Whirlpool Washer not working correctly since we bought it 9 months ago

We purchased a set and washer has not worked correctly since purchased. First started leaking then would not spin water out then starting throwing codes and then stopped working altogether.. Sent out two different service compaines.. One walked out and refused to come back due to they keep trying to replace parts and that is not the problem.. Unit needs replaced. Now they have replaced multi parts and still not working.. No one is covering my miss time off work for each service call I need to be there for and the money spent ($25-$20) at the laundromat each week due to this unit still does not work. When I call whirpool they refuse to help and or do anything about it.. They claim they will only service the unit. The people I have talked to are rude and not once had a good call with customer service. Sometimes they are even eating on the line when I am asking questions about what the next step is.

Desired outcome: replace unit or give us money back so we can replace.

Whirlpool Aqualift still won't work despite just having a new bottom element replaced

Hello,

I do not use my oven often, but after having had a sitter stay, I noticed a need to do a small cleanup. In the past, the soiled areas turned to ash and cold be wiped clean. Soon after noticing that the aqua lift doesn't work, my daughter came to stay and used the oven, but it would not preheat to the required temperature. I then realized that the aqua lift must not be working due to a burned out element. I had a technician replace the element two days ago, and although the oven is now preheating, the aqua lift still won't work. It leaves a puddle of water on the bottom, and absolutely no change to fat-splatters on the sides and door.

Desired outcome: a fully functional oven

Whirlpool - Washer WTW5105HW1

I emailed this to; [protected]@whirlpool.com and have not heard back yet. How long does it take for someone to respond? Good morning, I’m writing to you because my washer machine WTW5105HW1 is only two years old and has stopped working. It starts a cycle and stops halfway and goes into sensing, then after 30 minutes shuts down. I’ve already...

Whirlpool Whirlpool dishwasher.

I purchased a dishwasher May of 2020. It stopped working on August 15th 2023. I requested a service call through Whirlpool. The company wanted $139.00 just to look at it. Not to go towards the repair. I typed $239.00 and that was not correct. I contacted another company. They charged me $79.00. That would go towards the repair. The part and labor ended up being the cost of a new dishwasher. I am so disappointed. A dishwasher should not break after 3 years. I will never purchase a whirlpool product again.

Hi Rose,

We're very sorry to hear of your frustrations. Unfortunately, things can break for any number of reasons. One only needs to look through the pages of these complaints to see no manufacturer is isolated to such issues.

In order to stay competitive in price, Whirlpool offers a very similar warranty to many other manufacturers. For those who prefer longer warranty coverage, Whirlpool partners with multiple retailers which offer longer coverage.

Before going any further, check with the retailer you purchased your dishwasher through and see if it may be convered by their additional coverage.

Let us know if we can be of any further service.

Whirlpool Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator

Brand new and from day 1 it has made a high pitched noise which was diagnosed by the service technician Whirlpool sent to repair. as a bad compressor. Whirlpool has sent 4 service technicians to repair the issue and it is still not fixed. A brand new appliance has a broken compressor?!?

This product has made living in my home nearly unbearable. I have had to take off work 4 times for service appointments and the appliance still doesn't work correctly.

serial # HRC0755704 MOD, WRS571CIHZ04
MFG DATE: 202301

Desired outcome: Whirlpool needs to stand by their product and since it cannot be fixed, it should be replaced.

Which model is the unit? On what date was the unit purchased and from where?

Had the unit have any issues with keeping consistent temperatures?

Whirlpool KitchenAid stove with aqualift

Aqualift does not clean it at all (and oven was not that dirty). The products I was told to use do not work (Affresh) Took me 3 hours of muscle to get the sides and door to sparkle. I used Dawn Powerwash.

I would have been better off purchasing a regular oven without the self cleaning feature and just use oven cleaner - it would have been faster and easier.

Your product is complete garbage!

Desired outcome: Seriously? I was sent a bottle of Affresh cooktop cleaner that is also useless!!

Hi Marcia.

Auqualift is not intended to take the place of a full self-cleaning. It is only designed for light cleaning in between heavier cleanings.

Hopefully this helps.

Whirlpool Washer WTW4855HW

April 2021, I moved to TX and needed a washer and dryer. Pandemic made it very hard to find any. I finally found a place that wasn't out of stock. I didn't need a washer and dryer that gave me recipes if you know what I mean. I saw Whirlpool and I always thought this was one of the best brands. NOT ANY MORE ! I've read some of the reviews here and feel I should be happy that the washer and dryer at least works, the dryer works GREAT. Love it! The washing machine is the worst washer I have EVER had ! I should have known when the delivery/set up guy said to always use the Deep water rinse cycle that something was up. And after my experiences with the following I understand now, I even use the Deep water with EXTRA rinse. Doesn't matter. It does run but the issues: water NEVER covers the clothes AT ALL! If I open the lid and close it to get more water in, it drains it. Yes, I understand it goes by weight, but you still need enough water to at least cover the clothes, even just a tiny bit. The clothes come out with some kind of soap residue. I've looked it up and it says you're probably using too much soap. I know I don't, but I reduced the amount anyway. It's still happening, so for the machine that states for the good of the world to reduce water...HA! I now have to wash the items a 2nd time. That's not beneficial to the world. Also, my socks NEVER get clean. I have to wash them in the sink after washing in the machine. And the spin cycle, sounds like it's ready for take off. I don't normally write reviews but after washing clothes this morning... You better believe it !

Desired outcome: A washing machine that washes clothes

Updating in case someone else has the same issue...

Sooo... finally figured it out. I wet some of the clothes before loading into the machine, this causes it to think heavier loads, so the water now covers the clothes for them to be able to wash. Not a lot, just enough for the clothes to get completely wet and be able to have room for the moving motion to clean. Before I had socks coming out almost dry and not clean.

Last Whirlpool for me.

Moving on.

Hi Mr or Ms Phillips.

I think we can assist.

All washers have changed over the years and it is based upon high-efficient standards that started to come about approximately 20 years ago.

Many of your comments are reflective of the machines we used many years ago. At that time, they all loaded from the top, filled the tub with water and used a central agitator to move or scrub the laundry - somewhat like what an older scribing board use to do.

Then came the front loading design in the U. S. market. Using about a fourth of the water that the older style used, it would tumble the wash, bringing the lessor amount of water up and over your wash load, allowing gravity to do the work on bringing the detergent back down, through the fabrics. And it is correct that even though or wash tubs have gotten larger, the amount of water is far less, so one absolutely doesn't want to use as much detergent. The HE label on most detergents mean the chemicals are more concentrated and don't require a much. In fact, using too much detergent can actually cause residue to build up and damage the gaskets protecting the bearings.

Because manufactures knew there were those consumers that prefer top loading machines, they devised a similar design in those. With less water, the washer pumps the water up and over the laundry, creating a similar effect as the front loading units. Again, it's equally important to not over use the detergent - even with a full load of laundry, you should only ever need a third of a cup of detergent.

Now that you have a better understanding of the tool, you'll hopefully come to love your Whirlpool.

No, your email did not help!

I have already stated that I use less detergent and receive the same outcome. The water does NOT cover the clothes AT ALL. And I only wash small loads, the machine is NEVER EVER FULL of clothes. So this is not a help. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AND I HAVE A BIG MOUTH TO TELL MY UNHAPPINESS. NO NEED TO BUY A WASHER THAT DOES NOT WASH YOUR CLOTHES.

that is interesting, i have a whirlpool and they never mentioned deep water. we use normal settings. what settings do you use for your washer [each setting that is lit] and ill see what my settings are next time i use my washer. one time i did have where it didnt fill up like it should, the reason was a bad sensor due to a defect in the part.

Appreciate hearing your response.

There's no question that the water doesn't cover you laundry; again, it's not suppose to. The contents of the washer is never submerged into water as the older models you to, but are showered and cleaned as it does so. I know it's difficult for some people to get use to this new concept.

That being the case, you might look for an older washer in your area that is still functioning. If you can find one that was designed around the turn of the century, you might have something you'll like. Be aware, however, that if something does go wrong with the unit, parts will be extremely difficult to come by.

Best of luck.

Hi TheldrakIsCS,

I use...

water level: Deep water wash

rinse option: Deep water with extra rinse

cycle: Normal

If my clothes actually came out clean, I would not have started checking the water level as it wouldn't have been an issue.

I appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you !

Whirlpool Whirlpool ac

My AC was malfunctioning from 3 months ago. I had requested a service from the Whirlpool sight. They visited and told that my outside pcb was at fault and I have to pay 15000 for the parts. The parts came 1 month afterwards and my ac again started faultering a day after. They came again and told it was beyond their ability to repair and that my ac would be replaced. It's been 3 months and neither my ac is replaced nor any member of Whirlpool is showing any interest for doing the same. They are very ignorant about the matter

Desired outcome: I would either like to get my ac replaced or get a compensation of RS 20000

Whirlpool Refrigerator

When I bought this thing, the sales man said I was waisting my money to by the extended warinty. He said nothing ever goes wrong with these refridgators. I would like to getr my hands on him right now. First it stopped making ice. A service man came out and said the ice maker heater was bad so he put in a newone. Still didn't make ice so he said the ice maker was bad so he put in a new one. Still no ice, another man came out and said did they shut off the power I said no, he turned off the breaker for ten minites and when he turned it back on in no time it made ice. So that means I paid for the heater valve and ice maker for no reason. As far as the ice maker goes, when a new part is put in, you leave the old part, when I worked for caterpillar tractor that was always what was done. Rebuilt part you take the old one with you. He insited on taking it with him. Now every month it stops making ice I turn off the breaker and then it works again I have done this eight timews. Yesterday it stopped making ice and the top lights in the refridgator went out I turned off the breaker but no ice and no lights this time. What a pice of junk

Whirlpool Whirlpool washing machine model #wtw5105hw2 - serial #cb1201568

We purchased the above product in April 2022. In late February/early March 2023 we noticed that some of our clothes had what appeared to be black grease spots on them and after rewashing the stains could not be removed; therefore the clothes were ruined. I have been trying since April to get service for this issue, but have been unable to do so.

Emails requesting service were sent in April, May & June 2023 with a response, "Thank you for contacting Whirlpool. Our support team will follow up with you shortly." NO RESPONSE RECEIVED! I HAVE THESE EMAILS!

June 23 - I called Whirlpool customer service and talked with Kendra in Georgia and explained the problem. Kendra apologized and stated she would schedule service at no charge due to the problems with no response.

Jason with Northwest Atlanta Appliance Repair came out on July 1, checked the washing machine, but couldn't explain where the black substance was coming from. He then stated that the gear case and cam kit needed to be replaced and he would order the part. Jason came back on July 4, replaced the part and stated he was going to contact an engineer to see if they could determine where the black substance was coming from. He suggested running a vinegar rinse through the washing machine, which I did 2 times. He asked me to wash a load of laundry and let him know if I was still having the problem. He stated he would be back in the Rome area on July 7 & 8 and would contact me. HE NEVER CONTACTED ME!

July 7 - I texted Jason at 8:26 a.m. and told him that I was still getting the black debris from the washer and sent him a picture. I also told him there was an odor coming from the machine when I took the towels out. NO RESPONSE!

July 10 - I texted Jason at 10:33 a.m. asking if he was able to contact an engineer and ask him to contact me ASAP. NO RESPONSE!

July 11 - I attempted to contact Jason (business number - [protected]), but there was no answer. I left a message, but did not receive a call back.

July 14 - I called Whirlpool customer service again, talked with Ladasha in Tennessee and explained the problem I was having. Ladasha called Jason and she said he told her he was waiting to hear from the tech line and then someone would contact me.

July 19 - I again attempted to contact Jason again (business number - [protected]), but again there was no answer.

July 19 - I attempted to contact Jason (cell number - [protected]), but he did not answer. I left him a voicemail message stating that it had been three weeks and I needed to have a call back today (7/21) with an answer about my washing machine. NO RESPONSE!

July 19 - Later, I called Whirlpool customer service again, talked with Lauren and explained my frustration with the lack of service. Lauren stated she understood my frustration and that she didn't see anywhere that Jason had made notes regarding contacting tech line or my repair, except that he replaced the part. Lauren call Jason and reported back to me that he was refusing to come back out because I had left him a not so nice message. I explained that there was nothing not nice about my message other than expressing my frustration. Lauren stated that she was going to send a message to tech line and mark it "high priority" and that someone would call me on Thursday or Friday (July 20 or 21). As of today, July 22, I have not received a call from anyone!

I hope you can see and understand my frustration! All of this documented information plainly shows that Jason with Northwest Atlanta Appliance Repair intentionally refused to take my calls and respond to my messages. However, when he was contacted by Ladasha and Lauren he answered their call.

The attached photos shows the black debris that's coming out of the machine.

Desired outcome: I would like for someone from Whirlpool corporate office to contact me. This washing machine should either be repaired or replaced. Sylvia [protected]@aol.com

We're sorry of your frustration and wild like to assist.

The photos aren't perfect but I think I can provide a pretty good conclusion as to the black debris. It would appear as if the gasket protecting the bearings is rotting. This will likely lead to the bearings failing, at which time the unit will only be good for scrap. It's possible this is the result of using too much detergent within the wash load. You should only need a maximum of 1/3 cup of detergent.

Because you're within the second year of ownership, the manufacturer's warranty has elapsed. Contact the retailer you purchased the unit through. If you elected to purchase am extended warranty, they should be able to get the parts replaced.

Whirlpool Refrigerator

Purchased model #WRX986SIHZ03 in February, 2022. On June 7, 2023 I contacted Whirlpool's customer service department to request service as the refrigerator was not cooling properly. The company sent a service tech and I was told the compressor was bad and needed replacing. The part was ordered and a week and half later, the tech came back out to replace the compressor (took 3 1/2 hours). After 24 hours, the refrigerator was warmer than it was before he replaced the compressor. I called back and the tech was sent back out again. He stated that he may have over-charged the compressor and made an adjustment. Told me to give it 24 hours to come to temp. After 2 days, the refrigerator still was not cooling properly. Called Whirlpool who sent another tech out. This tech said it was the door gaskets causing it to not sealing properly. Ordered door gaskets and waited another week or so. A different Tech came out to replace gasket, but I was told, it was not the door gaskets, but instead the door hinge and the fan not working. Additionally, he stated that the tech who had replaced the compressor did not add enough coolant. It is now July 17, 2023 and I still do not have a working refrigerator and Whirlpool just continues to insist on sending techs to try to repair with no regard to my having been w/o a fridge for nearly 6 weeks. Nor will they reimburse me for the hundreds of dollars in food loss or having to eat out due to not having a working fridge, with the exception of offering $75.

Desired outcome: Replace the appliance or give me a full refund so that I can purchase a working refrigerator. I have a small child and it is mid-Summer...I cannot continue to go indefinitely without a refrigerator and I cannot afford to buy a replacement.

We appreciate hearing from you and would like to assist.

Because the issue has taken place past the first year, the overall unit is no longer under the manufacturer's warranty. We suggest contacting your retailer to see if the service or replacement is covered under an extended warranty program.

Whirlpool Customer service

I ordered a part over the weekend from Whirlpool Parts. It was a dishwasher under cabinet mounting bracket. I paid $21.81 for the part and $22.99 for shipping (via Fed-Ex) to have it delivered in two days. Tax and all it was $46.71. there was a delay on FedEx his behalf. I had purchased a replacement part and requested Whirlpool to cancel shipment on the item. Whirlpool refused to return the part during shipping. I have since contacted whirlpool on several instances requesting a refund. I was told by whirlpool that I would have to pay the shipping. What is frustrating about ordering from whirlpool is the part that I ordered, I was able to get the replacement part from Amazon for eight dollars versus $21 I paid to whirlpool and shipping with Amazon was free. Not to mention I was hung up on by Whirlpool’s customer service. Do not buy parts from whirlpool they overcharge you. Look on Amazon. You can find that part on Amazon for 1/4 of the price you will pay to Whirlpool. Do not waste your time with Whirlpool.

Desired outcome: A full refund and a paid return shipping label.

Whirlpool Refrigerator

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in August 2021.

Model: WRF535SWHW

Serial: KA1808382 fro Eli Appliances, Elizabeth, NJ.

On June 26th, 2023, the fridge and freezer were not cooling. We reached out to WHirlpool. They set up an appointment with a repair company. Repair did not show that day. When did come a week later, they diagnosed as the compressor needs replacement and customer has to pay for the labor and part. WHirlpool is not standing behind their warranty which states very clearly that in the second through the fifth year of purchase, WHirlpool will pay for replacement parts and labor costs such as compressor etc...

After speaking to 5 agents, 3 supervisors in the last 17days, WHirlpool sent another repair company who gave the same diagnosis and said that within 24 hours, we will hear back from Whirlpool. Hasn't happened yet. After speaking to a number of technicians, we have learned that compressors are hardly ever replaced. We respectfully ask that Whirlpool replace the faulty unit in a timely fashion.

Desired outcome: We would like Whirlpool to refund us for the unit so we can purchase another one.

Whirlpool Whirlpool washer

I bought my brand new washer from Lowes in Feb 2023 after 3 months it wouldn't even power on. Called the company and they scheduled a repairman to look at it. The company they used was beyond bad as weekly I would call them to see if they had a time frame during the 6 weeks it was part on back order to it wasn't under warranty. And 3 days after a new panel was replaced it no longer works. I cannot wait another 6 weeks for a part as a family of 5 I have to have a working reliable machine.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer (model # wxw7800xl2) defective lid

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model# WTW7800XL2 (Cost $ 2000+) and have had to replace (2021) the original DEFECTIVE washer lid that you produced (defectively) at a cost to myself of $180.00!

The replacement lid is also DEFECTIVE and has now broken in the same manner as the washer's original lid. *Please see attached pictures.*

It will cost me between $300-$425 to do that.

I am irritated beyond belief that your company produced a washer with defective Lids and EXPECT you to make this "right" by providing me with a new lid FREE OF CHARGE!

You say that you "stand behind" your products. Well, PROVE IT!

Desired outcome: Send me a new Cabrio gray/black washer (Model # WTW7800XL2) lid FREE OF CHARGE!!!!

Whirlpool Dishwasher

Whirlpool Avoid UPDATE!

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from Costco.

The control panel failed. Tech was out on 5/10. Whirlpool can not locate the part some eight weeks later. They are unwilling to fix/replace the machine! I have called several times only to hear they have a process they are following ?!

Avoid purchasing a Whirlpool product.

UPDATE

After a two-month wait for the part, it was installed only to fail again after one load!

Called Whirlpool and Costco who have set me up for another appointment. So frustrating.

Technician came. Needs parts that are on backorder as well.

Looks like another eight weeks.

Still refusing to replace the machine!

Desired outcome: refund

Whirlpool water softener

Hi there,

I have purchased a Water Softener WHES442 -22063 from Lowe's Cambridge in Oct. 2022. it is now July 2023 and half of the tank if filled with water. I have contacted the customer service on 2 occasions (July 5/6), and got completely dismissed. I was told on both occasions that is my duty to read the "journal" and troubleshoot myself, witch, I'm not comfortable with. I regret making this purchase. I have kept the purchase receipt and also registered the product. Its it completely inadmissible that we are asked to troubleshoot products under 1 year warranty ourselves.

Desired outcome: Have the water softener fixed.

Whirlpool Dishwasher model: kdfm404kbs

I ordered the dishwasher on May 28, 2023. The first delivery was scheduled for 6/19/23. The company that whirlpool uses never delivered the product, so it was rescheduled for 6/27/23. The product arrived as scheduled but the technician was unable to install the dishwasher to due a manufacturing defect, so the dishwasher was returned.

I contacted customer service and they apologized, but told me I had to wait again for another email. I am guessing to reschedule a replacement and new delivery date.

I also emailed Whirlpool and 3 days later still no email or response.

All I would like is an escalation order to receive the new dishwasher asap, as we have nothing at the moment. The technician could not reinstall the old unit.

If someone from management would contact me that would be wonderful. I am hopeful this can be resolved quickly and we don't have to wait another 2-3 weeks again!

Desired outcome: I would like an escaleted replacement order as soon as possible.

Whirlpool WFW560CHW

This washer is only 7 or 8 months old and has acted demonic since the first month of use. It makes horrible sounds, has an odd smell and after several attempts at repair now leaks all over my floor. It has stated to damage my wood cabinets. Whirlpool has sent out a tech 3 times to repair and will again send another tech to replace the last moving parts, the drum and motor.

This is ridiculous, it is not useable at all, it’s going to damage my home and all I get from whirlpool is oh we will send a tech. I want the unit I paid for replaced and done now. I have been dealing with this for the last 4 months with little or no positive outcome. How is sending a tech 4 or 5 times replacing parts cost effective for them, not to mention the vast amount of time I’ve spent on it. I wish I kept my old LG.

Desired outcome: Replace my washing machine now.
