United States Census Bureau 2020 Census

I had the same thing happen to me today. We had already filled the survey online and someone came to our front door and told us that we had not filled out the census. So we had to fill it out again in person.

Our air conditioning was blowing out the door while we were taking this survey. The high is going to be 110 degrees today and our air conditioning can barely keep up.

Also, we are in the midst of a COVID pandemic. We are trying to socially distance and limit our exposure to other people. There is a reason why we filled our census online. There is a reason why we we will be doing mail-in voting. There is a reason why our son is doing distance learning for school. We do not want to interact with census takers when it is not necessary.

This situation should not have happened.

The U.S. Census Bureau needs to get their act together.

The Census taker could not speak English fluently. The Census taker could not tell me in English that she was a Census taker. She could not ask me in understandable English simple questions. It is utterably ridiculous that I had to find someone that could speak Spanish to complete the Census. It is unacceptable in an English speaking country that the Censu...

United States Census Bureau Census worker at my house looked like a bumb

On 8/16/2020 at 1600 hours, a man who looked like a vagrant came to my door. In light blue gym shorts and a black tank top.
This is very unnerving and my wife was afraid to answer the door.
I went out the side door and he claimed he was a Census worker and started asking questions, I told him I did not know him and I would not be answering his questions, then asked him to leave. A few minutes later he came back on my property and form D-NV (E/S) in my door.
It states I must respond under Title 13 US 141 and 193. The federal government has no legal right to enter my property for the Census survey, and once asked to leave, the Census worker should have never come on my property a second time. This was witnessed by my neighbor as well.
I filled out my Census 3 or 4 months ago online.
The government is apparently trying to gather more data than required by Census. I would like to challenge the Census Bureau and ask my congressman Michael Waltz, what gives the Census department the right to send this shabby person to my home, and make my wife worry about the homeless looking guy at the door.
I am furious.
When Washington D.C. starts acting like they care about the US citizens, then maybe the citizens may start caring about Washington D.C.
One more incident where the federal government over steps it bounds and treats the taxpayer poorly.

I expect that corrective action be taken against this Census worker and that I receive a confirmation that this corrective action has been taken.

United States Census Bureau Census worker with an attitude, why?

I live in closter, nj. I was daytrading when a census worker with glasses, short brown hair, and a gold color suv came up to my house and dented the front door by knocking on it with who knows what. He's about 6'1, very flamboyant. I demanded his name but he refused to give it to me. He wore a mask but come on! Having a stranger come to your house during a virus outbreak? Tf is wrong with you? Use common sense. He was unprofessional from the start, why so much attitude? I asked how long the survey would take and he responds by saying "we would be finished by now..." really? Within the first minute of our conversation? Ffs the guy kept rolling his eyes, sighing with his back turned away from me. He did this multiple times! Where are you hiring these folks? I refuse to get bullied by such nonsense. Thank you census worker for ruining my stock trade. I will never vote again!

Ps: the phone number for the census in the nj/ny area does not accept voicemails and no one picks up the phone; the only place you can send in your complaint is through here. Go figure!

I completed the census online on March 28, 2020. I kept a copy of the receipt.

Since then I have continued to receive multiple mailings that by law I must complete the census. Understandable for a short time after completion, but this has been notices months after I already completed the form.

Now I have census workers knocking on my door. I will not answer the door for anyone as I have underlying health conditions in the Era of COVID. And as I said I already filled the form out.

Obviously there is no tracking if you continue to mail me months after it has been done. How many taxpayer dollars are being wasted because of inaccurate tracking mechanism. You gave me a receipt number so you should know to stop mailing notices or sending people to my door.

Fed up

United States Census Bureau Multiple contacts

I completed it on line. I still received a survey in the mail, then a phone call and today a visit from someone. You are wasting valuable resources with these multiple contacts. I refused to talk with the person who came to my door.

So inefficient. Keep better records and stop contacting me. Florida 33704

Here are additional words to hit the 350 requirement.

Thank you

United States Census Bureau Unethical/illegal behavior by supposed census taker

Stephen Perkins
47 Jackman Corner Rd
Sangerville, ME 04479

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at around 4 pm two females entered my property and told me they were census takers. They did not offer to show any identification and began to ask me questions. I told them I had sent in the census forms so why are they here? They replied "then that's a refusal." Refusal? They then went to my next door neighbor (1/4 mile from my home) and interrogated him, asking my name, age, number of dependents, income, home ownership, etc.
Unfortunately he gave them what information he knew (not much). I believe this behavior is unethical at least and illegal at worst.

United States Census Bureau Employment

I would like to make a formal complaint for this year and the last census. Both times I was officially hired but never worked not one day. The last census in 2010, I even went through training and was never called for the actual job. This year they did it to me again. The interveiwer called, went through his spiel and offered me the job of census numerator, but never called me for training. Someone did call and said that training was to start on the following week. I never received another call as to where and when. I'm glad I didn't because I would not have wanted to go through another training and not work.

United States Census Bureau Manager being unprofessional

My name is michael koehler, I am filing a formal complaint against district field manager donna daub. After signing with the census back in april 2020, and after all the fingerprinting and checks I did. Ms. Daub acted in an unprofessional, bitter, short worded phone call, even to the point of ending our call by slamming the phone down. I kindly asked about getting my schedule for training and she went off wildly about how she is pressured about getting enumerators training. I am seriously concerned about having this kind of leadership doing our census and the immediate need to correct it utilizing your complete attention. — questions please call me at6106833151, that kind of behavior is totally not acceptable

Hi Michael. I'm Francine. My census field manager, Brenda, out of the State College Area in Pennsylvania was also unprofessional. I asked her why enumerators keep coming to the address across the street. I even enumerated it. The couple who lived there were dead even before the 2010 Census. Instead of saying "I don't know." She went off about how computers can't think and other procedural stuff. She then said my question was ended in a flustered sounding voice. I challenged her and I filed a complaint I haven't heard back about. Then I learn my time and expense sheet for this past Thursday were rejected. So I won't be getting paid for the 2.75 hours or 35 miles I drove. It reeks of retaliation. As a result I'm read to tell her to take her Census and shove it. If the Census has questions her number is [protected]. Mine is [protected].

United States Census Bureau Census taker

I am all for census takers but what I can not tolerate is a worker that walks onto my property with out the proper protective gear during a PANDEMIC, this is outrageous behavior.
She walked down our driveway with no mask or gloves on. She puts a mask on by our home and then stands out here for at least 5 min. I ask her to please leave any information in our Dropbox at the end of our driveway and please step away from our home. She refuses and then leaves a package on our garage door, of course wearing no gloves.
This is medically unsound procedure during a pandemic to needless expose people to someone who will not take the proper precaution. I have an elderly person at this address.
Symptoms may not show for two weeks so unless she is being test prior to leaving her car to come to my house (right, what testing) your policy is way off and unsound.

I live in a senior housing complex and the other day I had one come up to my front door and stand outside without knocking or ringing my bell. I could see the census bag thru my living room window.. They stood there for about a minute then left. Today a man shows up (without protective gear) rings my bell and when I answered asked if I could provide information about my neighbor (which I refused to do)...that's not my place to help them do their job.

United States Census Bureau Census ethnicity title

All other ethnicities that reside in the US are distinguished by their country of origin and not strictly by a 'color' or vague term but 'white' people.

'White' people no longer want to be referred to as a color. Other ethnicities recognize this as derogatory and racist.

People whom live in the US and whose ancestors are originally from European countries want our categorical ethnic Identity to reflect that and we want to be referenced as European American.

We should not be bunched into a category from people from any other region when we select an answer or are counted.

This minimizes our specific needs and representation.

We demand an end to this.

United States Census Bureau Census survey

I filled out the survey and received a confirmation that it was submitted on 11/4/19 @3:30 pm yet I am still getting phone calls and postcards saying that someone will come to my house if I dont respond. If I respond then I will be counted 2x and that will not be an accurate count- so why am I still being harassed? I am asking you to contact whoever and tell them to STOP! CHECK THEIR RECORDS. I ALREADY PARTICIPATED.

United States Census Bureau Office manager adding additional forms of id

I went for my finger printing appt at:
Cca-234 area census office
1605 spruce ave
Riverside ca 92507
9:07 am
Arrived on time, checked in. Ids were checked and ok'd by cleck.
Manager came out, (he didnt give me his name) asked me to step outside.. He said I didnt have the right identification. I showed him the email print out which I recieved from the census online dated march 6 2020, which included my hrs person id # 6468617.

The id I had on me and showed the manager are:
1. California real id drivers lic #n0160402 exp 2/8/23
2. Department of defense dd form 2765 id #[protected]
3. Veteran affairs id [protected]
All 3 are current an picture id's. Manager stated I needed social security card also, or he could not accept my id's. I showed his the census print out that I had stating required id's
Requirements are 1 picture id, and 1 secondary id... And then goes on to list 12 different acceptable secondary id's.
Instructions does not state a social security card is manditory...
Office manager stated social security card is mandatory.. Contrary to census instrutions.. And office manager refused to accept my id's.

Office manager is making up his own requirements to hire only the people he wants.. This is completely unacceptable.. I said I was going to file a complaint.
Officer manager further stated theres nobody to complain to. Well im filing my complaint here and now

I received your envelope for the census, but haven't had a chance to fill it out yet due to just having cancer surgery. I am getting harassing phone calls and constant notes on my door every day from this person. You can email me a link for it and when I feel better I can do it and tell this person to stop calling me and coming on to my property. Thank you.

United States Census Bureau Census representative not identifying themselves and trespassing

I had an issue with a Census bureau representative coming to my residence. I have completed the form and submitted it. I received no notification that the Census bureau would be coming to my residence nor did they advise my town that they would be working in the area. On August 31st at approximately 1450 hours, I was in my back yard with my dogs playing when one of my dogs ran to the front of the house . I called him back immediately with his receiver and he returned to me. My other dog was tethered. I came out front and the only statement the individual stated to me was "I rang your doorbell." He did not ever tell me who he was, what he was doing on my property or show me any ID. I advised him that all people need to notify me in advance before coming on my property. He stated he was fine and left my property. About 30 minutes later my local Police department arrived and stated he had filed a complaint against me and my dog. It was at this time I was advised that he was with the Census bureau. I advised the police that he never identified himself by name or organization nor did he ever tell me his name. The police did confirm that the town had not been notified that anyone would be out walking door to door. My dogs are both registered and vaccinated which I had to provide to the Police. I try to be a responsible dog owner and my dog is fenced by an invisible fence which he did stay in. There is a sign on my mail box that the dogs are on the property and fenced. I was shocked that the police showed up since my dog did not bite him only chased him off the property. I simply request that i be notified in advance when they are planning on going door to door and following the local requirements with the town they plan on going door to door in. Since the individual never told me his name, who he was with or showed me ID am an not able to provide this information in the complaint. The only information the police would provide is that he worked for the Census Bureau.

United States Census Bureau Too many calls

I was sent a form to complete by the us census bureau and had filled it out, but forgot to send it in. The following week, I get a phone call, while at work, from my husband stating a lady from the census bureau had stopped by and said she would come by when I get off. No sooner than I get home (6/6:30 pm) she pulls up and comes up to my house. Okay, I know she knows I just got off of work and seen that I have two young boys and a teenage daughter I have to tend to as soon as I get there! But she sits and we do this survey that too about 30 mins. She says this is to help trump figure what our country needs lmao! A couple days later, I receive called from "scam likely", t-mobile has a large list of numbers that are suspected scam so it is screened so I do not answer. After taking that half hour survey, these ppl should know that I work from 7am to 5:30pm, but they call four or five times, some times back to back from different numbers. And then they will call at least two more times in the evening, some times around 8 or 9pm. Now if bill collectors can get charged with harassment for this, so should they. My information is not going to change as often as everyday. Hell, if it is that important for trump, let me call you when something has changed. This is completely out of hand and just because they are the government should not mean they can impose on my life!. I feel that like I have spies watching my house or something, no privacy and to be threatened with a charge if I don't respond! Something has to be done.
