TruGreen Lack of service

I had prepaid Tru Green for the entire year. They started late with the first application and a day later my grass was dead. I take a lot of pride in my grass. I called to ask them to come out and they did a couple weeks later and threw seed down. I kept it watered but it didn't come back. I called several times to ask them to sod the burned patches and they promised it would be done by a certain date. It wasn't done. I called and called and each time they said a manager would call me back in 24-48 hours. NO CALL!. I then cancelled my service and they refunded me a fraction of what I had paid. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I want my entire money back because my lawn is ruined and what did I pay for? If I am not reimbursed I will go to court for my money and also the repair of my lawn. I really don't expect to hear from you because this is you MO. As far as me putting the dates down I would hope that you have the records and you can figure it out. THE PICTURES JUST SHOW A FEW OF THE SPOTS

Desired outcome: Money returned because at this point I don't want any TRUGREEN employee to step foot on my property

I am writing to voice my displeasure of the condition of my lawn. I am usually very proud of my lawn and landscape around my house. After Months of TruHealth Lawn Plan my lawn is a giant disappointment. The Lawn looks absolutely horrible/dead and is getting worse by the day. My lawn gets the water it needs due to my irrigation system. I am writing in order to get the necessary attention to my lawn that proves you are committed to the HealthLawn Guarantee.

TruGreen lawn care

I switched lawn care companies this year and am not happy with Tru Greens performance, both the lawn care and customer service. My lawn has brown spots everywhere even though I water frequently, I have had trouble getting notified of the date and times of service, repeated failure to return calls, difficulty talking with someone who has authority to fix the problem and lastly being blown off by the local branch manager, glen.

My lawn looks worse than my neighbors who do not have professional lawn care service. What is interesting is , I decided to try tru green when I say a truck treating the neighbor that's adjacent to my home. Now her lawn looks exactly like mine, not very healthy looking with many brown areas.

The last treatment that was done included 2 treatments at the same time and something happened causing an animal to burrow and dig up large areas along the curbside of the lawn. My lawn has never looked this bad in the y in the 3 years i lived here. So regrettably the logical cause is Tru greens handling of my lawn.

Desired outcome: I feel a partial refund is in order so I can get my lawn healthy again. Thank you karen carlisle 127 friars lane toledo ohio PH: [protected].

TruGreen Scheduling

Trugreen asked for money up front. I paid 808 bucks for a year service. Paid on June 24/2022. Sales person stated someone would be in touch with me soon. No one has called or emailed me since. I spoke to customer service, she could speak or understand English. I did catch that I have been scheduled for 7/15/2022. It seems they have my money but I have no communications with a local franchise. I used them in the past and never had a problem. The web site keeps apologizing for this because of covid. That is now a lame excuse especially when you are working out side with herbicides. At this point I know this will be a struggle because the cooperate officers don't care. America is now one big con.

TruGreen Destroyed lawn

Hired TruGreen 3 yrs ago to help with lawn after my husband died. From year one my lawn went down hill. I contacted them and was told it wold get better. Only got worse. Follow year same thing. This year I called to complain and the rep hung up on me. I called Corporate and they said someone will get back to me. Nothing. Contacted again, asked for a manager to come out. He did, said someone perhaps over fertilized it. Said, your company is the ONLY that touches this lawn and for years I have complaining about it with empty promises. His advice was to get another company. Also said aeration may help I sid that has done every year until this year. He requested I allow it and it would be free of charge. Two days I noticed that my account had been closed and of course no contact from Corporate. Now I am stuck with a ruined lawn that will cost me thousands to have fixed. The damage TruGreen has caused. The rudeness. And too bad sucker attitude is beyond unacceptable. With that, I am contacting BBB, social media and any entity I can to warn others of this.

Desired outcome: The company to care about the customer and their property. To correct their damage and not toss them away.

TruGreen Lawn service, fire ant control, perimeter pest control

In January 2022 I pre-paid $1000.62 through 31 December 2022 for 3 services — TruHealth Lawn Service, Quarterly Perimeter Pest, and Annual Fireant treatment.

To date I have chargeable invoices totalling $349.95 which has been debited from that prepayment.

TruHealth Lawn — $53.35 x3 — $160.05

Perimeter Pest — 94.95 x2 — $189.90

That leaves a balance of $650.67 in my account.

I have screenshots of my TruGreen account page showing this, as well as the original receipts showing what was chargeable and what was a free re-service. The screenshots are attached to this complaint.

There is a very long story of TruGreen's neglect, error, and failure to perform. I have been in contact with Customer Service to try to resolve this, but have been unsuccessful.

Because I can no longer expect TruGreen to perform as promised and paid for, I have been trying to cancel my account and get my remaining $650.67 prepay balance refunded to me to no avail.

Here's the whole story — What started out as great service turned into a nightmare.

I hired TruGreen in the summer of 2020, because my previous lawn service/pest control company allowed my lawn to turn into a weed apocalypse then gave me a hard time about it. So I got someone else. And for the remainder of 2020 and for the most part in 2021, TruGreen managed to rehabilitate my very sad lawn. They were responsive, came out to re-treat when asked. They were friendly and answered questions.

Life was good.

Well, except that unlike 2020, TruGreen did not use TopChoice for the yearly fireant service in July 2021. They used Advion then ignored my question as to why. Mistakes happen, I know, but ignoring the question, and then not making it right? Hm. That really should have been my first clue.

In the fall of 2021, my normally reliable single point of contact said they'd call me with a price for 2022 in mid December 2021. Mid December came and went... and my followup texts and voicemails to them went unanswered. TruGreen was MIA. The call center was perpetual holdfest, notes sent to Customer Service from the web portal were unanswered. This should have been my second hint to GET OUT.

When I finally managed to get someone to respond, I got several different prices, a promise of a call back... then more silence. I eventually just pre-paid for my 3 services via my online account because I figured they'd make it right. Silly me. Hope is just another word for denial...

Service didn't actually start until 1/17 and that was my first TruHealth lawn service for 2022. The second was on 3/8. My third TruHealth lawn service was on 4/11. [it's 5/27 as I write this...]

And aside from the free re-services for weeds (3/30, 4/18, and 5/9), and the re-treatment for fireants (that shouldn't have been necessary) (4/18 and 4/25) — they haven't been back.

My lawn, despite supplemental irrigation and a decent amount of rain, isn't growing. It is sickly and yellowish. The only thing that IS growing are the weeds.

I don't like phone calls because I prefer having a written record of interactions with vendors — it keeps things straight. And without a single point of contact this year, I use the online account portal or email to contact CS. And every time I'd send an email to Customer Service I'd eventually get 2 different responses — sometimes with conflicting or incorrect info. It's also important to note that their response time is at least 3-4 days IF at all. And God help you if you send more than one email. You may get multiple responses that will all contradict each other.

By last weekend I'd complained about weeds (AGAIN) and questioned why they hadn't been out to do the regular service since early April and... no response. The service manager, who gave me his contact info when he came out personally to take care of fireants on 4/25, was also non-responsive though he was copied on the email.

Several days ago was the point I decided I'd spent enough time trying to get them to perform as agreed. And I emailed that I wanted to cancel my account and have the remaining portion of my prepay ($650.67) returned to me. I got no response. So I texted the branch manager and... he told me to go through the call center. Wow.

So I called and managed to get to speak to someone who promised me a refund, but who didn't want to cancel my account before the refund. Oookay. She also said TruGreen would "make it right" first and get the techs out to take care of the fertilizer and the weeds and the fireants at no charge. Okay.

She even emailed me to tell me that the refund was "in process". Cool. Then I logged in to my account and saw that a TruHealth service was scheduled for 6/1. So I emailed her and asked about it. And about details of my refund. And haven't heard back since. I followed up. Silence.

This kind of runaround is probably what you can expect. When it comes right down to it — TruGreen doesn't give a damn about me, my lawn, or doing the right thing. And if they do it to me, they'll probably do it to you too.

Desired outcome: I want the refund of the $650.67 that TruGreen legally owes me. And I want my account cancelled.

As of 30 May, the credits on my credit card from TruGreen are official.

While I am relieved that the balance of my prepay has been refunded to me, the amount of work it took for me to get it was appalling.

TruGreen makes a lot of promises that they seem to have no intention of keeping. Service started off great, and really took a turn for the worse over time. Their "guarantee" seems to be nothing more than a hollow marketing ploy, based on my experience alone. And there are VOLUMES of complaints against this company to back up my assertion.

My advice to anyone considering TruGreen is : Run. If you hire them, you're basically throwing your money away. They do not care about service, honesty, or owning their mistakes and fixing them. This company is a disgrace. Look elsewhere for your lawn and pest control.

TruGreen Appointment on May 11, 2022

On Wednesday, they were scheduled between 7-12 noon. I went early to lowes since I am repairing my fence in the backyard and returned around 9:30. The usual little sign out front was placed near the road. My Mother in law was in the house during this time. I left the house hoping to return before they got there and left our two dogs in the backyard.

There were no paperwork left on my porch that usually is there after an application. I called customer service wanted to know where my paperwork was and was told that the person completed my service and had left. Well, their job was not completed as they did not apply anything to the backyard since the dogs were there and that is acceptable with me. Maybe an hour later, I received an email from this person stating that the job was completed showing how much application was spray/applied to the lawn. Now that bothers me, since I am paying for a full application front and back and this person did not complete the back, but put in the paperwork that she had completed the job.

She did not contact my mother in law who had absolutely no idea the person was in our yard.

I called to complain on Wednesday Afternoon which was May 11, 2022 on a wednesday. They asked me when could I schedule for someone out and complete the job, I told them the next day, Thursday the 12th, since Friday 13th was a washout with 80% chance of rain. We ended the call by customer service stating that I was scheduled for Thursday the 12th. I waited almost the whole day and finally called Customer service who informed my they could not see anything scheduled for Thursday.

They again asked when would be a good day and I told them Monday the 16th since I have to sit around the house and wait for them to show up. Well, I have waited til almost 5 pm today, Monday, May 16th and finally got an email from truegreen stating that my scheduled visit was set for Tuesday the 17th. I did not set this up and I have been here all day waiting for someone from Trugreen to show up. I called customer service again and talked with someone that did not seen to care one way or another if this was taken care of and I finally told him that I wanted to talk with someone from customer service above him as in maybe his manager. He told me that he typed everything I told him and that he had "bumped" in up to the next level. He also told me that he canceled tomorrows appt May17th. He then told me that it could take up to 3 business days for someone to get back with me. I am really getting tired of this. We have been a loyal customer of Trugreen for over 2 years now and have not had any complaints. I told him that if I did not hear from someone today, I was going to cancel my service with Trugreen. This is just unacceptable in many ways but really in that if I had left this alone and took everything for granted with the work completion statement I would not have known they did not complete their work. That is very troublesome to me.

Desired outcome: I want a manger that can make decisions and that can assure me that this is just a "crazy" set of events that will not happen again and that measures have been taken to assure that this does not happen to anyone else in the neighborhood.

TruGreen Unsolicited service and call harrassments

I requested service from TruGreen last year. It was a specific, time-limited service on my lawn to last for several months, but not past December 2021. Although I could not tell the difference after they supposedly worked on my lawn, I decided to keep the service through its agreed term. I made all the payments at the beginning of the agreement. When the year ended, I decided that I would work on my lawn by myself, so I did not bother to renew the service agreement with TruGreen, and no one contacted me from the company.

Then, a few months earlier this year, I began to receive calls from TruGreen "concerning your account". I was taken aback, as I was sure I had fully paid for the services I requested from the company. When the calls got persistent, I decided to contact TruGreen.

That was when I learned that the company continued their so-called lawn services AFTER the mutually agreed term ended.

I asked the company rep to send me the bill so I could know how much it was but made no promises to pay. At the same time, I made her understand that I did NOT request the service and would like it stopped forthwith.

Well, the calls have continued. I tried blocking the TruGreen's number, but the bot kept leaving me voice messages.

It is becoming a harassment now, and I need this matter resolved. ASAP.

TruGreen Charges on Credit Card

I initially signed a contract for a year to have lawn sprayed. They would leave voicemails and would do their thing. Last week (4/21) the message stated they were going to do some bug thing, I immediately called and said NO . I didn't want any additional charges and did not require anything else. Today (4/25) I noticed a charge of $117.87 and was told that "I had used up the monies that I prepaid". I asked to cancel immediately and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor.

It appears as if TruGreen is somewhat deceptive in its dealings with customers.

I had a similar experience and won't hesitate to sue them in federal court, if they keep harassing me for payment on a service I never requested.

TruGreen Lawn service ($1,050, for the year 2021)

Truegreen sent me a letter by a collection agency. I am disputing this debt. How can I owe something for them if I just bought one time from trugreen for 1 year treatment and I paid them in full. If they are sure that I am in debt, they have to provide me a copy of the agreement signed by me with the commitment with them to provide the service that they are assuming is in debt. They are very disorganized. They charged my credit card more in advance for 2021. When they showed up jan 2022 after I already canceled, I had them leave. No service was performed. Called true green and she said ignore the bill I got in the mail for 2022.

Trugreen is horrible.

Local true green guy called me and offered to do the annual service for half what I paid last year. That is why I chose to never do business with them again. True scam.

I copied another persons complaint because the exact same thing happened to me. I will call the collections company when they open this morning.

BBB complaint is next.

Desired outcome: Remove debt collection request for $67. I pay my bills. True green is a joke.

TruGreen kill my yard

1. for whole year service, my new yard is getting worse and worse;

2. finally they successfully killed it one month before the service ends;

3. managers have no ability to solve problem at all ;

4. half year past, i finally forgot this painful time and i receive a letter saying that i owe them huge money from a third party to collect for them

I will never never tough this horrible company , really a experience

TruGreen worst lawn in the neighborhood

I have called and called written and written to Tru Green locally in the Raleigh area... I have asked that someone who knows what they are doing come and walk the acre why the grass does not grow. The house to the left of me has another lawn provider.. and his lawn full and green. The house to the right the guy takes care of it himself.. and is lush. The common area across the street - only gets cut and it is extra lush.. There are 15 homes here and my lawn is the worst. I only ask to be the second from the worst. If I were Tru Green I would never put a sign out saying this lawn is cared for by Tru Green. Think it would be useful for a Tru Green exec to become an Under Cover Boss... and experience what the client sees. [protected].

TruGreen Neighborhood disturbance

Trugreen arrived at roughly 6:40am on Saturday 3/26 and sat there doing nothing for nearly 20 minutes until I got dressed and tried asking the driver to turn off his loud engine. He declined to do so but shortly after our encounter, he departed.

Desired outcome: I and my neighbors would appreciate it if Trugreen would idle at a public parking lot rather than on a quiet residential street.

TruGreen True gereen lawn services

It is a lousy irresponsible company that has no organization. All calls are handeled or rerouted to foreigners in Carribean who speak broken English which is difficult to understand. There are no dispatch, managers or customer service to handle complaints. We waited for technicians for a whole day to show up but no one showed up or called.

true green export jobs to foreigners in foreign countries who do not speak English or have such a bad accent and broken english pronounciation that it is difficult to understand them. the company export job tyo foriegners who are incompetent to help customers. i had to make 7 calls in one day to find out if a contractor will show up today and i could not get any answer. the contractor did not show up and my time wasted for the whole day . this is a disorganize broken company which has no respect or value for customers and cares only to cheat customers out of money and providing bad service.

Desired outcome: hire american who speak our language of english. provide dispatch . PROVIDE A DISPATCH WHO CAN MANAGE AND REPORT THE TIME TECHNICIANS ARE SUPPOSED TO VISIT HOMES. MAKE SURE YOUR CONTRACTORS SHOW UP FOR WORK.

It is an incompetent disorganized company who lie to customers. The main goal is to make money regardless of the service. technician do not show up and they never call. salespeople lie to prospects about the company and service. There is no dispatch to arrange technician time and inform customers of the visits. All calls, regardless of what the calls are, are routed to poor countries of Carribean answered by uneducaed and uninformed foreigners who do not speak English or speak with such a lousy accent that is difficult to understand. No one is responsible for service in this fraud company and ther is NO customer service or customer complaint department but they are plenty of sales people pushing fraudulent services!

TruGreen Lawn care

I had my front lawn replaced with zoysia grass in late November of 2020. In January of 2021 I hired and paid $547 to Tru-Green for a 12 month lawn care.

They came in January and began servicing my lawn. I started getting sedge growth and informed them of the same. Supposedly they put applications of some kind of sedge killer and as the sedge multiplied weekly, until by July my entire lawn was infested with sedge, overtaking my entire lawn. I was always given a receipt with recommendations to water my lawn and making me aware of the new growth of noxious weeds in my lawn. They were treating it. Why wasn't it going away. One morning in August I woke up to my lawn dying. I immediately contacted them and they came out to see it. Yes, they agreed that it was dying because I wasn't watering. That is not true. I am allowed 24K gallons per quarter and have to pay for anything over that I had to pay for. I live alone and never used 24K gallons, but because I was watering I received a bill for 48K gallons of use. I had been told early on by a Tru-Green representative that I should placed a tuna can in my yard to measure that one inch of water was in there. I did this. Tru-Green not only did not eliminate the sedge, they killed my lawn. Now that I have no lawn, I have received an invitation to "come back" to which I wrote notes all over the form reiterating what I have said here and mailed it back to them. They offered me no relief to replace the lawn they had killed.

Desired outcome: I want them to replace my lawn. I followed all of their directions and I feel that they were not able to adequately care for my lawn. Even if I wanted a refund, it wouldn't cover the replacement of my lawn which has been quoted at $1,200.

TruGreen Services not performed yet billed

I received an email stating my lawn had been serviced. Typically there is a yard marker and notice of service posted on my door. There was still snow on the ground and no notice that they had been here. I immediately sent a return e-mail to them stating my concern. I heard nothing from them. Later I received an invoice in the mail and called a customer service number for Greenville SC and was transferred to some call center in the Caribbean I explained to the lady what had occurred. There was a language barrier and I wasn't convinced she understood and called the number again and had a different foreign lady. I told her the same thing and this time I told her I had no intention of paying and to cancel my service.

TruGreen TrueGreen Playing Cat and Mouse with Refund

TrueGreen talked by wife into a bulk pre-pay of over $800. After a few months it was clear in the lawn that it was turning yellow. Now they call us and when we answer the phone they seem to not hear us and hung up. So we call back and they "leave a note" to call us back for the next rep. This process goes round and round every day with no end in sight. This has been going on for 4 days now and they refuse to issue the refund without talking to us but they can't seem to do that and they only try once a day.

Desired outcome: Full refund after not only making the yard worse but causing us this much inconvenience.

TruGreen Pre Paid Lawn Service Killed my Lawn

2nd Treatment this year burned the entire back yard. New tech applied wrong or too much chemicals to Fall Season grass burning it within two days of application. I went Round and Round with customer service and matter is still not resolved. They tried to aerate and re-seed which did nothing as they did not even apply a straw to hold the seed in place. It all washed down into my slate path and I now have grass growing where it should not.

I have canceled my service and still trying to get my money back. So much for the 100% satisfaction guarantee!

Disappointed to say the least!

Desired outcome: Send a specialoist to test soil and create a plan to fix the damage.

TruGreen aeration service back on OCT 2

Trugreen came out on oct 2 and i am assuming he was a trainee because there was another gentlemen just sitting in truck doing nothing until he came to check out the damage worker one did to my yard and decided to throw some seed down and leave the scene. They also left a huge oil stain on my driveway. I called and complained and still not resolved. The customer service department is a joke. They will take your name and note the complaint and will say a manager will reach out. If you are unable to pick up the phone right when they call and have to call back you are forced to go back in the ridicules round robin customer service again. Just a vicious circle. I sent pictures of damage and still nothing.

TruGreen lawn and bush care

I was talked into prepay for a great discount. Had good success for the first 6 treatments, on the 6th I notice the tec. after normal spraying from the truck, he put a back pack and went around the front yard spraying. The next day the yard started turning yellow and in a couple days 1/3 rd had died and I sent emails, called left messages. Finally got thru and they sent the supervisor out and he said it was somethings else causing the problem, I ask what and that is was that last tec. he just told me a bunch of BS and sent another tec. out and retreated, again more grass died, they retreated 6 time total and each time I lost more grass. The supervisor came out and planted plugs of grass, a waste of time. The front yard is almost total gone and they wont do anything but ruin my yard, now mostly dirt. I canceled my service. I'll have to finish killing my yard and resod in the spring. I'm so upset I don't know what to do. I did ask for my money back.

Desired outcome: I think they should pay for the resod.
