TurboTax TurboTax Premier - Federal Tax Technical Issue

I purchased Turbotax Premier service yesterday and filed my federal and state taxes with it. I received an email shortly after the process that my federal tax efiling was accepted by IRS. I also went to the IRS website as instructed by Turbotax system to use IRS long term installment payment plan and that was also preapproved by IRS.

Story starts here though. I also filed an extension after all of this as I was anxious that tax deadline was coming up and I didn't want any extra interest/penalty on my taxes ( just in case if something goes wrong). My extension was accepted as well.

This reverse process (extension efiling after federal tax efiling was accepted) messed up my Turbotax main account webpage as it now prompts me to file my federal taxes but it was already filed. I even tried to file again following the steps on Turbotax but at the end of the process, it shows me that it was already filed. However, when I go back to Turbotax main webpage afterwards, it prompts me to go back and file my federal tax again so I don't see my federal tax status as accepted on the main account webpage. It's kind of a technical error.

I can see my efiling pdf (1040) in the documents, though. I checked with a Turbotax customer representative and she assured me that my federal was filed and suggested me to come to this website to rectify this technical issue.

Desired outcome: Fix the technical issue of federal tax status on my main Turbotax account webpage.

TurboTax Turbo Tax

I was on the phone with Franklin from Turbo Tax; he asked to share my screen. Once he got on he did absolutely nothing, dead silence. So, I feel I do not know what the heck he was doing- kept asking him are you there, what are you doing because he never provided any helpful information or actually even said much. Finally, he said, I will have to refer you to a tax specialist for a fee. Now, my tax return was supposedly fairly simple. However, I did look up lawsuit and Turbo Tax; evidently they do not offer any free filing as advertised. They have conveniently made it so that you cannot access free service but will have to upgrade in order to use the Turbo Tax online filing. My concern was what the heck was Franklin from Turbo Tax doing during all the silence; was he copying my information, what the hell is going on. He literally said nothing the whole time ...Turbo Tax is a SCAM. Will try H & R.

TurboTax Turbo Tax For Tax Year 2021

Turbo Tax has failed to fix the reported problem of not being able to enter credit card information prior to E-Filing. This makes it impossible to complete the e-filing process.

For those with newer computers, the resolution may be higher than the Turbo Tax program will support. A typical user shouldn't have to research resolution issues and reset default resolution settings, and then do a restart in order to complete a form. This is not an end-user issue; the issue is how Turbo Tax responds to reported defects in workflow. Also - the system for the first time did not include vouchers for PA Estimated Taxes. Research on both issues cost me hours of personal time. I did finally call support and they reported they knew of the resolution problem but haven't fixed it - for several years. This is the last year I will purchase the software. They owe end-users an apology. I am also planning to write to Costco so that in the future they will not sell this very "buggy" and incomplete product.

Desired outcome: Refund or compensation for the time spent on getting the product to work given that this was a known defect in the product.

TurboTax Turbotax

I filed my taxes in early March it has been over a month and I have still yet to receive my full refund. I received my State and a very small deposit of $247 from TPG. I don’t know what this means but this is $1604 less than what I should have received. I’ve tried their written suggestion of contacting the IRS which I’ve done, but no progress. I’ve tried contacting TurboTax directly however, I am highly disappointed with their customer service for being such a large company ; absolutely no help after calling several times, only to be put on to an automated service.

Desired outcome: I would like ALL of my refund.

TurboTax do not use this company!

These People Are Trying To Make Customers Believe They Are The Ones Who Are Not Prepared. They Are Working On The Families And Side Hustle While Doing Quickbooks Cusotmers Taxes, But Then Delay All Of Our Paid Service, To Do Family And Friends. Then They Talk To Us On The Phone With Disrespect And Rudeness

They Deleted All The Documentation And Messages To Hide There Behaviour!

TurboTax Turbo Tax

I cannot transfer my 2020 tax to 2021 Turbo Tax because it is a PDF file. Yet when I go into 2021 to print my return, Turbo Tax requires that I save it as an Adobe (PDF) file before I can print. What the heck!

I bought another software, 2020 individual to download. I am guessing, I am guessing that it would not download because it was the second 2020. TurboTax Turbo Tax e-filing

I paid extra to efile my State Taxes only to discover that my federal taxes keep being rejected even though my AGI is correct. I double checked everything and it keeps getting rejected. Since I paid extra for e-filing state and now can not e-file because my federal is getting rejected I want a refund of the extra $40 I paid. There is no way to get a refund from Turbo Tax that I have found

. - What a rip off! I have seen other comments similar to this. Very disappointed!

Desired outcome: I would like a refund of the extra $40 I paid to to e-file state taxes that are not being accepted.

I bought a new pc and didn't transfer last year's returns to it and just started fresh. I experienced the same problem after submitting Fed & State twice with the same AGI from 2020. I then retrieved last year's return from old pc and started the return again by imported last year's information. The software then imported the same AGI number I had submitted twice but this time the returns were accepted. Go figure.

Have filed 5 returns this year. 2 of the three that were MFJ rejected because ONE of the two taxpayers were showing the WRONG AGI. The other one was good. Makes no sense, and the only solution offered by Turbo tax help is to change the rejected taxpayer's AGI to 0. This has to be a problem with Turbotax and apparently has been a problem for several years. How about fixing it?!

TurboTax Worst customer service ever

After numerous emails and phone calls without any help or response from customer service I finally tracked down my refund after 5 weeks on the phone with my bank, the irs, and many calls to turbo tax.

I've probably spent 9 hours on the phone in the last 2 weeks.

I've used tt for 6 years now and never again. I'll use some other service for sure.

After 2hours on hold today I was abruptly cut off, so I had to start all over. 5 hours of this just today!

Desired outcome: just get your act together.I know hiring quality people is too much to ask!!

TurboTax Turbotax Home and Business 2021

Error report date: 4/3/2022

Software embeds “Italy” as my residence state instead of California that I entered. Causes 5329 errors and other form errors because TTAX assumes I have a foreign address.

Software does not show my inputted business profit/loss on 1040SR.Seems to calculate on Schedule C but fails to show on summary view or on 1040 line 8.

TurboTax Peicing

I have been using Turbotax for a few years. Despite its free service, the service has charged me or pushed the client for a paid service which I tried to avoid. After completing my and a relative's taxes for 2022, the service quoted a refund that was $1400 over the IRS expected refund on both. The refund was much, much less. Plus, the IRS deducted more. Turbotax service charged us their fee. I think this will be the last year that I will use this service again.

TurboTax IRS never received 2020 tax return we paid to efile through TurboTax

IRS sent us a form that they never received our 2020 return that we were set up through Turbotax and were charged to file through turbo tax. I signed in to get help and it would only allow me to talk to a specialist if I started another return. So I started another return and it wouldnt let me schedule a call because it didnt recognize my last name. Its McDonald, my last name is McDonald.

TurboTax Complaint

Noticed that the first entry on the total income section of both my wife's and my 2020 tax year filing were omitted resulting reassessments. This, of course, was processed a year later [ i.e. February 2022] after the original filings were made. This begs the question of the assessment process when it is used to verify the adequacy o f the original filings. The word rubberstamp comes to mind turbo tax is not required to have anyone on staff to be able about tax laws or regulations and what wonders what revenue canada is certifying to when it accredits there soft ware. I and my wife are 90 years old and take advantage of the privilege granted us by the various governments of canada and it came as a shook when I heard from fellow pensioners who used turbo tax, and filed there return by way of e-file, and then forwarded a t1032, by mail, had there claims denied as revenue canada regulations require a hard copy for all documentation, including the tax filing. They subsequently learned by way of reassessment that the claims were disallowed because they had willingly revoked there privilege. Revenue canada did not notify them of this fatal flaw in there filing as they might have if it was a political donation not supported by evidence, nor was turbo tax aware of this regulatory requirement. Revenue canada even dismisses its own observation that revocation could only be brought about by a statement in writing from the pensioners making the claim of privilege. At most the privilege has been suspended by an effluxion of time in that it was late. To suggest that the privilege has been revoked is kafkian overreach and an attempt to abrogate the wishes of our duly elected governments. Perhaps it is time to limit the powers being exercised by the commissioner of revenue mister.[call me bob] hamilton.

This is the 2nd year in a row turbotax failed to file taxes right. 2020 resulted in refund being reduced by abt $1500.. 2021 resulted in me paying an addional $ 51 with penalties after indicating I was suppose $ 1249 refund. Not too shiny.

TurboTax Billing for services not provided

Turbotax auto filled income information on my return that cost me my refund. The amounts they auto filled are on the actual tax forms in the instructions. I've spent several hours on the phone and online with "customer service". They either don't want to acknowledge their error or just don't care. I didn't pay nearly $100 to file my taxes, only to receive an $8 refund.

After waiting 6 weeks for the opportunity to amend their screw ups, they expect me to pay another $50. I want my money back from the original filing so I can pay another tax service to fix it. They have ripped me off, fraud plain and simple.

Supposedly, turbotax has a taxes done right guarantee. No one I've spoken to at turbotax seems to care about the guarantee.

Desired outcome: A full refund of the cost for their original incorrect filing.

TurboTax Help with my taxes I paid the extra for help!!

I have. Been trying to log in to finish my taxes with no help! For several weeks. I had my taxes rejected last year an don't understand what I need to do to fix them. I can't even get them to pulled up to see them. I have a broke down car walking miles losing work falling deeper in the whole everyday if I could get my tax return I could fix my car an go to work. My health is not that great at 54 yrs old walking hurts my back so bad I can hardly walk when I get back! Just had a family member pass away I have no way to get to funeral. If I could just get a lone on my tax return! If I could just get in to do something with my taxes. Please if I can get help from anyone! I want to be at the funeral. If I can get this done fast. Please

Desired outcome: So I get both years done. Barrow money on it. Rent a car to make funeral. An get back fix car an be able to work.

TurboTax Turbo tax

Doing my son and daughter-in-law’s taxes.They got married June of 2021. When asked about medical expenses I said no to the question, do you have more then a certain amount of expenses. Unfortunately my new daughter-in-law informed me that she had quite a few medical expenses for a tooth and her eyes. I cannot now go back and enter medical expenses unless I change the form. It will not let me do it in the step by step. TT repeats so many questions and asks the same questions over and over so why not ask me again if I have enough expenses and walk me through all the questions to enter them.

TurboTax federal tax return

I have been contacted by IRS saying they will not process my tax return without myself having to go through numerous steps and turmoil to provide identification documentation which was all uploaded and provided to turbotax for the tax filing which occurred February 10th.

I tried to file through turbotax on February 3rd and after experiencing a reoccurring problem with their filing system that multiple teams of turbotax employees could not solve, was not able able to completely file until February 10th after I figured out the issue with their online filing system. It is March 25th and I still have not received my refund. Approximately March 20th, I received a letter from IRS stating that I needed to verify my identity before they will process my return. Phone calls to IRS result in automated robot stating to call the next day. Emails to IRS result in stating that I must go to IRS website. The website is no help. I have no access to what turbotax filed on my behalf and statements on turbotax site that says they are not responsible for what IRS does. The taxpayer is left in limbo with no return and no assistance.

This is the first time in the history of filing taxes that suddenly IRS does not know who I am, and there is no help for this.

If turbotax cannot properly file taxes for an individual and supply the identification that was supplied to them then they should not be allowed to file anyone's taxes at all.

Desired outcome: Accessible file for everything that was provided to IRS with complete transparency of what turbotax files on behalf of individual.Communication from turbotax to help resolve any issue occurring with IRS.

TurboTax Turbo Tax Premier

This program with the promise to 100% Accurate Calculations Guarantee is a joke. My 1040SR on page 2 when they added lines 25d,26,and31 the amount it showed on line 33 $5743. When I added the lines the amount was $3502. Instead of a refund of $2090. I ended up owing $151. Such a simple mistake.

On my State return on line 23, it showed that my estimated tax payments was $1121. When that amount was carried out to the next page Turbo Tax showed the amount of refund would be$2242. They doubled amount making another simple mistake. Very disappointed in the program this year!

Desired outcome: The IRS and my state corrected the Turbo Tax mistakes and let me know what I owed. I take my taxes very seriously and this was an embarrassment!

TurboTax Delux desktop

I've used turbo tax for years without issues. This year I finally had an issue and tried resolving it without any success whatsoever. The problem occurred when I tried to efile. I paid to file both federal and state and hit submit and then was told it would not transmit. I tried updating the product and rebooting. same issue, I googled and found MANY others had similar issues. Two theories were prominent. The first was that intuit no longer supported free efiling which kind of defeats the point of having it for me. The second was that you could file the federal and the issue was with the State filing. I tried this and I was able to e-file the federal but still unable to file the state. I dialed the only phone number available for support since you only find out about this issue AFTER you pay the $25 dollars to efile THEN you hit transmit. So the payment is gone and I am unable to file the state by efile and so I tried calling to find out how to get a refund. I tried for 2 hours trying to use the auto phone system to connect with a live agent. WHAT a worthless system! The robot voice seems unable to get your enunciated letters and after several attempts will say it's connecting you to a live agent and then you get silence and no-one. So - whoever is reading this I would like someone to call me about refunding my $25 dollars - evening times work best 4-10pm CST at [protected]. If I don't hear anything, I'll assume you don't care about your product and then I will also adopt the same attitude and move on to my next phase.

Next phase is... in order to get my $25 dollars back and warn others I will do the following. I will not buy anymore turbo tax products and switch to another tax software. I will NOT recommend this product to anyone from here on out. And will write bad reviews regularly wherever and whenever possible. All that could be easily avoided if you could actually talk to someone that could help.

Desired outcome: Call me to discuss how to get the $25 refund and how to actually submit my remaining returns

I had the same problem but it got worse. I had to file my state by mail even after I successfully paid for efiling. Then, when I tried to efile my fed return, I repeatedly got messages about Intuit having uncontrolled problems with the internet. Had to file my fed return by mail also. Horrible experience this year.

TurboTax Deluxe!!!

I am here to complain due to the fact that when my tax return was filed with Turbo Tax, i had entered all 14 digits of my account # and all 9 digits of the routing number. I was due to receive my refund by March 1,2022. I kept checking "Wheres My Refund" on the IRS website the status wasn't changing and my status bars were all gone. Finally, one day i checked and everything had changed and gave me the return date of March 16,2022, well before hand i had reviewed my tax return for download on my laptop and i noticed that my account number was short 3 digits, so right then and there i began to question my return and started to (try) and contact all people whom would have anything to do with my return. So with endless run arounds and unable to speak to a live human representative i find out that my funds were deposited to Metabank (Netspends banking partner) on March 16,2022 as they were scheduled to do but that also seeing that the account number was short 3 digits they wouldnt be able to forward my funds to Netspend bc of the issue and netspend would reject it causing it to be sent back to the IRS which will delay my return for whom knows how much longer now. And i know for a guaranteed fact that i triple checked my account and routing numbers due to the fact my 5 children and I are currently homeless and my tax return was our saviour to provide my children a home. I now have to explain to my kids a situation i don't understand myself. This is so ridiculous, i am beyond stressed, angered and disgusted as to why simple hard working people would be of such targets to the obviously sick, underworked thieves out there. Oh and not to mention that also my return was reduced by $3,000. I may have the solution to that issue though. I've still yet to try and solve the situation yet but I will update when I know more. Something needs done about this! I will NOT be a returning customer of Turbo Tax.

Desired outcome: I pray TurboTax fixes this by providing Metabank with the 3 digits missing off my account number. Also, I paid for TurboTax Live Deluxe for the Self-employed so to speak to a live person would be great! I also have a support ID #
