The San Diego Union-Tribune billing statement

I received a billing statement around the end of July, notifying me of my future payment -- 13 weeks, 26 weeks, 52 weeks, the amounts were $80.52, $161.44, and $323.68, respectively. As a retiree on fixed income, I called up on Aug 2 to try to negotiate a lower rate. After much negotiating with a customer service rep, we finally agreed on the following: $150.54 for 26 weeks or $301.08 for 52 weeks. The rep said that I would receive a new, revised statement in a few days reflecting the new rates we just negotiated.

I received a new billing statement from U-T the other day and rates quoted are EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS STATEMENT! No change. So what's going on? I guess I'm just going to have to get on the phone and haggle with you guys all over again. This is no way to treat a 91-year old retiree who has been a faithful customer for over 4 years. The San Diego Union-Tribune Newspaper delivery/account

I have been receiving the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper for 53 + years until today no paper, I called and spoke to the un-customer service regarding the missed paper and they said there was no account at that address and they could start a new service I paid in advance as always for 1 year at a time.
It is such a sad time we live in where you are unable to speak to someone in your own county and be able to speak to some one that actually cares.

I too am having problems with communicating with customer service. I don't mind talking to someone overseas, but Being an elderly person I can't understand anyone I am talking to. Just called today to inquire about my changes in my account and was told to call back tomorrow, because of technical problems. I can remember when all calls went to an office in Mission Valley and a nice lady would respond very efficiently and my needs were met. Don't know how long I will continue appreciate reading a well and great paper. The stories and production and content of the Union have always been informative and of a high caliber. My delivery person doesn't even have to get out of his car to deliver, jus a short toss up and over my porch railing and plop. The news is there for the day. He instead sits out in the center of the street and slams the paper into my screen door or ends up slamming it to the bottom of my steps.

The San Diego Union-Tribune Arrested in California child-trafficking sting

Jeff Light - The San Diego Union-Tribune arrested In California Child-Trafficking Sting . 474 people have been arrested in California in a 3 day sting operation called “Operation Reclaim and Rebuild.” Over 30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces participated in the operation, which saved 28 children and 27 adults.

“You are worthy of more. And we will work tirelessly with our partners…to provide you services and help you rebuild your life, ” Sheriff Jim McDonald said, addressing the victims during a news conference on Tuesday.

While this is a massive success for the movement to end human and child trafficking, there remains much work to be done. This huge operation will once again bring more conversation around this topic and the need for this issue to be taken even more seriously by the public. Child and human trafficking is extremely real and is prevalent, even in higher levels of governance, politics and finance.

This latest operation makes it clear too that the alleged Pizza-gate story is one that should not be dismissed without due investigation. We can’t just ignorantly dismiss something because we don’t want to believe it isn’t happening and that it might involve high level politicians and well known elites. We as a society owe all victims of this terrible crime thorough investigations into possible or suspected trafficking cases.

With that said, even if a person doesn’t believe there is a Pizza-gate happening, the topic and conversation itself deserves attention and proper investigation. Remember, there has been no official investigation one way or the other regarding the alleged Pizza-gate story that broke due to Wikileaks release of emails from John Podesta back in October 2016.

We must also remember back to when it was alleged that former BBC broadcaster Jimmy Savile was sexually abusing children, but was put off as a “conspiracy theory” only until after he died, when literally hundreds of people came forward to prove that he did sexually abuse children.

Additionally, over the years, the Vatican has paid nearly $4 billion dollars to victims of pedophilia, which stemmed from clergy members abusing children. When it comes to the elite, it doesn’t get much higher than the Vatican. If the Vatican is involved, there are certainly lower level, but still powerful, groups and organizations involved. The lies and cover-ups are unraveling. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sdut-jeff-light-staff.html Jeff Light grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., where his father was editor of the local newspaper.Over the last three decades, he has worked for newspapers and their web sites. He has been an editor, a reporter, a clerk, even a “hopper” – the person who throws the bundles of papers from the delivery trucks in the dead of night. He believes that journalism is one of society’s greatest callings. That is to say, it is one of the best things a person can do with his or her life.He studied poetry and creative writing at Brown University and has an MBA from the University of California, Irvine. He started as an intern writer in Syracuse, N.Y., in the early ‘80s. He was deputy editor, then Vice President for Interactive Publishing at the Orange County Register, where he worked from 1993 to 2010. He joined the Union-Tribune as Editor in March 2010.

As cancellation request was ignored, I again called on June 07, 2014 at 9:55am

being delivered? She apologized and stated that the request for cancellation

Sharita at 9:55am and asked why my requests were being ignored.

corrected.

As Enlace Publications were still being delivered by July 15.2014, I made one
final attempt to correct this unwanted Publication. Publication representative,

would be necessary on carrier. Call was placed at 4:09pm.

July

A sad state of affairs for The Union Tribune in San Diego. The Union Tribune is the only large newspaper in San Diego. They have no competition and yet they are barely surviving. The newspaper has to cut back on their staff with a number of them being fired. The VP has replaced these positions and others with companies outside the state of California and...
