Hertz - charge for tire damage caused by hertz bad situation

Rental Record: [protected]
Unsafe situation returning car, return lot was full, slowed down but was moving forward to figure out what to do, car hit steep spike incline, car started to roll backwards, I tried to go forward in fear of spike going through tire, spike went through tire, this is like a no win trap caused by Hertz having a spike array above ground and long return lines causing confusion.

I should not have been charged and Hertz should have had someone directing traffic at spike area when the return lot is full. Spikes should not be on top of a steep incline where this can happen, they should be flush to the road. I saw others almost go backwards trying to figure where to go.

The fellow who forced me to sign the Inspection form was very rude and not understanding the bad situation Hertz put me in.

This messed up an otherwise great vacation.

I expect a full refund for the tire.

Hertz - car rental experience and fraudulent charges

I had a really horrible customer service experience with Hertz while visiting Orland the week of 12/1/15. Being a Gold Plus member, I am guaranteed the best price on my rentals and when I provided documentation that my son got a better deal on a better rental, they refused to honor the price. Further, they charged my card on a prepay only to inform me upon arrival that only my wife could rent since she was the name on the CC. My really bad experience was exacerbated when I review the charges on my credit card from my trip only to find that they had charged me the $25.75 toll fee even after I declined the fee upfront and opted to pay any tolls out of pocket. Having lived in Florida for many years, I was familiar with the toll system. I called to inquire about the charge that I did not agree to and they said that I had passed through a toll so they charged my card. This is a ridiculous claim since I paid all tolls out of pocket and being familiar with Florida Toll Roads, I know with 100% certainty that I did not run through a Sun Pass lane. They said they had a pic of my tag during my rental and I asked to see it and they declined to give me proof. I believe this to be a fraudulent charge and most like a common scam of Hertz. Given my past experience with the company, I would most definitely believe they are capable of this.

Hertz - awful experience!!

We just rented a car from Hertz for 11 days 8/2-8/13/15. The car was infested with bugs. Thousands of them running all over the dash on the seats on us everywhere. We did not encounter them when we left with the car. It was not until we went to use the car the next morning that we saw them swarming. We called hertz immediately. We were getting no answer so we kept leaving messages with the manager. Finally at 1:00 we got in touch with someone (because we kept calling) who put us through to roadside assistance. They told us to fuel up the car and bring it to Daytona beach airport where there would be a car waiting for us. Can you believe they wanted us to get back in that car? My kids were traumatized to say the least as were my husband and I. Against everything in us we laid out plastic ponchos on the seat to get to a gas station and then the airport. There was no car available. After a big fight (very nasty rep at counter and of course no manager available)at the airport hertz finally sent for a car from Orlando. We waited till after 6:00 for the new car. We wasted an entire day of our vacation sitting at an airport frustrated to say the least! The car that was brought to us was a definite downgrade from our first car (minus the bugs). We were told to speak to a manager upon returning of vehicle. Of course no manager available again! We left a detailed written course of events and copies of our contracts, receipt for a cab (which we were told we would be reimbursed for and never were), etc. They promised we would get a call the next day as we were getting ready to board the plane to back to NJ. We gave them a week. No one ever bothered to call. I called them back and was put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. When I finally got someone and re-explained everything again they told me the best they could do is refund me for a day! Are you kidding? That barely covered my cab fare. They don't care about their customers at all. I should have realized that when the three customers ahead of me, when I was renting the vehicle, all had problems too and warned us. Please don't use this company!

Hertz - customer neglect!

An Hertz employee by the name of Nick was extremely rude to me when I asked for his assistance. I had a question to ask this gentleman and requested that he approach me because I was traveling alone with a small child, 4 bags of luggage and plus a stroller. This individual informed me that he would not assist me because he believed that way that I waved for him to approach me was how you summoned a dog! To make a long story short, I got his immediate supervisor name Bob Shelby and the general manager name John Cherry and tried to complain. They will not return any phone calls. The issue was never address. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

I agree as well. I was treated so badly at their Boston location. I was charged for a higher end vehicle and got a lower class vehicle. I called Hertz numerous times and nothing was ever done. I will never rent from them again!

I totally agree with you, Hertz has a very bad customer service. They are generally rude and they don't care about customer satisfaction. Their cars are dirty, an employee I spoke to about the state of their car, claims that it would take time to clean them up, and if the renter is late in returning, they too often rent out the cars without cleaning them. This is a very poor customer service. I hope this company would go under, by how their company does not inspire customer loyalty.

Hertz - false charges and rudeness!

We had rented a car from Hertz at Tampa airport to return to Orlando -- were advised to return to Orlando Airport. Had previously rented from Hertz for several years as business customer -- boy are things different for "average consumer". Returned car to general car rental return at Orlando International Airport, because we could not find the off site Hertz return. We placed several calls to Hertz national office and Hertz Orlando office, and left several urgent messages asking for directions. Nearly missed our flight. Hertz has never returned the calls asking for direction, nor have they returned the MANY messages left. We spoke to Michael at Hertz orlando office, who assured us he would notify us if they could not check the car in, finally, as we were going through airport security on January 29. As of February 6, I started getting calls saying the car had not been returned, and tried to call the Orlando Hertz office to check on the status. On several occasions, the CSR hung up on me, often without even speaking (just picked up the phone and slammed it down). They refused to give me the contract information, or even check into the car. Georgy simply said "we don't deal with attitude" and hung up before I could explain the situation. Michael recommended we report the car stolen but refused to give me the license number, phone number for Orland Police, or the contract information. Supervisor Lisa took the details and promised to help and then went on vacation for several days and never followed up. On several calls, the Orlando office did not answer, and I was re-rerouted to Emergency Roadside Assistance. They took the information each time, and said they would follow up, but only one woman actually called back to say the car had in fact been collected on January 29 as requested. However, until February 12, I continued to receive several automated calls a day, and Hertz only today (Feb 13) checked in the car that was returned on January 29, charging me even after Hertz admitted the car was returned. The staff at Orlando were the rudest I had ever encountered, often refusing to take any information. The supervisor Toni hung up after saying “ it is not our business to help you, you tourists deserve to pay and should not expect service or courtesy.”
