United Built Homes

Neither the plan nor the Home Building Agreement provided an overall square footage calculation, and we did not agree to build to a particular square footage. When these customers applied to build a home, the plan they proposed to build and submitted at application time showed a rectangular home and gave the home's dimensions as 26 feet by 44 feet, totaling 1, 144 feet. There is also a covered front porch on the home that measures 4 feet by 16 feet, or a total of 64 square feet. This means the original proposal was to build a home with 1, 144 square feet heated and a 64 square foot porch, for a total of 1, 208 square feet under roof.

These exact same dimensions were on the plans signed again by the customers at closing then on the final set of detailed plans used in construction. The completed house meets those measurements. None of these plans nor any other of the signed documents represent any square footage other than those measurements described here. We did not agree to build the home to any particular square footage but agreed to build it to the dimensions shown in the plan. That is what we built.

As for the quality, we used quality materials compliant with code, specifications and with the contract. The inside finish materials were all purchased from local suppliers and installed by local subcontractors. This is a quality home. Our goal is for our customers to be satisfied with the purchase.
