I ordered After the miracle. the political crusade's of Hellen keller. Order # [protected]. I received the book The miracle written by Irving Wallace. I received February 6 2023. I think the explanation is clear but you are wanting more words, which seems silly. Today is a nice sunny day for February . I'm not sure how many words it take to say I received the wrong book. I did not get the book I ordered. I think I'll try it now.

On January 2, 2024, I ordered two books: Pennsylvania Hiking Trails ($8.59) and Calm Your Anxious Mind: Daily Devotions to Manage Stress and Build Resilience ($10.59). I ordered through Thrift Books online.
I received the wrong books on January 10th: A Bear Called Paddington and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Cleary, these are not the books I ordered.
Claimed loss: I paid $20.33 for what I ordered.

So called customer o mer service
Thriftbooks: Your chat line offered a resolution which was the very problem I was asking for help on. You list a phone number with an extra digit at the end. Try one digit you get a sales pitch for medic alert bracelets. Try the other you get nothing. Up till now I have loved ordering books from you. However if this is what you call Customer Service you have list a steady customer.
I am trying to resove a problem with an order. The chatline apparently could not comprehend the issue as the resolution offered was the opposite of what I requested. The phone number listed for customer support has an extra digit. I tried both last digits - one went to Medical Alert bracelets and the other didn't go anyemwhere.
I just wrote a very angry review about trying to get help. Chatline was ridiculous. One of the listing on website lists an 8 digit phone number for customer service. I tried both last digits - to no avail. I kept trying - finally got a recording that kept referring me to chat or online help. I tried again and FINALLY found the magic key to a live person. I got Justin. He was wonderful. He solved my issue immediately. It shouldn't be so difficult to get a live person, but the effort payed off.

My husband ordered $100.00 gift card for my birthday In September of 2023. I could never use it as your website wouldn't acknowledge it. But you charged my Visa card for $100.00. On 10/16 4:12 pm we made the first query. On advice of one of your employees I again tried to use the gift card on 10/25 and it was refused.

Charged more then was stated on the web site
Found two books for about $4 each was the price. I ended up getting charged $16. With no invoice so I couldn't even figure out how they arrived at that figure. I thought I was spending about $9? Doubt I'll ever order from them again. John Hathaway Saint Paul, Minnesota

jesus call book which did not receive with my first order. on my second I order three books of jesus calling but only receive one book.
I did not receive my first orders which was four books of jesus calling around the fist week in april. I pay with an banks of America debt card. incomplete order/false advertising
I have made two orders to thriftbooks and both orders advertised a book plus a good quality CD.
Both orders had no CD with it, just the book. They were both language books so it was very important to have the CD.
On one order, customer service responded by asking me a question: what do you think should be done? They were supposed just give me the refund. They eventually did but it taught me never to order books with CDs from them again : they don't seem to check things before an order.
return policy
I bought a book online. There was little description about it. It was a part of a group of books that are over 200 pages. I ended up paying $27 for a slim paperback that couldn't be more than 20 pages. I am so disappointed. Then I ready the return policy. You can only return item that cost $35 or more. Seriously?! I got gorgeous, hard-cover, books books for $5. I waited for 45 minutes on the phone with their customer service number and finally just had to hang up. I e-mailed them and have not gotten a response. If I had not gotten my order I would think this place is a scam.
There is no consistency in prices. Do your research. Look up the book you want on more descriptive websites. Definitely research return before ordering. So many lessons learned from this interaction.
I am happy with my other books. The items were delivered a week from the time I ordered them.

i am a student in imam university in riyard in the kingdom of saudia arabic. i made an order from https://www.thriftbooks.com since last year but i did not receive them. in 5/9/2018 i made another one but still i did not receive them. the customer serve said the below statement regarding the issue.
"We ship all our international orders with Asendia World Wide or OSM world wide. The package will be delivered by a local postal service or courier. Unfortunately we do not have any way to offer tracking on international orders at this time."

charged my paypal but assign me to some random hotmail account
I ordered book. They charged my PayPal account. They never acknowledged my order on my 'accounts page.' I inquire through my yahoo email. They respond with two separate tracking numbers; neither relate to me, my name, my order, my location. I inquire again through my yahoo email. They respond by saying my account is linked to a hotmail email account - not belonging to me and unrelated to me and not mine. So, they've taken my money, not acknowledged my order, assigned two unrelated tracking numbers, credited my account to someone unrelated to me with a hotmail account. I'm admit I'm not a very savvy internet shopper - congratulations! You got me! You're mother should be so proud.

wrong books & no books delivered
I have ordered many books from Thrift books. At first, it was fine. Occasionally, I would get the wrong book. Happened several times. They have always replied to my complaints. For the past couple of months, no replies at all. I not only received wrong books but missing books as well. I will no longer order anything from them again. From now on, only individual sellers. No more third parties.

Hi, I would like to report a miss representation a book that I ordered. I purchased Angels in America, expecting both parts as that was the version I had purchased. I got the package today and I received Angels in America pt. 2, but the sticker on the back says that it was 1 and 2. Although I do appreciate the second half of the play, I would like to have the first part before reading the second part. All I request is the replacement of this book with one marked correctly or sending me the first part no charge considering I did already pay for both. Thanks!

my books are lost
I ordered five books from five different places a month ago. And I got only one of them :( I have tracking numbers, but there's no update, they stuck somewhere and there's no opportunity to find it out. And I don't know what was the reason. customer service didn't help at all. Now I want to get my money back, even though something tells me it will be hard to do.

Two recent purchases
Yesterday I received two paperback books which were listed as "acceptable" and were indeed totally unacceptable. The books were "The Beekeepers Apprentice" and "A Monstrous Regiment of Women." Both were written by Laurie King.
I have been a faithful customer of yours for a while now, even referring several friends. After this latests shipment I can honestly say I will no longer be singing your praises nor ordering any more books for myself. These two books were worth no more than a quarter each and I feel that my trust in your company for delivering quality merchandise has been totally removed.
I right now have a coupon for $5.00 off which I won't even consider using.
Needless to say you have lost a good customer.
Very bad condition; no customer service
I have ordered two books from them. When I received my order I was very disappointed because one book was wrong and the other one was damaged. When I ordered I knew that these books were used before, but it was said that everything was in a good condition. But one book was missing several pages and there were some coffee stains on the inside. I tried to contact Thriftbooks customer service and wanted to get some help but they did not response. I tried many times but just wasted my time. Do not waste your money here!
Order was still in process after 10 days
I will never again use the website www.thriftbooks.com. I purchased 3 books from these people, but they still haven’t shipped the order. They received the payment and must ship the order within 24 hours, but the status on the website showed that the order was still in process. After 10 days. It was too long and I decided to ask the rep about it, but he ignored me. Awful services.
Damaged books and rude reply from the seller
I found the website www.thriftbooks.com and ordered 4 used books from this seller. The delivery took some time, but the package was in horrible condition and several books were damaged at all. I tried to get compensation from the seller, but he refused and told me a lot of unpleasant things. So be careful if you use this website or leave comments if you have horrible experience with this seller.
Ordered a textbook from Alibris.com [protected]-1, ad stated (Very good May have limited writing in cover pages. Pages are unmarked. ~ ThriftBooks). Book is littered with writing /highlighted markings in 1/3 of the book.Thiftbooks requires that I pay for return shipping etc, incurring the cost of my labor to do. Not an acceptable solution.
