PNC Financial Services Group rude

My friend and I parked in the nearly empty PNC parking lot in a strip mall shopping area. my friend drives a large truck and there is still snow on the ground so its hard to fit into most of the tight spots. As we approach the store, an employee of PNC rudely accosted us and demanded that we move the truck. When we told him what an inconvenience that was, he snidely remarked that it would be a greater convenience when we leave. The man then smugly waddled back to the bank with its empty parking lot, obviously satisfied that he had made us move out of principle.

PNC Bank has horrible customer service. They have employees that are very hateful. I was threatened and harrased by one of their reps. I tried to contact the managers and no one ever called me back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! If you like to be disprespected this is the bank for you!

For those who browse for complaints on PNC bank, I give them a -10 rating on their services and willingness to coorperate with their customers. Be ware if you want to get a loan from them, they will set a trap for you and eat you alive! DO NOT bank with PNC! I think if anything, bankers would most likely screw up this fine country of ours! Tax payer shouldn't bail them out. Let the bank burn!

We were in pnc in north east md and asked for some personal help with an issue of a check that was issued to one person signed and cashed by another and the manager of the branch Dorothy not sure of the last name but easily spotted was nasty and pointed her finger in my face and wanted to lecture me about why it was being questioned now...well when they are unwilling to do anything what else are you supposed to do.

PNC are basically legitimate thieves. They have stolen so much money from our bank account in the last 5 years, I could have bought a new car with it. My husband and I work very hard for our money and do not expect to pay overdraft charges for their mistakes. I am not dealing with them any further, DO NOT GO TO THIS BANK YOU WILL BE IN FOR MUCH TROUBLE.

PNC Financial Services Group credit card

I had a VISA card issued by PNC bank. I signed up to pay my bill online. Little did I know that hidden in the fine print, they say that by agreeing to pay them online rather than mail a check I agreed to no statements ever being sent. I agree I didnt read each word in the long pages one must agree to nowdays. I have about 40 credit cards and EVERY other one asks you, so you know what your agreeing to if they want to do the same. I realize paperless saves them money, but it is a good reminder to pay should you not remember when the paper statement comes so I always prefer paper anyway.

I used the card to spend the amount needed for the premium incentive and then tucked it away with a zero balance. About a year later a newsletter that I subscribed to for 1 year, helped themselves to my same credit card for another year. I didnt receive any renewal notice in the mail this just happened and I didnt know it. Since the card was tucked away I didnt know there was a bill. 30 days later its still unpaid as I still didnt know and now I had 2 late fees. I got a call from PNC asking be about the amount owed them. I said I had no idea! She told me who the charge was from. I called them immediately and cancelled. The account was brought to zero. PNC closed the account. They didnt tell me but that part is fine with me. They did take off the late fee. However they reported 2 negative marks late pay to Experian and my credit score fell about 50 points!

Considering that they dont sent notifications, and someone charged my card without me knowing it, and it was reasonable enough for them to take off the late fees, I feel they shouldnt be reporting negative marks against me as I had a very high credit score that I watch closely.

I called the number on the credit card and they were friendly but firm, NO WAY NO HOW are we going to adjust your negative marks. The agent didnt offer to let me talk to anyone else. I just feel this is very unfair.

So just a warning, dont let this happen to YOU. I feel its a bad way to treat customers. If they want to save a dime or more...and not send anyone statements thats fine but when this type of thing happends because they dont send statements, they should be more understanding.

PNC Financial Services Group va refinance

In November I called PNC Mortgage in Miamisburg OHIO, I filled out all of the information and was told my VA loan was going fine. Because my Original Mortgage was thru PNC, they were told that my Mortgage was not reaffirmed over 7 years ago. I was told no problem since it was going to be a new mortgage. I was told I had to have a $375 Appraisal, $50 Pest Inspection and $17 Credit Report. Which I paid for all of this and everything passed. The Closing was to take 60 days, 52 days into it only 8 days until closing. I got a call that said because my loan was not reaffirmed they would not refinance. I was told it was not right, but there was nothing I could do! If anyone knows something I can do, please let me know!

PNC Financial Services Group fraudulently held a cleared check

I am so angry with Pnc they claim convenient banking HAHA NO WAY! My husband and I received two checks one in my name one in his! We deposited checks into our checking account so that funds would be available for our black Friday Christmas shopping ! They posted and were only available in ledger then one was withdrawn from bank as misc withdrawal, so I attempted to contact back and my account was suspended, unable to reach customer service I contacted company who wrote us checks and they said that on the day after checks had cleared and would be avail depending on our bank disbursement policy! Over the weekend we received notice that one check was altered or fraudulent but the other was cleared in account, mind you from exact same company and they stated it was returned unpaid but the writer again called his bank and they said while we were on a conference call that pnc had already received notification of funds ! Still my account is suspended and I'm assuming that pnc is doing some underhanded things here ! One check clears one check doesn't one is ok one is fraudulent but writer and his bank confirm check is fine ! DO NOT USE PNC they have now left us trying to pay bills buy food, and figure out holidays which we had already figured out ! They are SCAM ARTIST AND THEY SOMEHOW FIND LOOP HOLES TO DO IT

I have had a terrible experience with PNC bank and will be closing my account as soon as humanly possible. I plan on putting my money someplace safer...like investing it with bernie madoff or putting it in my mailbox with a note that says "this is where i keep my money", like i said, a much safer place than PNC bank.

That is every banks "policy" cause it is legal. All accounts are "and" accounts which means the money in the account is yours not just your sons. At any time you can go in and take the money out and close the account. You have full access to the account and you also have full responsibility. With that said if your account goes delinquent your responsible for it. When they turned 18 you should of closed the accounts and had only their names on the new accounts. For them to take money out of the other account it had to of been delinquent for a good while and you should of been aware. When your name is on an account you should be checking on it. How is it PNC's fault?

My sons both had an account with pnc. Being their mother my name was added on to both of their accounts when we first opened them. Never thought to have my name removed. My youngest son lost his job when his place of employment closed. He hadn't used his account in months didn't realize it was in arrears. PNC took money from my oldest sons account to bring my youngest sons account out of arrears and then closed his account. Which then left my oldest sons account in arrears and with no money! They said it was perfectly legal cause with my name added onto their accounts it linked them together. I don't know about you, but i think that's just wrong! So beware parents out there at what your bank policies are!

Similar horror story for me also...
PNC accumulated $180 in overdraft fees in a one week span. First 2 @ $25.00 each, and next two within one day for $36.oo each. An additional for $36.00 4 days later and in addition to those penalties tacked on a $7.00 a day overdraft fee. Even if notice was mailed (unsure if it was) I would have still had $122 in penalties before I could do anything about it. Discussions with customer service and bank manager where I opened account resulted i zero adjustments or offers to lessen the financial pain!

Why do people continue to complain and moan about overdraft fees? People...if you don't have the money in your account, don't write checks or use your debit card. When you write a check or use your card, subtract it from your balance. When you make a deposit or get interest, add it to your balance. How hard is this to understand? You don't get charged the fees if you have the money in your account. Are they supposed to just let you spend and spend and spend with no money? Dummies!

PNC Financial Services Group stole $100 from me

5 months ago, without notifying me by mail, email, phone or personal contact PNC Bank initiated a $20 per month "Calculated Service Charge Type Hd" against my account. I only process 2 sizable transactions per month and hence had not reviewed the account. A few days ago I received a threatening letter from PNCBank say my account was overdrawn $1.67. The overdraft was due to the dishonest service PNCBank was levying on my account without my knowledge or permission. The "Financial Specialist" at the Waterworks Branch was curt and rude. I deposited $1.67 and will close the account tomorrow. I've had this account over 30 years. PNCBank is the most dishonest bank or financial institution I have ever dealt with ... Customer Beware is the watchword when dealing with PNC Bank.

PNC Financial Services Group sign-up bonus is a joke.

PNC will do anything to get out of paying sign-up bonuses. Also, employees do not give full and accurate
information. I set my account up with
Elka Jones at the 56th St branch in Indianapolis. She told me that I would quality for a $200
bonus if I direct deposit at least $2000 per month. No problem. Got my direct deposit all set up and
everything was good. Almost three months
later, I still hadn't received my bonus payout.
So I emailed Elka Jones. I had to email her twice during the course of a
week to get a response, which was "I'll look into it". She never got back with me! I did a secure message through the PNC
site. Got a response back from a
customer service person named Deb Batten, saying it can take up to 10 days for
them to resolve the issue. That was the
last I heard from Deb. Never got back
with me! I sent another secure message.
Yvonne Tubbs responded this time, stating that I did not have the qualifying
online bill payment. What the hell was
she talking about? When I opened my account, Elka Jones clearly failed to mention
this. I informed Yvonne about the fact
that this was never mentioned. I was told by Elka that I would get $200 for
signing up and having $2000 in direct deposits within 60 days. Period. That's a verbal contract entered into with a
representative of PNC. Anyways. Yvonne was no help and I was told that the
only person who can make an "exception" is the branch manager, Nikki
Olin. I spoke with Nikki, who told me
there's no such thing as a $200 bonus.
The most they offer is $150. Way to not know your promotions, Ms.
Manager! She was friendly though, but
told me that she had to speak with Elka Jones directly and would contact me the
next day. She kept her promise, but told
me that Elka stated that she did tell me about online billpay. Of course she said that...cover her own
###! So Nikki would not "make an
exception", however she did escalate this for me. I was contacted by Lauren Robinson in
Executive Client Relations. She spoke
with those involved and then offered to "meet me halfway" and
deposited $100 into my account. So...it
took multiple weeks to find out where my bonus payout was, I had to deal with
way too many people, both branch and corporate personnel, and still got only
half of what was promised to me. I will
be closing my account today. But I will
gladly take the time and tell this story to anyone who'll listen. Do not bank with PNC. Elka Jones….you owe me
$100!

PNC Financial Services Group the end of free checking!

Thank you SO much PNC! After 25 years of service you they have advised me that they have killed their free business checking and are now charging an unreasonable fee and are demanding a huge deposit to maintain checking without this fee! I am heading down to their lousy bank Saturday and cancelling ALL my accounts and switching them to my local bank, First Keystone, who still cares about its customers! I encourage anyone else affected to do the same - let the bank know by the loss of our dollars how much we hate them! Share this with all your friends and spread the word across the world if you think this is unreasonable!

I am an artist and writer and bring in less than $10, 000 per year in these activities. I do it more for enjoyment than for profit, but do sell some of my work. As such, I require a business license, sales tax license AND a business account. It is not my intention to become rich at this, just to be able to sell my works to interested parties. Even the monthly fee would extract too large of a percentage of my profits to make it worthwhile, and I certainly would not want to lock up $1, 500 with the bank to avoid a couple of hundred dollars in fees. As for the validity of my business, there are tens of thousands of people in my same situation with a combined net worth greater than the net worth of Wal-Mart (per Entrepreneur Magazine, 2012, can't remember the month.) There are artists, crafts people, musicians, summer carnival vendors, part time caterers and the list just goes on. Best to think before you post such a rash response. My greatest complaint is that these huge businesses, banks included, are always jack-booting the little fellow who is struggling to survive and make a few bucks. They say we are a nuisance to them. I say, why not charge the huge companies that eat up all their server space and take endless hours to support and cut the little guy a break!

PNC Financial Services Group business checking fees

Thank you SO much PNC! After 25 years of service you they have advised me that they have killed their free business checking and are now charging an unreasonable fee and are demanding a huge deposit to maintain checking without this fee! As usual, the big guys take it out on the small businesses I am heading down to their lousy bank Saturday and cancelling ALL my accounts and switching them to my local bank, First Keystone, who still cares about its customers! I encourage anyone else affected to do the same - let the bank know by the loss of our dollars how much we hate them! So folks, this is what PNC thinks of you after 25 years of service:
Dear Valued Business Customer,

In August, your Free Business Checking accounts will change to our new Business Checking. Because you are a valued customer, we want to help minimize any impact this change may have for your business. To help, we have set up a special customer site with more information.
To avoid a monthly $12.00 fee you must:
1. Maintain an average monthly collected balance of $1, 500 in your account.
2. Have a PNC Merchant Services® account.
3. Use a linked PNC Business credit card to make a minimum of $1, 000 in eligible purchases each month.

PNC Financial Services Group mistake and lack of service

1. My name was dropped from my mother's account, and I cannot use her account. No idea why? Hmmmm
Ask that gal over there.
2. That gal over there...I waited for 15 minutes on my lunch hour while she chatted on the phone. When
she was off the phone (of course I waited in seats and stared at her back) ...she took a client who walked through the door, and didn't make it right.
3. I tried to call the branch manager to complain, but, guess what? The line was busy for 20 minutes so I gave up.

Go anywhere but here. They are the 'WORST.

PNC Financial Services Group account closure

PNC was a good bank at one time but not anymore. My debit card was skimmed and they did nothing. I contacted the police and they found out who it was. I then opened a smart card which took 2.5 weeks to receive. Then there was no way to change the password because PNC does not know how to fix it so that you would not have to use you ss#. The branch manager was a complete idiot and started calling me names and they did nothing about it. But, they did close my account after 25 years and shut down my debit cards so that I could not access my funds. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!

PNC Financial Services Group theft

A few years ago my sons added me to their bank accounts so I could handle their local finances as they were deployed to Iraq. Not long after their return one of them overdrew his account and PNC took the money from my account to cover the problem. I went into the bank and asked how they could play Robin Hood and steal from me to cover my sons account. Basically I was told to get lost. Last week another problem on the other sons account in the amount of 200.00 and again they took it from me and then this week the other son was 241 in debt and again it was taken from me. Last year when this happened I asked to have my name taken off the other accounts and I was told that to do that I would have to close my account. I have had this account for over 15 years and it would really be a problem to restart. Basically PNC is a bunch of crooks. I am in thwe process now of starting an account elsewhere

PNC Financial Services Group lost 5, 000 check

We put a check in the ATM and received an image receipt for a deposit. The check had 2 signatures on it and only one person on the account. So instead of a phone call to ask the second person to verify their identity they told us the check was deposited and then withdrawn and we can't have it back. It's now an image that is in a back room where they handle return items, either in Pittsburg or Columbus, they weren't sure. The manager assured us that she would speak to someone after 3 days and their was a slim chance that they could intercept the "image". Then the image would be MAILED to our house, but not deposited into our account. Even though the second signature has been verified and ID shown to the manager. In the meantime Pnc has our check and our money for at least a week. Watch your money folks, you never know what back room it might end up in. Unbelievable!

PNC Financial Services Group refusal to accept my deposit

I attempted to deposit $422 in coins and the teller told me that li had to call her a day before I attempt to bring coins to the bank. She went on to tell me that she did not have any where to put my coins. Therefore, she did not accept my deposit. The teller displayed total attitude. Her behavior was totally unacceptable and should not be alloyed in a place of business.

PNC Financial Services Group refuse to release insurance money

Same story, different storm. I have over $26, 000 in PNC's hands after Hurricane Sandy. I have submitted everything and paid for the renovations out of pocket. They were supposed to overnight the check last week after I called the President of PNC Financials office but they couldn't even do that right. They "accidentally" mailed the check through the post office. Six days later, no check. And guess what? Surprise! The 1st came and I did not pay the mortgage. And won't until I get my insurance damage money. The insurance company was a dream. PNC, a nightmare.

PNC Financial Services Group terminated my loan

Decades ago from a local bank (St. Francis Bank, later to become National City now PNC Bank) I took out a home equity loan to make some home improvements and consolidate other debt. It was a loan that had been at a zero balance approximately 5 years ago, about the same time PNC Bank accepted a 7.5 billion dollar loan from the tax payers of the United States. This loan helped PNC Bank, other banks and companies through a crisis in the banking industry. Congratulations, PNC has repaid that loan and more. From the tax paying citizens of the United States, I say thank you!

In 2011 my family confronted the crisis of my job loss, where this PNC Bank home equity loan helped us get through some medical bills and COBRA payments without having to tap into more of my retirement funds. Fortunately I have been back working in the industry I know best for about one year now. So, three months ago, I am told that this equity line of credit (which I have always paid more that the required payment) is being ended. I was offered the option of an 8% installment loan to pay off the balance of approximately $16, 000.

I have now accessed my retirement funds and will pay both Federal and State income taxes at a high rate to pay this loan off. As one of the less than 50% of citizens that actually pay Federal income taxes (even in 2011 when I was out of work) I feel insulted by PNC Bank, a company that I as a tax payer once helped get through a financial crisis. . We who sacrifice to pay our debts even through our individual crises feel like patsy’s, when given options like this installment loan.

To ad insult to injury, I have recently received a pre-approved credit card application from PNC Bank. Also, after having paid the stated final balance on this home equity loan, I have received a $15.60 finance charge. It is one more stick in the eye from this terrible institution.

PNC Financial Services Group mortgage blunders

I closed on my house in July 2012. I received a Winter Tax bill in October 2012 and called PNC. After speaking to several customer service reps, I was able to get them to understand that PNC needed to pay my taxes with the escrow they are collecting in my house payment. In February 2013 I received a past due Winter Tax bill and called PNC. This is when it was discovered that PNC sent $900 of my money to another city for somebody elses taxes. After many calls and much discussion, I was told that everything would be straighten out and that is when I received a statement from PNC that my mortgage escrow was short and my house payment will go up. I was told to continue to pay the old house payment amount and they are stil working on straightening my mortgage out. In April, I receive a letter from PNC that I did not pay enough in my house payment so they took money out of my escrow to cover the difference (even though the I was told to pay the old amount and even though PNC took $900 of my money and sent it to a city that I don't live in).

PNC Financial Services Group discrimination

I asked the teller to make a copy of the check; while it was still attached to the letter it was received. The teller was very polite and completed the request. I wanted to deposit the check while receiving money back. He asked the teller next to him if that was OK; she stated that the manager would need to OK that. He repeated his co-worker’s response and stated that he would ask the manager to approve. This branch office has all glass windows, very small area. I could see the teller interrupt the manager and another staff person to ask if she would approve this money back. The teller returned and stated that the manager refused to approve. I asked how much can I keep from the deposit. He did not know, refused to interrupt and ask the manager again “you’ll have to ask her yourself.” “Please wait over there in front of her office”.

I went to wait for her and another associate came and asked me to come into his office instead. I repeated my request and he explained that the only person that could approve this was the manager. They had separate offices, but shared clear glass wall and an opening between them. I asked him to please ask her. He hesitated, got up walked around the clear glass, knocked on the wall and asked her to approve the deposit. She said “no”. He returned to sit in front of me and repeat that she was the only person that could approve this and she said no. I asked if I could talk with her in person, while continuing to sit behind her desk, she then stated to me through the glass wall that “this is bank policy”, I asked please call someone at the bank to get approval. She did make a phone call, leaved a voice message, so that I could hear her that she wanted this person to call back and explain that it was bank policy. Without any effort to help me she then informed me that I would have to wait in the hall. I said that this was very important to me; I would wait for the person to call back, I requested that she call someone else at the bank. “A bank the size of PNC, must have someone else who could approve this, or could I call a bank manager at another branch I knew that could ID me for her. She said you will have to get out of his office so he can work. I said ” there is only one person waiting, you can wait on that person, or I am willing to wait in your office. All I want to know is how much could I keep from the check?” I then texted my husband in the car that I would be a while, so my husband sent in my daughter to check on me.

The manager proceeded to call the police. Both my daughter and I were discriminated against. Even the police were shaking their heads and rolling their eyes as the manager spoke.

Background: I was the person in which PNC bank local reps needed to approach to get permission to market in my business. PNC had marketed several times, to over 125 staff. That was the reason I had asked to call another branch manager to confirm my ID.

Also; I went next door to Northwest Bank and my request was handled with a smile from the bank manager who leaved his office, personally greeted myself and my daughter.

PNC Financial Services Group unexplained charges and fees

For almost 20 years, I had a small IRA invested in a CD with National City Bank. After NCB was acquired by PNC, my CD ran out and I wanted to reinvest in a similar safe investment. In speaking the PNC investment rep, I was very clear that I was not concerned about getting a great return on my money and just wanted another no-risk, no-fee way to keep this money in tact as a continuing IRA. I was also clear that I wanted this to no-hassle and didn't want to tough it for at least two more years. He talked me out of a CD and said I'd be much happier with another investment that met my criteria. On top of it taking several trips to the bank to fill out an inordinate amount of forms, less than one year later I received a bill for $40.

When I went to the bank to complain, the original rep was no longer there and i had to work with another to get this resolved. She had to make several calls over several days to determine that I couldn't get the fee waived, but that she would get me out of that investment into a no-fee investment that met my criteria. This again took several trips to the bank. Worse, less than one year later, i received another bill for $40. This was after an entire year of earning absolutely nothing from the investment. Not even $1. When I tried to resolve this at the bank, the person I had set up this investment with was no longer there (second time in a row) and the new person said they couldn't take care of it at the local level and I would have to call their investment branch in NY.

The investment branch did not care about my situation. When I told them I wanted to pull my money out of the investment they said it would be a charge of $75 to do so. This was another fee that was never disclosed. When I asked about when the investment terminated and when I could get my money out of PNC at no charge, they said it would still cost $75 no matter how long I waited. And it all took several months just to get to this point.

The original PNC Investment reps both assured me there would be no charge for my small $4, 500 investment that i was only trying to keep as an IRA in a no-risk, no-cost format. In the end, they erroneously charged me $155 and provided horrible customer service in doing so. This is how I was treated while having deposits in their bank in the $100, 000 range. Do not patronize PNC. They run a sham operation like I've never before. Stay away from these pathetic, petty crooks.

PNC Financial Services Group fraud

Was told by PNC we could refinance our home, they denied us because they said no one was holding our PMI, for which we pay $200.00 per month. We have gotten nothing but the run around! They are liars, underhanded and incompetent. It seems that the ones that are still paying their mortgages on time with a ridiculous interest rate, are the ones being screwed by this company and The Obama Administration!
