TD Ameritrade Customer Service phone and online services.

I used to hop in my car, drive a couple of miles and talk to Michael. Life was good.
Then they closed the office.
The next closest office was a 50 minute drive. But I could call them on the phone and in seconds talk to someone at that office. Life was OK.
Then they closed the office.
I now sit on the phone hearing "We are experiencing longer than normal wait times. The current wait time is 60 minutes."
I can't type in my account number, the phone system rejects it.
I can't get the answer to my question online. I've searched for hours.
My phone has been on hold for almost 70 minutes as I type this.
This is NOT what I signed up for. In the mean time I am losing time, money and patience. At my age, all are precious.

Desired outcome: Fix your problems

TD Ameritrade They claim fraud and locked my account

Logged in to Ameritrade and had received approx 4000 thru bank transfer.

In process of transferring to an external bank account and was not able to register account. Closed website and was not able to log in again called customer serviced [protected] answer after 1 hour. Told me account locked due to possible fraud and they would get in touch with me to verify my account. They said fraud dept will call. They have not called back. That's about 7 hours since I talked to customer service.

Desired outcome: no outcome they haven't called back

Exactly, difficult to reach office of the president, wouldn't even accept my email -- had to go through "secure" means. Hello? I am writing you for the $75 back you conned out of me by blocking access to the account. I already tried their "secure" message center. They're really screwed up.

TD Ameritrade is full of crap! On January 1 2022 i opened a online account with this company thinking about stocks for my kids benefit. Janu 2 I sold a bed set to a elder woman and was paid by check , check was written by her to me for 3000.00 dollars I

take and deposit check iinto my Ameritrade account by mobile check deposit two days later my account was closed and i could not log in to my online account I call the 800 TD Ameritrade number and was told account had been closed due to suspicion of fraud WTF. ! I was told that they placed a hold on funds and my account was closed but that they could not tell me any more. So since they closed my account I assume that they would give me my funds back ,right ? Wrong ! they inform me that there was a 60 day hold on funds due to fraud. Now 60 days has came and went and the funds are still restricted and no one knows why. I think this company is [censored] and they rip folks off.

TD Ameritrade Customer support

I moved over $2M in assets from Stifel Nicolas (a full service broker) to TD Ameritrade in Dec 2020 (split into several accounts for my children, parents, IRAs, beneficial accounts, etc). When I was investigating which company to select, I called customer service to get a sense how long it would be to get a person on the phone when needed. (I originally selected Fidelity, but decided to go with TD instead because of the hold times at Fidelity).

In the short two months that I have been with TD, I have almost never been able to get help by calling the customer service line. I am now with "Preferred Client Services" and my wait times are still over an hour (usually 1.5 hours).

And it's not just phone support that is a problem. We recently set up an IRA for my son, and have been trying to fund it from an existing TD Ameritrade account (his UTMA account). We sent the form to TD over a week ago and the transfer still hasn't occurred (Don't try to do this on April 14th!). I emailed with someone in the local branch, and I was told it could take over 10 days for the transfer to complete - he even added "it is what it is".

Moving a dozen accounts is no fun, it is a lot of paperwork to get the accounts set up with trading authorizations, beneficiaries, etc. But I may have to go through it again, this just isn't sustainable.

I get that we are no longer at a full service broker, and we are saving about $15, 000/year as a result, nonetheless, this level of support is sub par and is not tenable.

TD Ameritrade ira custodial servoces

TD Ameritrade failed to notify me I could return my IRA withdrawal between late June and August 31st causing me to have to pay taxes on my February 2020 withdrawal. As an 80 year I was expecting a timely notification of the legislation passed in mid 2020.

TD Ameritrade Closing husband's account

My husband David Green held an IRA account with Ameritrade. On his death I became the sole Beneficiary. I could not continue with the account since I live in France. I was told I had to close the account. The account was closed but 30 percent was withheld for American tax purposes.
I have written twice to the Withholding Agent in Omaha. Once a registered letter. I asked for an explanation of such a high withholding to have received NO REPLY. The first letter was sent on the 4th September 2020.
I would like some explanation of why I have received no answer to my question.
My name is Beryl Green and the account number is [protected].
I believe you will find all my correspondence on file.

I am 75 years and not computer minded! My children and grand children who could help forward things via computer are living in other countries and they are unable to visit me due to the coronavirus.
I would just like a simple answer to the tax question and is there any way I can reclaim it. I pay taxes in France.

TD Ameritrade Customer service

I'm disabled and have special needs and am elderly. They refused me a one on one tutorial to set up TOS even after a 6 month wait on my part! This was an awful experience of many many slap downs! They are very harsh and make unilateral decisions as if they can boss me around!

TD Ameritrade Stock rip off

Ameritrade sold off my stocks. They claim I had them on margins. Yet, I did not think so nor did I agree to this knowingly. It was through the Internet. I contacted them. They offered no reasons for this. They admit never calling or e mailing me to warn me. I guess they sold off these valuable stocks when the market tanked on 3/16/20. To me it's highway robbery.

TD Ameritrade Unable to contact phone support

It has is nearly impossible to get through to TD Ameritrade customer service. Even before Corona Virus, the hold times were excessive, and often after 1-2 hours still no answer.

The (former Scottrade) local offices are currently closed and it doesn't matter anyway because once TD Ameritrade bought them all calls automatically get routed to the 800 line. I wish TD Ameritrade would place more importance on providing phone support.

TD Ameritrade Illegal emails - harassment

I had a closed account with Scott Trade, when they were taken over by Ameritrade I started receiving email even though I didn't have an active account. Over the past three years I have asked them several times to stop sending me emails. So far they have refused each time offering a different reason why.
I do not have any activity with them and due to their constant harassment I never will.
Is there legal action I can take to get them to stop? Other reputable companies usually stop once they are notified.

TD Ameritrade Options

I was hung up on by an advisor at 10:06a today. He immediately summed me up as an idiot and before I completed my question he interrupted & told me to go get a class first. I was having an issue about where to see if I am selling to open or close. I understood the basic definition was but did not realize where to access it on the screen. He interrupted me and told me to trade by simulation which is what I plan to do. His voice became imperialist as he interrupted me and began talking about something that I was not requesting. When I told him that I understood the basic information, he hung up. This is my issue, I am being tutored by someone who has traded many years and has made good money in the last years (8-9 years). I forgot to ask this question so since she recommended your service because of the "excellent" technical support, I came on. I have some trading history but not options. I am a neophyte. My mento has an easy way to simplify the process b/c I know how to review stocks and can stand on my own about the logic. I am, however, not astute on managing new software. He would not allow me to ask the one question I needed. I chose the first title that related to customer support.

TD Ameritrade Trade account liquid money market 44407052

I've had account 12 years plus. Converted from Scottrade. I had a Ohio state lottery win &7, 000.

With the market down I deposited into the investment account. Great time to turn a few thousand into?!

I figured pay mortgage pay a few small bills take out a few hundred and invest.

I waited for available to withdraw to show in account requested check to myself, electronic mortgage payment, paid a few small bills in same name as in the account... they closed account for fraud. I called customer service they won't speak to me.

They say wait for a letter and...

I could have deposited somewhere else. Why not just hold the check longer? Closed for fraud investigation. My 401k is held with them. $130-$140k in there. No phone call,

I think the fraud is their banking policy.

E Irby

TD Ameritrade I got switched to Ameritrade when they took over Scottrade. I cannot get into my account, they do not answer their phone!! Its crazy!!

I had tofind out how to get onto Ameritrade after they took over Scottrade. The user id they gave me does not work or my security answer. They say to call but do not answer their phone. i needed to make some stock trades and cannot. Theys hould be sued. Now i have to try Etrade until they buy them out. Then I will just do it over the phone i guess. Ameritrade should not be in business . They are a poorly serviced company obviously. To be in this business and be unreacheable is a huge mistake. They obviously have their priorities messed up. I hope whoever runs this business gets fired along with whoever hired him. I definately wouldnt buy Ameritrade stock.

Customer service is definitely in their "DNA". "DNA" stands for DO NOT Answer. I called yesterday customer service and waited for (2) two hours no answer. I had to hang up due to the need for sleep.
I am currently on hold, 1 hour 45 minutes, what kind of organization conducts themselves in such a way? It is 2020, how about * enter your number and a customer representative will call you back asap. If you click the link on this site for help, they want monthly subscription

TD Ameritrade Morgan stanley mutual fund cpoax

I purchased cpoax, spending $xxxx and getting xxxxx shares on 11/06/18. the buy
Occurred thru my online brokerage account at td ameritrade, on the td ameritrade website. this buy was in my brokerage account. I learned on oct. 19, 2019, when I was reviewing my unrealized gain/loss data posted on the td ameritrade site for my cpoax asset, that i
Incurred a much higher cost per share for my buy than the price cpoax shares closed at, $38.41, on 11/6/18. this was shocking and upsetting.
My learning the reason for this price variation of $1.60 per share took me numerous calls to td
Ameritrade. the first several people I spoke with had no idea how my cpoax asset that closed at $38.41 on my buy date, but I was charged $40.01 per share for the shares I bought, had
Occurred. finally, I was referred to the mutual fund dept and they figured this out, that this buy
Involved a 4% load fee.
I have been investing since I was in my 20s and have invested for many years. I have never ever considered
Or purchased a mf with any load fee and never would. I read all the information available to me on
The buy screen and all other screens on td ameritrade's website that gave info for this asset
Before I bought it.in the first week of nov. 2018 I also called td ameritrade @ 800 669
3900 to specifically ask if there were any fees incurred to make the cpoax buy. I was advised there were no fees to purchase cpoax. but I have been charged a load fee. due to this 4% load fee
This load fee was pocketed by td ameritrade so they have a significant financial incentive to not disclose load fees. td ameritrade is a firm to be avoided. sr management lies and their website asset pages are missing critical information and are deceptive in many ways.

TD Ameritrade retail trading

High level executives lie a lot. Colleen rogers is the lowest form of life i've ever interfaced with unreal that anyone decided she could speak to customers, when she talks to you you believe she is 99% pit bull they do not disclose fees and you only learn them after the buy. They are spineless and total scumbags. Do not put a dime into their hands as u will regret it. Phil carava listened to all the facts regarding my undisclosed fee and told me td ameritrade didn't get the load fee. Lie, the fund creator told me td ameritrade absolutely did get the entire load fee. They have numerous predatory business practices shared by former customers all over the internet.

TD Ameritrade brenda in estates department / telephone customer service

Let me start by saying; Whenever I have called Scottrade / Ameritrade I have always enjoyed speaking with Customer Service employees. They have been, both, informative and kind. Today this record came to a dismaying halt. I called the Estate Department a few minutes ago (2:00 on July 10, 2019) and spoke to Brenda about my 103 year old Great Aunt who passed away and left one of her Scottrade/ Ameritrade accounts to my children to divide. Besides never saying, " I'm sorry for your loss; she was EXTREMELY ill-mannered and condescending. I started by saying I had several questions about my account and hope she had some time. There was no response and after a long pause as I was about to say, "hello?" she snapped at me, "who am I speaking to!" I told her who I was and she either refused to answer my questions, answered anything but my question or repeated my question back as her belittling answer. I learned nothing from Brenda except that the TOD form doesn't say descendent but, rather, decedent. I am partially dyslexic. I did get her to say she would mail me more forms because, even though she didn't answer me when I asked, I assumed I needed one for each beneficiary. I had only been sent 1 set. I do hope this conversation was recorded and you have an opportunity to review it. My family has a GREAT DEAL of money with you. If this had been my first experience with Ameritrade it definitely would have been my last. In a department as sensitive as dealing with estates, one does NOT want or expect to be dealing with a supercilious phone rep. I do hope I receive all of the proper forms after all of this unpleasantness. I also intend to talk with my family to see if they have recently experienced anything similar at Ameritrade. As you know; we choose where we put our money and customer service is our very first impression when doing so. Constance Stanton
