Western Dental Services prescribed motrin for an aching tooth needing to be pulled

4 days ago my tooth began to hurt to the point it was obvious it needed to be pulled. I already had work done on this tooth, and I was hoping Medi-Cal could eventually increase their coverage of procedures so that I could use my Medi-Cal to pay for a root canal, and so when my tooth began hurting, I knew I could not wait for Medi-Cal coverage and that my tooth needed pulling. From the condition of my tooth, having a discolored tooth that has a big gaping hole and beginning to seriously ache, it was obvious, pulling the tooth is the only solution. I called Western Dental and asked to schedule an appointment for my tooth to be pulled, today on 9/11/15 is when my scheduled appointment was, I went to my local Western Dental today and was expecting to have my tooth pulled.
I had some x-rays done and was placed in another room, I expected the dentist to show up and pull my tooth, and this is not what happened, I was told my tooth did need pulling and I was scheduled on 9/29/15 to have it pulled. This is 17 days to wait to have my tooth pulled, when I thought that was what was going to be done today.
Then I asked the dentist if I had to wait that long for an appointment, if I could get some medication for the pain until then, the dentist wrote me a prescription. Once I was speaking with the receptionist before leaving the dentist office, she gave me the prescription and I had to ask her what it was for, as the writing on the prescription was so sloppy I could not even read it, when she told me it was for Motrin I made a complaint that it was not a strong enough medication for my tooth needing extraction. My complaint did result in them writing me a prescription for Tylenol 3, that is better than Motrin, but it seems to me like Tylenol 3 was still not sufficient.
If you are in serious pain and need some medications to get you by until your teeth can be worked on, then you might really have to beg for it, or else you may end up being written a prescription for Motrin, which is the same thing as Ibuprofen.
It would seem like a dentist would be completely aware of how much an aching tooth can hurt, and for the dentist to write me a prescription for Motrin and expect me to wait 17 days before my tooth can be pulled, that is sort of illogical.
It is not like I was some crack head wanting a pill popping fix with no valid reason for needing some pain medications.
I would not have complained at all if the dentist would have given me a reasonable prescription for hydrocodone, which is common for a serious tooth ache.
What a waste to expect to receive any reasonable medications for an aching tooth during my 17 day waiting period until they could have it extracted.
I am wondering, are tooth extractions really so uncommon that this particular Western Dental only has tooth extraction appointments once or twice a month.
It seems like pulling teeth would be common enough at a dentist's office, so that they would have a dentist capable of pulling teeth available on any given day.
Do you have an aching tooth that needs pulling, if so you might have to wait two weeks or more to get an appointment for a tooth extraction at Western Dental, at least that was my experience.

Western Dental Services poor service - paid for services not completed etc!!!

After having lost insurance coverage to go to our regular dentist was forced to use this company who will refer to less than adequate! They gave a list of required work to be performed which seemed reasonable; however, finally being able to go back to my regular dentist, found that the work they claimed to have performed was in fact not done! Now I have to go through the process again or should I say correctly by a reputable dentist...Beware before signing a contract with these crooks and would recommend getting a second opinion before letting this chop shop go anywhere near your mouth.

They should not be allowed to even call themselves a dentist and would never recommend anyone stepping foot in their filthy office.

I agree, the dentists are evil, rude, over worked, and refuse to prescribe pain medication. I had a severely infected tooth and my mom felt so sorry for me she paid for her dentist to fix the botched up job they did. He immediately prescribed me pain meds and strong antibiotics. Stay away!

Western Dental Services incomplet, uncompassionate care

At first, I was pleased to get a four o'clock appointment on a Friday to get a lost filling repaired. I even took time off work to come in 30 minuets early after receiving a call requesting I do so. However, after the courteous staff x-rayed me, I was escorted to the front of the office. I was confused but thought, "Oh they just want me to pay first." Then I was asked when I wanted to schedule my next appointment. Dr. Husbands then told me he refused to do my filling that day because he wanted to go home. The dirty floors of the office were somewhat unsettling, but I was truly shocked that a medical professional could show such disregard for my well being. Dr. Husbands could care less that he put me at risk by sending me out of the office with a lost filling and a gaping hole in my tooth! Not only did he waste my time, but also my only chance to have my filling repaired before the weekend. I have never been so hurt and shocked by a doctor's total lack of ethics. Avoid this place at all costs!

Western Dental Services unethical contract

Western Dental gave me only verbal explanation of their benefits, indicating that at any point I would cancel my contract with them if I would get a Dental Insurance, something that I did, now that I have an insurance I took it there and they do not want to take my insurance for future treatments, they asked me to sign, it was my fault I do not read well and I did not receive a copy of the contract until after the fact, now I only make the minimum wage, they did a work that involved an extraction of a tooth, sent me to an specialist that I had to pay extra, the work lasted 3 months, after the extraction the bridge that it was fitted was loose and was giving me pain on my jaw, to the point that I was bleeding, I had to removed it, their response has been pretty slow and now they are talking about doing another dental work which will increase the contract. I need help, I need to cancel my contract, I had already paid $1384 so far and all they have done is the bad bridge and 2 extractions, they tried to fix the bad bridge but I'm still in pain.

Western Dental Services filled wrong teeth

BEWARE OF WESTERN DENTAL! I’m 45 years old and this was my 1st cavity filling experience ever. The 1st time I went in the found a cavity and wanted to fill it immediately. They gave me an appointment for the very next morning. I waited 5 hours to be seen. They pulled up some one else record and filled the wrong teeth. The fillings immediately fell out. I called back and told them I was in pain and could not eat. They said they could not see me for another week. I asked for the manager. He would not speak to me. I asked for the receptionist and the manager’s name and they hung up on me. The service is like a fast food restraint. Only the $$$$$$ and people number count matter to them.

Western Dental Services no service

I made an appointment with the Folsom office, which is the nearest dental office to me that accepts Medi Cal. It's 78 miles away, or 90 minutes drive, each way. I got there early, and filled out the forms. I went right in, and the radiologist did a great job on my full mouth xrays. She took my Blood Pressure( BP from here on). It was about 152 over 102(high).The doctor came in, and started dictating the exam to the assistant, without introducing herself( an Indian woman). I told her I was on BP meds, recently, the last 2 weeks. The office mgr. went over an estimate with me for a crown, a $1000 deep cleaning, and a partial denture for the uppers. Total over $2000. I opted for the extraction I came in for, and the Dr. came back and asked her to take my BP again. I told her the radiologist had taken it about 20 min earlier. OK. so, she came back in a few minutes, and said she could not do my extraction because of high BP, and it had to be under 90 on the lower number. So, I waited a week, drove an hour and a half each way, and got no service. Medi Cal needs good dentists, who are not just out to rip people off. Stay clear of Western Dental, is my advice. I will never go back there.

Western Dental Services worst billing

I had my daughter and son go to this dentist in April 2014. They both were checkups and ended up with my daughter getting her fillings and my son had a cleaning. I wanted to go thru them for my son who needs braces but his dad said no that they are the worst dentist company to go thru so only daughter did her fillings there. My insurance covered both and only my daughter had a patient cost which was 331.80. So they printed the pre made payment stubs for the months which was the around 34.00 monthly, always paid on time every month and the last month was supposed to be January 1/25/15 and the remaining is 42.80. We would get the monthly statement also by mail with the updated contract every month showing what we paid and what is remaining on the balance. So we have our last statement dated 1/30/15 and showing the contract balance is 41.80, must of paid 1.00 more somewhere. So I would think that every month as the balance is getting lesser and low and behold, my daughter paid today the remaining for the 41.80 instead they said it was late so it is 67.00 with the late payment fee. Fine, we paid the 67.00, they printed out the receipt with a balance of 151.00? I called and asked why are you charging me when we have audited on our side every month what we paid, why didn't someone notify us that this is incorrect or if the insurance added something. They are the worst dentist and worst of all my son's dad warned me not to go with them cause their billing is the worst and they will mess up your account. No wonder people with medical is covered and don't have to worry about a bill.. i will never ever go with them again.

Western Dental Services emergency appointment unavailable

Was on hold for 30 min only to be transferred to another person. Stayed on hold for another 20 min for them to tell me they do not have any emergency appointments available. I called lastnight at 7pm and a doctor calls me back at 3am! Western Dental is just horrible. Not to mention the staff! Ok. Unbelievable.

Western Dental Services Poor service and shotty billing practices

I'm in the midst of a billing nightmare all brought about by a payment that was 10.00 short. This lack of payment and lack of a notice to inform us, ultimately landed the account in collections. This 10 dollars has grown to roughly 450.00. Every payment that was sent after being sent to collections was hit with a 25.00 late payment penalty, though paid on time, which is being subtracted from every payment. What a scam, To add insult to injury, the collection agency that they transferred the account to has a practice of not answering the phone. So any thought of finding out about your and the required steps to bring the account current is not an option. When you finally talk with the folks in WD'S billing department, they could care less. All they talk about is what's required to bring the account current. If you can't pay the balance in full, forget any thought of having your braces adjusted, it's a dream, not happening. This is a company with great commercials, but poor execution. Customer service and customer satisfaction are only a words, they have no interest in either. There motto, Pay Me the Money. I'm sure, when they read these com[plaints, they blame the customers, and take no responsibility, it's our fault. Poor company, great commercial, poor product. I guess you get what you pay for garbage in garbage out. Western Dental, how do you sleep, you should be embarrassed by this. Shame on you

I live in Vallejo California and have also been to Western dental worst decision I've ever made when it comes to the billing department they lie to me about what my insurance covered they lied to me about what I was responsible for and then they sent the account 2 collections The building department is the worst department full of uncaring heartless individuals That do not understand your job to do not understand customer service do yourself a favor and just stay away This is coming from a single father of 2 autistic children scraping by in the Bay area of California

Western Dental Services bad billing and fraudulent contract

I went in and have my daughter checked by their Ortho Doc.
At first everything went well. We 2 insurances covering my daughters braces. Then
problem starts coming in. First, they never get our “Basic Info” like Names,
address and Phone numbers correct in spite of repeatedly request to correct
information resulting to not getting any billing. They’ve claimed that I they
have called me and turn out they my number wrong. Then I’ve walked in their office
to pay and asked for billing statements and nothing came in. Then due to non
payments, they forwarded my account to their collection agency which we paid
everything in full. I called in and schedule for my daughter since it was
almost 6 months before we get this resolve. Second: During my daughter’s confirmed
Scheduled dental appointment on Oct 9 @3:30pm, they told me that we are
scheduled on Oct 30. I asked them who scheduled that appointment, and the
receptionist told me that it was their stupid corporate office. Again, their old
Bolognese take effect where they called me with the wrong number. I told them
this is not right, worst, they told me that our Two insurance didn’t pay their
part at all and it shows we owe the another $800. We called and verified our
insurance and apparently Western Dental didn’t
do their job to bill them. They denied my daughter to be seen and even rescheduled
it according to their time.

Please dont go to any Western Dental! The worst in service!

Western Dental Services appointment/scheduling

On 9/6/2014 I called to get an emergency appointment for my husband. I explained to the women that he was in a lot of pain and needed to be seen. She gave us an 11:45 appointment. Mind you we live 55 miles away. 15 minutes later my husband gets a call from Western Dental to confirm his 11:45 appointment and to let us know that the doctor goes to lunch from 12:00 to 1:00. First of all if you know the office is closed from 12-1, why schedule us for a 15 min appointment. He calls back and gets and appointment for 1. We get there and we are told that the doctor can only do x-rays and an exam and that we would need to come back on another day for anything else that may need to be done. We explained to them again the reason for the visit and they said that it didn't matter that they were already booked up for the day. We also explained that we had just driven 55 miles to get there. This company is only based on getting money. They don't care that patients drive from miles away and that most patients are in a lot of pain. I ONLY explained myself and the pain my husband was in ABOUT 4 TIMES. When they scheduled the appointment they knew it wasn't for a routine cleaning and it was for an emergency. If you knew he couldn't be seen and treated on the same day why would you make us drive that far for NO DAMN REASON! Why not tell us up front that they would only do an exam and that the doctor was already booked for procedures that day? We will never us Western Dental and we will tell everyone we know not to us them either.

I also have been on pain for months now needing a root canal. I finally got insurance and chose the florin Rd Western Dental office. Called a got an appointment for a month later. :-( Finally the day came and I arrived early, filled out their 30 pages booklet to register. Only to find out that they never confirmed my insurance and since it was Saturday I was stuck like chuck. When I made the appointment I gave them both insurance info. So I had to leave, got home and thought, well If I can printout my info from online I may be able to be seen, I called them. Explained to them the situation again, got hung up on! Called again only to get told oh well, we will call your insurance on Monday to verify (although its right on the card) and call you to reschedule. Have they never had tooth pain? Very unsympathetic and rude! Why should I have to now wait another month because you didn't do you diligent job in the first place?

Western Dental Services liars, negligent, rude, unprofessional

This company called western dental is terrible. . . Unprofessional, rude, negligent, liars, discriminating.
I went in to my local western dental for treatment had some extractions done etc. . . On medi cal need a root canal had to dang near beg for that, because they don't want to do the root canal if you receive medi cal, because medi cal only pays for certain types of crowns that western dental obviously don't want to use they dont even offer root canal to savable teeth if you are on medi cal. I had to get a second opinion about my teeth from managing dr. Who said that i could get the root canal so anyhoo the person that sends the authorization to medi cal was supposed to send it that day. . . Fast forward 5 or 6 weeks later i called today the person spoke with could not find any sent authorization so she resent it and told me to call back in 2 wks. . . I then proceeded to call corporate what a mistake that was the girl on the phone couldn't find an authorization either, she was half listening to me and misinterpreting what i was saying, so she called the local and put me on hold, she came back to the phone saying that she spoke with the office manager and that i had agreed to something else. I told her that he was a bold face lie, and if i had agreed to something else why would i have called at this time when the authorization should have been back, or at least they could tell me a date that the authorization was sent, she could tell me nothing. . . These are some of the most incompetent so called professionals that i have ever seen, the office staff is not friendly maybe one or two people are nice and friendly the office manager is a jerk and liar. The corporate here in california hires people who do not have proper phone etiquette well at least the one that i spoke to in corporate today to me she was semi combative. . . I tell western dental what, if the don't get it together with their shady dentist, and staff, and their billing and discrimination against medi cal patients they are going to have one of the biggest law suits in history. All i know is that i have a tooth right next to the one that needs a root canal this tooth needs a filing i kept asking can they fill that without an authorization but the dentist act like they didn't want to do it so they didn't. This is the worst dental experience that i have had in my life. I wouldn't recommend a dog to western dental for treatment. Poor business practices, poor customer service, bad dentist. No chairside manner. Too pricey. Don't walk away from western dental ruuuuuuun away from western dental. . . Please this is happening all over the country where there are western dentals, complaints, complaints, and more complaints. They won't do anything about. I will be searching for an attorney and another dentist asap.

Western Dental Services taking for ever

I got braces with Western Dental first thing first with out signing anything I ask for a free consultation they did x rays a we sat down and she told me its was going to be 4665 and my insurance was going to cover 1500 which I already knew my insurance don't cover ortho but she refuse to listen to me then we look at the contract she instantly added gold braces which was an additional 250 give or take 50 bucks.I told them that my schedule was not flexible she said no problem they will work with you I later found out that wasn't true. The first 3 visits the wires where not added then the next couple of visits they focus on straighten my bottom teeth a now there working on my top teeth...I recently had braces for about a year with a different company but I could not afford them anymore my teeth where straight in less than 6 months and with Western dental its being 9 months and they just started working on my top teeth every visit I feel little or no pain on my teeth and they schedule me every 1 and half month and I started to look at my contract and it states after 2 years there will be an additional charge of 160 every month, well that explain why they are taking there time. My cousin has braces with Western dental she said she has not started on her bottom teeth yet and she is a couple months ahead of me...I don't recommend this place

Please burn this into your brain so you can remember it forever: when seeking any sort of dental care, avoid advertising corporate dental chain clinics like the plague!

Look for dentists or orthodontists that OWN the practices in which they work. Those are the guys who have an interest in long-term patient satisfaction.

Western Dental Services high prices and dentist is incompetent

I want to warn all people that Midwestern Dental is the horrible place and the dentist there was incompetent and rude. I made the appointment, but when I came to this place, I waited 40 minutes while the dentist appeared at his working place. After that he did almost nothing and my tooth pained me. I got the bill, which was horrible, but I needed to pay. Their prices are too high. Please leave comments and share your views about this company. Thanks.

Western Dental Services fraudulent billing

I went to western dental for implants consultation, they checked my insurance and presented me with contract.
I agreed, signed the contract and work begun.
When I got my statements my total was never the amount, that was on contract, and when I asked lady in the office she said that it will be fixed. After 5 month it's still not fixed.
To make things worth, my monthly payments which are made through my banking online, are never posted on time, and every month i'm charged late fee. To fix this I have to go through my banking on line services to reverse late fees. And we go through this every month. They are cashing my check and week later sending me collection statement.
When I call them I can not reach anyone competent to help with this matter. It's a pure madness. I will never have any other services there or refer anyone to them.

Western Dental Services unprofessional and sloppy

Went in to get porcelin fillings due to cavities, well the doctor did the fillings and everything was fine that day just some mild pain from the
drilling. The next day i was experiencing major pain and i returned to the office and informed the dentist what was going on. He then prescribed me vicodin and said i would be fine in a day or two. Two days later i returned and informed the dentist again, i was still having chronic pain on that side of my mouth, he then told me with an attitude that there was nothing wrong and i only came here to try to con drugs out of them, he then said he would redo the filling. After the procedure he then told me he went ahead and placed temporary fillings in my teeth without my permission, then said to return in a week and have permanent fillings done, when i returned, the receptionist pulled my file and said i had no insurance, i immediatly found out afterwards my insurance was good, now they are refusing to fix the job they did in the first place. i have contacted a lawyer and thbey are now facing a lawsuit. DO NOT GO TO YUBA CITY WESTERN DENTAL

Western Dental Services ortho

They are a rip off! Took my daughter to initially get her teeth cleaned, however they recommend you see the ortho before hand. Well I did that and they informed me my daughter would need braces due to gaps when she bits down, and mind you I'm not a dentist. So I followed their suggestion and got my daughter braces. Now this was in April! Met with their financial people who are by the way dental assistants who I believe are not certified to go over payment solution IDK. My daughter has straight teeth too. Then I went in to get my teeth checked out, and I had to do the same, see the ortho. And I never had braces in my life as i was lucky my teeth were straight. But the Ortho man suggested braces if I wanted a complete straight smile. That didn't happen! My daughter had taken her braces off because they wouldn't see her as I was 3 months behind in my payment which was a bunch of crap! Mind you she had a wire sticking out and they still wouldn't touch her. And so the wire was scrapping the inside of her cheek and started bleeding, and so that's what lead up to her taking them off. So to anyone who wants to go to Western Dental keep in mind they are all about making money even if you have a small dental problem $$$$. I had lost my job which lead me for a couple of months behind, but have been working on catching up. They had already threatened me if I don't catch up they will send my account to a collection agency and their costumer service reps. are rude. It just seems that they get you when your down when it comes to $$$$$, as they don't care your mouth only whats in your wallet. Western Dental is once again about making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Had I known this I wouldn't of put myself in this BS...

western dental did such a crappy job on my denters the teeth break off >3 times now and the upper plate has broken 2 times now, i paid 1628.00 for the job to be done correct and they have no clue how to make them, or fit them to your mouth, im having the make a knew top plate and its been a month so far and still not ready, they dont no how to make them to fit my mouth what so ever, if this time it dont fit correctly, i will be seeing them in court a.s.a.p. im not putting up with there crap any longer and i will be suing for the max of 5000.00 for my time waisted 3 weeks of every day spending time there trying to get it to fit, they cant even do that part right, dont waist your time with western dental for no reason they do very poor work and charge much more then others f*** WESTERN DENTAL Vince Ladick

Western Dental Services billing

These guys are crooks when it comes to their billing department, I would assess there work as Average at best. Lets get to billing issue. My then girlfriend needed some dental work done in 2007 I agreed to pay for some work, a couple of fillings. All was well. I signed some paper work and paid them Then about six months later she went back with out my knowledge, permission or a new contract with signature for service to be preformed she had several root canals done ( I was told). Imagine my shock when I sent a bill for $3500.00 for service. I immediately called the office and told them they were billing the wrong person, that the girlfriend was in Washington state and I gave them a forwarding address. They kept attempting to bill so I spoke with the Office manager and stated that I had never signed or authorized for any such additional services. They then turned it over to collections. It's still with collections and now they have pushed they original date on my credit report from 2007 to 2011 to extended it. I am taking further steps but these guys are incredibly shady. I have asked for proof of debut and all they send me is the original paperwork of $1800.00 which was completed and paid for. I am following up again on Western Dental but boy what a headache they been. I would stay far away from there Dirty business and billing practices. If I still lived in California I would go down to the courts and file agents them false billing and reporting to the Credit agency. LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR A REPUTABLE DENTIST.

Western Dental Services dental surgury

Horrible! The worst experience of my life these people have no idea what the f* they are doing. I got my teeth pulled in order to prepare my mouth for braces and in return got a surgery that was horrible I could feel most of the pain and their was so much pressure I wanted to cry. They clearly hit a nerve because I couldn't feel my lower lip and chin for over 6 months and its just now getting at about 90% back. When I got home I called and they just told me to come in and talk to the dr. So I did just to hear a bunch of excuses and it happens and its probably going to get better. They made me pay for it all calling 6 to 7 times a day for 34 dollar payment. I brought in the full 400 and told them to never call me again and but the time I had gotten to my car they had called 2 times from the corporate office. Worst dental office ever never go her its not worth the pay or the service they are unskilled money hungry #s.

I had a horrid experience from them also. They are the same all over. I do not understand why they are still in business .
