The Grant University Money scam

I recently got my first web page hosted with a store front to try and start a small business, so in turn I started searching the internet for grants and found a sight that stated to send $1.98 for shipping a cd that would give me all the info I needed to get government grants to help me in my business venture. Unfortunatly to my dismay they have successfully removed $132.90 above and beyond the original withdrawal of $1.98 which is all that I authorized. I am on SSI disability and I don't receive a large amount of money a month, so any amount of maoney taken from me is a big hardship. Now I am trying to find out if I can get this money back and how. The name of the scammer is TGU The Grant University and it is supposedly located in Draper, Utah 138 East 12300 South Suite C#[protected] and I have called and I don't get a response and no cd either. This site is a rip off big time and I should have realized it just by looking at the address closer. Can anyone out there help me or steer me in the right direction to get my funds returned. It's Christmas and now I can't get my grandkids nothing for Christmas because this place took my money.

The Grant University Fraudulent Charges

I like the rest or at least most of you ordered a grant CD from The Grant University and also Grant Dollars Now. While the cost of the CD's was not very much, the final cost of doing business with these scammers was to high for me. After ordering these two CD's I was charged $69.95 from grant univ. and $58.61 from Grant dollars now, I was also somehow signed up for accounts with SBA Connections for $13.42 per mo., IWB Club at $29.95 mo., Grantforyoutoday at $58.61 per mo., My grant for you at $13.42 per mo., Thats a total of 243.96 which I did not order, signup for or even know about until I received my credit card statement which like most you had OVERLIMIT FEES that added up. I was able to get the credit card company to dispute one of the carges and I was able to get the IWB Club to issue a refund of $29.95 there is still alot of outstanding fraudulant charges on my account. Since this all started in December or2008 and it is now May 5th 2017 the credit card company tells me it is too late to do anything about it, even though I filed disputes with them about these fees well within the time limit. I filed disputes for all of these charges on-line at the credit card companies website, to which they replied that they never got the disputes. So now who do I turn to? Well I am turning to all of you - I want to file a Lawsuit against the Fraudulant Grant Companies and any Bank or Credit Card company that is or was not willing to help stop these charges and thier overlimit fees from adding up. The banks that hold these credit card accounts have been ripping off the public for to long now, They have lined the pockets of Our Government Officials to pass laws and look the other way so that they can raise interest rates which until not long ago (I will have to find out exactly when) could not be more than acertain cap, which I think was like 19.99%, in any case now they ar raising rates on consumers faster than the price of gas, sme rats as high as 39.99%, Thats nearly 40% yrly. or 3.333% per month. The Government back when they took care ofits citizens would not let these banks charge so high an interest rate, you can get bette rates from a loan shark. I have a credit score of 783, thats pretty good, but I still get credit card rates as high as 28.99% and as low as 12.15%. What I am trying to say here is that your credit card company has an incentive to let these fraudulnt companies charge our accounts because they are raking in the dough and to be quite frank most consumers do not even look at thier statement much less file a dispute if they have charges that don't belong to them. So the banks make out even with what few accounts they have to put a credit on.

If you are interested in joining me in filing a class action Lawsuit to stop this abuse and to shut down a buch of fraudulant scamming websites then please e-mail me at [protected]@yahoo.com
I hope that there are some of you who want to put a stop to this type of fraud and will join me, And please anywhere you can, warn people about these scammer companies, if we don't look out for each other no one else will either. It is not right for peopleto get rich off of the people who need help the most. We have to take back our country and rid it of this new breed of thieves.

Sincely, Jeffrey Rogers

I ordered a Cd from the grant university which advertised Free cd, just pay 1.98 shipping and handling and they will send information to get Free money from grants on 10/21/08. The cd arrived on 10/25/08 and did not even work. Now I find out that I was charged 69.95 today 10/29 for membership. I did not authorize any membership. I called the toll free number and was told I did not cancel within the 7 days trial. How could I, the cd did not arrive until 10-25. They do not tell you that a 7 day trial membership starts when they MAIL the cd. Now I have a charge that put my credit card over the limit and have extra charges for over the limit and the still cannot use the CD, the grant professor! This company is a ripoff. DO not order anything from them.

just paid $1.98 for cd information on how to obtain a grant. they gave me my username and login code and said i can use the site immediately, when i tried to use the site it stated that my username and login code are not valid. and now i have come to this site and found so many others have made the same mistake i just made in trusting this site on government grants. i hope i can put a stop to them trying to take 69 dollars from me which was not advertised in there literature.

I inquired about the grants online last week. They gave me a phone call on 10/8/08. I spoke with a guy and at first it seemed legit. I was told that there was only $1.98 charge for shipping & handling. I gave my info and then the guy mentioned something about a trial membership and afterwards said that there would be a charge of 69.99. He started trying to fast talk me and I told him to just cancel the whole thing. He gave me a customer service number [protected]. I called as soon as I got off the phone with him. I got a voice message that said the office was closed and the office hours were from 8-5. So I called the number that he called from. He then told me that he would send my request for cancellation and I asked him how do I know that? He could tell me anything then charge my card. So I got off the phone with him and called the 877 number back and spoke with a female. She then told me that I couldn't get my 1.98 back but will cancel the 69.99. Oh and she claimed that a manager wasn't there. I went off on her and she said that they would call me back in an hour. It was BS. So I got off the phone and received a call from them wanting me to confirm the order and I hung up. To fix that I called and cancelled my card. They can keep the 1.98 but won't get any money from me. Before I cancelled, I called and transferred my money into my bank account. SO TO EVERYONE THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF IT! DON'T TRUST. CHECK OUT COMPANIES ON [redacted].COM. I did after the fact and guess who had a bad report!

This 'company' has failed to give full disclosure of their intent to collect $69.95/month from our checking account. They led us to believe that there was a one-time fee of $1.98 for shipping and handling of a CD on how to obtain a government grant. They then conned my wife on a later date by telephone into buying the same CD without providing her with the additional terms of $69.95/month. They then, WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION, withdrew 139.90 from our checking account in the month of October! This caused our checking account to go negative and our bank then charged us $87.00 for NSF! We want our money back as well as the NSF fees that they costed us!

The Grant University close out account which is wrong

I took out the promo ad on grant money, i have been charge almost $700 per month. I have never even used this qwb site to try to get a grant, nor do i plan to use it. I want it shut down, took off, kill it, torture it, waterboard it, and get it off my credit card. I have not been able to even reah you peole to get it jclosed down, i have called and called and i am always told i was calling out of region, and i have never been able to reach you, finally i am tryinbg this, i sent another email and it came back, so what am i supposed to do? If this amount is charged on my account, i will close out the credit card and you won't have one to put charges on. I never knew i would have to pay 70.00 per month which is absoultely ridiculous for i can't pay this and i am ont going to pay iot. I seen on the internet just how much of a fraud this company is. The Grant University RIPPED OFF

WHAT A RIP OFF! I sent for their "Free CD" and paid shipping of $1.98...now what shows up on my credit card but a bill for $70. Apparently there was fine print about a monthly payment unless you cancel it.

You can't get through their customer service stonewalling to anyone in charge; they put you on hold for ages; then say, "tough luck...you should have read the fine print."

This is just another example of consumer fraud. My bad. I should never have 'bit' on the website ad.

SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN.

I ordered from the grant university based on a review of government grant companies on http://www.grants-reviewed.org/1/ and I got ripped off. I canceled my order well within 7 days and still got charged 69.95 from gu and 29.95 from IWB. You can't even trust the organizations that are claiming to protect you.

I too tried to get my money back to no avail.

The Grant University Unauthorized debits to my checking account

I found this company when searching for home improvement grants. The information on their website led me to believe that the only fee involved was $1.98 for postage and handling for their CD. A monthly subscription for their services was not mentioned anywhere. I have since been billed almost $210 for monthly charges, and am working with my bank to recover these funds. Stay away from this company!

The Grant University Scam company

I want to get my message out to consumers. The Grant University does NOT offer Grants. I ordered their CD for $1.98 thought this would help me find grant information for my daughter who is in her 1st year of college and needs additional financial help. They stated I would receive the CD in 7 to 10 business days. 11 days ago and I still do not have the CD.

I also found out this morning that they charged my bank account $69.95. I have called then twice today have sat on hold for over 2 hours till a representative came on the line. They have told me twice now that a supervisor that I requested to speak with will be calling me within 1 hour, and no one has.

You cannot get anywhere with this company over the phone. Do not know if you could over the internet, however based on what they have done I am scared to email them. afraid they would take out more money from my account.

This company is a SCAM!

The Grant University I just got Scammed

I have been scammed. After reading these complaints, I realized that this is the same thing everyone is filing the complaints about. I thought I was getting a CD that would help me to get government grants for financial funding for college. Well, all I got was charged $1.98 shipping, then $69.95 for services I had no idea what they were for, then after calling was told I would get a refund, and cancelled my account. Then, come a month later I get another $69.95 charge and no credits issued back. When I called I agrued for over an hour about this to be told no way, you're not getting your money back and that's it. I have contact my bank and am disputing the amounts, and they are investing and will refund the monies. I will never do this again without first goggling first. Wow, what a crooked world we live in.

The Grant University Scam and cheating

I paid the $1.98 and they charged my card I try to cancel it because I never received the disk that was suppose to be sent out. The number I called they never answers the phone and the [protected]@thegrantuniversity was no help at all. This was way back in July, I canceled my card in September because they kept charging me for something I couldn't cancel, after trying numerous time even e-mailing them numerous times.

I then filed the papers to get my money back and was told to cancel my credit card in order to do so it is now October and I just found out they have my new credit card information and is charging the new card after I was already credited the $69.95 from the credit card company and when I try to cancel once again it is so hard so they will keep charging me. I have canceled the card once again but don't think I want to get another one if they could get my information that easy.

I am trying to buy a house so I wanted to check out grants. Some how I got to The Grant University. They promised me a CD and I only had to pay $1.98 for shipping and handling, but by buying the CD you enroll in their program that they charge you $69.99 for if you don't cancel in seven days.

Be aware that this is a monthly charge. If you go back and look at the advertisement this is put in something like clear letters.

Don't have a busy life like myself It was two months that I realized that I did not have my CD. But they were charging me $69.99 for the service. I also thought I needed the CD to use the service.

They could not tell me when they sent the CD but they could take my money. That is because they never sent the CD because if they did they would be able to tell me when they did.

They constantly phoned me and put enfises on $1.98 I don't remember where they got my phone number from.

So be aware what you do on the internet. I have been taken for a ride I am a poor person I don't have $69.99 to just give away. I can barely pay my rent.

Please help us complainants file a class action against this scammers. Something has to be done to stop them taking advantage of people in need. I am one of those and now I can not even use my bank account since they took the little money that I have in there.Just for the records I am on welfare since I am a single parent, a father to two minor girls.

I did the same thing - but am taking steps to get my money back. Here is how you do it.

Contact your credit card company and issue a dispute on the charge by The Grant University. Tell them that you did not authorize the charge of $69.95 - remember this is a monthly charge. They will raise a dispute with the Grant University and issue with a refund. They will then investigate the dispute with the Grant university on your behalf. They will levy a charge against the Grant University - and the Grant University will obviously have to prove that they took the money from you legitimately. Because they never posted the charge - you never knew you would be charged the $69.95.

Also look for another charge of $29.95 from the Ideal Wealth Builder Club - there is a link to them as well. Dispute this charge as well. You should get your money back and create a file with the credit card company on The Grant University and it will go somewhere towards closing this company down.

I hope this helps - Good luck

the same exact thing happened to me. My father died shortly after I sent off for this "free" CD (I did agree to pay 1.98 for shipping and that's where they get your bank card info to charge you each month) and several months passed until I realised that I should have more bucks in the bank than I had...I have NEVER went to their service site nor have they assisted me in any way what-so-ever! Still there it was on my bank statement, month after month a charge of 69.99! I called to complain and got NOWHERE with these people ...no supervisor for me to talk to. I immediately called my bank and during that call the bank representative told me they The Grant University" were attempting to withdrawal another charge at that very moment! This is unbelievable! I also am not in any position to throw this kind of money away. People beware of this company - when I put in for their CD I did not see anything mentioning this charge per month or I could not have afforded it...period!

Grant University Class Action Suit

I suggest that the hundreds of good people get together and get these people to stop there practise of bait and switch. They took immediate payment from me before I even received the CD. I went to log on with no success and I tried the telephone numbers supplied and no answer still to this date. I tried the direct telephone number of the representative Lisa Smith with a non existing number. I wrote support at the grant university .com and they din't reply until after the 7day trial period whihc I never started in the first place. They informed me I had been canceled but no refund of the initial $69.00 would be remitted. I went to the Utah Better Business Bureau and they have said that everyone should contact them. Contact me on rpaul@randallpaul.com if you want to file a class action suit to stop this American Fraud. It must Stop!

I too was also sucked into this nightmare of rip off artists, that they call themselves The Grant University. Hahaha How can they do this and get away with it.? This is America and we work hard for our money. I thought for $1.98, I would get a CD with sites to check for grants and schoolarships. This $1.98 turned into $69.95 plus they sold my information to another company who has nothing to do with grants and schoolarships, and they took $29.95 out of my account. However, this company did refund me the next day. I canceled my account because who knows who else they sold my information to. They are down right thieves. Scamsters. Predators. EVIL!I filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC and where ever else I can. This has got to stop. This is criminal.

I was given a login and pin number which do not allow me to sign in to check the services. This is a fraudulent tactic as they will not ever be contactable and their mail box is always full and support never contacts you back and they charge you $69 per month. This is a definate no go people do not get sucked in to the $1.98 CD charge as the whol point is to give them your credit card details. My person I talked to gave me her number to contact and it doesnt exist. Lisa Smith on [protected].

I had the exact same experience from the $1.98 s&h charge, followed by the $69.95 in December and today $29.95. The company dealt with me just like they have the others. Only problem is they have annoyed and tried to rip off the wrong one. Because they happen to be bold enough to post the major news channels logos on their site I have contacted both AbC In Washington @ [protected] and CBS [protected] informing them of the web-site and the scam. I have also referred them to this site to view all of the other reports for you good people. I figured a non-working CD at a 2$ loss was nothing to worry about, lesson learned right? NOPE. Because I called in when I saw the charge $69.95 on my account too...Then I spoke to a woman for nearly thirty minutes, left my number to get a return call and the call back "suprevisor" HUNG UP ON ME after saying we cannot refund your money then just click. I am just angry that they are still getting away with this. They even have separate websites suggesting that this grant university is the only legitimate grant advisor. Someone needs to STOP these people! And I want my money back!

I did not know anything about how they got the information to use my checking account information to automatically withdrawl $69.95 each month. How are they doing this? It caused a very important check to bounce. I don't know at this time how long this has been going on. What can I do to get my money back?
It should be illegal to automatically allow someone to automatically withdrawl money from your account without notification to you personally. The government should be responsible for making sure that the consumers are protected.

I had the same thing happen to me last fall with the same charges exactly, 1.98 for shipping of a disk, but they charged me three months in a row 69.95 for membership fees. When I finally realized and reached this company- Grant Consultants, they said my membership was cancelled and then charged me one more time. Finally my bank blocked them from my account. Now, last week, a new company with the URL nfssupport.com 1.00 one day and then serveswd.com the next day for 39.95. The first company's 1-800 # didn't exist. The second company's # produced a salesman who tried to get my credit card number again and I asked for a supervisor when he couldn't pull up any information w/o it. No supervisor would take my call because they said they had no account information on me. I am waiting on a new bank card and putting my money on a prepaid Visa until then.

google grants for businesses. I think the have a network of about three phony websites and a phony blog that recoomended any of the fraud sites. So I choose grant university. They said they were only going to charge me for shipping lik two bucks. So give them all my information credit card and all, and place the order then this. I soon get a call from a slick talking country conman posing as a cold caller confirming the order.

One week pass I do not recieve my CD promised to me then two weeks pass I see a charge to my account for 70 bucks that is when I knew I was a victim of fraud.

Make sure you call and cancel those too, they give you cancellation #, but i will probably call and cancel my card as well. Then on the 14th of Nov I got hit with the $69.95 charge. I tried calling them but of course noone is in. I sent them an email requesting cancellation. I got a reply stating my memberships been cancelled. Then they attached their cancellation policy. LOL Thats cool, I will be using their same policy to dispute the charges.
"To cancel your subscription to The Grant University for any reason please contact us at [protected] or e-mail us at support@thegrantuniversity.com. And keep the Quick Start CD-ROM as our free gift to you. The Grant University's entire liability, and your exclusive remedy, shall be a prorated refund of the monthly subscription price paid. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable."

They should be prorating days not used. We'll see if that happens.
Dont buy from Grant Univeristy. Is their any legit place to get grants from? Or are all they just scams? Funny how im on disability and the govt can't even tell me where to look for grants.
They all work together I think.

I had the same experience - but I ran across their refund policy. I had called to cancel and threw a hissy fit in September and they refused to refund me. But then I called today (11/17) and immediately cited their return policy and without hesitation they refunded me at a rate of $2.33 a day not used. That means I caught the charge made on 9/20 on 9/25, therefore they are refunding me $58.30. I can live with the lost $11.65. Here is the wording of the return policy:

"To cancel your subscription to The Grant University for any reason please contact us at [protected] or e-mail us at support@thegrantuniversity.com. And keep the Quick Start CD-ROM as our free gift to you. The Grant University's entire liability, and your exclusive remedy, shall be a prorated refund of the monthly subscription price paid. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable."

You can find the full refund policy here: http://thegrantuniversity.com/policy.html

Also beware they sign you up for IWB Club and 2 months later charge you $29.95. Call and cancel now or get a new card. I cancelled my card and got a new one as I feared other charges.

"As a bonus for enrolling into The Grant University, you will be provided unlimited access for 21 days to the Ideal Wealth Builder Club, (www.iwbclub.com). This is a huge scam!

The Grant University Fraud

I ordered their 7 day preview of their free grant program. On the fifth day, I was so frustrated that I could not clearly understand their website and directions. I contacted the company by phone [protected] to cancel before I would be charged $69.95 on my account. There was no answer at this number, I tried again on Friday, same thing...on Saturday I got a recording that they did not work on the weekend and would have to call back Monday or leave a voicemail. I left a voicemail and gave them my name and phone number telling them that I was cancelling and have called several times today, Monday, and have been on hold forever telling me that all agents are busy, but they want me to leave a voicemail. They have charged my account as of 2 days ago. I have not heard from them nor have I received the material that I was promised. Please help. Cathy Albert

I was charged $69.95 2 months in a row despite the fact that I canceled. The site is also linked to 'Ideal Wealth Builder Club' which charges you $29.95 a month. No where do they say that to access the site you will be charged $69.95. I believe this is automatic. The phone number called is a call center in the Philippines. They do not refund the money unless you call in 7 days.

Here is what you can do. Contact your bank or credit card agency and dispute the charges stating the fact that you never agreed to any monthly charges and did not authorize it. You did agree to a $1.98 charge for the CD. The credit card company will refund the money $69.95 and the $29.95 from Ideal Wealth Builder Club and take on the dispute directly with The Grant University and Ideal Wealth Builder - the cost of the dispute will be for them to defend and the credit card company charges a cost to them (not you) for the trouble. You get your money back from the credit card company.

Because I did not agree to the charges - because the charges are not advertised, they legitimately, you did not approve the charge. Good luck.

This company had me on the phone, and I ordered a trial DVD which cost 1.98 for shipping and handling. I was told nothing else would be charged to my account, that I only had to pay the shipping cost of the cd to see if I was interested. Now I have a $69.98 charge on my account. I phoned them and initially spoke to Kris Myers, who spoke little English, where she said I agreed to it in small print on the website when I ordered. She then passed me to Koreen Anderson, who also spoke broken English, and said she could not give me the name of the General Manager, only the supervisor Joe Guidose. She said they could not give me direct phone numbers or extension to the managers. If I had a complaint she would give me a fax number to fax it to. She said the 69.98 Would NOT be refunded. I AM FILING A CIVIL LAW SUIT IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ME! MY EMAIL IS RHWILDKITTY@GMAIL.COM. Any suggestions for good attorney in Utah would be appreciated.

On 9-11-08, this business offered a free Grant CD as a special offer for the 9-11 tragedy. I checked the website and it claimed to be legitimate and was heavily advertised on 10 major news networks. I requested the free CD with the understanding that there would be a $1.98 charge for shipping and handling fees, and a 7 day free trial membership to the resource library online, which I agreed to.

I printed this out for my records, and it was 3 pages, with no terms and conditions. The only disclaimer I read ( out of all the website pages ( I printed out all 11 pages for my records) stated that the CD and trial membership was mine to keep, but after the free trial there could be monthly fees. I logged on to the website twice within the first 7 days, and found very little resources.

The website did not support any of the web seminars and I was unable to successfully sign up for any of the podcasts. Furthermore when I entered the virtual classrooms, they were all empty. So, this 'resource' did not amount to anything. The CD was supposed to arrive in 5-10 business days, but never arrived, so after waiting patiently for 6 weeks I e-mailed and requested that they check on it.

They informed me by e-mail that my membership expired on October 31st, said nothing about sending out the CD. I e-mailed them back stating that I was aware that my 7 day free trial membership had expired (should have as of 9/18) but that I had never received the CD. They also sent me a paragraph on terms and conditions that they claim I agreed to. I was shocked to read that they had been charging me $69.95 a month all the while, and had never sent me any notification that they were charging me, that I had a membership, that my membership had been canceled, not anything.

So, I called them and spoke to a woman with an Asian/Indian accent who was very polite, but did not verify that the CD had been sent, or offer to send one. She said, so sorry but I agreed to the terms and conditions. So, I filed a disputed charge complaint with my bank which covers the ATM card I used for the $1.98. They replied to the bank and claimed again that I had agreed to terms and conditions that I had never seen before.

The bank stated that ' Per Customer Service Representative, I did not cancel until October 21st, 2008', which is not only a lie but coincidentally happens to be the exact day that they billed my credit card for a second $69.95. So per their terms and agreement, my membership should have been good until November 21st.

I did not have any contact with them from the time I initially paid the $1.98 on 9/11/08 until my first e-mail to them 10/31/08 about the CD that I never received. And it was on 10/31/08 that they e-mailed me and stated that my membership had expired on 10/31/08, not canceled, per the Service Rep's statement to my bank regarding the dispute.

So, my complaint is that I did not receive the CD I paid the shipping and handling for ( I asked them by e-mail twice and by phone once and they still will not send it, or provide me any verification that they had ever sent it). And, I did not authorize or agree to being charged 69.95 on 9/22 or 10/21. If I did, they would not have written me that my membership canceled 10/31, or told the bank that I canceled the membership 10/21.

I authorized my bank to place a stop payment order in for $25.00. Now, I have a new charge for $29.95 from the IWB Club - which apparently is associated with The Grant University, I had to look the number up through the internet to figure this out, the number is [protected]. Other people have also reported having unauthorized charges made by this company from their bank accounts.

I don't know what to do at this point except put in another stop payment for this one as well. This is unreal. I hope this report helps someone else steer clear of this rip-off scam.

I paid the $1.99 or whatever it was to have the CD shipped to me, but it was of no help in finding a grant and no one could be contacted to talk to. They were supposed to help me get just the right grant and show me how to fill out the forms to get a grant.

Same story here. I ordered a CD on 11/03/08. Recieved an email next day. Didn't get the CD until 11/12/08. Next day $69.95 charge on my account plus some others accumulating. Drove my account into NSF with all the other bank charges. I have been trying to contact them to no avail. Over $400 in charges total. I have called most of the other places, cancelled, and am getting refunds, except from Grant University. I am a retired veteran and living on a limited income. I have to file fraud reports because of my bank. I didn't see anything on their CD order page or in their website about a $69.95 charge. What a scam!

I found a advert for a free Cd on getting government grants for only the postage of $1.95. I ordered the cd received it on 10-06-08. However on 10-03-08 my bank account was charged a fee of $69.95 I was never advised of this charge nor did I authorize this charge. I have now received 2 separate charges of $1.00 each they were both taken out of my account on 10-06-08 one was from Easy Saver the other Was American leisure. What was this for? The cd has no information that you can use. It is a totla useless item.

I have now received a charge for $29.95 from IWB Club this one is also a mystery. Add it up a total of $103.85 that has been scammed out of my bank account. I have reported them to the CC, BBB in my area.

I have also received about 30 phone calls on my cell phone from companies that they have bought the phone number from The Grant University. CNN reported that this was a reliable company for getting grant info, I guess not you can't believe anybody or anything. I guess I learned my lesson. Hope I can get some of my money but back in my account.

I was told that I would recieve a password for the web site and it never came. I was allready 4 days into the trial period and I had not even been able to get on the web site so I called and I was on hold for ever and then just cut off. When I finally got back on hold I went to leave an e-mail but it was full as it was yesterday also. I was calling to cancel the order because I refuse to deal with people that don't do what they say.Thursday Oct 9th 2008 is the deadline for cancelling this order then they will be charging my card $69.95 per month for this service and I do not want it, but I have a feeling that no one including me is going to have much luck getting through to this set up.

I was scammed tooI did the same thing - but am taking steps to get my money back. I was so pissed off, I am writing everyone who was ripped off by Grant University.
You can also check out www.grantripoff.com which is looking into this case.

You were issued with a confirmation email with terms, a login and password. Print this out or keep this file as proof that no charge amount was ever mentioned in their confirmation - this is proof that you never authorized or knew of any charge of $69.95

I called them and they gave me their present address:
The Grant University
450 Hillside Drive, Suite 200
Mesquite Nevada, 89027

The phone number is [protected] - but this is a call center in the Philippines. They refused to give out a U.S. direct phone number and also refused to state the name of the President of the company.

Also look for another charge of $29.95 from the Ideal Wealth Builder Club - there is a link to them as well. Dispute this charge as well. You should get your money back and create a file with the credit card company on The Grant University and it will go somewhere towards closing this company down.

I hope this helps - Good luck

The Grant University took $69.95 out of my bank account. I canceled the day after I signed up with them and I had 7 days to cancel. The terms state that you have to cancel within the 7 days and they will not charge your account. When I contacted them they just told me they were sorry and put the $69.95 back into my account, but they still caused the fees totally $69.95 and they won't take care of it, regardless how many times I've contacted them by email and phone. The Supervisor Jason Sanders told me I had to contact the legal department. I've been doing this for over a week and still nothing has happened. Now I'm responsible for these charges, that I wouldn't have if it were not for this company. This company needs to be taken off the internet and dealt with.
