Titlemax / TMX Finance Loan

Their loans are in line with loan sharking and racketeering. The interest rates and accruals are scandalous. If you pay the payment specified amount you will never get the loan paid off. They renew the loan as a new loan after each payment. Please note that the loan is a simple interest installment loan which is amortized, which means that it is designed to be paid off over the full term of the loan. A portion of each payment, if paid on the due date, applies to both interest and principal. Furthermore, interest accrues on a daily basis on the unpaid principal balance of a loan.

Titlemax / TMX Finance 30 days loan agreement is very unfair

I'm from Houston an Titlemax is ripping people off with A.P. R. I got a loan in April 2021 for $1650 an another one in August 2021 for $600 for getting a new Cadillac converter an other Mechanic issues. Before I got another loan I was lift with $800 something ever since I got a new loan this past 5 months been a rip off they expect you to hold on to your money until the 30 Days Due Date like ain't nun can happen doing this Covid-19's pandemic Chaos I try to pay more on it before my 30 Days due day an all they did was renew it with 4 separate payment in one month. I realize they using that after 3 days to pocket your money even if u trying to pay it off faster which is a trash contract. They are Legally trapping you cause they know a few people want have all the money at once. We all need to VOTE to get rid of TitleMax in United States cause they bring down us American 🇺🇸 People that's trying to live. An they contract is very unfair.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Paid off car loan and release of lien

I had a loan with Title Max on Dirksen Pkwy, Spfld, IL about 3-4 years ago. The Release of Lien has never been filed with the IL Secretary of State. I have called twice and spoke to Karen, on Sept. 30, 2021 and Oct 14, 2021 after I went to trade my car off and found the title is clean. I have endured a lot of stress, duress and anxiety over this because my car is not running now and I have had to take a taxi to work and back for over a month. I have paid over $186 for taxis to and from work.

Desired outcome: Release of Lien filed and reimbursed $186 for taxis and $500 for mental anxiety.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Theft of personal belongings

Tittle max had my car reposted. In the process, they allowed my belongings to be stolen including; $1253 cash, Apple Watch (location is on to prove) $140 flash light, car wash, tools, and other items. When contacting title max, they blame it on the repo company. State law states that they are held responsible for returning all person belongings. Please help.

Desired outcome: Sue tittle max

Titlemax / TMX Finance Loan

I been paying on this loan since december and I still owe what I borrowed from them. I also pay early each month and the interest doesn't show it. On a 2800.00 loan I have to pay back 9000.00 which others loan said I would have to pay back 4000.00 so how is this company getting away with making people pay back 4 times the loan. In aurora, il the company was shutdown because of the interest rate was to high. I called corporate office and they said they couldn't do anything about my contract that I signed but they can. I'm on disability and when I told them my suv wasn't safe to drive they wanted my mechanic to tell them. He did over the phone. I told them that the reverse went out and it would cost around 2000.00 to repair and the back right tire came off and it would cost around $1, 000.00 to fix. I asked them why it doesn't show I pay early each month and they had no answer. I would like to be done with this ripped off company. They take advantage of the people especially the elderly. Because we get a check every month. A company that makes you pay back 4 times what you borrowed isn't a company its a bad place. I paid over what I borrowed and if corporate saying they can't change a contract them who can.

Desired outcome: Loan to be done and title back in my hands

Titlemax / TMX Finance The Fees, Interest Charges

This should be illegal how much interest they charge Rip~off, it is robbery. You supposed to help, not take advantage... It is a never ending cycle because the more you pay towards what you owe the more you owe the next time. The bill never goes down. I paid my monthly amount of $271.08 for 6 months on time never late, to get at the end of the payments which was in June 2021 for them to tell me i still owe the Original amount of $2646.46 to get my title back, so i ask the 6 months i paid $217.08 where did it go where is that money? $1626.00 i paid total for 6 months so i thought the balance was $1020.00 and i was going to pay the balance to get my title, but no i still owe $2646.00 how is that possible? plus a $300.00 payment May 20, 2021

Desired outcome: to be able to pay the $1020.00 and get my Title back and be done with TileMax

Im dealing with same thing in Houston TX. They told me they don’t have yo abide by city of Houston municipal code of applying 25% min yo every payment because they are right outside city limits even though address is still Houston. Sounds fishy to me. I will be paying $200 interest only for the rest of my days. Something needs to be done. Im not sure if small claims court will work but Im considering.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Trying to get title back from 2016 that was paid off the next day of getting the loan.

My daughter Jessica Godwin, who received a tile loan from Titlemax at address listed below in 2016, My name is also on the title (Tammy Hughes) so I had to go sign the papers also.
I decided that I would give my daughter the money that she needed so she would not have a lien on her car. The very next day she went in the titlemax and paid the loan off and asked for her title back and was told that they did not have it. She has tried to get it several other times and still does not have it.
We are trying to sell the car so I went to the SCDMV on 11/16/2020 and was told that there is a lien on the car from Titlemax that has to be released first. My daughter called titlemax on 11/16/2020 and spoke to Kayla Jones and was told that there could not have been a lien on the car because it was paid off the next day. On 11/17/2020 My daughter and I went to talk to Kayla at the store and was told the same. I proceeded to tell Kayla, that is what the DMV was saying but she still insisted that was not true. Kayla, said she would look into it and give my daughter a call the next day, around 5:30 on 11/19/2020 I called Kayla because we had not heard anything from her, She stated that she had emailed the District store manager and as soon as he responded she would let us know. On 11/20/20 around 2:00 I called Kayla to ask if she has heard anything from her manager and was told no. I asked Kayla for the phone number or email for the district manager and was told to call 1-800-804-5368. I called that number and a very nice lady took down my information and said that she would get Chris, the district manager to give me a call by end of today 11/20/2020.

All we need is to be able to get a clean title so we can sell the car. Vin# 1FAHP36N19W211419, 2009 FORD FOCUS.
Kayla B. Jones has a very nasty attitude and I do not appreciate the way my daughter and I have been treated when it's clearly a TitleMax problem that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. My daughter and I have tried to be nice and patient. I don't normally complain on anyone but she is not professional at all.
Thank you for your time and I hope we can get this issue resolved very soon.

Re: loan on: 2015 pt crusier touring, vin # 3c4fy5855t548382

my name is gladys s fillion. I took out a loan from title ma in humble, t (1st st) around [protected] (not sure which. I renewed said loan many times, and then I moved to waco, tx. I contacted the manager at the humble office. He made a deal with me that if I paid x amount of oney (sent in money orders) for several months I would get the loan paid off. After moving to waco I didn't not renew the loan like what is requred to extend the loa. I do't have the amount I paid each month I front of me (around $150/month for approx 3 yrs= $5, 400), but I paid that fee (without renewing /signing a new contrat) for about 3 years via fedex and ups from waco to the title max office on 1st st in humble tx. I can provide the exact amt I paid each month when I can get to my records in waco storage. Anyway, I met the required pymts the manager told me to make in order to get the loan paid off. Pymts were completed in 2016. I would say that $5, 400 is more then enough to get this loan paid in full. Since that time I have not been able to get the title to the vehicle. I was told they were looking for the car to repo it. I need the title to the card described above. It actually does not run right now but I need to do something with it. Loking at the situation, I know this was all done illegally. As I stated, the car does not run is is only worth aboyt $1200.. The motor is bad. I will put a used motor in it if I can get this matter settled. Please advise as your plans to send me the title. If you plan not to do so, I will file a complaint the occc of texas.
You can contact me via email @ [protected]@gmail.com

thanking you in advance for your help with this matter.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Biggest mistake of my life

Worst mistake I ever made!
This should be illegal how much interest they charge someone, it is robbery. It is a never ending cycle because the more you pay towards what you owe the more you owe the next time. The bill never goes down. I went to this company for help and ended up and a worse situation. I tried to pay them off with a credit card just to try to get out of this huge financial mistake and was told they don't expect major credit cards (why not?). They don't want you to be able to pay the loan off because than they can't keep robbing you. It is a trap that is very difficult to get out of and it is very sad that they are hurting families especially during these times. Covid-19

Titlemax / TMX Finance Title loan

From the beginning this Titlemax location did not follow Texas regulations! It is required to verify income and insurance and neither was done. Interest fees on a $3500 loan was $513 on its own. Little more than the rates given dont ya think. Then depending on who you got at the store depended on how much you paid when paid early. The manager would tell you one rate and someone else would quote you another and this happened at least on two occasions. When calling the manager out one time, she acted like she made a mistake and changed my total. I'm a single mom and this was my only transportation. I had my car repoed March 4 and not once did I receive anything about where my car was, nor my belongings, nor the auction it had been taken. Titlemax states they are to contact consumers. So therefore this is the 3 regulation Titlemax has broke . I have a right to sue for such crooked ethics

Titlemax / TMX Finance Impossible for me to come up with 2400 dollars in ten days

I don't pawn my title but I needed emergency funds and had no choice. Shortly after I pawned my car title. I lost everything, my, my belongings, everything. We ended up living in our car for months so honestly I didn't think about the title loan at all and my phone had been stolen so if they were calling me I wouldn't have gotten the calls anyway. I was fully focused on finding a home for my 3 children myself and my husband. Again I'm not one that ever pawns my title so it was never a thought to me since every day for weeks I was going church to church or charity to charity. We did eventually find a trailer that was completely torn apart but at least it was something but once we did get up enough money to get the power and water turned on we realised that none of the pipes were good and neither was any of the power breakers fuses plugs lights or anything worked so we still had to sleep in our car most nights just to stay warm enough. Well they came to repossess the car and told me that if I would corporate and give them the keys that I would be able to visit the store in the morning and they would work out something with me so I could get my car back. I called and they tell me that I have to pay it completely off to get it back and they can't help me at all. I offered to provide any and every documentation proving everything that I have been through the past few months but still not able to get my car back. We live in this car it's not just something I drive it's where I have to sleep. I don't know what else to do. I'm reaching out to any and everyone trying to find someone that will help me because it's impossible for me to come up with 2400 dollars in ten days. Please if you can help or have any information that can help me let me know. Thank you.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Return of car title after loan was paid off

My husband and I took a loan out (using my car title) with Lake St. Louis, Mo. Title Max office, fell behind (unfortunately, got our car towed because of lack of payment due to financial difficulties) but finally got caught up, got our car back, and paid off the loan in full in July 2019. We were even advised by the Lake STL Title Max loan office, that they are aware that our loan is paid off in full. We waited patiently (until Aug 2019) for my car title to be returned to us via mail and we never received it. Then we called the local office and they told us they were unaware that we never received our title back and that it was the company that towed our car's fault that we never received our title back. I then asked for the specific phone # of that company and they asked me why I wanted the number. I told them that I'm going to call and talk to them to advise them that they lost my title and we need to fix the issue. The Title Max supervisor then "back pedaled" in their statement and then said that it wasn't the towing company's fault but the fault of the license bureau that had our title. I said to them, aggravated by this point, "So, now you're going to blame the DMV? Really?!" Then the supervisor "back pedaled" again and said that the office worker who dealt with us when we took out our loan no longer worked for Title Max. They said he took care of all of our paperwork and he's to blame for this issue. They said that since he no longer worked there, they had no idea what was going on with our loan, title, etc... I didn't believe this but I was calm and asked for them to fix the problem. They said they'd file for another copy of our title since the original one was lost and they'd contact us when it arrived in their store. That never happened. My husband and I have been calling them multiple times and they have always said to us that it'll take another week. We (my husband and I together) went into the store on 10-17-19 and talked to the only worker there at that time and he said it will be yet another week because he still didn't have it. We feel like we are being given the run-around a lot and all we are asking for is our car title returned to us. We feel like they have no idea what the other is doing within the company and this is not good at all, considering it's about money and car titles, etc... Has anyone else had this issue?

Titlemax / TMX Finance Truth in lending disclosures, lien removal process, accurate payoff amount, and interest overpayment

10/1/2019

We are trying to payoff this loan but we cannot get the accurate payoff information from the above location. We were told that we would still be charge 1 month full month of interest even if we paid the loan off 15 days earlier.

We have requested a Federal ruth -in-Lending disclosure, accurate payoff information, what is the lien removal process, and a schedule of how we can pay on the principal to decrease our loan balnce from the representative. She did not know and said the Manager would call us to address and answer our questions. The manager never called.

We called the 1800 customer service number and recieved a call fro the District Manager and even he could not explain why we required to pay 30 dyas of interst if we were paying 15 days earlier than the due date. we have an issue wih paying for 30 days of iterst when we are trying to pay the loan off 15 days earlier.

Also we were charged a late fee because the office was closed on September 14, 2019 on Sunday. and we paid the interst payment on September 15, 2019.

We would like to pay the principal plus the 15 days of accrued interst and sastify the debt, and have our title returned to us witht he lien lifted.

Titlemax / TMX Finance Employee lies to further account for repossession

After getting out of being incarcerated I called TitleMax spoke and explained situation to manager on a Monday She told me to call her Thursday after my meeting to get job back stating she'd be off till then I called her told her had to go back Monday she says she was going on vacation call back let's just say the 29th few days before that date her employee calls about my account tells me it's past due I explain I'm aware and talked to manager he says she's just store manager and can't help or override anything and if I don't pay large amount by second of month (when rent and or mortgage is due on the first) process will be followed and they'll tow my car. So I didn't take position back at work at first thinking my car is about to be towed leaving me without transportation to even get there. Never coming to retrieve I was still able and went back to start job though this job pays biweekly following month manager calls finally come to find out manager tells me out her own mouth she NEVER talked to him she was on vacation and out of country! As I then proceeded to ask well why would your employee lie and tell me he talked to you and didn't I could have went back to job and would have had payment this upcoming week he sat my account back even further and that at this point I'd need two weeks she disregarded my whole question and asks when will I have a payment never mentioned the employee whom lied about talking to her or in process to repossess car and states it's not employees fault I can't make payment just put phone on speaker for him to hear as he as well says nothing. Next I'm told she can't wait two weeks as if it's not her employees fault for giving false information setting my account back even more. She then tells me on a Tuesday she needs account current by Friday or they'll repossess car and I cm still get to work without car. Next NOW they actually towed my vehicle this place is not honest at all.

Titlemax / TMX Finance unethical behaviour

The entire company. They treat there employees horribly. They also take money from there employees. (Bonuses) The staff gets beat up daily. They do fraudulent loans to make there company look good. They expect there own employees to pay for marketing out of there own pocket. But Senior Managers make over 110k a year. My boss told me in writing I would be getting my bonus and now they are telling me they will not be paying out my bonus of $2, 000+ dollars that was earned. The company is a joke. Senior management allowed the fraud to happen right under there nose. Fraud and lies!

Titlemax / TMX Finance Title loan

I got a title loan at Titlemax and fell behind on my payments which resulted in Titlemax repossessing my car. I received a call from my close friend informing me that Titlemax had called her phone and told her there had been a warrant issued for my arrest because I had come and stole my car! Apparently my car that was on Titlemax's property after they repossed it was stolen. I have not received a phone call seen a police officer nothing! For this woman to tell my friend I had stolen my car when there has been no investigation completely pisses me off! After reading some of the complaints against the company it has now become apparent to me that they are just trying to cover their own butt. I can only assume my car was left on their lot with no so much as a security camera on it. I say that only because if they had security footage they could see it was not me that took the car. I am contacting the Sheriff's department to report my car stolen and I am also contacting my attorney to pursue action against Titlemax. I will be discussing the slanderous accusations made to my friend about me, it was so bad that this woman actually asked my friend if she thought I would have someone steal the car for me!

Titlemax / TMX Finance I keep getting calls late at night.

Also, one of the ladies that work at the location keeps calling my phone at least 6 times a day from the time they open until close after the fact I told her I will pay on a Friday since that is my pay period. They are so rude and once I am done paying I will never ever get a loan from this place again. Waking me up out of my sleep and being very very demanding.

Titlemax / TMX Finance I can't get information on how to get my car back or my stuff

So around 3 am friday on the june 14th my car was repossessed. I get it I fell behind on payments. I call to an talk to alex he tells me it take 24-48 to process my car an I can't get any of my stuff out until monday! Which is all my debit cards, money, an my government issued snaps card which got turned on, on the 15th. When I initially got the loan it was to pay for my child's funeral cost which was already a tuff time in my life. I became homeless with 3 other children. I was homeless for 2 months I just got housed in the 7th. My car took on the 14th. I don't expect to have special treatment or anything like that but somebody in this company needs to have some kind of compassion an put their selves in a person like mine footsteps. I was told by alex to call back monday an he would personally make sure something is done about getting my stuff an hopefully finding some kind of way we can get my loan reinstated an get my car back. He lied I called today he went on vacation clearly he just told me all of that to get me off the phone cause I was told today he went on vacation. My car still isn't even processed to get my stuff out! How is that fair for y'all to keep my money! An still don't have any information to get my car back.. I'm willing to pay but how can I when i'm getting the run around.. I need to feed my children but tmx won't even let me get my stuff out the car.. It's not fair to do that to a person.. Why couldn't the tow guy just knock on the door an let people know what's going on just in case there is something we need in the car we can get out.. It's always good to treat people with a little dignity our property is already getting taken away...
