Worst company I have ever done business with. Do not hire them. You will absolutely 100% regret it. I purchased their top resume review service and paid 244.00 plus a 50.00 for a phone call. Immediately after my purchase, I tried to cancel the service because of the bad reviews I read online, and they did not respond to my email. They continued to ignore my emails asking to please cancel my request. They assigned a writer to my resume a week later. I asked, again and again, to please cancel, and they continued. My worst fear came true. They delivered a resume that was much worse than the one I submitted. I tried to dispute the charge. They finally agreed in writing to give me a refund minus a 75-dollar processing fee! However, the refund never came through. I filed a complaint with my credit card company. This company is a fraud.

When I received the first draft the quality of the resume was appalling.

It was clear that the person writing this resume had no experience writing resumes for my industry and they had little attention to detail considering even the locations of my positions were wrong.

I tried to reach out to the writer and didn't hear anything for over 24 hours despite paying for rushed service. I reached out to support and they are also unhelpful and very slow to respond.

Top Resume is a complete scam. DO NOT pay money to this company. I paid USD 349.00 for an “Executive Package” which promised a resume rewrite and a LinkedIn profile summary write up, on 12 January 2023. I received one email confirming payment, and another email a week later to say that a “writer” would contact me. Since then I have received NO communication, the support team ignores my requests for a follow up and ignore my appeal for reimbursement.

I paid for the Executive Package and after several conversations between myself and writer I realized the writer was not an Executive level writer. I reached out to TopResume and complained but they assured me the writer was going through the "process." As we continued with the "process" I spent time correcting grammar and my job (I'm in education and the writer kept placing me in the medical field) we finally completed the process and to completely finalize the process the writer sent me the final version...again I found multiple errors from my degree to grammar and I made the changes. The writer asked me to send all the changes back to her which turned out to be the final resume. I wrote my own resume. I reached out to customer services and I was told "We can offer complementary service to get the writing corrected." I mentioned the resume I hired a writer was because of limited time...I would rather a refund and I use my old resume. Afterwards, the company said they reviewed the resume a second time and found no grammatical errors but did find basic areas which makes sense. I corrected the grammar and the basic areas were areas I had given up on with the writer. Again, the wanted to offer free services. But, they also said the basic was up to standards why would I want basic again at the price I paid?

05 June 2022 I ordered an executive package, 2-day rush, and 30-minute phone consultation from TopResume. 349, 50, and 75 dollars, respectively. Immediately was told my writer would be late with the documents. After receiving the initial draft, I knew the writer would be an issue. I used the phone call to try to explain the problems. Some of these were misspelled words, inaccurately used words, complete refusal to do what was asked in prior questionnaires and emails, taking my military experience from a page of information down to one line that said "additional experience" (the writer even said I was in the Army when I was Navy). It was very obvious to me the writer also copy-pasted from other resumes and tried to pass it off like his own writing specifically cater to me. The phone call was about 5 mins of actually arguing. I tried to explain the issues while he just argued overtop of me. I was in a rush for work reasons but he still wouldn't listen to my concerns and move on. After that, I tried my best to provide feedback and work with the writer. 2 drafts after the initial one and multiple (very long) emails written by me in response to the horridly written drafts, I decided that was enough. I asked for a new writer and refund on my 2-day rush. Days of customer service refusing to respond between every message. Even their customer service is atrocious. I asked for a full refund, as I had lost faith in their ability to provide any actual service, writer or otherwise. Weeks later, I'm here posting this with anywhere from 3 to 5 days or more of zero response from customer service. They will do anything they can to refuse to help. No one should work with them and I'm legitimately surprised so many websites try to list this horrific company as one of the best. It's obvious they were paid to do it by the company. No one could possibly take what I've been given and call it good quality or service.

I paid more than $300 for resume and cover letter, however the drafts I have received are shockingly bad.

Firstly, I received versions that made false claims and sounded like it was written by a high school student. My high level skills and achievements were not included, instead focus was given to basic work tasks. Clearly the author had no understanding of strategy/policy, or experience working at higher levels within an organisation.

Secondly, I received versions that were also inaccurate and poorly written. Evidently TopResume recommends heavy use of a thesaurus, resulting in nonsensical sentences and phrases. This makes it sound like my work experience is made up and makes me sounds very unintelligent.

Despite requiring a significant amount of information via a questionnaire before the documents are drafted, the drafts I receive are still inconsistent with this information and do not highlight the achievements that I included.

The first set of documents were totally unusable. The second set I have received are suitable for a job two or three levels below mine, and still then would not be competitive. For this price, I expected high level written communication, accurate information, and a resume that sells my skillset and previous achievements. If I were to use any of these, there would be significant ramifications for my professional reputation.

I paid for express delivery and received nothing in response - I sent followup emails asking what was going on and I received no response. The job I was applying for has now closed and I want my money back. I am really disappointed as they did a great job on my friend's resume. I have sent emails asking for my money back and I have received no response - so here I am filing a complaint.

I bought Executive Priority Resume Service for $349. I had issues with the way Resume was written. It was really bad. I reached out to their team multiple times but all in vain.

THEN... the fraud started. They put a college name where I never studied in my Resume that they created. I complaint about it and the writer said it is same name in the original resume that I provided them. He then took a screenshot of that college name confirming that it is in my original Resume. I was shocked. I asked if he could send me the original Resume that I provided. Meanwhile, I called their customer service number and requested to send me the original resume.

I received the original resume from customer care department in my email. At the same time writer also sent me a resume calling it my original.

He CHANGED the original resume by changing the college name...

This is just FRAUD.

5/3/2021 Order: #0D51006819 When the 1st draft of the resume came back it was with false statements, descriptions that didn't even read in a way that made sense, changed the path/career of my work, only had the years of work without months, changing the wording so that the meaning is completely different, wrong spelling and bad grammar. Dishonest.I got so frustrated I could barely get through the 1st page. I don't have time when I have already sent in a resume and filled out a questionnaire to add to the information. I have sent a message to the company requesting a refund and have not gotten a response. If the first draft looks and reads this way, I will need to hold the writer's hand to go line by line to avoid the meaning of my career being changed and information being in the resume that isn't true. Punctuation and grammar is lacking. I would like a refund

Based on the email from Topresume, we paid for the services but after online review, feedback and internal discussions, we immediately cancelled our order by email.

We did not use or any service at all as we became aware of this scam.

Since then we are still getting a runaround. Instead of refunding, Topresune is asking us to gift this to somebody else, or they will charge us $100 before refund. Charge for what when no service had been provided and cancellation request was done immediately upon payment.

Email below refers. We also have emails of Topresune suggesting us to gift this $219 or take a $100 bill for nothing.

I paid $349 for TopResume to provide me with a resume, cover letter, and update my LinkedIn profile. When I received the first draft, it did not include key skills that I had requested me included. In addition, it included skills that was not on any of the documentation I provided. The writer ignored my key skills and added skills that I do not have. I have sent several emails and only received on "so sorry you are not happy" response. I am very disappointed and would like this corrected ASAP. When I look at the status, it states I have 4-days to provide edits. However, I provided those edits on 4/5, it is now 4/8 and I have heard nothing! I would like to get this resolved.

The first resume I received was beautiful written albeit extremely lengthy and focused too much on my management skills in lieu of my creative skills, which I didn't realise at the time being new to the resume game. I absolutely adored my first writer and would have loved to work with her again. So far in my experience, she practically makes TopResume. The support was also very quick to respond initially. They got back to me within 24 hours, more often times less. Until now.

After two months and some feedback, I went to get my resume rewritten as is part of the bundle I bought (over $200+ USD). I was given a second writer who was blatantly not fluent in English based on her chat speak. I decided to ignore it thinking that the document she'd present to me would hammer out grammatical issues. However, the resume is written in a way that's almost incoherent in English. She has a good grasp of English for casual conversation, but she's not at a high school level and thus shouldn't be writing resumes professionally (especially not when they cost $200+).

I contacted TopResume three times to request for another writer based on the fact the one they gave me wasn't fluent, and uncharacteristically I've been met with radio silence. I did not ask for a refund because they don't do refunds, but also because my first resume was fantastic (just not for what I need). All I want is another writer who's fluent in English and knows what they're doing to rewrite my resume.

This has been a really bad experience. I had to work according to imposed schedule that was completely inconvenient to my busy schedule. The draft versions were not up to my expectations and I was not given enough time to discuss changes. I was also not given useful tips or recommendations to make sure the final version actually meets my objectives. The writer always seemed to be in a hurry, providing quick responses that seemed only to have one objective: Just get the order closed.

I have opted for the most expensive option but I did not have time or proper discussions required for cover letter, resume, or LinkedIn profile. I believe the time given should be convenient to the client not to the writer. The end result in my opinion is subpar and I would not recommend Topresume to anyone.

I ordered my resume weeks ago, a week in they switched the writer. When I finally received my initial copy, it had several errors. I never received my final copy and the writer wouldn't respond. I contacted support and informed them, the writer responded once but never again. I want a refund for my cover letter and resume. They violated their policy by not delivering my product..

My CV was full of grammaticals and typos. Some copy didn't make sense at all and included data points I never provided. The English was clumsy and I questioned whether a native English speaker wrote it. The font used was old fashioned and the choice of words was bizarre in some instances. I am very unhappy. The copywriter threw it back in my face and Katie Warren (is this even a real person?) that I've been dealing with has gone missing in action. I would like a refund.

Top resume stole my money.

I paid for resume and cover letter and received absolute garbage that was drafted by a complete amateur.
When I asked for this to be addressed, the "customer service" ignored my requests for resolution.
The otherwise received was for an email that I had sent directly to the writer, however, he doesn't seem to have neither the indistry knowledge nor the competence to resolve this issue.
Instead, he slapped two words into the existing draft and sent it back.
The engagement has been a complete waste of time and money and did more damage than good. I am now paying other Local writers to create new resume for me as I have now concluded that Top resume are scamming people. I will be sure they are exposed even if it is the last thing I do.

On the 15/10/2019 I was directed a resume template website to hep assist me to layout my resume accordingly.
I was directed to a cost page however was very hesitate to pay money for this, i noticed I could just pay $2.00 and receive a PDF resume which I was happy to do.

Since then Resume top have taken the $2.00 out of my account on the 15/10/19 however have since taken another $59.00.

I never agreed to sign up for the premium $149.00 however it appears I am being charged for this. I would like to cancel this order and have this rectified ASAP.

Lost $300 without a resume!
They did a free review/critique of my resume and told me how bad it was. So, I wanted to get my resume done with them expecting expert resume writing. It was for a data scientist role and I have a gap in relavant experience. I have spent 20years in IT. That said, the the resume I gave them has already led me to many interviews before.
I got an initial draft in a week that looked like one for a NON IT professional or a non IT business analyst at best. What more, my main competency is mentioned as "computer science" among other things that I dont know who it is describing.
When I contacted then about it, they said I should give them another try. When I expressed concern that the writer does not understand the position, and after a lot of back and forth and petty selling, they said they would add a complimentary 30 min phone call and have a experienced person do it again. I took a leap of faith and tried again. But this time, I wanted to give them more material and so I sent as many past resume with more information as I could. I also gave them keywords to concentrate on and a document showing how they match with my experience.
A new writer is assigned and she sends me an initial draft in 2 days. She showed confidence and defferred the phone call to later. I was very hopeful after seeing that confidence. But got another trash!
The draft included keywords but omitted EVERY relavant experience from my original resume, was extremely poorly wrritten and worded. But the thing that ticked me of the most was that the email said that since she had only few lines of description about each position in the resume I gave her, she just wrote whatever she could. This implies that she had not even glanced at the material I sent her.
Conclusion, writers are no good for IT positions.
My interaction with the customer service was a nightmare - The agent seems to be looking for all reasons to sell me more products and not addressing the main concern. After more back and forth I asked her for refund! She submitted it and I recieved a letter that it has been denied! But they can reassign me.
PLEASE NOTE they have a NO REFUND policy! I lost $300 after wasting time, incurring frustration and without getting anything in return!
So, unless you have indefinite time with money to experiment and are willing to coach the writers at your expense, keep away from these people.

I paid for the services of TopResume, poor quality product, very entry level. The first writer I worked with knew nothing on how to write a resume, even after I sent in issues; such as missing a lot of my key skills and experience, they wanted to argue with me, saying the resume was fine...it was not. They assigned me to a second writer, which was worse than the first. I received the resume, and red inked the whole thing to show them the issues with the resume, at this point might as well write it myself. Spoke with customer service about my issues and they were rude, kept arguing with me that the resume was fine. I requested a refund, and they refused. This company is horrible, scam, will take your money, and waste your time. I have never wrote a bad review on a company, even if I had a bad experience with them; I usually just move on and deal with my losses. But the experience I had with this company was so awful that I had to. I am going to every platform I can to write about my horrible experience with TopResume.
