Walgreens incompetent pharmacist

I'm a long time customer of this particular Walgreens pharmacy (going on 6 or so years now) and this is beyond believed. I’m on a controlled medication and will be for the rest of my life. I have a good insurance coverage and always pay my share. On the day that I was dropping off my prescription to get a refill, I was told that the pharmacist had called my insurance and they had told them (the pharmacist) that from now on all of my and any one on my account medications will be a 100 % out of pocket expense. At first, I was at shock. However, after few minutes I realized that this didn’t sound right and decided to make a call to my insurance myself. To my surprise, I was told that what I was told was nothing but a “hot air”. I went back to pharmacy and requested that the pharmacist calls my insurance and talks to them again. After three (3) attempts and many drives to and from the (not so local to me) pharmacy, I was finally able to get my prescription filled. I will think about my choices of the pharmacies as I was sure that I found and settled with one that I liked…

Then/than, a common misspelled word, even by well educated people. That does not mean that they are not a rep from Walgreens. That does not make them a troll. Could be true, but we can't judge that because of how they spell "then".

BlackIrishGirl, I saw your proof, and it appears that that is a typo rather the misspelling. Though I am an adult I never fall for that prank.

I agree with Walgreens, this is not the pharmacist's fault. Also, IMO royal customers who get good to great service for years do not go and badmouth a company once they have problems, nor do they stop going to that store. Now let's say Kron_Ites has been a good customer for sereral years and all of a sudden he had not one but many bad experiences then I can see why he would badmouth and avoid them. But this is one experience. Now if they were going downhill, he would have something to complain about.

You know what you say you have been a long time customer, that you have been here shopping with us for six years, however the moment something goes wrong you complain. Well I work in the Head Office of Walgreens and just recieved your complaint. You eventually got the problem fixed. Yet you want to try other pharmacies till you find one you like. I don't know what you are trying to achieve from this, however if you have revieved good service for six or so years and this is the first time something went wrong, (which is not the pharmacist's fault) just miscommunication between the medical insurance company and the pharmacy. Than frankly we can do without you as a customer.

Have a good rest of the long weekend.

Walgreens no longer getting it again in 83716 area code

The walgreens store on E Federal Way has the zipcode listed on their "list of stores" as 83705

The store is in the 83716 area code.

I have tried and tried for over a year to get someone to correct their data base so they list the 83716 area code when they place their advertising in the Idaho Statesman. The statesman can't deliver their weekly ad to the 83716 when it is not listed or paid for.

I finally got someone to fix it last February but the 1st sunday in May it was no longer there. I contacted the Stock Holders department and talked to a lady who thought i was crazy and said she would turn it over to advertising dept which never contacted me and it didn't come last sunday either.

All I want is to get someone who has a brain and wants to help their company increase their revenues to fix the problem. 83716 is a huge area and they are missing a lot of customers especially since this is a new store and the sales are real important to whether or not they keep it open. This store is very close to me and i don't want it closed.

Thank you Marcia Bostrom [protected]

I have done that but it is hard to print out their whole ad. However, I am not holding my breath but there was an ad in the paper today! Maybe I was right again and they didn't mean to not put it in the 83716 zip code. Time will tell. Thanks to all who sent email with alternative ideas. Appreciate your thoughtfullness.

ps About my name and phone number listing I didn't realize this complaint board was available to everyone, I thought they would forward it to Walgreens. I am not the most literate person when it comes to internet stuff. Thanks and I won't do that again but so far no phone calls.

A) You posted your full name and phone number on the internet. Not smart.

B) Go to the store and get the ad. If it's that important to you, you are probably a frequent shopper. Just pick one up when you go in.

C) If you go to Walgreens.com, click on Store Locator at the top, put in the ZIP code, on the right-hand side under "Store Links" there's one that says "View Weekly Ad". There you go. Your local ad.

Or, here's the link directly: http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreens/default.aspx?action=entry&pretailerid=-99389&siteid=434&adref=storeloc&storeid=2596517

You're welcome.

Walgreens the manager - mr. wharton is a nightmare

I live in an upscale neighborhood in mid-town. Tolerated and compromise the ill store management and customer services at Walgreens located on 2nd Ave & E53rd Street for the location convenience. The Manager - Mr. Wharton on duty last night (2/17/2010)is a nightmare. Besides his lack of managerial skill, he is nasty, unsympathic, defensive and very threatening. The evil dominance that he pronouced publicly induced a fear I never thought i have for me shop in this Walgreens again. He is not worthy to be place in such civi neighbourhood. I hope the district manager will relocated him to area of his kind so that he can taste his own medicine.

Walgreens horrible customer service

I am a diabetic. Under California law, any pharmacy with permission by the City may sell 10 or fewer syringes to customers without a prescription. All Walgreens have that permission and I have had no problems procuring syringes from any Walgreens except recently when Barbara Ann, a pharmacist aid at the at Market & Van Ness Ave in San Francisco, insisted, in a rude, discourteous manner that I needed a prescription. When I explained the facts to her, she still refused to work with me until the pharmacist reluctantly admitted that a script was not necessary. That cleared up, Barbara Ann huffed off in search of this common insulin syringe. When she returned, she claimed the store had none in stock and in fact that the product I needed was obsolete. After explaining that I have been using the same syringe for years, I asked if she would order a new supply. She refused and insisted that it was my responsibility to do that, and I would have to contact the store and reorder more. When I pointed out that she was the store and I was requesting that the she order a new supply, she blew me off, refusing to help me out. She refused and sent me on my way. This arrogant lowlife needs to be sent on her way permanently.

I had trouble transferring my meds to a new location. Three trips because no one would answer the phone after 15 minutes different days. I even went to my Doctors office and had them Fax it to them, showing they receiving refill. Returning to the store waiting 30 mins in line they did not have the Fax. Three days later they filled the wrong prescription. I got home and had to pay for another prescription I didn't need.
Gee thanks Walgreens Great Customer Service. I am on a fixed Income. Oh by the way it was for Kidney Stone meds. But I guess since it is not for you you could care less! Thank you for letting me vent this. This is a awesome site Thanks Mrs Sandra South

Walgreens I have had the unpleasant experience with them

I have had the unpleasant experience of having to rent medical equipment from walgreens home care. They are the most incompetent provider out! The rental equipment is paid for through the insurance until it meets the purchase price. Walgreens has been paid in full and yet they continue to bill my insurance. This has been going on since august 2009 and now they are still billing january 2010! Yet every month they bill, every month the claim they will fix and the solution for them is to bill the insurance company again. This company has the rudest of customer service assistance and now I hear they are outsourcing outside the us to india and the phillipines. I would seriously never ever consider using this nightmare of an organization. Not only are they incompetent they choose to employee outside the us and create more unemployment. You know what you can do with the "walgreens way" "there's away" - the way is away and far away from having to deal with these idiots! Please check out your options before ever using walgreens home care!

Walgreens personal injury

Hi,

I have a question about an accident my mother had on February 14, 2010. On this date, my mother slipped in a local Walgreens located on 249 in Northwest Houston. According to my mother, she slipped on liquid that was poured on the floor. (I am unclear on who poured this liquid.) A Walgreen's employee and police officer witnessed her fall. My mother drove home from the Walgreens after the fall. After the insistence of the officer, she was driven to the Emergency Room. While my mother has suffered from back pain in the past, she is now debilitated by the severity of her back pain, which she has been experiencing since her fall. She has been contacted by Paulette Greenwood (1 – 866 – 640 -2927 ext. 51049), a Walgreen’s claim officer. At her most recent doctor’s visit, she was diagnosed with Lumbago (general lower back pain) and myofascial pain syndrome (chronic muscle pain). I am unsure of this diagnosis is a cause of my mother’s fall, but it’s clear that the fall had a tremendous effect on my mom’s back.
My mother is now unable to work and struggles with everyday tasks. We (my mother, sister, and I) are desperate for short and long term solutions. We'd love to see my mother reclaim her life. Please call me at 404.242.6664 if you can help.

Thanks,
Tamika

Walgreens shortened on prescription

I went to walgreens on Torrence and had a prescription filled and when I got home I took the medicine right away because I was in pain. I felt better a little better later and I looked at the bottle and the pill bottle was supposed to have had 30 pills in there but when I counted them there were only 12 pills in the bottle. I called the pharmacy and young lady told me to come back and I went back the next day. I received the rest of the pills so I thought when I returned home there were suppose to be 18 pills but were only 17 in the bottle. I also went back on May 10, 2010 and put in another perscription and when I went to pick up the prescription and when I opened up the bag and the bottle had only four pills in the bottle I talked back to the technician and told her asked her what happened to the rest of the pills, that I need a 30 day supply what the prescription had written on there. She asked me did I have a prescription and I told her yes. I asked her to return my prescription to me and my money and that I was going somewhere else to have it filled. I am bringing this to your attention because if it is not looked into next there will be someone who will get the wrong medicine and that could lead to death. I fill the people up at the Walgreen in the pharmacy department are incompetent someone does not know how to read a prescription.

BioKim stop being a hater. I have gone to Walgreens and when i went tu use the medication when I needed it I saw the bottle and it was suppose to be 60 count but it looked like it was not the normal amount I usually get. When I counted it, they have given me 30 pills instead of 60. I payed money for 60 not 30 and i depend on that medication. They made me feel like I had done something wrong for their mistake. People's health are at stake here. If they acknowledge their mistake I would be fine with it but they made it seem like I took 30 out of the bottle and tried to scam them. You don't know the situation so stop attacking because it happens to a lot of people. From now on I count it before I leave.

How are you going to call them an addict? If the wrong pill count had been the posters fault, there is no way they would have given them the pills they were short. I swear that is what is wrong with this world, someone says pain medicine and wrong amount and people assume addict. Because it's too hard to imagine that the person in the pharmacy filly the "pain" meds is the actual addict and crook.

And they hold ALL the cards! So many ridiculous flaming hoops to jump through just to get medication you need to be functional! I wouldn't be able to work if I didn't take the controlled medication I am prescribed.

It's instant judgement and I've had pharmacy employees flag me when I become irate that they with-hold my meds pending "doctor confirmation"- IE- they try to get your control scripts pulled under the guise of "concern of addiction"...they do NOT consider that the patient may DIE without their medication. Don't let ANYONE tell you that opioid d/c isn't potentially deadly! cold-turkey is MURDER.

Walgreens photo cd

Today is April 11, 2010. It is going on 3 months since I started contacted Walgreen's about this matter and still no reply.

Does this need to be an issue that only Corporate can resolve? If so, I will send it there.

It is now a month since I wrote to you about a problem I have had with my local Walgreens photo center. I have not received any response to my two e-mails.

Please advise who I can call to discuss this deplorable action on Walgreens part.

Gentlemen,

In 2004 I had a large order of 35mm Kodacolor films developed, processed, index printed and a CD made for all at Walgreen's store #7360. They were of a 3 week trip to Europe, starting with Helsinki Finland. I received all the materials, but did not check out all the CD's as I had all the prints, negatives and index prints I requested. I was at the store with no computer and presumed that the CD's were all OK

This week I started to load my collection of CD's onto a Seagate hard drive storage device when I discovered that 3 of the CD's do not have all the images loaded onto them. I took the CD's, index print and negatives to my local Walgreen's (#3461) and discussed the situation with the clerk. After we looked at the CD's, she fully understood my issue and stated she would discuss burning new CD's for me with her manager. I clearly stated that as the original CD was faulty, no matter what the time length, the replacement CD's should be at no charge. After checking with her manager, she was told that there is a 30 day refund (?) policy and if I wanted replacement CD's they would be made available at $5.[protected]@. I did not accept this offer.

Obviously that is not the reply I wanted to hear. As it was Walgreen's responsibility to burn a full and complete CD of my films, and CD's do not degrade, what is at issue? I might even consider a part payment IF Walgreen's was franchising the shops and the owners were different. But that is not the case.

I would appreciate your reviewing my request for replacement CD's at no charge and letting me know your decision on this matter. I am attaching scans of the CD index prints, the original processing envelopes and negative identification numbers for your information.

Regards,

Martin

Had Walgreens develop photos, paid for developing, CDs. Took the CDs home and on my home computer Windows XP program, found I was asked to pay an additional $30 a year, to view my pictures. I tried to take the CDs back and was told no such program existed at Walgreens, ? I am at a loss, can't view pictures, personel offered no sugestions as to a solution or refund, etc. Any sugestions would be appreciated, Merry Christmas, Bob Smith [protected] or home [protected]

I'm a photo tech at Walgreens, and I completely understand your frustration, but I should mention that it is hard for them to understand your situation if you go to a separate location than the one where you originally processed the film. They should have done the replacements for you at no charge. Unfortunately, we have many dishonest customers, and when you go to a different location after 30 days, they often will not do an exchange for you.

Bob-I used to be a photomanager at walgreens and I have never seen anything like that before. You may want to take the CD back and ask them to make you another copy because the one you got was defective. Not sure about any other options. Sorry

Becky-If nothing came up when you put it in, then it may be defective. If there is a friend or neighbor that you can try using their computer to see if it works. Otherwise, take it back to the store and see if they can pull it up on their machines. Sometimes if there is an error when the CD was created, it may not play at all.

Good luck to both of you

Walgreens 3,000 cash sweepstakes

I've been consistantly calling for the last two years the toll free number for the $3, 000 cash sweepstakes survey and I have never won neither have heard of anyone winning. Now when you call the number it tells you that they have all the surveys they need for this month. They have done it for the last two months no matter if you call early in the month or later in the month. Is this a scam?

In our neighborhood, we have a couple of drugstores near-by, but we have found that at walgreen's, we have received the best customer service, and variety, and always in stock products compared to the other stores. We are very happy to have walgreen's as our neighborhood store, and would not change it for anything. sincerelly yours Luis Alarcon.

Walgreens substituted medication

On April 12, 2010 I took a prescription for ten 75mg. Fentanyl Duragesic Patches and Hydrocodone 750mg. I picked the ten 75mg. Fentanyl Duragesic Patches up on April 12, 2010. The Hydrocodone 750mg. Was not filled because they said that it was not covered by medical. I said it must be covered because this is medication that I take. I was asked what was the last pharmacy that filled that prescription and I told them. I left the Walgreens pharmacy and gave a contact number. I called and was told the Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) at the other pharmacy expired and they would do another TAR. So I said please do the TAR, when I ended the conversation it was my understanding that the TAR would be done. On April 15, 2010 I called to see if the TAR was done and I was told the prescription was ready. I was surprised it was ready so fast and went and picked up the medication. While picking up the medication I was given a consult for the medication and at no point was I told this was a different medication than what was on the prescription.
I could not read and assumed that the medication they gave me was the Hydrocodone 750mg, I sat the bag of medication on the passenger seat and drove off.
On April 18, 2010 I asked my daughter to get my bag of medication and told her what I thought it was. My daughter returned and said that it was Hydrocodone 500mg and not Hydrocodone 750mg. I immediately called the Walgreen pharmacy in Banning, CA and spoke to the pharmacist Joann. I explained what I had and I wanted the medication that was on my prescription. I was told by Joann that medical does not cover Hydrocodone 750mg., at all and I said it does because this is what I take. Then she said they called the doctors office and spoke with someone besides the doctor and they approved the change. They said they called the doctors for a change because the wait for the TAR would be a couple of days. Buts obviously I was ok with the wait because I didn’t tell the person not to do the TAR I couldn’t wait.
I asked why wasn’t I told when I picked up the medication and why was I told that I would have a Treatment Authorization Request done of my behalf for this medication. I was told as long as the doctors representative approved the change I didn’t have any say so. In speaking with the pharmacist I was told I had to call back and speak with the pharmacy manager. When I called back ad spoke with Brian, he was very vague and unconcerned. He gave me the feeling that what I need as a patient and what they are willing to do for me a a patient are to different things. With Walgreens pharmacy benefiting, there getting paid for medication that will not do the patient any good. The following really made me uncomfortable with this pharmacy:
They disregarded me a the customer and person receiving the service.
I wasn’t told the TAR would not be done.
I wasn’t told the medication was different. The pharmacy manager said once a doctors representative approves the medication change, it remains that way.
The contact with me the customer was not provided.
The understanding that if the doctor is prescribing a certain strength of pain medication its for a reason.
The consequences was me being in severe pain, I could not walk, my knees cracked and joints hurt tremendously. The economic hardship was trying to return this medication and get the correct medication via a TAR and going to my doctor for another prescription to take to the pharmacy.

I was not going to bring this up, however I feel it must be said!
A year ago I had an order for Viagra filled at walgreens in Cleburne Tx. I used 3 of the 10 pills and they did not work, I returned them to walgreens an they replaced the 7 an said there might be some thing wrong with me or my body that could be the reason the pills did not work! I took 3 more pills and they didn't work!
I told my doctor he said get this one filled at CVS, I did and they worked just fine!
The point is what can one do about fake or pills that don't work like they should?
I still use walgreens for my other meds I take, but worry if they do that with those pills how far will they go with other meds? I thank you for any respounce that will help!

Those of you that agree with the walgreens in the banning pharmacy must work there, because every thing in that persons comment is true, because i have had the same experience. don't bother to complain because they really don't care, even if you call corporate. Just go to Rite Aids on Highlands Springs, they don't have what I call the god syndrome.

@RestlessHeart: Actually, Vicodin does come in a 7.5/750 strength.

Besides that, OP... did the directions say what they originally said for the 750 strength, or did they change it to say "Take 1 ½ tablets every whatever hours"?

And yeah, I'd take it up with your doctor if they okay'd it and the lower dose doesn't work for you.

Vicodin does not come in 750mg doses. You have a variety of dosing but that's not one of em. To name just a couple...5/325...5/500...then there's the 7.5/325...7.5/500...then I believe it jumps to 10/325...10/500 (the 2nd number is the mg of acetaminophen in it.)

You just HAD to have this med...but then you let it sit on the seat from the 12th to the 18th?

If the medication isnt doing you any good...it isnt the pharmacies fault and it also doesnt mean they shouldnt be paid for it. If you picked it up and later find it doesnt work, that's between you and your doctor...it's not the pharmacies fault.
Sheeeesh maybe you need to stay off the meds when you come here and complain

Walgreens said i can't get three days of supply after the manager said i could go that way

I have been waiting for preathorization approval on new meds again, The Pharmacy manager of walgreen spoke with me on monday about getting 3 days supply and i would have to get another prescription from the doctor again, but if you wait it could be today or longer for approval. So today Tuesday ( day after) i spoke with my nurse and she told me to wait for the approval which could be aday or longer and the pains i have i cound not wait.

So, i called Walgreens about the 3 days supply and was told that i could not get them as She stated that they don't do that on these kind of meds, then i told her about Pharmacy manager charise Lewer said yesterday that i could get my three day supply then she immediately cut me off stated that the manager never said that i could get three days supply and then i said thats what the manager said! And she started to raise her voice stating nobody said that i could get a three day supply. As they are waiting for approval to give me meds. explaining to her that what the manager said she wouldnt listen, so as i asked to get her name to report her for talking the way she did. As I handed the phone to my wife i said get that ###ers name for me, (wife) said hello and the pharmacy hung up on her.
My wife calls back and a Pharmacist answered, my wife then identified herself as Rachel and that she wanted to know the name of the employee who was helping Ted and hung up on him. The Pharmacist then asked her what this pretained to, she started to explain to him and he said I thought he said he just come back from Florida. Rachel told him no he wasn't in Florida and started to explain the problem. He then told Rachel yes he can get a three day supply and Rachel told him the Pharmacist Ted just spoke to quarreled with him and raised her voice and hung up. he said that he would have it ready soon.
SO i got there and said my name and the Pharmacist Donna D left for the back and Gary came to the front and gave me my meds saying something about florida? He said i told him im going to Florida a few days ago I'm confused with this. and asked if i was useing profanity on the phone. I'm still confused. The fact is I ordered my meds and i got greif from her every time.

Walgreens I hope to never have to deal with walgreens mail order pharmacy again

I've been trying for weeks to get a prescription from Walgreens Mail Service Pharmacy . This service is being offered to members of AARP. To begin with they are very S-L-O-W. (We have also dealt with Prescription Solutions through our plan with AARP and their service is blindingly fast by comparison and we have never had issues with them in any way. The only reason we went with Walgreens for this prescription is because it is not covered under our Medicare plan and it was much less through Walgreens. In the future cost will not matter because the stress of dealing with Walgreens makes it no value.)

Okay, so they are slow but since they don't even acknowledge receipt of the order by email or phone I thought it would be best to check to see if they received it. I called and got a recording that told me the order was being processed and would be sent out the next day. Days went by and no prescription so I called and spoke with a person. This time I was told it could take 5 to 10 days for delivery. Still no prescription, called once again and was told it was sent to my address but in another city. The person I spoke with checked and said the records were correct but no explanation for why it was misdirected. That person promised immediate correction of the problem. Because it was a Friday and the following Monday was a holiday I was told to look for the prescription the next week.

Becoming a bit wary of Walgreens effectiveness I checked by phone the next week and was told that the prescription would be delivered the following day. I asked the person to check and make sure it was being addressed properly and was told it was not being mailed, it would be sent by a carrier. I asked how the carrier was going to deliver to a mailbox since that was the address that Walgreens had for mail order service. Ooops! I asked to speak to a supervisor and after some hassling with that person she finally agreed to check with the carrier to see if she could have the shipping address put on the package rather than the mailing address. (We live in a rural area and do not receive home delivery of mail. Had Walgreens bothered to ask for a delivery address OR had they informed me initially that they would be reshipping this way I would have made sure they had the house address.)

The "supervisor" I was speaking with said she couldn't make any change to the address as yet because the carrier hadn't received the package. She told me I should call them later that evening and the following morning to be sure the package was being routed properly. At that point I was really becoming annoyed - I do not work for Walgreens I am the customer - it is not my place to have the package rerouted. Indeed, it seems as though it would not be legal for a shipper to reroute a prescription drug shipment on the say so of a member of the public who was not the original shipper. What is the matter with this picture?

Finally, the "supervisor" agreed she would take care of the matter and said "she would keep me posted". That never happened and the prescription, which was to be sent overnight, never arrived.

Now it is the day after the "delivery date" and once again I called - recording said the shipment was delivered yesterday. Huh? Telephoned again and asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the reason the prescription was not delivered...the carrier could not deliver to a mail box! Oh spare me!

I explained that this matter was supposedly corrected days before and requested that the matter be investigated further. She told me to call the carrier and find out why the package was not delivered on time. Once again I went through the explanation that I did not work for Walgreens...yadda, yadda. So she grudgingly called the carrier and then came back on the line and told me it would be delivered today. She also promised she would call me back and keep me informed of the status. She did not and the package was not delivered, so I called the carrier myself. I had little success, was told it was Friday and because they only had a mailing address it was not going to be shipped until next week.

Called Walgreens once again and this time was told that the carrier had attempted delivery today and the day before and was unable to deliver. That is utter nonsense, there has been someone here both days waiting for the shipment. Then I was told I could go to my local Walgreens and could pick up a few pills to get me through until the shipment arrived, that Walgreens would pay for that. Yeah right, it is a 20 minute drive to get to my "local Walgreens", were they planning to pay for my gas too? No.

This is a ridiculous way to run a mail order prescription drug service which is touted as a service for seniors who are members of AARP. Walgreens apparently misplaced my original prescription because I learned they even called my doctor's office for a second prescription for the reshipment of the prescription. The real kicker is that I discovered this afternoon that they had actually charged my credit card one cent as a charge for reshipping! What sort of insanity is that?

Once this mess is over I hope to never have to deal with Walgreens Mail Order Pharmacy again.

Walgreens refused photo scan

I walked into the walgreens and proceeded to the photo counter where this elder lady customer was getting her purchased professional photos scanned and reprinted by a walgreens employee, when another walgreens employee approached me and asked if she could help me. Well I said, yes i would like to get my photo scanned and reprinted just ike she is doing as I pointed to the customer that was in front of me. And the lady who was helping me stated that walgreens could not do that for me unless I had the copyrights to photos that I purchased. I explained to her that the photo was purchased and it belonged to me. It was a photo of me, and she said to me...do you have the copyrights? so she refused to scan the photo and copy it for me when you guys advertise photo shop and putting photos on cups and plates and mock magazine covers. So I dont understand why she asked me if I had a copyright of my own photo. Then as I walked away, her and the other co worker was laughing at me.

My passport photo was rejected because too much hair was in my face, lighting, and blurriness of the Walgreens photo. Is there a refund policy? I feel like the photo department is not trained to take these photos, and there is a big difference between the post office photo and the Walgreens Quality. Thank you.

I agree with you Erin Sadle that comment about "sulking like a ten year old" was uncalled for and rude. It is insulting to ten year olds since they can act more mature than this person acted.

Also if you look people are telling Irish to behave herself also. If you wanted to come to a site that is professional, this is not the type of site. Lately it has turned into a teen soap opera more than anything. However till you can admit you were wrong as well you won't get far. Irish may gave been rude to you, however you called freetrialisnotfree an idiot and she was polite in her posts. That was uncalled for. YOu acted childishly and rudely to her and she did not stoop to your level. No she replied in a positive way.
Like someone said, the laws are different from state to state. Maybe the laws in freetrialisnotfree's state are different than yours?

Erin, no one is attacking you. If you looked you would see I posted the same to Irish. However I agreee on one thing. This is not a professional site. Besides you were wrong also. Irish(a girl BTW) may not have made her statements nicely but freetrialisnotfree did, and you called her an idiot. Also what's with "she started it" attitude. No one is jumping on you. We are just telling you that both you and Irish are acting childish. Two wrongs don't make a right.

ErinSadler, while you may not agree with other people's comments and opinions no need to result to childish name calling. You and Irish are the ones who need to grow up. Freetrailisonofree is posting their opinion better than yours. The one that needs to grow up is you. If you are an adult you should be able to state your opinion without name calling. Irish is a 15 year old girl, perhaps you are also and don't know better? Same goes to Irish. Also Erin, instead of calling people idiots why don't you first research the laws about this.

Ugh, sounds like a bad experience overall... contact the district manager (find out who it is) and DEMAND a response.
If they lost it, they should find it. There really isn't a good reason to lose someone's prescription...
Find out who the manager is, and talk to them. if that doesn't work, find someone at corporate.
good luck.

Walgreens attitude

First of all this store is the worst drugstore I have ever been too. They are never prepared with your prescription they always act like they are on their computer screen and they have a prejudice towards white people because they think the world owes them something because they are black. I asked them to loan me one pill (Zoloft) which I have been prescribed for over 20 years. It is very important with this medication that you do not skip a day. I have had this particular prescription refilled at this location for over 10 years but they said they could not loan me one dose because it is against the law. That is fine but the regualar pharmacist has always loaned my medication while they get in touch with the doctor to get authorization to refill my order. I ordered a refill for this preciption 4 days before a ran out so I would have this all straight when I would need to have the refill, but this location never informed that the dr. Denied it they just made it inactive and just left me to deal with it on my own. I am not a bitter person but I would like to sue their # because they are incompetent and should not be allowed to dispense medication to people. Never goto walgreens because they dont care about their customers! This is not over!

When and if they do "loan" medications, they usually take what they give you out of the next one they fill for you. And if it is against the law, the customer should not be persecuted for it they are not the ones doing it the pharmacist is.

Yes, they often will give you an emergency supply, however, they are not legally required to do so. If you abuse this privilege (for example, always wait til you have no pills left to request a refill) then they may decide not to.

Also, I doubt they "pretend to be on the computers." I work in a pharmacy, and it gets really busy and I often have to multi-task, typing in new prescriptions for waiting patients while helping patients at the counter. Everyone seems to think they are the ONLY patient in the pharmacy.

And one day without Zoloft won't kill you..I used to take it, so I know.

If you have the same prescription at that pharmacy, say you get it on a regular basis for years, then yes they will ususally give you two days loaner. That is what it is called loaner. I have recieved them occasionally for different medications.

Leave walgreens, take all your medications and transfer them somewhere else.

Zoloft is not controlled, however, it is used for depression, so it shouldn't be a drug that is "loaned" out all of the time. By the way, it's called an "emergency supply", and you're lucky because no other chain pharmacy does that ( I know!)

Kix...it wasnt the loan of a med I remarked on though I was prolly unclear. The remark was on the word itself...loan implies you will give it back or replace it when you're done with it. Kind of hard with a med.

My pharmacy does actually give me a couple to get me thru til a new script is called in if things work out that way..so...yes...I know they do it.

I just think the original poster needs to seriously chill out

RestlessHeart: Pharmacies will give patients (that they know and see regularly) a couple of days worth of pills and then take those out of the total amount when they either get the prescription in or the patient comes up with the money for it, or whatever the problem may have been.

How exactly do you "loan a pill"? Its not like you can give it back when you're done with it. You need to settle it down there little one. Lindagale: Actually, you're completely wrong. Here's the definition of narcotic- http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/narcotic. The word narcotic refers to pain killers. Where you said "any controled substance is a narcotic" is true. But Zoloft is not a controlled substance. Zoloft is for depression. Things like Morphine, Percocet, Vicodin are controlled.

And how do I know these things? I work in a pharmacy.

Walgreens slow service

At the Walgreen's pharmacy at 39th and SE Belmont, they have a window for dropping off prescriptions. Fine idea as the transactions only take 30 seconds or less. This window is invariably closed at this store, and who knows at how many others. So they direct me to the pickup line which has a long line so it will be 15-20 minute wait for me to toss in my 20 second drop off. There were three pharmacists at that drop off window and they just didn't care.

I have quit using Walgreen's twice; once when they gave my prescription to someone else and gave someone else's prescription to me. Once when the pharmacist was very snotty to me several times though I was polite.

And now this. I'm going down for the third time and I don't care if I have to walk the extra 6 blocks to Fred Meyer. At least they are fast and accurate.

Walgreens on line script refills

I ordered my prescription refill on line one week earlier than pick up date and it was not ready for pickup at the pharmacy. I checked before I had logged off, and it was in my "cart", but the assistant at the pharmacy informed me that it had not been placed. I was then informed (in a not so pleasant manner) that it would be at least another hour before it could be filled. I do not have easy access to transportation in this very small town, thus it was quite an inconvience for me.

Walgreens fair scheduling

I have a store manager who is being in my belief, unfair towards me. She says I am slower at doing tasks on the floor, which is a bunch of "Betty Crocker" in my book and several others as well. So, she schedules me More nights and weekends now. Used to be one night a week or a weekend. Others have better schedules than I. They only have to work one weekend day and all days or one night in the week! She puts me on a weekend day and now one or two nights?! I have been with the company 15yrs! She offers me no other positions in the store, only checkout! What an insult! I see FAVORATISM!
