Texas Direct Auto car

I bought a 2006 Nissan 350Z from these people 3 weeks ago. The day I went to get the car and test drove it, I reported to them that it was pulling hard to the right. They said they would do an allignment while I was doing the paperwork. Came back 20 minutes later and said it would be a 2-3 hr wait (we had already been there for 4 hrs) for the allignment. Instead they gave me a voucher for an allignment at the place of my choice and they would reimburse me. The very next day I took the car to Goodyear for an allignment. They informed me the car had been wrecked, had a bent subframe and rocker arm and couldn't be alligned. I called my salesman, Miguel, and told him. He said to get a certified estimate and they would see what they could do. I got the estimate which was just under $3000. Was informed that not only was the subframe and rocker arm bent, but the radiator has a hole that has been patched with epoxy, and the frame for the radiator is broken. Incidentally, the carfax report is clean, but the car has obviously been wrecked! I emailed the estimate to them, and it took 3 days to get a response. When I got a response it was "sorry, you're on your own, there's nothing we can do". I finally got the car of my dreams, and they screwed me over repairs. My car is not safe to drive, and in return they got my 2007 Ford Ranger in trade that was in excellent shape and paid for. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! At least until you get an inspection from a mechanic NOT affiliated with Texas Direct Auto. They DO NOT inspect their cars as they claim on their website!

Texas Direct Auto Worst Staff Ever

I was told by my company to find a good, used cargo van under $10k. I found one online at the TDA website, a 2006 Chevy Express with under 70, 000 miles. I was puzzled, as the salesman Rodney said I was required to put down a non-refundable $500 deposit. Apparently, if you don't like the car you want to see, they require you to pick something else, or they just keep the money! SCAM! Any rate, the van looked good, so he took my credit card info and said to come by around 4 so the van could be cleaned. I got there at 3:30 hoping it'd be done early. At 6PM they finally brought it around, and it was filthy! It had 4 dry-rotted tires, and one went flat on me during the test drive! The right turn signal was out and the cargo door didn't open. However mechanically the van was sound. I limped it back to the lot and told Rod it was a go if they repaired everything. I finished all the paperwork and Rod said they needed to order a part, the car would be ready by noon the next day. Having been burned by them before, I called at noon and guess what his reply was? "Van will be ready by 2, we are cleaning it" So, I roll in at 2:30. Between then and f'n 7PM, 3 people have come by to tell me the van is being cleaned. They finally bring it by at 7:30. I'm told to pull forward, so they can get me my paperwork. "Should't be more than 5 min" the guy said. Well I waited 5, and got outta there. As soon as I hit the highway, it's obvious the van is way outta alignment. As of yesterday, one of the "new" tires is cracking, and I still haven't gotten my paperwork. The front dest girls act like you are interrupting their day. Elania or whatever her name is, never stopped texting on her phone, and got real annoyed when I had questions. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!. I know the van wasn't a high priced item, but this type of disrespect is disgusting.

Texas Direct Auto Extended Warranty

I purchased a car from Texas Direct Auto on 6/21/10 and was sold an extended warranty for an additional $1, 931.00 that was called the MasterTech Vehicle Protection Program. We were given all of the paperwork on the warranty. We had an issue with the car and took it in to be repaired. We gave the dealer the warranty information (Ron Carter Cadillac) and they informed us that the Administrator informed them that Texas Direct Auto had never submitted the policy to them and they are required to do so within 60 days of the sale. I have now been informed that the warranty is null and void. I have had difficulty getting anyone to call me back from Texas Direct Auto. I will attempt to have the charge reversed through American Express, but feel that I have been cheated.

I bought my truck 11/2011 and took it in 9/8/2013 for repairs on the rear window switch, transmission slippage, airbag light .
There was a TSB issued for the transmission therefore they said it was listed as maintenance and not covered.
Luckily the transmission only needed the spline cleaned and lubed.
The air bag sensor was found to be bad on the front bumper and Master tech would not cover it.
They covered the window switch.
I was stuck with paying 280 dollars and Master Tech paid 160.
It sucks to pay almost 3k for a warranty and then not have coverage on critical items.
The salesman told me if anything goes wrong the warranty will cover it. His words not mine.
Be carefull dealing with Texas Direct Auto.

This company is awful. I did my due diligence and read up on my warranty before I took it into the dealership to get worked on. I have the "Ultra" warranty, which is supposed to be the best coverage they offer. I read off of their website the exact details of the warranty and the claims specialist I spoke with explained to me that these items fall into a broad category of excluded coverage. It was quite a grey area but on paper it looks black and white. They were able to conveniently put these included coverage items in an excluded parts section. I called them out on it and they said they could have one of their people come out and look at it. They explained it would take a week for them to have someone come out. This company is a joke. I'll probably purchase another car from Texas Auto Direct just so they can offer me this warranty again and I can laugh hysterically at them.

The exact same thing happened to me. The only thing they would do at first is refund my $1834. The cost of my repair was $2154 and would have been covered under the warranty that was never turned in. After all was said and done they did make it right by covering the $2154 by paying out of pocket for my repairs. On top of covering my repair cost they gave me a new warrenty for 24 months or 24000 miles, when I only had 8000 miles left on the original warranty that was never even valid . Even though they made things right, and I actually came out on top without paying a dime. I should have never been in that position to begin with if they would have done their job right the first time.

Texas Direct Auto Price Discrepancy

I found a BMW on eBay that I was interested in, and called the number provided for the "buy it now" price. The salesman (Johnny) gave the price, and instructed me to call back with a card number to leave a $500 deposit. I called back, gave my info, and the gentleman I spoke to immediately removed the eBay posting. Before I authorized the transaction I asked what the bottom line, out the door price with TTL would be. I was told it was on another screen and it would take awhile to locate, to which I replied that would be fine, I'd wait... He gave me a price, which I was already told by Johnny. Johnny told my boyfriend the same price. After I authorized the $500 deposit charge, we received a call saying we owed a significantly higher amount than previously stated three times... I called back to speak with Johnny who immediately became defensive and rude and yelled over the phone. I told him I asked the "out the door" price and it was significantly lower. During that conversation, I told him I could not pay that higher amount and his reply was that he would NOT under any circumstances refund my deposit. He argued with me and said he could go back and listen to the recorded conversation and would return my call, and hung up on me. I have yet to receive a returned call. I immediately called my bank to stop payment. Luckily my bank quickly stopped the payment. These people were rude and defensive and extremely unprofessional.

Please, do NOT do business with these people. They're scam artists. I wish I had found this site before I dealt with them. I also found out they have a BBB score of "F."

Texas Direct Auto Horrible Experience

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Experience! I put in an application and for a whole week I had to call everyday to check the status! Not one time did I recieve a phone call from them. If I hadn't found a car that I REALLY REALLY wanted I would have just let it go. I finally got approved. I live about 1 hour from the dealership. I went up there to get the car and ended up being up there for almost SIX hours! When we test drove the car we found that the lights on the inside where not working and that the back door was not working, we informed them of this. We where told it would be fixed. We finally signed all the paper work and after where told that they didnt get a chance to fix it and that we would have to bring it back. We get in the car and the LOW FUEL LIGHT IS ON! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?! I just bought a 22000 car from you the least you can do is put some gas in it! The next day we call to see about getting it fixed and they tell us to bring it in and drop it off because there not sure how long it would take to fix and that they WOULD NOT lend us another vehichle while they had ours. So now we are stuck with out a vehichle and will probably get it back on LOW FUEL AGAIN! I do NOT recomend anyone to buy a car there.

Texas Direct Auto fraud and scam

My husband and I flew from Alabama to Texas to pick up a car purchased online from Texas Auto Direct. When we got to the dealership they informed us that they had lost the key to the BMW Z 4 we purchased. Then they offered to purchase plane tickets for us to fly home since BMW couldn't remake a key for 3 days. We agreed until they offered another car at the same price. A BMW 325CI convertible. We fell in love with the car and agreed to the purchase. We traded the car a year later and found out TEXAS AUTO DIRECT had sold us a car that had been wrecked and it was not disclosed. After several messages to the general manager, we are still waiting on a return call. We lost almost $5, 000 on the car since it had been wrecked! They run a SCAM!

Texas Direct Auto Failure to Deliver Vehicle

On March 1, 2010, I purchased via phone a vehicle from Texas Direct Auto and put a $500 deposit on my credit card. That day, I received the paperwork via e-mail. I immediately completed the paperword and sent overnight priority delivery and wired the remaining $25, 230.14 which included a $600 fee to deliver the vehicle. After that, I heard nothing from the dealership. I placed numerous calls and sent numerous e-mails to the dealership which were ignored or was told that the shipping manager or someone else would get back with us on shipping information. However, they did not. After 2 weeks, I called to ask to speak with Customer Service Manager. Diana took the call and said that someone would call me right back. No one called back. I called again and asked to speak with the General Manager or Owner. They said that they were not allowed to transfer calls to this person. I again called Diana and she became defensive and began yelling. I called back and got the Director of Finace Todd Yarbrough. I told him that I did not want to do business with them and asked for a refund. He said that it would be wired the following day. I sent an email to him to confirm our conversation and he said that it woudl be sent by check when he could get 2 signatures but would not committ to when that would be. I provided him with an overnight delivery account information and requested a confirmation number of it being sent. He did not respond. No one ever apologized or offered to correct the problem. They stated that they were the #1 dealership in the US and were very arrogant & disrespectful. I still have not received any information on when I will get the refund. When you wire someone $26k in cash, you should expect that some treats your money with respect and courtesy.

I have never filled out a complaint on any business. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with.

Texas Direct Auto Dishonest auction practices

Placed a bid on a vehicle at Texas Direct through ebay. The bid exceeded the reserve price the dealer had on the car. Got a notice from ebay the next day that my bid had been canceled. Called the dealership and they said someone came into their lot and offered them a better price than my bid. Ebay policy states that once a reserve is met on an auction, the vehicle is considered sold. Of course, the price might go up and it might go to another bidder, but the seller has essentially sold the vehicle once the reserve is met. Called the ebay and they were great to help me file a formal complaint against Texas Direct, not that I have any hope that it will do any good. Finally got hold of Jimmy Gloff at Texas Direct and he said they made it a policy to do that and that they weren't wrong in doing so. So be it. But beware of you think you have bought something from these cheats. They don't follow ebays terms of service and will screw over the auction bidder.

Texas Direct Auto Deposit Fraud

I saw a car on ebay and read further in the details... It said call for buy it now ! So i called to see what the deal was, the salesman told me that if I wanted the car they could end the ebay auction immediately and take an additional @1000.00 off the price, and all they needed was a $500.00 deposit. Let me tell you folks the car in the pictures was amazing! Not the case when I arrived to see the vehicle! This piece of ### didn't even look like the car on ebay! Not to mention that I was waiting around for almost 3 hours while they "went to bring the vehicle around!" I checked there ebay feedback and they have thousands of satisfied customers with thousands of positive feedback reviews! I wish I would have checked here first.. I can promise youanything I purchase from now on I will extensively check out the company first.. To make a long story short, they woulnd not give me a refund and I didn't take possesion of the car! They are cyber criminals and from reading these posts.. I think they should all be put into jail...

Nothing on the internet requires people to be ethical and truthful. Why would you put money down on something you had not seen in person yet? Since you probably did not pay through PayPal, you have no arbitrator rights--which they knew since they dealt outside of eBay. Report them to eBay as well.

I was car shopping in November 2010 and stopped by a local dealership (Tom Roush in Indianapolis) to see a used car my husband had previewed and wanted me to see. The sales guy I asked about the car found out the manager had allowed the car to be driven home by an employee but tried to strong arm me into making on offer on a car I had not seen (only picture). I told him I was not comfortable talking money on something I had not driven yet. I listened to his crap a little longer and left; refusing his follow up phone calls. And car salesmen wonder why they get no respect.

You may be able to take them to small claims court for very small fee since you've lost your $500 deposit. I'd also call any consumer news stations in their town and try to get them to do a story and write the local newspaper. Report them to the Better Business Bureau as well. Bad press may make them do right by you.

Texas Direct Auto Unethical Ebay dealer

The facility at Texas Direct is very impressive, however you must make sure absolutely everything is perfect prior to leaving the facility. There is absolutely no chance of getting any issue resolved once you have left. My car was delivered without the DVD necessary to make the navigation system function, at the time I was promised they would mail it out to me the next week. Two months and several email messages and phone calls later, none of which they have returned, it is clear they never had any intention of fulfilling their obligation. They are the typical shady internet car dealer - anyone dealing with them should be cautious.

Texas Direct offers their pissed off customers (EBAY CUSTOMERS) $200.00 to enter a 100% satisfied feedback if it is done at their office. I found this out when the car that I purchased from them on EBAY did not exist. I told them to "shove" the $200.00 and gave them the EBAY feedback that they deserved. Not only did my feeback NEVER appear on their EBAY feedback Texas Direct stated on my EBAY feedback that I showed to the dealership drunk and urinated on the lot. I don't drink. Bottom line is these guys are crooks and EBAY knows it. No more EBAY for me. As for Texas Direct...I live in Houston and continue to here horror stories about them. BEWARE!

Class action against Ebay is what should happen.. They get a daily barrage of people who have complained that Texas Direct took the sale that they advertised which they state in there ads for every car that most auctions end with a phone call. Does that mean then that the company with such a high rating is going to illegally break the Ebay policy and sell the auto outside of Ebay? Of course one would expect to give a credit card over the phone as one of the listed ways to lock up the transaction, However thats when they take the sale out of Ebay. Folks EBAY not only knows but they are a willing partisapant if they choose not to do anything to stop it! Sure then you complain to Ebay and you get the same letter prewritten by Ebays legal dept that says how you messed up and allowed this sale to close outside of Ebay. Listen who knows more?.. The dealer whom sells thousands of car or the occasional Ebay'r whom once every couple of years wants to replace there a car. Ebay knows that with 100 % of the cars getting listing fee's and less than 5% of those closing fee's...They are choosing to keep the listing fee's and allowing a company with a 108 complaints with the BBB and a "F" rating. By the way its almost impossible to do with the BBB since being a member of BBB is almost a guarantee to get a good standing rating. To get a negative rating in fact...Well just answering all your complaints will keep a company in good standing. I have inquired on companies whom have had multiple complaints but they just give a great rating and state the amount of complaints and say they have responded satisfactorily. That all you have to do if you pay the BBB fee's. So to get a "F" RATING BY THEM IS PRETTY SPECIAL:)
This company only cares about the next deal. They are horrible yes, But Ebay is culpable and if anyone ever did a class action which I usually think are bogus and admit I usually think there are spun by hard to please greedy people and greedy lawyers. I would be on board with one. because I relentlessly pursued was promised my money back. I could tell the average person would cave and they would have become another victim of a company whom Ebay helps them look lilly white.

Texas Direct Auto Don't do it

Don't do it. Save yourself the agony. These cars are cheap for a reason. I purchased an Audi Q7 still under factory warranty. I felt really great about my purchase for about a month until I took it to the Audi dealer for service and really discovered what poor condition the car was in. bad brakes, missing parts, broken parts etc. I feel like my car was ran through a chop shop before getting it "show ready" for sale. I do however have to take responsiabilty for not sending it to a mechanic before buying it, but I figured what do have to worry about, it is still under factory warranty.

Texas Direct Auto Downpayment Scam

Texas direct auto advertises and holds auctions on ebay. The cars are also located in Houston Texas at a huge dealership. I saw a car on ebay and immediately contacted them. They said yes the car is available please come on in to have a look at it. I get there and then was told the car was at a remote location and wouldn't be available until later today. However I was asked to put a deposit down on the vehcile so that it would not be sold under me. I thought well it is very resonably priced and the pictures showed an immaculate vehicle. I asked if the pictures showed the true condition of the vehicle and was assured as such. So I put the money down. I did not receive a call that afternooon so I contacted them, the vehicle is not there and no one knows where it is. Next day I receive a call, "Your car is here they proclaimed." I hurried down after work and had to wait about 45 minutes for them to locate the vehicle and bring it for me to inspect and test drive. As it pulls up I said that cannot be it, the whole rear passenger side was sideswiped along a pole. My salesman said there you go. I immediately point it out. Upon further inspection every single body panel has multiple areas of damage, all very visible. The fron bumper is a different shade of silver and the tailight has a hole and several cracks. I get inside and the glovebox is broken and appears to be painted black to match as the edges are all tan. The TPMS is lit and apparantly the rear tire is almost flat. I bring this up and they say "It's ok, just be careful." The vehicle drives ok, but it is very misrepresented. I ask for a refund of my deposit and they say adamantly NO! "Either purchase this or choose something else we have, oh and you have seven days to do so or you forfeit your deposit."

This is the biggest scam I have even seen. I will NEVER recommend them nor PURCHASE anything from them.

Just made a purchase from Texas Direct Auto (TDA) before the weekend. I must be one of the few

that actually had a good experience looking at all the different reviews out there.

I found the low miles in-warranty truck I wanted ('08 Chevy 2500HD diesel crew cab) for $3500-

$4000 less than dealers in my area, I got $2500 MORE for my trade vehicle than a quote from Carmax

(nortorious low-ballers in my opinion).

My advice is do your research, hire an inspector, and... do your research.

The pictures of the truck I bought were represented properly on the online ad. I did buy at the

reserve price offline to save a little money, so no protection by eBay. I saved $500 dollars

doing it this way, I also used some of my new saved money to HIRE AN INSPECTOR. It's worth every

penny of the $120 - $150 you'll pay to get this peace of mind. If you are driving in from out of

town (I'm from San Antonio) or if you are out of state you NEED to do this. I used Lemon Squad,

and they got it done in two full business days. But give yourself some time, from my dicussion

with the inspection company TDA only allows inspections on certain days (probably middle of the

week), don't expect to put a deposit down on Thursday, order an inspection, and pick up the car

Saturday.

An inspector won't get 100% of every little flaw, but they will get the major stuff and most of

the cosmetic stuff and they will test drive the vehicle. Plus, it's one of only two ways you can

get your deposit back - the vehicle has to fail a PROFESSIONAL on-site inspection or the vehicle

has to be mis-represented in the online ad.

TDA sells used cars and some have limited warranties, if your budget is so tight that you can't

afford another $100+ for an inspection on a multi-thousand dollar purchase you shouldn't be

shopping for cars.

You can hire the inspector before you put a deposit down and currently Lemon Squad will give you a

refund if the car is sold before they get out there to inspect it. You of course run the risk of

another buyer purchasing the car, but if you are worried about your $500 deposit then consider

this option.

Also - as I mentioned before, do your research. Yes, it's exciting to see your perfect car and get

caught up in dropping that deposit so no one else buys "your" car, but take a deep breath. I

watched their listing for several days and I talked to my sales rep Bobby a few times and waited

over a full day before I put down that $500 deposit. I actually found a better truck for my needs

by waiting 36 hours. Their inventory changes every 1 - 2 days. And they will let you move your

deposit if you find another of their vehicles before you close the deal.

I was able to work out all the details on paperwork, financing, and trade-in estimate online,

through email, and by phone. It took several days to get through all of this with the normal

hustle and bustle of life. They even Fed Ex'd the paperwork to me since my wife couldn't drive in

with me to sign. Give yourself some time to do the deal right. Shop your bank or credit union for

financing comparisons, let Texas Direct Auto know what the competition is, they want to earn your

business and matched or beat several of my rates on fiancing and extended warranty.

My experience at the lot was as expected. I arrived on a Friday at 3p - it was already moderately

busy - but I was in and out within 2 hours (test drive, trade-in review, signing papers), and that

was including a slight delay due to a little mix-up on what time I was to arrive that day. If

everyone had been on the same page I would have been out of there within 1.5 hours or less. There

are a lot of employees/sales people - it is kind of a mill sales atmosphere, you can't expect

these men and women to be 100% knowledgeable and know the details of all the different cars they

sell, but they have a pretty nice showroom and lot, and a play area for the younger kids. A snack

bar area, tables, and a few TV's helped pass the time. They are a little short on available

seating, I'd expect that to be a problem on Saturday's.

You should expect to wait if you are a walk-in customer, it's an unfortunate fact of life that

businesses will cater to their customer's that have money down or are picking up already purchased

vehicle. Let's be realistic people. They aren't here to make friends or hold your hand, they

want to sell cars.

My trade-in was already listed on their site 2 days later, I checked the vehicle history report

included with their listing and it appears accurate. Only descrepency is my trade was repaired by

insurance for a minor accident that does not show on the history report, but the ad does not

represent the vehicle as a accident free vehicle and as far as I can tell this an independent

history report that has nothing to do with TDA (it says provided by eBay Motors all over it). All

the dealer is doing is cleaning up these vehicles and selling them.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. This dealer is for consumers that know what they want, have

their finances in order, can spend a little time doing the research on what's best for them, and

are not afraid to spend a little money for an inspection. Will every buyer be happy? No. Will

most buyers be happy? Probably. Don't expect a lot of hand holding here, but expect a good deal

if you do your homework.

On October 28, 2010, I and my husband went to Texas Auto Direct in Stafford, Texas to purchase 2005 Hummer H2. We saw the Hummer H2 online at Ebay and we called Texas Direct Auto and spoke with salesman Mr. Darren Deshay and we expressed our interested in this vehicle. We were told by Mr. Deshay in order to reserve this vehicle, we would have to put a $ 500.00 deposit down to hold this vehicle. He also stated that we were not happy with the vehicle or it did not agree as advertised on Ebay we would receive our $ 500.00 deposit back. We agree to the $ 500.00 deposit and the vehicle matching the advertisement stated online. The $ 500.00 was paid with our debit card on Saturday, October 23, 2010.

My husband and I went (October 28, 2010) We waited at the dealership for 30 minutes before the Hummer H2 was brought to us for a test drive and to inspect it. Upon inspecting the vehicle, we noticed several things wrong with this vehicle. Listed below are some of the things we noticed wrong on the vehicle.

§ driver side door panel had a two holes in it

§ three cigarette lighters were missing

§ oil on the engine

§ white paint stains on the outside of the vehicle

§ vehicle not cleaned

§ missing a side panel on the side walls of the vehicle

§ and many other areas that needed to be address

We feel Mr. Deshay was very untruthful about the Hummer H2 listed online at Ebay. He lied to us over the telephone about the Hummer H2. He just wanted to make a sell and receives our money for this vehicle. This is false advertisement! we do not receive our deposit .we will be going online telling others customers about this company false advertisement and to beware of this company. We are very disappointed in this incident and I DO NOT want Texas Auto Direct to repair this vehicle for us. We have lost ALL trust and faith with this company and all we want from Texas Auto Direct is our deposit for the amount of $ 500.00.

The Manager and the Salesman were very rude and we would hope they do not treat other customers in this manner. My husband and I DO NOT want to do business with a company that is dishonest, scam and disrespect to their customers. We Want everbody be aware they are NOT TO BE TRUST...

Texas Direct Auto Terrible Service

I purchased two vehicles from Texas Direct Auto. A G-35 infinity and a Hummer H2. Both vehicles look great.
One thing I have noticed on both vehicles is they always spray paint over the front bumper area and the undercarriage. They do this with no prep work so it washes off in a car wash in a couple of months and then you see the real paint with many rock chips or scratches. Thats not so bad but it did cost alot to get it fixed on both vehicles.
Second it takes several hours to get help when you arrive at the dealership and that is putting it mildly. I had and issue with the Hummer with the DVD player not working and the car driving almost sideways it was so out of alignment and the tire in the front was bad. The salesmen said not to worry he would get me a new dvd player and for me to have the front end fixed and send him the bill. Well as of today 8-30-10 I still have no dvd player and this is almost 2 months later. I have called no less then a min of 20 times and have documented each time incase of having to take it further, the vehicle was so dirty inside that I brought the salesmen outside to explain my dissatisfaction of buying a pre owned certified car. It was not checked out at all and I dont believe they do any more then put a key in it and see if it starts . I can prove this since the hummer tells you what percentage of oil life is left for your vehicle and it was at a big (0) ZERO. So the bs that the cars are checked out is a bs story. I have had no problems with it so far but they sell you a load of cow crap..I am not going to buy again from them but you do save money but you will have to put our money after you find the hidden damage.
And by the way my salesmen even quit after I bought my car so I guess the customers arent the only one s not satisfied. Good luck Gary Cason and good move.

Texas Direct Auto is a great place to use a bunch of users. Test driving a car is there specialty. So go there test drive a handful of vehicles and get out. We drove three cars they were all extremely dirty and one smelled horrible. Every vehicle we saw had alot of miles for the price. I told the so called sales rep (Jason Anderson) I was just looking from the start. When we where done and ready to go he was shocked. He said I wasted his time and made him work to hard retrieving the cars. This guy worked with us for about 30mins. This guy was all smiles then turned on us in a blink of an eye. I you want to buy a nice vehicle at a good price go to a dealership don't waste your time with these con artist.
If you are an illegal alien or Obama lover these are your people. USE THEM DON'T LET THEM USE U.

The prices are reasonable but the service is less than good. I purchased a vehicle from them in November 2011. As far as certified pre owned I would have another company check out the vehicle before buying I asked the sales person when the oil had been changed he said he had no idea. We waited forever for the vehicle to be brought around after all the paperwork had been completed. I bought the vehicle as is but they offered to paint the hood because it was in less than decent shape as far as paint. When the vehicle was taken home my Wife was going through the glove compartment and found a piece of paper with the state of Pennsylvania on the letter head I told my Wife it was probably built up north. I had purchased a tool box and I wanted to mount it with the bed bolts I crawled under the truck and noticed the underneath of the truck was completely rusted so therefore the truck was from up north was never told that by Texas Auto Direct. I guess they would not want to tell you that. Basically they have decent prices but be very careful with your purchase look over it carefully top to bottom front to back I would be purchase another vehicle from them but would be real real cautious with the next purchase. And to add to the insult they will not fill the vehicle with fuel I left with a fuel light on and had to hope I mad it to a fuel station.

What a waste of time. If you're thinking about buying a vehicle from this dealer i recommend you think twice. I found a vehicle i was interested in. After 3 hours of waiting and filling in paper work, the manager comes up to me and says that the price on the vehicle is incorrect. The price the computers in their system was different from the price on Ebay (7, 000 dollars difference). Is that false advertisement or what? i have pictures to prove it. They didn't want to work with the price and the manager Mr. Carranza kept trying to wash his hands saying that its not his fault. For those who think that visiting the place just to test drive their vehicles please listen. As i was waiting for the vehicle i chose to test drive, an employee pulled up a car for a couple. The woman and the man were about to drive this car without it being inspected. A customer leaped out of his seat to tell the employee that one of the tires was completely flat. Guess who they would of blamed if the car would of driven off the lot with a flat?

Texas Direct Auto SCAM!

Texas Direct has numerous cars listed on Ebay. I saw a Volvo s40 listed and called them about it. Of course, they wanted me to complete the sale outside of Ebay. I did. The salesperson Johnny told me so many lies I can't even recount them. One of the big ones was that the car was immaculate. IT is FAR from immaculate. The car is missing factory pieces on the interior, banged up console, banged up door (Interior). I also, specifically asked him if they had the title and he told me yes and that the title would beat the car to me. Two weeks after the car is delivered, I still do not have a title, nor can they tell me when I will have one. The car smells incredibly moldy, like it was sunk in water. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company. You will be sorry you did.

Texas Direct Auto Vehicle not as advertised

After numerous searches online for vehicles, I narrowed it to an 07 Yukon Denali XL that I found on EBAY that was listed through Texas Direct. I called the listed agent (Jimmy Gloff) to inquire about the vehicle and how this process worked. I was told about the $500 deposit and since I wasn't going to use EBAY, that they would knock $500 off the price and that would cover the reserve price. I secured the vehicle by placing the deposit on my credit card. I was not able to get a visual on the vehicle since I live in Wyoming but I believed the pictures provided on line were sufficent. When I got to Texas Direct, the vehicle was in their shop. Jimmy Gloff told me that they were having a problem with the navigation system. After waiting some time, the vehicle arrived at their front door and Jimmy then told me that the Navigation Disc was bad and that he would have one shipped to me. After finally getting to inspect the vehicle, there was alot of interior scrapes and scratches that you were not able to pick out in the pictures. Figuring the money I that I saved, I could replace those pieces and still be money ahead. On my way back home, I overheated about 300 miles north of Houston. Come to find out later, the head gasket was leaking. GM warranty covered this problem. The cruise control also did not work. Not being from the area, I was not going to get on the Interstate to test this. I am glad that I purchased the extended warranty. Back to the original problem, the Nav system. After a couple of weeks, I contacted Jimmy Gloff about the Nav disc and he then told to go ahead and order my own disc and that Texas Direct would reimburse me. The disc did not solve my problem. I had the problem diagnosed and it turned out that the Nav/Stereo unit was bad and would have to be replaced. Jimmy Gloff told me that Pat Tucker, the service manager, would have to handle it. After many emails went un-answered, and after at least 10 phone calls and and finally get 1 returned, I was able to explain the situation and Pat told me to provide him the p/n of the unit and the cost of installation and he would take of it. This conversation finally took place on June 28th and I emailed Pat the info he had requested on June 29th. I have called and emailed since and have not received any contact back. Here it is, July 14th, almost 3 months after I purchased the The Yukon and the main problem I had when I left Texas Direct is still a problem today. What they may save you in money does not cover the lack of customer service provided. I anyone would still choose to purchase a vehicle from Texas Direct, I would highly recommend having everything done before you leave because after you leave, you are just another number in there 0-60 million quest!

Texas Direct Auto The quality of the car I bought

Ok, enough is enough folks. I have been buying cars; luxury & sports cars from Texas Direct Auto now for over 2 years. Some I keep & some I ship overseas. Not one of them was in anything but the condition they represented it to be. If it had 50, 000 + miles, the price reflected that & I was asked if I wanted to purchase an extented service contract, which I did at least 1 of my purchases, being it was an Audi A6 w/40K miles on it. I was treated well each time, they are shipping these vehicles literally all over the world. I compared each auto I purchased to what else was out there in the market on cars.com, autotrader & a few other sites. Their prices were the lowest. Do you get it yet? You are paying for what you get! If it has potential issues, buy one under the factory warranty, if it is out of warranty, buy a warranty for it. OR WOULD YOU RATHER GO SIT IN A DEALERSHIP IN YOUR HOME TOWN & HAGGLE FOR 4 HOURS WITH SOME IDIOTS & END UP WITH A HIGHER PRICED VEHICLE? Buyer beware means do your homework then buy a car or truck or suv, not after you buy it. Grow up, wake up, quit whimpering. Their prices are lower for a reason. I asked for an inspection of each of my autos & got it. I guess this you alls 1st little excursion into the auto buying business outside of your sparsely populated home towns. Everything is negotiable in this world. If you feel like you got screwed, then go look in the mirror to see whose fault that was.
I will keep buying my autos from them. Why? Because I finished hight school & I know how to buy my cars.

agreed the prices may be lower ( not all cases), the cars are stinky and remain stinky, that you get tired waiting there until they service it and then give up, this is only a warm up, they sold me a sonata with former inclusive, bad brakes, wheel, cam sensor, callipers/brake fluid inject totally gone and these problems were realized one after the other within the next fews days after i purchased it. it broke down twice in 2 days, 1st time on 50 south while going to their stafford center to have problem A fixed, it broke down due to problem B to make it worse, after a 2 hr wait the tow truck arrived, i was at kirby st exit, you say enough is enough, well not yet, they kept the car for a week, after a week i go pick up the car after a 2 hr wait without exaggerating, coz they said it's fixed, the next day it breaks down again, as the 2nd problem wasn't fixed which obviously i wouldn't know as i took their word for it, the brakes locked out completely this time, i was by jefferson st downtown, while i was heading to the mall with my wife and trust me it was life threating at both the times it broke dwon to pull over to the exit, it was gods grace that the reached a safe spot. well another hr and a half wait before the tow truck arrived at jefferson, after reaching thier center, they said that Pat is leaving for good as he was the one who i talked the 1st time, it took abt hr and hour before they cud arrange someone to talk. they have not come to a resolution regarding this car, i was going to wirte the complaint and saw this msg so cudn't help commenting, i will come back after i finish talking with the GM and the based on the outcome and also some ppl are rude over there an don't treat you correct if they know you have come back with a problem.
obviously everyone does thier homework beofre purchasing a car, you cannot help if lies has been told to you and misrepesented, all have their high school unlike you who probably just done his high school, as the way wirte it naive, you probably one of thier own ppl writing to patch things up, if you geniuley are happy, write on ebay don't come to a "complaint" board trying to point others at fault, ppl here are with genuie grievances including me.

I did not read the posts first or do my research as I normally do. They talked me into getting off ebay also and now, I am having a hard time getting my $500 deposit back. I have left several messages for Pat Tucker to no avail. This is such a crappy company and I don't know why they are not shut down.

You are right to the extent that the price the vehicles are hard to beat and one should expect some flaws based on these prices. One should do their homework before making such purchase. However, the low ball prices do not replace the service they provide or should I say lack thereof! You are a number and them answering any questions you may have is nearly impossible to attain an answer too. Also if a problem is noted right away, they are aware of the problem and promise to resolve the problem even after you leave the lot, that promise should be fullfilled. Not all problems can be fixed on site and their promise to make it right should be kept. You should not have to call and email with no response back for months on end to resolve something they promised to fix before you left the lot. Also, if "you alls" refers to us as some sort of redneck nation that have a hard time comprehending the basic realities of used cars, then you are sorely misspoken. That shows your lack of education and maturity.

It appears you are clearly the "exception" not the rule with these people. I am looking for a vehicle now and I ran across their ads on Ebay. Since I live in Houston, I thought I would look at what they have to offer, but not before I checked them out online. And am I glad I did. I would never consider even looking at their best deals. I followed up by looking at the BBB complaints and other websites. These people are obviously predators and the typical "used car salesmen". I appreciate all of the posts and warnings. I will continue my search...

There are more cars/trucks in there inventory than you can imagine. This is what I noticed when I was there The inventory that the post on the internet, is trash, this how they get you hooked. Then when you get there you realise that the car is **** then your ******. So you have to look at something else, was fortunate in that I found a Mercedes that was in great condition. I looked in the glove box for receipts to tell me if the car was maintained. Called the shop where the work was done/verified it, checked the CARFAX very important.. Even called the previous owner that lived not to far away. She verified that the car was hers. It was a repo. Even looked up the NADA on the car. If you do not do your homework its your fault if you get a lemon. The only way to get your deposit back if there is nothing for you, is to threaten taking to small claims court or a letter from your friendly attorney. GOOD LUCK ! THIS IS GOOD INFORMATION. IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THESE STEPS YOU MAY JUST GET A LEMON.

Was going to purchase from Texas Auto Direct and put down a $500 deposit on the car I wanted. I was told I was allowed to take it to the mechanic of my choice, which I did just to ensure the car was sound. The car failed the mechanics review, so I did not purchase the car. Now they do not want to refund my deposit, even though thier policy states that they will refund the deposit if the car fails a mechanics inspection. Now they are treating me like it is my fault the mecanic did not approve the car, using all sorts of excuses and manipulation in order to not refund my deposit. BEWARE, do not give tem a deposit before you go look at the car and get the mechanic's inspection. They treat you nice when they want your money and extremely rude if you have any issues. I was really excited to get the car but now I am just so disappointed. Whole experiece left a 'bad taste' and I will NEVER go through them again.

I have followed Texas Direct Auto for the past 4 years, even drove out to there location in a old warehouse in south texas. Was I shocked to see what a customer would think after purchasing a vehicle online and driving up here to pick it up. It would have made my heart fall right out of my body, I would have thought I had gotten taken. There were around a 1000 vehicles parked in mud holes, what a sight to see. I could not understand how they were selling so many vehicles. But they were not selling to the drive by customers so in order to keep the cost down this is where they landed. Everyone wants to save money, but the old saying is still true today YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The reason they can sell cheaper than other dealers is sure volume. I'm sure they loose money on 30% or more of which they sell. But they make it up in numbers so they may have issues now because of there growth. In time corp. america will take over and we will all be purchasing online.

Texas Direct Auto bad business

I am not an unrealistic person, I realize buying a used car does not come with the assurance of a quality product that you get (or are supposed to get) with a new car. I open by saying this because I know some people expect the world when they make a purchase and regardless of what the item is, that is rarely the case. In this case the "item" was a 2006 Land Rover LR3.

I first was connected with Texas Direct Auto via a friend that told me they bought used vehicles, much like CarMax. (they give you a quote and will buy your car regardless of what you buy from them) At the time I was trying to unload my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and get a 4X4 instead. I made an appointment and went in to get a quote. While I was there, I browsed their inventory for something that would suite my needs for my next vehicle. Now while I was there, it was extremely crowded and I include this only as a description of my experience but not so much as a complaint. Although it is not my preference to be in an establishment that is overrun with patrons, you can't fault a business for its success and i took it as a positive sign at the time. After some time an employee called me to the front desk and produced my quote. All in all, i thought i was pretty fair and they were willing to give me an additional discount if i chose to buy something from them. As it turned out i did find a couple vehicles that i thought might work for my situation so i asked to speak with a sales person.

Lui was my salesman and overall he seemed like a quality guy. He walked the lot with my wife and i, showing us several vehicles that we had chosen. (No high pressure sales and an over-all pleasant guy) After a couple test drives we decided on a Land Rover LR3. After our decision was made, we did some negotiating and settled on a price. At that point we were handed off to Calvin for the financing portion of the purchase. Again, Calvin seemed like a good dude and our dealings with him were pleasant overall. Of course there was all sorts of paperwork including an "as is sale agreement" which although wasn’t my favorite, I understood it's function. We left that day with our new purchase and felt good about the whole situation.

Over the next week, as we got to "know" the Land Rover better, there were little issues that popped up but nothing beyond reason. (the windshield wipers needed to be replaced BADLY, the left turn signal was burned out, etc) Again, i chalked these things up to "buying a used car" and considered them "the cost of doing business" when it came to used vehicles. After this week was up, i received an email from Calvin (the finance guy) that simply said, "there was a problem with your paper work, we need you to come in and sign some additional forms". Obviously concerned, i called Calvin directly. After a little dancing around i come to find out that they had charged us the wrong price in the paper work... and what's worse (for them), they had charged us $3000 dollars TOO LITTLE! This put them in quite a pickle because legally, we had all signed all the right paperwork so if we so desired, my wife and i could just tell them to get bent and walk away a couple thousand dollars richer. Although slightly humorous, after some discussion my wife and i decided to do "the right thing" because, after all, we had verbally agreed to the higher price. We went in and over Calvin's many, MANY apologies, we signed the right paper work and were on our way.

Fast forward another week; the Land Rover is still meeting our expectations and the world is right. I am out of town on business and my wife is driving the car when suddenly the brake pad sensor lights up the dash. Again, at this point in the game i am still of the mindset that the brake pads are something that are going to be "used" on a used car and it's just bad luck that they would need to be replaced right after we bought the car. I have my wife take the car into a Midas brake shop to complete the repairs. After some inspection the mechanic comes back and informs my wife that the front brake pads do indeed need to be replaced... HOWEVER, the back brake pads are so far gone that the back breaks are totally non-fictional. It's beyond metal on metal; the rotors, pads and housing must all be replaced. Hoping against the worst, i have my wife take the car to a couple other shops to confirm; all agree, the total damage is around $1200!

Now, this is no longer "the cost of doing business", this is a non-working key component of a motor vehicle. (like the wheels or engine). Hoping for a positive outcome, i take the itemized bill along with the three additional quotes to Texas Direct Auto and ask to speak with my sales person. I figured with our situation, ESPECIALLY given the fact that we came in and made right with the paperwork fiasco, certainly they would be reasonable about this small issue. After a short (but pleasant) talk with Lui, he passed me on to Pat Tucker, the customer satisfaction manager. (the fact that they have a "customer satisfaction MANAGER" should have been my first sign of trouble) At this point i am still pretty level headed about the whole thing, I explain to Pat what has happened and hand over the various paperwork i brought in. He informs me that he will take this information to the "powers that be" and will get back to me in a couple days.

A couple days later i receive a call from Pat; he says that "he really went to bat for me" but unfortunately they are a vehicle whole-saler and would not be able to compensate us on our claim". ... at this point, i lose it. I don't often curse but i let Pat have it pretty good. I'm not going to go into what was said but it was not pleasant. After my outburst and recount of our expericne, Pat tells me that he was unaware about our paperwork foul-up and he wished he would have known that before going into speak about our claim. This angers me even more and I "kindly" ask why it is that I would need to tell him every detail of my experience, shouldn't a HUGE foul-up like that be the first thing that comes to mind when he spoke with my sales person about my situation? (i assume he never spoke to my sales person but that's irrelevant at this point i suppose) Either way, he says now that he has this "new information" he would go back to the "powers-that-be" and see what he could do.

Today, i heard from Pat again; They have decided to pay for $280 of our $1200 repair cost. Obviously this doesn't please me but at this point I’m kind of over being mad. I am saddened by the fact that this didn't work out better. In my situation, from one week to the next LITERALLY the roles were reversed in regards to who had the upper hand financially. I could have very easily screwed Texas Direct Auto out of $3000 but decided not to because i knew it wasn't right. Less than a week later, Texas Direct Auto had the opportunity to screw me out of $1200 and fortunately they also decided not to take full advantage... instead they only screwed me out of $920.

Maybe everyone should know that when buying a used vehicle they should spend $100 and have it inspected by a reliable mechanic. Don't we know that buying a used vehicle is "as is" with no waranty. So what would make a dealer spend money inspecting a vehicle for sale?

While the initial transaction went off well, you were pretty much an idiot for going back to let them charge you more money. This is a common tactic used by dealerships who want you to get accustomed to the vehicle and do nearly anything to keep possession of it. Seems like it worked for them in your case. What a sucker.

You bought a Land Rover! Texas Direct Auto isn't the problem... It is the hunk of junk you bought! TRUST ME, there will be plenty more repairs where that one came from! You should have bought American or Asian! Trade it in as soon as possible and be prepared to take an ### whooping! Land Rover dealers don't even want them out of warranty. Make sure you have AAA because you will need tham a lot! But I bet you look cool!

OMG! Dlease..what were you thinking...I guarantee, they were laughing at you when you agreed to come back..

That loss was on them..They wouldn't hesitate to stick it to you if the roles were reversed. You were a stand up guy to do that, but I would never have done it.
