How responsive is TD Auto Finance's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how TD Auto Finance handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with TD Auto Finance and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

TD Auto Finance Title Release

I paid my loan off in full 2 months ago. I paid 49k off in under a year. I reported my new address when I paid it off, yet they mailed my title to my old address. I never received it and TD told me it was on the way. One representative actually lied telling me they sent the title and I would need to go to my local DMV to request a duplicate. I waited in line 4 hours only to be told that all companies know that only the registered owner --TD AUTO finance, can request a duplicate.
I called back and got wrong information several times such as no TD auto finance can not re-send me the title, before finally someone said they can in fact mail it to my new address.
I believe if I failed to pay my loan for 2 months TD would charge me fees and probably repossess my vehicle. There are no consequences for them failing to provide a legal, time sensitive document? There should be. I am reporting them to the better business bureau. They nearly cost me late fees with DMV due to my registration expiring. Terribly dishonest and I will let all my colleagues know how irresponsible this company is.

TD Auto Finance title

I paid off my car on June 30th. They said I would have my title in 7-10 days. It is now the 13th and customer service representatives keep giving me different answers and excuses. Supervisor is blaming it on slow mail. Says it was mailed out on the 7th from Ohio. 6 days from Ohio to Nevada? This is ridiculous. Shady company with employees eager to provide bogus answers and no solutions.
DON'T EVER USE THEM!

TD Auto Finance billing - never updated, pretend they don't receive checks

I always had a fishy feeling about this company because upon checking my statements, it seems that the balance was never correct. It was always higher than what I anticipated after making a larger payment.

I remembered also that I had removed gap insurance from my loan via my car dealer at the very beginning of my financing through TD. The car dealership (keyes hyundai) was handling the matter and informed me that a check had been sent to TD Auto for the gap insurance cancellation 2 years ago, May 2016.

Recently, because the billing seems so off and there's no way to actually review the balances - they send summaries only per request and you cannot actually see previous payments in your summary which is so so so odd. I looked over it and came to find out that these people had never removed gap insurance (almost $800) from my payoff quote/financing, though they did collect the check.

I tried communicating with them about what is going on and got a runaround. Instead of writing me back, they insisted on a phone call (so there /d be nothing in writing. I insisted that they email me back via their messenger system in the wacky website, and someone finally did and they now pretend that my balance will be updated, only because i called them out on this scam.

Mind you had I not noticed the discrepancy, they would have pretended that they never got the gap insurance cancellation, and they would have happily billed me for it.

I am warning any customer dealing them them. I will be going over all my payments submitted to them, and calculating all the payments I made to them because I have a feeling they scam people and they never update the correct balance.

TD Auto Finance customer service

To whom this may concern,
April 3, 2018

Yesterday I had made a phone call to the customer service department with TD auto at 1130 am Eastern Time. We had received a letter in the mail on Saturday March 31, 2018 stating our account was over 30 days past due. I called on Monday to review what had happened as we did not catch the mistake, the team member answered and was rude from the start.. I asked her to explain what happened which she had. I asked her several times what our options were to get this cleared up. Instead she made comments such as "well your husband just got paid why can he contribute to this bill" and lack of budgeting. I as best as I could as this point once again explained to her that, we just PCSd being military a couple months ago and life happened we must have made a mistake… and here I am calling instead of avoiding trying it to get resolved. I explained to her I can make a payment on the 13th and asked about the SCRA and what the stipulations were for this as every company is different, instead she told me on how this won't get me out of my obligations and throughout the conversation she is talking about repossession and so on. So inappropriate what repossession? We have made payments every month and have not avoided anyone and I am calling now to make some sort of conclusion but her refusal to communicate with me like a customer service rep for a bank should. Instead she belittled me and told me that she could not speak with me based on not being a primary account holder. WE have had this loan for three years and I have called many times along with being a registered owner and insurance holder on this vehicle and have made many changes…. She then proceeded to tell me how this loan was based on my spouses income only, and this should be no issue to fix the problem…. Not my income. I once again told her life happens, we are owning it and attempting to resolve it but instead she keeps stating that my car can be put up for repossession. I asked several times on where this document is, as the 13th is in 10 days and the payment will be made, she instead stated how my address isn't updated which I did so and we are emailed all documents and I am looking at the documents as we speak and there is nothing stating I OWE 200 right this second or my car can be up for repossession…. In ten days… kind of drastic, and then made the excuse of well its state dependent… um okay. I finally got fed up and requested contact with a supervisor which was then placed on a three way call, and the team member is telling her supervisor that she told me that "my husband has to call in and update the address then we can talk to her", trying to avoid my complaint, I finally was yelling into the phone stating how dare you, you know that is the first thing I did 40 minutes ago when we started this conversation. Finally the supervisor gets on the line, and I let her in a dose of this 40 min conversation I had with this team member, she asked she threatened repossession, you know ill talk to her and we can pull the record of this conversation. I said yes go for it, and yes she did state that if I do not pay right now and wait till the 13th my car will be out for repossession but this is no documents stating this. The team member was still on the call and started laughing; I lost my temper at this point. And asked the supervisor If she thought this was appropriate here I am on my lunch break at work, trying to have a conversation for a resolution and make a payment for the 13th and here she is laughing and you guys think this is okay. Instead she avoided it and said well mam you're on your lunch break we need to get this resolved, okay lets avoid it some more and think that this was okay. FINALLY she decided to tell me all that was owed. I told her set it up for the 13th it will be paid then that's ALL I am trying to do that is IT. She explained that the deferment option wasn't open till July, that's fine, she processed all the information and took the payment posted for the 13th, and I asked her for the SCRA information she placed me on hold and never got back to me. That's amazing business you guys.

I would say this would go somewhere and you all would reach out to us, being a good actual customer for three years, and holding our grounds and commitment and always communicating if there is an issue. But you guys have no respect for military and so much any customer as I have read on BBB, and many other sites.

TD Auto Finance payoff and refund

TD Auto Finance is a nightmare. My vehicle was stolen and I continued to make payments as usual from Setempter 2017 on. my vehicle was fully paid off in January, however I have not received the overpayment and it is now March 6, 2018. It has been clear the account has been paid off since they closed it. I have been told 30 days for a refund processing, now I have been told they need approval from my GAP carrier to refund me. Customer service is poor and lack knowledge. I have now contacted the Federal Reserve regarding they practice of holding consumer money for no reason.

TD Auto Finance td auto finance

I've been having multiple concerns with this company. TD auto finance lacks compassionate and attentive customer service agents.
They created multiple mistakes on my account and charged hundreds in late fees.
I enrolled in auto drafted monthly payments, for the past 6-7 months I had nearly $1000 removed 1st week of the month. As an consumer, I was doing my part and thought I was paying on time each month. Few months later, I realized they submitted a payment to the principal instead of the monthly payment; causing each monthly payment after late.
When I would check online my statements, neVer, did I see a late payment fee. I was never contacted by mail nor phone of my "multiple" late payments. But every month, TD AUTO bank would auto draft about $1000 on time.I would had never known until recently I called to make a phone payment. During the conversation with the customer service agent, she stated I had about $300 in late payments and was extremely impolite.
I asked for a supervisor and she hung up.
I called back and was told it would be taken care of.Three days later, I noticed TD auto bank drafted ANother payment from my bank.
Upset, I called customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor. Female on the line deny my request and said supervisor can't help me.

Overall, she said it was my fault for not noticing my account and late fees can't be removed. My credit score is ruined thanks to this company.

It's unbelievable that these banks exists and the customer service agents that are brutal and heartless without empathy to try to help.

This company does not care. They are money hungry, charge excessive late fees without noting them as that. They donot attenpt to contact you if you are "late", instead they leech on to adding up these fees.

This is TD Auto finance wrong doing, I did my part as an consumer and respectfully paid each month the amount I agreed to for a year, to this date.
This bank ruined my credit score, robbed me in payments, and fees. Mistreated and lied to me through their employees. Employees who wrongfully wrote incorrect notes on my account and misleading falsely what I had said in previous conversations.

Please do not do Buisness with this bank. Share my story. I am not the only one with the same concerns. Do your research and stay away from this unlawfully bank.

TD Auto Finance requests and fees not getting waived when told so

I've had the worst experience with this company when never before I've had any problem with any other company. I've called like at least 5 times getting told different things and always lying when supposedly I was supposed to get a fee waived and at the end they told me they weren't going to waive it cuz I wasn't told so, when actually I was told so. So I told them to review the phone call and they would give me a call back and never did so I called them asking why haven't they called me, to get an answer that the person I talk to didn't even send a request to review the phone call, so the general manager spoke to me and told me they would review my call that same day and would call me back that same day and nothing. This company just sucks in general I've been getting fees for everything when supposedly everything was taken care of and didn't even mention I would get charged for Something they cancelled

TD Auto Finance auto loan

Not only did they repo my vehicle because they didn't credit my account, I still have almost $1800 of payments that my bank had sent, yet they have not credited my account. My vehicle is currently being stored at another location so I don't wake up to it being repossessed again in the middle of the night.
The customer service is run by the most incompetent people ever - they are either unable to answer questions, transfer you to someone who can or disconnects the call. Do not get a loan through this company ever!

TD Auto Finance car loan through dealership on a brand new car

Since getting the vehicle back on sept 28th, 2017, can anyone explain to me why there is no record of my having a loan, nor do the vehicle or myself exist in this company customer records? I've reached out to the dealership, and they keep confirming that td auto finance with a p.o. box in sacramento, ca is with whom my loan is through. Well, it'll be going on three weeks and still they have no record of my existence! My 1st car note is due in nov 2017, and can't make a payment until I show up in their system. This is crazy! I never had any problems dealing with gm financial... But this new company td auto finance, after reading several bad reviews about this company, I now have to question the dealership as to why they would even submit me to this company knowing they repo vehicles even when monthly payments are being made. You can never get through to speak with someone, and if you do, their so clueless. No information on your account, and to keep waiting a few more weeks before it'll show up. Same lame excuse every time, and yet my info never appears.

TD Auto Finance customer service

I am trying to get a hold of anyone working at this joke of a business, but they do not answer their phones. When I contact them over their secure message system on their website (which is the only option, as the main number only has an automated voice service) they always send an automatic reply asking me to call [protected].
When I call that number, I get a recorded message always saying all representatives are busy, leave your name and number and you will be called back. Except, they never return the calls. I have send numerous e-mails, sent letters, faxed letters, left voice mails etc. And after one month's of attempts still have been unable to get a hold of anyone.
I have now given up and today I filed a complaint with the better business bureau of south carolina. I advice anyone to stay away from this horrible business td auto finance as its customer service is non-existent.

TD Auto Finance auto loan

I traded in a car financed with td auto finance. The dealer I traded it to paid the vehicle off. I contacted td to stop auto payments so I would not be charged for my next payment. They took my payment and the day after applied the payoff the next day. Now they want me to wait for a refund for 21 day "because that is their policy". These people suck.

TD Auto Finance releasing liens

I paid off my vehicle one week ago today. However, I still am unable to receive my title in any possible way, until you take your 7-10 business days to release my lien. This is absolutely absurd. Any other company I could pay it off and receive my title the same day in hand. I will assure you I will never be getting another loan from your company, and I will also be telling anyone I meet to do the same and steer clear. I now cannot sell my vehicle until you decide to allow me the title. Again, this should really be looked into. You need to have a way to speed up the process if need be. There needs to be an option for consumers. Customer service should always be a priority for companies but is looked over in this case.

TD Auto Finance loan closed but trying to collect

You quoted myself and the dealer a pay off that we both questioned you on. We got the payoff in writing to both myself and the dealer. You surrendered the title and sent me a letter that the loan was closed and satisfied. Two months later you sent me a statement of 0.00 due with pay off amount after the loan was closed by you in writing. You kept sending 0.00 due stem wants until last June. Then you wanted payments. I talked to your representatives several times with no results. The dealer talked to your regional representative and he said they had screwed up and were wrong. My lawyer sent you a letter to stop under the consumer protection act as you had closed the loan and surrendered the title. You have now charged it off against my credit to which I will be forced to sue you in court. I did not screw this up your loan people did by mis applying funds. They admitted they did do. No one has attempted to settle your screw up only try to defend your wrong. I have not avoided you but returned your calls and even called you numerous times. You even sent a repossession company out to repo a non existent car that you surrendered the title on and closed the loan on. I need to hear from someone other than people trying to cover their tracks for the mistakes they made. Sincerely Scott Finney

TD Auto Finance customer service

Friday, February 3rd, 2017 TD Auto Finance ordered my car reposed for non-payment. The tow truck sneaked in and took my car at 1:00 AM on Saturday Feb 4th. As you know everything is closed for the weekend which is very convenient to TD and to the company that will be charging storage fees.

Since I always pay TD through my Chase bank account, I visited the local branch and they gave me a print out which shows all the payments processed ON TIME.

Monday February 6th, 2017 8:00 AM tried contacting TD´s Costumer Service and after waiting 2 hours and 23 minutes an agent came on the line. I explained the situation and she said I had to talk to the proper department that handles repos. She said the number to call is [protected] and she transferred me there. Since 11:10 AM I have been holding on that line and all I hear is a message saying that "they are sorry for the long wait but all representatives are busy in other calls."

While waiting on the telephone I went on line to check for an email address for TD Auto Finance but there is none. They did show 2 FAX numbers for Customer Service so I wrote a brief letter explaining the situation and faxed it together with my bank´s print outs showing the payments to BOTH FAX numbers.

It is now 3:37 PM and I´m still on hold. I have confirmations that the faxes went through without a hitch. Not a word from anybody at TD.

TD Auto Finance bad service

Had TD auto Finance, I traded in the car for a new one near the time the payment was due so I made another payment so as not to affect my credit. I made the payment on Nov 11th online. It cleared my bank on the 13th. TD received the payoff on the 25th. On December 3rd, I received a letter from TD stating that they had released the lien and sent the title to the payer. I called to ask when my refund would be sent out. I was told it would 21 to 30 days. I explained that I made payments electronically & it had already cleared my bank. She said she didn't care, we have a process, 21 to 30 days. They want your payments on time but will sit on your money as long as possible.

TD Auto Finance phone harassment

Sold the vehicle 1 week ago, called TD auto told them about sale & check for PIF has been mailed to them, now the monthly payment is 5 days late. This is the first time this account has EVER been late!
My caller Id at home number showed on a Saturday that they called 10 times between 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and then they called again 8:59 p.m. (I was out of town so I did not pick up phone).
I called them back on my lunch hour to ask what the deal is and they want me to make a payment today!
I assured them PIF is on the way, they are rude and won't let you get a word in!
DON"T EVER GET A LOAN WITH TD AUTO FINANCE- I am glad I am done with these people!

TD Auto Finance false attempt to repo

On january 21 2012 A bailiff showed up at my home to repo my 2008 dodge ram, the bailiff gave me until january 23 2012 to pay the outstanding balance on the truck. When I contacted TD Autofinance on the 23rd to notify them of the payment the man I spoke to(Corey)said that they had been trying to contact me but had no current information to call me.This is a lie because i received a phone call on january 16th from them. Corey then stated that they had issued me a repossession letter stating that unless i responded by a certain date they were going to take the vehicle, I told him that I had not received any such letter and if I had I would have contacted them to make a payment arrangement, we have been paying on this vehicle for over 40 months at $1000.00 a month, I certainly would not be willing to throw that away. Plus I have received a statement every month from TD auto finance at this address for the past 11months, all statements stopped in november, I have also received calls at my current phone number since september of 2011.All calls stopped in november of 2011.On january23rd I asked Corey to send me a copy of the repossession letter that he said was sent to me plus a statement of the 350.00 extra dollars I paid to pay the cost of the bailiff, he said he would issue it immediately, as of today february 11th I still have not received any of these letters but I have received on february 6th a statement from january 11th 2012. On february 8th I contacted TD auto finance again asking if and when Corey was sending me these items and was told that if there was any problem sending these to me they would call me back. I would also like to state that I was only 2 payments behind and only 1 of them was past 30 days overdue. When I spoke with Corey he treated me like a criminal telling me that he wanted my license plate number and my insurance policy number so that he could check to make sure it was valid or he was taking the truck anyways. He also stated that if we were ever late again by even a day he was just going to repo the truck without any warning. I think that the behavior and tactics used by this company are despicable, and disgusting, to treat customers this way is appalling and uncalled for.

I got behind on my payments and they had some guy call my grandmother's house and tell her they thought the car was there and that they knew her address. Scaring old ladies seems to be one of their methods. When I called them about it, they claimed that they use a 3rd party and that the methods were not part of their policy. I have been working with them to catch up on payments. I come up with $400 which is a month payment. They won't let me pay partial payments. I call them to pay the 400 in order to start catching up and they tell me I will be charged $12.95 to pay over the phone. I cannot use their website because you cannot adjust the oustanding amount. I have been paying for 48 months and have 24 to go. Now that my vehicle has more value than i owe, I feel like they would rather repo it and sell it for a profit. Shady people. PS i financed with Chrysler Financial, but they sold out to TD auto. I had no say.

TD Auto Finance ilegal repo by td finace

We purchased a Chrysler product n 2008 . At the time our credit was in high 750 range so we recived a 0interest loan form Chrysler finance. IN 2010 we had no option but to file a Bankruptcy. We kept the car and kept paying the note ontime. From that point on we never recived an invice. We called and was told to just keep paying but no invices would go out. Just tonight on Demecber 26th a tow truck showed up to reposes the car. We were threatned and told the police were called. I told them I wanted to se the court order. All the had was a repossesion notice from T&D finace who we had no idea who they were. I showed them that all my financeing was from Chrylser. I even showed them the registration showng Chrylser as the lein holder. We never recived any notice as required in Washingt state or anything. To make matter worse we have paid and paid to Chysler. I just google the buy out of Chrysler by this non-american bank. They are dead wrong I will fight them in court. any body scwred by this non-american cokmapny should fight and demand to see all paper work according to state law. Again we have been paying to Chrysler everymonth and now a company named TD fnace is trying to repo our car. I reviewed our contract and there is no reassigment clause period. Time to contact the attorny general of the astate of Washington.

TD Auto Finance - incompetence

Behind 1 payment, called them to let them know I made a payment. Idiot representative at first could not speak English, they transferred me to someone I could understand and she could not find my account, told me not to worry, just call back Monday to be sure it was processed. Long story short, they sent a repo guy to get my car Saturday at 9 pm. Seriously...
