TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon bus/max schedules not matching

I have been using TriMet for commuting to downtown Portland daily for several months. I use the 19 bus from Woodstock to the Bybee Max Station where I transfer. Why is it that the bus and Max schedules aren't compatible? On a regular basis, the bus arrives at the Max Station either at the same time or a minute after the train. The opposite is true for the evening commute when there is a waiting time of up to 20 minutes for a connecting bus from Max back to Woodstock. If TrIMet wants to attract more riders, it has to do better with matching bus and MAX schedules like every other city in the world. I suggest that bus drivers have set times to arrive at Max that make it feasible to transfer without long delays. Otherwise, this commuter will use the transportation funds for a parking garage downtown and go back to driving.

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon poor handling by fare checker

On April 3, I was on my way to school from a long day at work. I was on my bike and was heading to PSU via yellow line at overlook park. I just made it to the max before missing it. Since I as in a rush it took me a few seconds to get settled. I have the trimet app and planning to use that. At the next stop there is a sea of fare checkers. At that point I remember that I haven't validated by pass so I did. This checker in particular was a bit rude and very prejudice. He saw that I was black male and assumed I was in the wrong or doing something sneaky. When he asked for my pass I showed him. The time of the purchase was 5: 11 pm and it was 5:13 at the time. He said to me " you just validated that I need your ID". I said "yes I just got on a stop ago." He then said "oh that was way back there." I said " don't see what the problem is I showed you my valid ticket I'm just trying to get to class." He attempted to get me off the max I said no I have class to get to. He responded with " really". I gave him my ID and he begins writing. I notice that he is writing everything very lite. On the yellow sheet I received I can't read anything he wrote. I believe it was because he didn't want me reporting him. However he made sure the court date was visible written in pen. I asked for his name and a business card and he refused and walked off. He listened to nothing I said and assumed I was lying to him because of his previous altercations. Like stated before I can't read anything on the yellow sheet except of the court date which is more than a little fishy.

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon driver refused to take on passenger on an empty bus

Stop ID 7631. 6:09pm. March 15
Bus was empty. Yet driver refused to let me in. He had the door shut and when I knocked he just shook his head. He sat idle at the stop for another couple minutes then took off.
What kind of service is this? Is this how Portland TriMet treats visitors? Take our money and refuse service? I will take this to twitter and Facebook as well. Unacceptable!

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon bus driver distracted and missing stops

This morning around 7:20-7:50am, bus 12 going downtown (bus number 2521) had a driver who made me feel uncomfortable as a rider. He was engaging a rider in very loud conversation and was so distracted (he also kept opening his mail at every stop light) that he missed many stops and had to make unsafe maneuvers to pull the bus over after he missed stops. I got off at the 5th and Market stop and even though the stop had been requested, he almost drove right past it and ended up trying to pull into the stop from the wrong lane. The bus was blocking cars and he had us get out about 15 feet from the curb.

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon verbally abusive and physically threatening passenger allowed to remain on bus.

7:30 am March 2nd on the 12 bus heading downtown.

Abusive passenger threatened several passengers for asking him to watch his foul language and threatened to hit one them standing next to him. The Bus driver asked him to get off the bus. When the man refused, the bus driver let him stay on the bus until he got off his downtown 10 mins later. We had to all endure a volatile individual practically trapped in his presence from stop to stop. The correct action should have been for the bus to have left the doors open at the next stop, refuse to drive any further until he got off or the police would be contacted immediately. He would have left, we would have all felt safe and the public transportation service would have provided that safety factor. This did not happen.

No announcement was made that the 2 max would be leaving before the 1st max arrived a train full off people watched the other max that arrived 10 minutes later take off now there is a whole max full off people who were sitting on it orange line scheduled to leave at 9 am - if there was an arrow indicating which train it was out there after people were already on the first didn't see the arrow not acceptable the driver could have made an announcement common courtesy to people who are new to max or were not able to see the arrow

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon max

After getting off my 1st job and heading to my 2nd job, I had been waiting 35mins for the max to Milwaukie. As I try entering the max the doors directly in front of me wouldn't open so I walked to the next closest door and before I could get on it the doors closed in front of me, keep in mind that it was no more than a few seconds from the time the door opened until it closed. I try pushing the open door button and that didnt work either! So now I have to wait another ####ing 25mins to get on the next max and I will be late for work, where its potential I will be let go and I need this job! All because the max driver decided that the door only needed to be open for a total of 7sec and the button wouldn't work. Id like to thank trimet for helping keep me in poverty. We the people pay your ####ing salary the least and I mean the least you could do is let the people who pay you get on the ####ing max. And fix the damn button that stops the driver from closing the door on you!

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon transit security

I was called by a transit cop and asked if I could come pick up the belongings of a very close friend. When I got there I asked what she was getting arrested for and was told a probation violation I believe. I looked up her name in Washington County and she has a public drinking charge with a $2500 security hold. Basically I am completely crushed being that she is literally the only friend I have and fear she may be in there for a while. With it being the holidays I would think there could be some leniency and just a warning. This is going to put me in a very strong and unapologetic place in regards to how I view your services that I will make loud and clear to as many people possible. It has completely removed all hope of me being able to enjoy even a minute of life from now until next week probably. Thanks for rushing to judgement and making my life even worse than it already is.

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon riding

Upon waiting at the bus stop on 187th Avenue and Stark the bus was arriving at 7:30 for the bus number is 2233. I inform the bus driver that I was going to DV situation and I am an honest citizen and I didn't know that it cost a dollar 25 to ride after I had already placed in the dollar. With that being said he told me if you know you are honest and said you know you're supposed to carry your wallet with you I've been informed him that I am in a DV again and that I had no wallet or any type of form of identification at all. I'm complaining because I am in a situation where I was put in a hotel because I cannot be around certain people and I'm trying to be where I cannot be found. Lacking compassion and kind of rude I followed through and got off the bus

TriMet / Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District Of Oregon this is transportation for the emotionally and physically challenged

Today I needed to run an important errand at the grocery store that has a U.S. Post office in it. On my way back to the apartment which is a half a mile away from the grocery store I asked nicely to please drop me off at the managers office because I had a large problem I needed to speak with them about involving one of the apartments residents. The bus made two 90 degree turns and then the office closed per the sign on the door. That was not my falt. The driver got very rude and nasty and acted like everything in life was my falt. I told him the story about this resident no matter when he sees me at the Safeway in Cedar Mill or in Forest Grove or Hillsboro that he hits me up for money. He told me when he saw me at the Cedar Mill Safeway yesterday 3/11/2016 that he had a record and that he needed bus money. I have been here 25 years and know that people with records are on the street and rarely get hired anywhere. I do not like this man hitting me up for money everytime he sees me saying to me he needs money for the city bus. People at church told me yesterday that he does not have a job and has been kicked out of several Safeway stores in Washington county for begging and being a transient. When I told the Tri Met Lift driver this story he got loud, rude, nasty and like he just cared about the money in taking me to mail my housing application which is 100% very selfish. He said to never never ever ask him to do anything again. Here is what I want to say to you MR TrI Met Lift bus Driver: It is not my falt I am disabled. If you would read anything about genetic disorders they do not know what causes them and many people in this town are slow and physically challenged. Also Mr Tri Met Bus Driver. I hate it here in Portland. This last 3 years with greed 100% taking over and fights breaking out everywhere and tons of rent protests it is just not a livable city for me to live in any longer and not a good situation for me. It is causing me much undue stress and unhappiness. I would like to leave Portland and Tri Met Lift and never ever come back ever ever here. So I plan really Mr Tri Met Bus driver to never never ever never ever take the your line or your bus ever ever again due to your rudeness, your loudness, your being blaming and critical, and just being a total j*** in every way possible. This is a warning to never take Tri Met Lift in Portland on a Saturday unless you want to encounter this driver that will be this way to you and blame you for being disabled and blaming you for your apartment complex closing its rental office. This trip as short as it was supposed to be was the worst trip of my life. Never by Tri Met have I ever been treated so horribly by any public transportation system.

Bus route 47; bus #2819 - stopped a car or two behind me in the lane to my right, no cars in front of him; speeds into my lane, as his merge lane ended, not yet fully along the side of me - speeded up to force me into on-coming lane - not right to be that aggressive - irresponsible - danger to us all

Good grief lady he's a lift driver, not your personal sniveling counselor. Blame the poor man like that, he probably gets darn sick of dealing with whining and complaining. Grow up and chill out!
