VOLVO XC 90Computer problems!

Starting at about 7000 miles, during a highway journey, our XC-90 began giving false computer messages indicating things like, "Tire Pressure System Fault", "SPIN Control Fault", "Air Bag System Fault", which eventually culminated in the vehicle refusing to start. We managed to get it started one more time, and drive it to a Volvo dealer where they swapped out an "ignition switch" . 150 miles later, the false error messages again began, and the car, again, refused to start consistently.

With help from the local AA, I got it to another VOLVO dealer, who could find nothing wrong, reset the computer, and sent me on my way. Of course, a few months later, the dashboard "light show" has started again. Just today, I took it again to our local dealer, who "gave it another SW upgrade", cleared the computer, and sent me on my way. Talk about frustrating. I now have a car that I feel I must outfit with survival gear, should I break down again late at night on some not well traveled road.

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts on what I should do given this situation, and if anyone else has experienced similar problems. The was manufactured in Nov 2006 and is a 2007 model.

hehe, all you can say is FXXX the Stubid Volve onboard control unit. my is 2004 model, nothing worse can happen when your car let you down on the middle of nowhere without any expectation. it is hard to get the damn car going or get help. Oh, forget to tell you, my stubid v70, once it go wrong, everything that in computer control go wrong, include not starting the car. go to those dealer to fix and fix, the money is going away, but don't see those problems go away. ( can not start, break failure, anti skid service require, engine light, AC lost, lost horse power ) you named it, the volve car can show up all at once and you are on your own. trying to start the car and get you out of there.
    my experience,
---if problems show up while you driving, DO NOT stop the car and turn the key, because you will have more disapointment.
---if the problems show up while you driving, drive the car to dealer or repair shop before you dair to turn off the key. at least some one can help, and u are not on the road.
---if the car dead on the road and can not start, go opent he hood and let the car cool down, it might work when it is cooler.
--- if wait for a while still not work, hope you have a buddy to push the car for you,
#1, put the gear to N, and push the car foward
#2, shift the gear to D, then try to turn the car key, your car should able to start. if the car still does not start, then let the car cool first.
