resolved to the customer's satisfaction
The local post office, located at 77 Engle Street, Englewood, NJ 07631, in the town that I live is in a dreadful state of disrepair. I have voiced my concerns to the local postmaster [Mike O'Leary], yet nothing has been done.
The exterior of the building is in particularly bad shape. It appears that the wood and metal surfaces have not been maintained for years, resulting in of course pealing paint, but what is worse much of the woodwork has been exposed for so long that it is rotting in many places, and the metal work is rusting, causing the stone, brick and concrete to be stained.
There are a number of cases where exposed electrical work is visible, which may well be a fire and electrocution danger.
A stairway leading from the basement is overgrown, which may threaten the safe exiting of employees from the basement in the case of a fire.
At the east end of the building's north wall, the masonry has been left neglected to the point that the structural stability of that area of the wall is in question.
Besides these very real dangers the lack of maintenance are causing, the building's and ground's neglect sends a message of decay, incompetence and corruption.
