral of this story, DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL!

If there is a constant leak from the T&P valve there may be something else going on. It could be thermal expansion. This is caused during the time the water heater is heating the water. It can cause a build up of pressure in the water heater resulting in the overflow of the T&P valve on the water heater since that is the only place it can relieve the pressure.
Several people are installing a thermal expansion tank to relieve that pressure. It works.

Whirlpool repeated breakdowns

Details of washing machine.

This washing machine was purchased on 22.07.2009 at vivek ltd27/1 balavinayagar kovil street, tuticorin-628002. bill no-3b010901492, dt:22.07.2009
Sir,
From the second month of purchase we were faced 4 breakdowns. though the service is good, we are very much worried on the repeated faults in this new machine/model. faults attended :-he-1, he2 (twice) &f2
Kindly let us know this "sport" model has some inherent problems. repetion of the problems after service warranty will be an unnecessary financial burden on me.
We believed that whirl pool is one of the best in washing machines, this faith is shattered by the above.
Our option is replace the machine with the one which is trouble free.

Whirlpool whirlpool - lost credibility & loosing customer's interest & loyalty

Whirlpool means trust & loyalty for us before but now it does mean poor quality, lack of credibility, lack of customer satisfaction, losing customer interest, lack of responsibility, lack of commitment, false promises, no timely delivery, poor response to customers, poor customer interaction, cheating customers, waste spending money on the brand which doesn't worth it, worst time spending interacting to employees & dealers of the company, no more a respectable and recognizable brand by itself itself.

I have purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator and chosen the dealer Viveks as it was mentioned as a authorized dealer in Whirlpool India website. But this is the worst experience I have ever had in my life and they have made this New year 2010 start as worst as possible for me.

I made the advance payment & booked for a whirlpool frost free refrigerator till today.

I paid the advanced on 19th December 2009 to book the product and made full payment on Dec 31st 2009.

It took nearly more than 3 days for the whirlpool authorized dealer (Viveks - T.nagar) to deliver a product even which was a damaged one which was identified while the product was taken out from the manufacturer's packing & opened by the whirlpool technician Mr. Hari on 2nd Jan 2010 at around 6.30 PM. Then we asked for a replacement immediately. But to be frank even though replacement will be done I wont have the feel of using a new product a psychological factor which any marketer can understand. Thanks to Whirlpool.

I was told that the replacement would be made within a weeks time but it is unfortunate that whirlpool promise has not been brought to action.

I did called the Whirlpool customer care at +91-44 - [protected] on 8th Jan 2010 and I was told that the issue is raised to concern department and would receive a call the same day from a person of that department and also when raised more concerns they gave me the Contact number "[protected]" of "Mr. X - Incharge for Replacement" and said would receive a call from him before that evening and the unfortunate fact is that I haven't received any call from any employee of Whirlpool or from related persons.

Then I ended up calling him but the response I received & the way the person spoke was not satisfactory and I feel that it is the worst part of whirlpool and that does not sounded any professionalism or as a Whirlpool employee. Does have customer handling skills or neither know how to handle a customer and feel arrogance in the way he dealt or spoke to me. The person said that the product will be delivered before morning of 9 Jan 2010 but the same didn’t happen.

I called Mr. X on the same day (9 Jan 2010 at around 11 AM) but again the false commitment & promise made for the delivery before 10 Jan 2010 (which is a Sunday) but Whirlpool executive or person related to Whirlpool doesn’t keep up his words and fulfill their promises & commitment. I did suspected that how cum he can deliver a product on a holiday but believed they would do it as it is a seasonal sale and festive season and might have lot of deliveries which proved to be false and I understood that I was cheated when they were not able to keep up their promise even on 10 Jan 2010 as said by the respectable person in charge for the replacement.

On 10 Jan 2010 (Sunday - working day as said by Mr. X) the product was not delivered and so again I ended up calling the customer service on the above said cust care number where in my call was disconnected by the executive by the caller (executive - Level 1) after I explained my concern to her . Then I called again but I was so frustrated and so my call was transferred by the executive to the floor supervisor (Level 2 employee as per customer service norms) and he has confirmed his name as "Mr. Y".

I told Mr. Y that the most respectable person in charge for replacement has said that their engineers will deliver the replaced product on or before 10 jan 2010 which is today (Sunday) and Mr. Y said that is not at all possible as it is supposed regular company holiday. This is when I understood that I was cheated by that person in charge of replacement (Mr. X) who has told a lie to close the conversation when I contacted him.

Then so I had to show my anger to Mr. Y and told him that I will not disconnect the call until I get a justice or a solution for my precious time, efforts, money, energy and many more which I had spent on tracking them on phone and directly and for the money that I have invested on the product for which he said that he would call be back in 3 hours time tracking the status from the respective department. I told him that I will stay on the line and asked him to track the status and let me know but he refused to do that and started giving me humpty number of reasons for not doing.

He tried to close the call by giving the contact number "+91 - 044 - [protected]" for me to call but then I called the number while he was on the call and found that I felt as if I am talking to an IVR where in the recorded telecom voice comes that "no one is there to pick the call" after the final ring. I told him that this is what is happening for which he said that I need to call Mani the next day which is 11 Jan 2010 (Monday) after all these had happened and stayed with his mouth shut till that moment.

Then I refused to disconnect and stayed on the line for about 30 minutes after which he pulled another Supervisor (name unknown) on the line in order to talk to me. This guy also started taking about the trust I should have on them similarly as said by Mr. Y, Mr. X and other employees of the trustworthy Whirlpool. I told that that Mr. Y has given me the number telling that I would get a solution if I call the number"+91 - 044 - [protected]" but it is unfortunate that no person is available for me to get a right solution and I feel as if I am taking to a IVR or a who is person who is impaired and if this is the case how a customer can trust Whirlpool and its employees. That guy then said that the number"+91 - 044 - [protected]" is the apporiate one for me to call and instead I need to try the numbers "+91 - 044 - [protected] or +91 - 044 - [protected]". I then made him stay on the call until I called both the numbers and found that at least I heard some pre recorded voice of the telecom operator on the number given by Mr. Y but this is even worse.

I would say that it is all about losing customer loyalty, losing trust the customer has on the brand Whirlpool and this is not how a respectable and globally present brand should operate and irritate the customer who ended up purchasing a worst experience in his life.

Whirlpool a&e customer service/service technicians

This is the best. I had an appointment with A&E today 12/16/09 between 8:00am-12:00 noon. Called customer service at 12:10 and was told the Technician was running late, she would try and reach him and get back to me. At 1:40, I called again, was told that they would contact the technician and get back to me. No call back either time from Customer Service. I call again around 3:00, as I was speacking with Customer service, I looked out the window and saw the truck, in front of my house. I mention it to her and ask why the Technician did not give me a courtesy call. She said, some technicans doesn't have phone and he is one that does have a phone. Now mind you. I am looking at this guy talking on the phone as he get of of the Truck. Never mimd that. I let him in and the first thing he says to me is: You know you have to pay. I said and I also deserved a courtesy call that you would be late. He started the washer and said, oh you said the Suds light and the F35 light comes on. He let the machine run for awhile they he said you need a WL switch that cost $142.57 and plus the $129.99 labor fee. And by the way, you should clean the machine once a month and I have a product that does a great job for $12.13. So I said, can I clean it now. He paused and said wait until we replace the part. So I order and paid him $303.56, of which the part will be here in a few days. Well, later on in the evening, I decided to run the clean cycle, so I used one of the tablets that I purchased. My machine is now working fine, no Suds of F35 light. I believe, due to the fact that we purchased the machine in 2008 and never cleaned it, that was the problem. The Technician never looked bedhind, under the machine.

Poor Customer Service and they are ripping people off. Due to the Holiday season, I gave him a tip.

Please do not use A&E for anything...

I have a whirlpool duet which i only used once a week for very light wash. To my dismay, the machine made a loud noise and stop completed. After getting someone to check it out I was told the motherboard is ruined and there was some water inside of the machine, which upon removal stink up my whole house. I cannot believe this machine only less 7 years with minimum use. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. You invest a lot money thinking you are getting a great product and at the end you see that the company is not providing you with products that less. Very disappointed and will not be buying whirlpool again. I am hoping Whirlpool can reach out to me to discuss kikabrasa@gmail.com

Purchased a whirlpool duet steam washer and dryer from Lowes. Also purchased a stainless french door fridge, total spent in 2 years was over $5500. I have had numerous issues with washer, the fridge broke after 2 weeks of getting it. Is everything they sell defective?

I also have a Whirlpool washer and they know the F-35 problem exists. Washing machines should last several years without major repairs being needed. My washer is 14 months old and is used 2 to 3 times a week. It is a top of the line model that was over $1200. It is borderline criminal that they sell a faulty product and aren't held accountable. If it was a car, there would be a recall. I have contacted Consumer Affairs to complain about this issue. I also recorded the conversation with the Whirlpool Customer Service rep when she admitted that they know it's a problem and there is nothing she can do about it. She even had the nerve to ask me why I didn't buy the extended warranty. My last Maytag lasted nearly 15 years before I had any issues. Whirlpool is junk and I will never buy their junk again.

Whirlpool amc service

dear sir
this is just to bring into your kind attention about the pathetic AMC service provided by the co.
I have a semi autometic washing machine and have a comprehensive AMC policy.
when I was called up by your exucative to take the amc, I was told, If I take this Comprehencive Amc policy, it covers the entire machine as insurance.
Now, whenever I call for any problem, your engineer comes and after verifying, the first thing they say that the particular parts which is damaged is not covered. then again I nedd call up different persons and then the part is covered . why so? recently I made a complaint ( no dl1109003571). It was complaint of spin tub break shoe. agiain, the engineer told that this not covered, then after negotiation he agreed to do but told only I have to pay for the break shoe which cost around Rs 50. my question is why I have to pay when my AMC covers the entire machine and more of all nowhere in the policy it is mentioned that 'these...these .. particular parts exclude the policy'. the amount could be even Re 1 but why they ask money.
however he did not attend my complaint and it was closed without being solved.
kindly do the needful
regards.

I purchased whirlpool 6.2ct electric range (model WFE540H0AS) on 3/16/2013 from Lowes, Fremont, CA. I tried to bake my cake on 11/19/2013, and pre-heat it to 400F degree. When the temperature achieved to 400 degree, I put my cake in not even 5 minutes and go to dining room to pick up something. When I turn around, I saw the oven window is so bright and I open the door right away, it has fire from the left side bottom. I turn off the power right away but still has big fire. So I use the fire extinguisher to get the fire off.

I went to Lowes to complain it, this product still under the manufacture warranty and I also purchased two years extended warranty from the store. Lowes sent the 3rd party technician come over to check, they open the bottom element and insist I drop something to caught on fire. He tried 350F degree is working. But the fact is, there's nothing drop, no oil, water or and any ingredients, only fire extinguisher powder all over the bottom. Technician put but the cover, I asked him, how do I clean up the bottom extinguisher mess, he said you don't need to, just clean the top and won't try 400F degree for me since the top didn't clean up. I asked him, I am so fear to use it now, you asked me to clean it up and try again. I only use my oven to bake cakes, cookies, and muffins, and that day the cake even not still raise yet. How could it caught on fire? Is this product defective? I doubt it.

I also called Whirlpool, they said most likely is short circuit, they only provide the repair, unless it can't be repair, then they replace it. Manufacture also told me that my temperature is high. I don't think so. I have no problem to use any oven in 425-450 in the pass. If this is high, why your stove has function to that high degree? I am so upset with both of service. From my concern, nothing dropped to bottom and caught on fire. They all refused to replace the new one and asked me to continued use it. I really don't feel confident to use this one and don't know who can help me to replace it.

I have the exact same problem and since my range is out of warranty, they need to send a technician. They want me to pay $129 for a technician to merely look at it. Ridiculous! And if it was deemed a defect, I STILL need to pay the technician. I told them that it's their product and they should stand behind them. Out of warranty is ALL that I hear. I will never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!
