Tropical Grand Vacations Called to congratulate me on winning a holiday

Dear Sir
I received a phone call out of the blue to my landline in Northern Ireland The caller was Shelly Adams from Tropcial Grand Vacations in Orlando who advised me I had won a holiday:-
5 days & 4 nights at Orlando Hotel, 2 unlimited hopper passes either universal or disney,
3 days & 2 nights Daytona beach at Floridas Ocean club
3 days & 2 nights Bahama cruise from Fort Lauderdale
Ref no TV1 [protected].
I would have to pay a min of €299 per location. 2 adults and 3 children could avail of this package.
Further I had 30 days advance notice if I wished to withdraw. Shelly happily said she would forward all details to my email address which she had and also to my home address which she had. She then transferred me to her boss who took my credit card details.
Nothing arrived either by email or post and when I finally received my statement I call the no she had given me ([protected]) from Norther Ireland or UK. It would not work.
I called my bank seeking advice on what to do. They advised me of the address and I wrote to the above address.
Still nothing, I was advised to send a registered letter to them which I did - still nothing.
I visited Florida on the 1st May and on the 7th May attempted to drive to the address in Longwood but I could not find it.
On my return home I have ordered a charge back from my bank but they have advised me I may have left it too late.
I was charged 635.87 euro which would be the equivlent in US dollars of the amount mentioned by ms Adams.
It is worth mentioning I was advised by Ms Adams that the company was associated with RCI Real Estate, tel no [protected]. who had contacted me and I had advised I would perhaps be interested in purchasing a condo in Orlando. However when I was in Orlando between the 6th and 7th May, RCI advised me they not only were not afflilated with this company but not heard of them.
Please advise how I should proceed in order to retrieve this money? It has totally put me off going to Florida as a tourist.

i received an offer by phone for a holiday offer to florida which i purchased foolishly i then told my children about it, but when i rang the hotel to confirm a booking they never heard of them . i then contacted them which i then got abuse on the phone i am now have been to my soicitor to try and retreive my money so i can take my children on holidays i am also in contact with the usa to get these people prosecuted hopefully some good will come out of it...

Company called me and offered a greatr USA package. I asked them constantly thru phone conversation if I can get a refund if I change my mind and was guaranteed that I would by a Victoria Bradford, John Ramos and George Adams. I have since tried to call the [protected] number and it always rings out. I have also sent a letter requesting a refund twice and also sent emails all with no reply

The guest above (Danielle Clarke) bought a vacation from TGV in June and never cancelled until October. As per the terms you have 30 days. She was clearly beyond her time, however we would be more than happy to extend her vacation allowing her time to travel

Tropical Grand Vacations SCAM

Somebody phoned me last night from tropical grand vacation. I am NEVER a sucker for these kind of things, but I gave out my card details. I didn't want to give out my credit card details, so I only gave them my debit card details.

They wanted £495 from me. I knew there wasn't enough money on this account, so how could they get the money then? They did it while i was on the phone with them and the told me that there is something wrong with my card.
I knew it was insufficient funds but the lady said they were going to try again. She came back after a few minutes and told me that it was a mistake from their side and everything is done. I knew it was a scam because they didn't even take the amount that we agreed upon. I immediately phoned te bank to put a block on this, but they told me that the transaction is already processed and I can't do anything about it. They took £395 out of my account.
Im not even sure if I am going to get their promised parcel. and if i get it, is there any way that I could get the money back. because from what I am reading, nobody gets their money back, eventhough they've cancelled within the 30days.
please help me? how can i get my money back?

Caroline, your words of wisdom are so heartfelt and welcome - NOT.

Tania, as this was done through the bank you will have to raise a fraud complaint with them. Which bank are you with? If you are with the royal bank of Scotland and have a royalties gold account then this should be sorted out in no time.
Please also go to the federal trade commissions website and lodge an official complaint with the details of the company and who you have spoken to.

www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov this is an American website but I think this company is America's problem and the American government should deal with it.

I can only say the governments should be ashamed that there are business's in America or any where in the world that are allowed to conduct business in this manner - and I’m afraid to say that it is up to us to stop it happening any longer - please do register an official complaint - tis the only way to do it...

First of all your information regarding a company that is offering you a discounted vacation is to simply promote their host resort for good word of mouth advertising. If you're SMART consumer you would know that your credit card company protects you 100% and will do a charge back during any one year period of time after transaction took place. Your credit card company protects you so if you want YOUR MONEY back then call your credit card company the numbers located on the back of your card, it should begin with 866, or 800. Really, and I thought Americans were stupid. YOu people from the UK are more ###ed then Americans these days. Don't you know anything about your credit card company, or the consumer protection act? Try googling that information, you can thank me later.

For those ###s out there who havent even recieved your package, why havent you called your credit card company to ask for a refund? Why are you insisting to call the company for one? CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY, OR BANK. SERIOUSLY! Next time you post negetive feedback on here just remember that there's people reading this that are wondering how you got so dumb.

Tropical Grand Vacations Free Holiday Possible Scam

Holiday purchased November 2017.

Further to my posting on this site I am pleased to report it would appear I have been given my money back by Tropical Grand Vacations.
I wrote to them at their address listed within the 4 weeks of purchasing the holiday. I explained my partner did not want to go on this holiday and despite me not receiving any documents (as they promised to arrived between 14-16 days by recorded delivery etc) and trying to contact them many times via telephone to cancel the said holiday, I wished to have my money back. (The telephone number they gave me, and the one listed on their website was not in service). I delt with a Vincent Caviello at point of sale and I believe Mr Stephen Rice may be the owner of Tropical Grand Vacations/Matza Marketing judging by what people have said on these complaints forums.
Good luck to anyone still trying to get their money back.

I received a phone call to say I HAD WON a holiday to Florida for four people. I was overjoyed and was asked for £489. I said I would phone the company back after I had asked my husband but they said they needed the money right away as they would have to offer the holiday to someone else. I paid with my debit card, got the companys name and telephone number and they gave me a confirmation number. After a few days I told them that we would be unable to accept the holiday and could I get a refund.
Sally Jay, who sent me all the e-mails that I have copies of, Said I could get a refund and it would be sent to me 30 days after the 14th August. I had closed the account that I used to pay the holiday so I phoned them up last Wednesday to ask when my money would be sent, but a lady said I would not be getting it as I cancelled the holiday too late, they wanted 30 days notice, which I had already given them and I have got it down on paper.

I also received a phone call on 2nd sept 2017, offering me 14 day holiday to orlando with a cruise to bahamas for 4 days included, for 2 people but if 3 or 4 people wanted to come they could get free tickets too they informed me i would be responisble for airport ground charges and hotel taxes. the cost of the holiday was worth 2500 but i would only need to pay 249 pp, they gave me a web site address to check to prove it was legit, luckily it was a false web site and i checked while i was on the phone. I never handed my details over but others beware. I spoke to an american guy called Mike Jones and it did sound real so please be careful

Received phone call from Tropical Grand Vacations congratulating me on winning an 11 day holiday in Florida, spoke with a man called John Ramos detailing 4 nights in Orlando with 2 Uniiversal Studios hopper pass 2 nights at Daytona Beach and3 nights in Fort Lauderdale at an amazing price of £249.00 per person for 2 people and 3rd & 4th person going free - a price that would normally be £2399.00 per person! I used to be a travel agent and a whole holiday for 4 people wouldn't cost that and this did not include flights, car hire or airport and hotel taxes! Luckily I looked them up on Google and found many comments that they were operating a holiday scam. I started reading out what I had fould on this site and they hung up on me!
So thankyou all for sharing your experiences on the net - I could have been another victim.

I am based in England. I received a telephone call from TGV instructing in me that I had won a free holiday. On further investigation it would seem it was not free at all. You had to pay £499 for a family of four but they insisted it was all luxery and retailed at £3099. This did seem like a good offer. On further questioning they said I had "won" this holiday because I was an owner of a Visa Card. When I checked with the visa card company they said they do not give out this information to anyone. Sadly I did give them my credit card details to the value of £249 and have not had any documentation through regarding this holiday. They said it would take 14 - 16 days for this to arrive and I would have to sign for it etc. It all seemed fairly plausable at the time. Please do not fall for this. It appears a lot of people have lost money. Generally if it sounds too good to be true it is! Am am in the process of getting my money back and will let you know if I am successful.

Was phoned by this company today offering me a 90% discount on a 15day holiday to Orlando, Daytona Beach, Ft Lauderdale, plus a cruise to the Bahamas for 4 people for only 498pounds! Just had to pay for flights and transfers. Was very tempted but as my husband was not around I said I had to check with him first. They said I needed to make the full payment there and then and when I said I couldn't they were very forceful and difficult to get off the phone...so I hung up, thankfully! Told my husband when he got home and after googling the company found all these reports of it being a scam! Very lucky escape!

I hope no one else goes through this. a couple of months ago, I was very low and stressed, I had been having trouble with children in my area and they had set alight to a fence right by my house and I had to call the fire brigade, thankfully they turned up just in time. When I went back into my house I felt very low then the phone rang and said I'd won a holiday and to press 9. At the time I was feeling low and stupidly thought oh great something good has happened so unfortunately I pressed 9 and I got put through to some American lady who said i'd won a 14 day holiday to Florida, she rambled on for ages and said I would only have to pay £549 for this holiday, to which I replied saying i'm very sorry but I don't have enough money so then I got put through to this guy apparently the head of the department who said they'd do me a deal for £249! and stupidly I went along with it but then I stopped and thought about it and asked if I could get out of it and they said know, you'll have to wait to receive your pack and put the phone down, but which time the transaction had gone through, they did assure me that to get a refund. As soon as they put the phone down I tried calling back and it just rang and rang and rang, I tried the next day and spoke to someone who was extremely rude to me and demanded to know why I wanted to cancel. They also said I would have to write in (to America so more money!) to get my refund. I wrote to my credit card company and they said they would look into it, about 3 weeks later I heard from my credit card company and they said they could not help me. I then called Tropical Grand Vacations again and she said you must write in, I did say to her I would have done but I sent emails asking for the address to send letter to and got no reply which was beyond frustrating! So I asked her again what address do I need to send the letter to? She replied with I don't know we've got offices all over the place. How are you supposed to write in to get a refund if you're not given an address?! I was very very upset and felt so stupid. I've never been spoken to the way they have spoken to me, I don't know how they sleep at night. I am trying to sort something out but I don't' think i'm going to get my money back so it's a hard lesson I've learnt. I would like to publicise what happened as much as possible so it never happens to anyone else. I don't understand how they are even an eligible business!

i love florida and go there quite a lot, i cannot understand why people will fall for these so called offers when you can get some great deals from reputable companies, especially if you can go soon after booking ( lastminute )one thing i will say is, it is true when they say "if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is, , , , , , , if you are confident enough to book flights/villa or hotel/ and car hire seperate you can save some money, , , for instance car hire for two weeks can be expensive this is mainly the insurance, if you go to floridacarhire.com it is even cheaper than holiday firms or even direct with car hire companys (dollar alamo )check these prices for yourself, also a villa can be a lot cheaper than a hotel shop around and also haggle as these villa owners are also feeling the pinch and cannot sell all available weeks, flights i think are better done with companies such as thomson/monarch/thomas cook and airtours, get an internet price first then phone them( i like to phone them about 20-30 minuted before they are closing and just pester them for best price, they want to get home and seem more willing to close a deal) as long as you can make all these fit your dates you honestly should save money, so i hope this helps but please put the phone down on these people if they are that good with prices they wouldn`t have to ring around us all ...enjoy your next holiday and good luck in your search

got phone call on 29/02/09 saying i had been seleced for 80% reduction on a holiday to florida which sounded great i gave them my details for my credit card they told me it was invalid (which it wasn't) but i then gave them my debit card details then all of a sudden the phone went dead i started to panic as they had not given me any caontact details so i googled tropical grand vacations and saw this page i cancelled my debit card luckily they had not tried to take money yet but when i rang my credit card company thay had tried to take £598.00 and when that was refused they tie £301.00 luckily i had been using my card and was near the limit so the creditcard company refused it hopefully i have been lucky but please if they phone you put the phone down they are conmen and are very good at what they do

Like I have said many times, we are not a scam we travel our customers even though it took a few attempts for this customer to get a refund doesn't mean we haven't tried. Alot of these customers will cancel their credit cards and when we tried to reverse the charges the accounts no longer exsists.

i got a call today saying i have been selected to win a holliday in floirda for 11 nights in one of the top10 grand 5 star hotels, if i could take this holliday with in the next 6weeks-18 month time ?, i said yes, she told me her name was keonbria vinson and asked what was my home phone number to check what i have won so i told her she asked me my name and if i was to go on holliday who would i take i said my family, husband 5 kids and she ask there ages, she asked me when was the last time ive been on holiday i said 7 years. what do i fine easyer to use when on holliday visa, master card or any other credit card?. i said i dont have a credit card .she then asked if i have a debit card ?. i said yes visa she told me her componey web site so i can see that what the holiday looks like and what i would be getting so she gave me this address = www.tropicalgrandvacations.info/uk
so i put it in while i was on the phone to her and i just got a web serch so i read to her what was on it so she could tell me wich one to look at, she was going to ask her maneger for help but then i looked a bit ferther down and sore there web address but it said tropical grand vacations compaints and soon as i said that she put the phone down and cut me off. while i was on the phone to this women it sounded like a small call center, so they must have lots of people do this scam. im so glad i didnt give my details to her because there was no holliday it was just a con, scam, fraud . and after she cut me off i looked on that web site and other web links and there has been so many people that have been con by these people saying they have won a holliday and given there detail to them ie home address, bank, credit card details, names, date of, mother madin name, place of birth, etc . and there money has been taken out of there account with no recipt no hollidays no nothing they have been conned and they have tryed to chase them but some people say the compomney doesnt exsisted. these people must be stoped

i agree with everyone its a scam /ripp off/ fraud /fake.
Never give your details out to any one over the phone. post or inter net.
ie mothers madin name, your name, home address, phone number, place of birth, date of birth, passwords, bank account number or any other bank detail, credit card details or any other personal infomation.
if some won says you have won something or you have been selected to win something, or would you be intrested in an investment, bisness, time shere, or someone in need of help and need some money, or they are debt recovorey componey, DO NOT BE FOOLED. ITS NOT REAL THEY ARE FAKES CON ARTIEST. if it real and you have won something why do you have to pay for it or put money toward sit ?!
if its a real debt agency tell them to write to you first you want it in writting and then you can phone the componey or check that it is them . if some thing is to good to be true but you got to give an answer yes now because it will be gone and be given to someone els, they are playing with your emotions so they can ripp you off/ con you . DO NOT BE BULLED. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE.

Tropical Grand Vacations Travel Scam

I was rang by this compant selling travel packages. When I hung up I googled them and was made aware of the potential scam. I then rang my financial institution to stop payment but it already had gone through. After contacting Tropical Vacations I was told to wait for the package to arrive which I then sent back and have still not received a refund. The original point of contact was on the 14th June. They do not answer e-mails or the phone. I have exhausted lots of avenues with no luck!

I could not even find yoru office in Longwood when I was in Orlando last week but I will am determined you have my hard earned cash reimbursed as this has never happened to me before.
Why did Shelly Adams lie to say you were part of RCI ?
I have been in Touch with an attorney based in Miami who will be in touch with you.
I am due back in Florida in June so I will know the outcome then

Tropical Grand Vacations Fake holiday /Money instead prize

One morning in June this year whilst on duty I received a n unsolicited call on my mobile from Tracy *smiling* Reed saying Dont put the phone down you have won a fantastic prize. I asked her how she got my number but she continued on about the free holiday I had won for myself and up to 4 friends/family. I immediately asked her if they were paying for the call or whether after the call Id find I had. She described *my prize* as 5days- 4nights at the Calypso Cay hotel in Orlando Florida which she added was a 5 star hotel! the prize also included 2 unlimited hopper passes to Universal studios full free use of the amenities including V.I.P. facials private beach with miles of white sand. also included was a ocean cruise on a luxury ship 3days 2 nights visiting Daytona beach all services included. also included a visit to Fort Lauderdale 3days and 2 nights where we could water ski all hotel transfers phone calls from room free and taxis included .The holiday was extendable for up to 18 months or transferable if I suddenly could not go! She finally said all this for only £249 per person! I said wait a minute how can I win a holiday that I have to pay for? She said I m offering you a holiday including the 3rd and fourth person all in for £498. I said I felt she had a problem and if a supervisor was available she should put him/her on as I was puzzeled.I then spoke to someone called Jennifer who ran promotions I said you phone me out of the blue showering me with prizes and fabulous offers when I don't have a passport, I am a health service worker ie don't get proplonged holidays or sufficient pay to go away and meet the bills at home. She said oh I see well you can have the cash alternative of £498 I was taken aback she asked for my address and assured me my cheque was in the post. I have never heard from them again. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!

Well me and my husband have jusy recieved the same phone as all of you!. We did not believe what we were beinging told so luckily we did not give our credit card details over the phone and never would to company like this...
We are discusted that these's people are scamming hard working people out of there money to pay for something that is not true. We were also given the wrong email address but luckily I found this one with all the complaints on it. I have phone the police and trading standers and hopfully they will follow this up...
Please remember people IF IT'S TOO GOOG TO BE TRUE THEN IT USALLY IS! from Michelle & Andy in ENGLAND.

Tropical Grand Vacations Free holiday to Orlando

I had a random call to my home number today informing me that I have won a holiday to Orlando for 5 days and Fort Lauderdale for 3 days. I was told the discounted price and given a website to look at. I was then passed onto a Supervisor for verification. She wanted me to pay £498.00 on my credit card and then she would send me a package detailing the holiday. I told her I wanted to discuss it with my husband. She basically accused me of not being able to make a decision on my own! How rude! She then dropped the price to £390.00. I told her that even if she dropped the price to £10 I would still want to discuss it with my husband first. She then put the phone down on me!

Does anyone have an email address that I could write to to complain about this? I have found one for customer services on www.tropicalgrandvacations.com but I really wanted to send it to someone in authority. Thanks.

I have just received a phone call (London UK) from someone who claimed to be from Calypso Kay resorts in Orlando. He said I had won a wonderful award. when I asked where he got my number from he said from partner credit card companies such as visa, mastercard etc. I said I want to know exactly who gave him my number. Her was very persistent and I was too. I wanted to know where this company got my number and why they were calling me. Eventually he put my number down.

Someone somewhere is selling our phone numbers to these companies.

Being new to the whole credit card thing, I got sucked into spending $598NZ. I know it sounds really imature of me, and I mustve been crazy at the time! I am now finding it really hard to get my money back. Can anyone please give me advice? Begging for help, LeeAnne

Been there! I posted an add here and got very good advice about how to get my money back. The vacation company has approx 6 alias! I Called my credit card company Master card and complained. They hired a mediator and got my money back! Roses to Mastercard for the great job! Incoidently if there is any doubt that this might have been a legitamate company, I recieved an anyonous email with the word LIAR written in it. Very unproffessional and a real company would never respond "anyomously" or in such a rude fashion. Scam artists always show their true colors folks!

i had the exact same thing today, a american women rang me, it started off with a recording saying i had won a holiday to florida going to dayatona, orlando etc. they offered it to me for £498 for 11 nights i then asked to call them back so i could think about it and they said no its a one off chance. they then asked for my card details and i said i do have that money in the bank at the moment and she put the phone down on me. WHAT A SCAM!

Tropical Grand Vacations Fake holiday offer scam

I received a phone call on May 18, 2008 from Tiffane Jordan of Tropical Grand Vacations, USA offering me an 11 day holiday for 4 in Orlando & Daytona, Florida to be taken within the next l8 months. It was transferable & expendable with no restrictions. It sounded too good to refuse, so I gave my credit card details knowing there was a 30 day cool-off period. The following day, I decided not to go ahead with the deal so tried ringing the number they provided for 2 days. It does not exist in the USA. Its a Northern Ireland number. The internet address given to me does not exist.

I googled TGV. The phone number for "Australia" is actually for the Calypso Bay Resort in Florida. I spoke to them to cancel the offer& left my phone & email details & still haven't heard back. I canceled my credit card that day, but it was too late, they'd already debited my account. I've not received anything from Matza Ltd or TGV in 2 1/2 months & of course my cool off period has well & truly expired. I'm now trying to recoup the money they debited & would appreciate hearing from someone involved in Matzo Ltd of Tropical Grand Vacations urgently. I've been duped, sucked in & scammed & am very unhappy.

They have started calling with a different name now - Calypso cay resorts and now they offer free cruise trip to bhamas .. total 18 days for 4 people ... 598 pounds... inclusive of car rental

The manager i spoke to is was rude when i asked for some time to decide...

I got a call on my landline no., on the 5th June'2008, from Tropical Grand Vacations and they told me that I am the chosen person for a promotional offer for a 11 day holiday package to Daytona, Florida and Orlando for just402.90 pound, and that they had got my no. from my bank. I was very excited by the offer, and gave my card details to them. After a few days however I decided to cancel the holiday and asked TGV to refund my money by calling, emailing and posting letters of cancellation to their address. Every time I call their phone no, somebody picks up the phone after about half an hour and gives various excuses not to be able to refund the money, its been going on like this since last 4 1/2 months now, and just today only after reading all their scams on the internet, I have come to know that they are frauds. So if anybody from TGV is reading this, I would like to tell you one thing that you will never be able to enjoy other people's hard earned money, so fear the God and stop cheating people.

I also received a phone call congratulating me on winning a holiday for 14 days consisting of stay overs in Orlando and Florida. The offer was to good to refuse as my son had just recently moved to america it would have been nice to visit him. My credit card details were given the money was taken and that has been the last I have heard from it. This was two months ago.

Back in July 08 I was telephoned at home by Tropical Grand Vacations to offer our family a Florida Holiday for 11 nights to Florida and Datona which included Disney Park Passes for a deposit of £398.00. We dealt with a Mr Jordan. As my husband took the call and I wasn't in he asked them to call back the following evening so he could discuss the offer with myself. They did ring back the next eve and I gave ou credit card details over the telephone to them. I then noticed all these complaints so immediately rang the company back to cancel my deposit, but it was too late as they had already taken the money from my card. As I thought it was a scam I cancelled my credit card with my Bank. I telephoned Tropical Grand Vacations the next day to cancel it with them and they advised me that I had to wait for the official confirmation letter to arrive and then send it back to them and they would then refund my deposit back on to my card. The person who was dealing with this refund was a Sally Jay in Customer Services. I have e-mailed them, sent back the Confirmation letter, rang back numerous times, but I kept getting 'fobbed' off with different excuses. I was informed that I had 30 days to cancel this booking with them after receiving their official confirmation, so I was well within my rights to have this money refunded back on to my card. I rang them in January to request this refudn again and was told that Sally Jay had been given the 'sack' by the company and the person I then spoke to was a 'Candy Bailey' who had taken over her and was looking at all her accounts that she was supposed to be dealing with.
At present this lady is still looking into my complaint. I just wanted to inform any other family that is trying to get their monies refunded by this company to go to their Credit Card Company, photo copy all relevant confirmation letters from them with a letter of complaint and ask them to investigate it for you (there is no cst involved at all) Then your Credit Card Company will return the charge to their merchant bank in the USA. To do this you need to have the Transaction details to send to your credit card company, the date it was taken, the card no, the amount and on your statement send them the transaction number - Tropical Grand Vacation are called 'City Link' and get your bank to refund the monies back onto your credit card.
I have just heard from my credit card company that they have managed to refund my monies and they have now been credited to my card. This has taken 7 months of 'heartache'. So if this situation happens to any other families, just go straight to your credit card company with all the relevant transaction details as it is so much quicker than waiting for Tropical Grand Vacations to do it for you!. My Credit Card Company only took about 2 weeks to complete the matter for me! regarding this company being involved in 'scamming', I really do not know, I am just so thrilled to get my refund back!

Tropical Grand Vacations phoned me out of the blue on 22nd September 2008 offering me a holiday in Florida at four locations for £498 valid for up to four people. It was not until I received documents from them on 6th October that I realised that the holiday was for accommodation only. On 13th and 17th October I advised Tropical Grand Vacations by e.mailthat I wish to cancel the holiday. I also wrote on the 17th October returning the dcouments unsigned. I also telephoned on 25th October as I had not heard from them. I was informed I could not cancell as 30 days had elapsed.This is not so. Their terms and conditions states that cancellation can be made within 30 days from date of purchase or receipt of the vacation certificate whichever occurs the later. I was not aware any money had been taken from my account until I received my monthly ststement on 15th October. I have asked for my money £498 to be returned to me but to date 25th December have had no response. Tropical Grand Vacations have breeched the contract and mislead me regarding the sale of the holiday.

I received a call Congratulating me on receiving the Florida Holiday they gave me the full details of the Hotel and the area of Orlando and the length of Holiday 5 days - also highlighting the 8O% discount the holiday was offered to be booked within a period of I8months - I was transferred to another caller and he was asking for my card details - I said NO! because I'm I not ready to book the holiday as I'm not sure of how many of us are coming & for how long - HE PUT THE PHONE DOWN!

I recently received a call out of the blue from people saying I had won a dream holiday and it seemed too good to be true. I am wise enough to do my homework when something seems like this so I checked the internet and asked my uncle (who is a security officer for a big cruise liner firm in the states).

The internet was littered with complaints about this company. I asked the caller how they got my details and was told I had probably stayed in one of their resorts before. This is not true! I then asked for a list of resorts to be sent to me so I could check them out. They refused and tried to distract me with the offer again at which point I hung up.

I have received one call a week since then and I just hang up. Don't trust people who offer you things for a fraction of the cost over the phone and NEVER pay up front without some sort of guarantee. If they really want to sell you their product they will send correspondence or a representative.

I was phoned on the 25th August 2008 and was told i have won a holiday at 70% discount to florida for six nights and had to pay only £498.00 plus air fares. I told them very polity that i was not interested and she replied why are you still on the phone then to which i replied that i was not rude to just put the phone down and she replied well i am and down it went. How can humans be so vile to others.

tropical grand vacations telephoned me out of the blue and gave me a very convincing story about how I could have a wonderful holiday for a great price in florida. whilst I was interested I didn't give them permission to debit my card but I did give them my card details. They took the payment immediately and I have not received any details from them.

I definately agree with all the inocent people like me who got conned by these ### who should be shot.Why on earth did the authorities alow such a fly by nite company to operate allowing innocent people like us to be conned from around the world. I live in Melb. Australia I had a phone call giving me cheap holidays to Florida and I innocently accepted it thinking that I would like to go to Disney World with the family. I paid for the holiday using my credit card US$598.00 and that money was taken out immedaitely that same evening.Their Bank is called MATZA LTD. We were posted all this information on the email and a confirmation letter was sent by mail to us through DHL 10 days later.. We were told to check our hotels at the web called Calypsocay.com Resort we did that and was excited about this. They gave my their no to call them [protected] for austraslian guests email at tropicalgrandvacations .com. I was emailing them a bit but then they got slacked and dropped off when I said that I wanted to booked my vacation on that particular time i.e. January 2010. No one ever got back to me I tried in vain and also got mu cousin who lives in Florida to check them out, she tried calling but no answer. Their address Tropical GrAND vACATIONS, 851 East SR 434, sUITE 120, lONGWOOD, fLORIDA 32750 USA. Now we are poorer by US$598.00 for being such fools and unable to go on a holiday with the kids. Could the authorites kindly look and check out these conartists and help innocent and hardworking people like us. We need to get our money back to go on a holiday.

I too got conned, but tried to immediately cancel on my credit card who couldnt as the payment could not be stopped. Is the credit card company liable to insure the refund if you rang them straight away to cancel?

This is not just a foreign to the USA problem. I got the trademark call last night asking me to press 1 to accept their call. This is a clever ruse in that ANY marketing call no matter how veiled MUST have screened the telephone number through the DO NOT CALL list here in the USA. I only took the call to get the name of the company so I could report them to the South Carlina and the Federal authorities. Those of you over seas I would urge to contact the US Justice Department Fraud Division and make your complaints through them. Unfortunately I fear that any monies you might have spent are going to be lost as this is usually the case when con men are involved.

i love florida and go there quite a lot, i cannot understand why people will fall for these so called offers when you can get some great deals from reputable companies, especially if you can go soon after booking ( lastminute )one thing i will say is, it is true when they say "if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is, , , , , , , if you are confident enough to book flights/villa or hotel/ and car hire seperate you can save some money, , , for instance car hire for two weeks can be expensive this is mainly the insurance, if you go to floridacarhire.com it is even cheaper than holiday firms or even direct with car hire companys (dollar alamo )check these prices for yourself, also a villa can be a lot cheaper than a hotel shop around and also haggle as these villa owners are also feeling the pinch and cannot sell all available weeks, flights i think are better done with companies such as thomson/monarch/thomas cook and airtours, get an internet price first then phone them( i like to phone them about 20-30 minuted before they are closing and just pester them for best price, they want to get home and seem more willing to close a deal) as long as you can make all these fit your dates you honestly should save money, so i hope this helps but please put the phone down on these people if they are that good with prices they wouldn`t have to ring around us all ...enjoy your next holiday and good luck in your search

Tropical Grand Vacations Holiday offer scam

Company called me in Australia on home phone offering deal. I unfortunately gave them my credit card details and they charged my card. It was supposed to be towards accommodation in Florida. Company does not answer phone calls and larger amount was charged to my card. ACCC in Australia said that web site was registered in Arizonia. This scam was supposed to be $349 and could of easily of been more. How many other people have they tricked. Please follow this up and please contact me if this is the wrong organization to handle this.

I would like to withdraw my complaint regarding Tropical Grand Vacations. The company is real and I finally received my package completely out of the given time frame 28 days. But it did arrive. Apparently there were problems with my email address. The difference in amount was for the currency difference. Arizonia is were the website company is not where the company is. I have been able to contact the company now its the time difference again was the problem, you need to call before 10 am and only after Wednesday our time (in Australia). I am sorry if I have mislead anyone the company had an explaination for all my complaints and were quite apologetic. However I am going ahead with my refund as airfares are over our budget as well as we are a party of five (2adults and 3 children)

Fake holiday offer. Unfortunately i fell for it and gave my card details, after speaking to my daughter who checked the net i canceled my card at the bank, but it was to late they had taken money. I have called the tel no supplied to no avail, i am now in the process of trying to recoup the money taken.

I too have been caught by this bogus company who after v hard sell, took my money and refused refund. My bank has been unable to help me to recover the deposit money, can anyone please advise me who to approach to help recover the money?

We fell for this scam in December 2007 and are still waiting for a refund. We did everything that was instructed of us in returning the holiday brochures if we did not want to go but we have had numerous phone calls and emails with them and have been promised our money back time and time again but still to no avail. Has anyone any suggestions ?Where do we go from here.

Iwas taken in over the phone and altho' I misunderstood how much the deposit was since I was just out of anaesthetic, I decided that I wanted to cancel. When I tried i could not raise the number. Checked site on net & found terrible stories. Bank has acted for me on i'national transaction & money credited w'in 6 weeks NOT 120 days as some reports were reading. I am very thankful to my bank.

i also recieved a phone call today with this wonderful holiday offer. after telling them that my family (my partner myself and five children have not had a holiday for the past NINE YEARS. They were very happy to be able to offer this holiday to us. The phone called is very convincing. i spoke to five different people the last of which told me the conversation was being taped for my security. Although i was told the money would'nt be taken from my accouint today (as i dont have it) that i would be able to pay over the next 3mths. After checking my account the money has been taken and i now have no money left to look after my family. I can not beleave that the people are so heartless.
