Synchrony Bank old navy credit card

I opened a synchrony bank old navy card October 2018..I never missed any monthly payments. I never went over my spending limit. I was so proud to pay my card off, so I can use it for the upcoming holidays. To find out they closed my account, The sneaky, unprofessionalism of this company is out right disrespectful I never felt so belittled over a 300 credit limit, I feel like a peasant. My credit was in the same condition it was in prior to applying, actually its better now. The nerve of this bank to give you a chance, and then turn around and drop you like a bad habit. I Would like my account Re-opened and an apology for pre judging people based on there passed behaviors.

Extremely Disappointed :(

Synchrony Bank customer service

I always have issues with the payment system. I always have to speak with someone to run the payment. My payment was due on a Saturday and when I tried to make the payment, it wouldn't accept my routing number, it transferred me to a person but they were closed. I called again Sunday and it took my payment no problems. I see there is a $30 late fee but I pay it anyway. I call when they are open to talk to a supervisor about my issues and see if we can set up a different payment option since they have been telling me online payments will be available for more than 3 years. I get a supervisor named Savannah and wow! Instead of a respectful conversation with options or understanding, I got talked down to and got to hear her opinion on how my practice on making payments is not smart. I should not wait till it's due, I should send a check way before it's due (mind you, I have been late twice in 3 & a half years). I call back 3 times because I was told by a Mimi that there was another supervisor available by the name of John and each time I'm transferred back to Savannah. I ask her for a different supervisor or her manager and she informed me she was the only one and sent me to a voicemail. I never asked for my late fee to be removed but I was treated as such. So unprofessional! I called for help and I get belittled! Never again will I use this company for any loans. Paying off my care credit also and cutting it up asap.

Synchrony Bank lowes credit card issued by synchrony bank

Paid off current purchases on credit card only to find out "computer" added the amounts back in and took off deferred payments for next year, then added interest in on an account that was paid off. No one can help. Several agents on the phone said they will forward the complaint. Forward to whom. No phone numbers or names to contact and follow up. Is this a scam to collect interest on already paid off purchases? How does the computer over ride people? When you allocate your payment on the web site it never goes to the correct bill. According to their website the current, non promotional charges come off first, then the next promotional charges until all are paid, but that's not what's happening. Looking for someone to suggest a way to get them to fix it.

Synchrony Bank bp visa credit card

Attempted to advise of travel plans for the next 3 months, including 2 trips in October to Florida. Additional trips to Florida after purchasing a vacation condo. The customer service reps were unable to add a second address or add travle plans beyond 30 days. meaning each time when traveling to our vaction home they must be nofified. This inclues extended stays.
Exxon/Mobil and Gulf were much more accomidating and added a second address and several months. When ever possible I will use those other cards. Gladly giving them my business.

Synchrony Bank Credit Card accounts serviced by Synchrony Bank

The last three months we have had a problem with payments we made to several of our credit card accounts being sent to the wrong account, not credited to the correct account where late fees were charged to us and a negative reported to the credit bureau.

It first started about six weeks ago with my wife's JTV credit card account ending in 1228. For whatever reason they applied our payment through our bank to account 3712 with a zero balance instead of to account 1228 with a balance which we have always used. The payment from our bank was sent to account 1228 this was verified. Customer support told us my wife had two open accounts, we were not aware of this and my wife always used account 1228, she never used account 3712. It makes no since to use why my wife would have two open accounts, or why our payment was applied to an account with a zero balance instead of to account 1228 with a balance. This has never happened before. They waived the late fees and corrected the negative report to the Credit Bureau.

Then it happened again, our Phillips 66 gas card sent us a past due notice, tried to charge us a late fee and report us negative to the credit bureau. There was no other account we could find. We did not receive a statement in an email like we do with all our accounts and communications. Again they waived the late fees and corrected the negative reported to the Credit Bureau.

August 18, 2019 I received an email from PayPal that they have received our payment of $200.00 for account 4448, my wife's PayPal account is 8833. This is what we have always used for payments through our bank.

I contacted PayPal Customer Service with Synchrony Bank that now handles our PayPal account. After talking to several people, being transferred several times I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was able to understand what was happening and explained it to me. Synchrony Bank now services numerous credit card accounts with more added all the time, and changes some of the prior account numbers. She said we should have received a letter in the mail explaining which accounts were now being handled by Synchrony Bank and what if any new account numbers were changed. We received no such communications by mail, email or phone call and were unware what was happening or why.

We now have received past due notices on three accounts, JTV, Phillips 66 and now PayPal. Thankfully all three late fees were waived and any negative reported on us was corrected. We have spent countless hours, days trying to straighten this out

We pay all our bills on time through our bank Bill Pay seven days prior to the due date to arrive on or before the due date. We do not pay our bills late and have an excellent credit rating we are proud of. We have never had this sort of problem before. I do all our communications by email, not by mail or phone calls. We go green and have all statements sent to me in an email. Thank god for this manager at PayPal Synchrony Bank Customer Service that was able to explain what was happening.

I am still trying to contact Synchrony Bank, every time I try online I cannot get access or get registered to check on our accounts. I was told the web site is down and try again later, its been several days and it is still down. How do we contact someone at Synchrony Bank to talk about this and correct the problems? We need to find out if any account numbers have been changed so we can correct them with our bank for payments.

Synchrony Bank late payment charges

Opened an account for a promotional purchase (6 months no interest). Made the first payment early, before I had received the first statement. Even though the first statement credited the account for the early payment, it showed that I owed a minimum payment by the 25th of the following month. I then set up an automatic payment from my bank to occur on the first of each month.

I made a total of seven payments, the last being before the account was due. But Synchrony now says that I owe them late charges, and that the best that they can do is write off the last three late fees. In effect, I'm being penalized for paying the account early.

I have spoken with six different people, and they all tell me that they can do nothing more, and in fact, claim that they have gone "above and beyond" by offering to forgive the last three late charges.

It just doesn't seem fair that I pay the account early, but am getting charged late fees.

Take it as a life lesson. What Synchrony did was not out of the ordinary. You made a premature payment which is fine, but to expect a billing system to know that you made a payment for the billing statement print and that was supposed to be for a bill that does not exist yet is asinine. This is not how any bank operates in regards to credit payments.

On top of that, as you said, they showed you the payment, and a mininum due. When you make assumptions, you make an [censored] out or you and..well you!

Do not assume! That is the lesson for today.

Class is dismissed!

Synchrony Bank worst company ever

I:m disabled & can't get out & do things, because Amazon ships fast I opened a secure account with them so I could get a stupid 5% rebate on my orders, my mother will be 72 on 8/8 so made a payment on my card in plenty of time, I thought, to be able to order her birthday payment & get it here for her birthday this HORRIBLE company is holding my payment for a month...A MONTH so now I have my money tied up with them & no way to get my mom's present, they are horrible & treat people who don't have perfect credit like they are nobody when part of the reason for opening this account was to build my credit, I'm closing my account at least then I won't be a 52 year old child being controlled by people that are heartless!

Synchrony Bank lowering credit card credit limit

Synchrony Bank is the worst crap company you can get.
I got credit and paid my bills every month,
and when I don't use it for awhile to pay off other accounts,
They lowered my credit limits on almost all my cards.
They did not send any notification that if I don't use it within
a certain time they were going to lower it.
I even had one that they closed.
I had a credit card and the company sent me notification
that I had 60 days to use my card or lose it, got communication.
I will not get any cards from Synchrony crap bank.
You need to let the customer know before taking action.

This happened to me as well. When I emailed Synchrony to inquire as to why did they lower my account and close the other, they checked my credit and discovered that my score dropped. One, my score actually has increased. Two, my score has taken a significant plunge now that you wrongfully closed an account that had a zero dollar balance as well as decreased a credit limit by nearly half which made the utilization rate appear to have increased. Synchrony Bank sucks. I will be forwarding my complaints to a class action suit attorney, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint with the BBB.

Synchrony Bank continuous "holding" check until it's 1 or 2 days late to collect a late fee.

They have done this to me basically from the start. I tried to do e-pay and for the first 3 months, it kept getting rejected, which resulted in late fees/credit dings. The third time I had a rep on the line and walk thru the whole process. At the end, she said it all looks good and we should be ok. A few days after that payment was due, I got the call saying I was late again. I decided to do it by mail after that. Shortly after (a couple months), I noticed they were posting my checks a day or two after the due date...regardless of when I mailed them. This month, I had several thousand dollars due on a 1 year same as cash promo. By this time I knew what the plan was...hold the check and get a late fee and then collect 1 years finance charge because I would be charged a $39 late fee. But...alas...I was aware of the dirty dealing. Even Though I mailed the check 10 days before the due date, it was still posted late...and another $39 late fee. But I had expected this and had added about $50 more than what was needed. They didn't get me this time. Do not trust these shysters. They are more dishonest than an establishment politician.

Synchrony Bank offshore customer service

First I allowed my account to get delinquent and I apologize. I've had an amazing experience with Lowe's as well as Synchrony customer service, and was trying to pay my $133. I want to get my account and finances in order, especially when it comes to Lowe's. I spoke with an offshore rep yesterday and said I would pay my bill online today. Today I got online to pay and kept getting a message that a payment was already scheduled and to choose another bank. I chatted with someone today supposedly name "Alice Blake". I tried to get clarification and she said the payment would take 48-72 hours to process. I said I agreed to pay online and didn't schedule anything, and now my payment was going to be even later. She said the payment was schedued on my end. Anyway she asked if there was anything else and I was typing an explanation that I never really got clarification. She ended the chat session while I was typing. By the way, at first I could tell there was no live rep and if referred me to Q & A links, which is never good (since the representation is live chat).

Synchrony Bank credit card

I opened a credit Acct with Synchrony Bank in 2017, after paying on time every month for the past 20 months, I paid off the remaining balance only to have Synchrony CLOSE MY ACCOUNT due to bad information that they said they gathered from my TransUnion credit report!
Not only did closing the Acct drop my credit score by a few points, it's also going to appear negatively on my report showing that the Acct was closed by the creditor.
I am extremely upset and their customer service manager was unwilling/unable to do anything since the Acct has already been close!
Bad business!

Synchrony Bank terrible customer service

I had the worst customer service experience of my life! After this experience, I will be letting every business I know and person to not associate with Synchrony!

I've been waiting to receive a carecredit card since 2/28/19. I was referred to open up a CareCredit account from my health care provider for a surgery I have coming up on 4/5/19. After not receiving it within 7-10 business days, I called 18998937864 today (3/27/19 @ 2:23PM PST) to confirm why I hadn't received my card in the mail yet. I talked to Patt who said that I should have received the card by now so she was going to cancel my current account, open a new account and get a card rushed to me so I would get it in 3-5 days since my surgery is on 4/5/19 and need the card by then. After she had already canceled my account, created a new account and issued a new card, she told me that they would no longer be able to rush it since this is a new account... I told her that it was a problem since I wouldn't receive the card in time for my surgery since it was sooner than 7-10 business days and I needed the card rushed. After she said that she couldn't do anything, I requested to be transferred to a supervisor thinking that they would be able to rush it after knowing the circumstances.

This is where the experience took a turn fore the worst. I was transferred to Jamie (Employee ID 3370848) who claimed to be a supervisor but based on her professionalism, I sincerely doubt. Her tone was extremely condescending, harsh and overall unhelpful. I explained the situation to her and she said that there wasn't any way to rush the card. Since she refused/couldn't help me rush the card, I asked her to verify that the new card was going to be sent to my correct address. She said that she couldn't verify any information like that but could only tell me that it was going to be sent to the address they had on file. I told her that I was concerned that the address that they had on file was incorrect since I got a letter from Synchrony saying that the address they had didn't match the one with the credit bureau and it was mailed to an old address. Apparently I didn't explain it clear enough because then Jamie became fixated on the letter saying that if I had an issue with the letter, I should contact the credit bureau. I reiterated that the issue wasn't with the letter, it was that I was never going to receive the new card since the address that was on file was an old one and credit cards are not forwarded in the mail. Still, Jamie didn't understand my concern and restated what she already had about the letter. I then asked to change the address and she said that I couldn't change it until I activated the account but I can't activate my account until I get my card which is getting sent to the new address...

I then requested again to verify the address that the new card was being sent to was the correct address and not the old one. She then reiterated again in an annoyed toned that they couldn't provide that information until the account was activated. After that, I decided to call back to get a different agent since Jamie was extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.

I called back at 3:26PM PST on 3/27/19 and was connected to Gale (Employee ID 3095). Gale was super helpful and pleasant to talk to. She told me that the address that they had on file and also the address that the new card was being sent to was the correct one and not the old one. I'm not sure why Gale was able to so easily provide this information to me yet Jamie, a supervisor, couldn't do this for me. After having such a terrible customer experience with Jamie though, I decided to cancel my account since I prefer not to work with and associate with companies that do not value good customer services and in extension, their customers. I'm not sure why an employee like Jamie is employed at Synchrony in a customer facing job, let alone a manager!

Like I said at the beginning, I've lost all respect for Synchrony because of how I was mistreated my Jamie (Employee ID 3370848) and will never be associated with this company because of her. I'm not expecting a follow up or any sort of compensation. I just wanted to let somebody at Synchrony know that might actually care about how Jamie is treating customers and causing them to run for the hills.

Synchrony Bank credit rating greedy liars when applicable

To whom this may concern;
Re; Methuselah M Shama and Grace M Shama
Concerning Violations of our Civil Rights;

We the above named couple are coming back to you on the erroneous and false reporting of our credit rating.
To begin with about 10-12 years ago we had a Lowes credit card and were trying to trim our budget for retirement so we turned in the credit card. Last month or so we noticed a couple of leaks in our roof and so we called Lowes and a salesman came out and gave us a bid of a little over $17, 000.00 to have our roof fixed. So naturally I went to the store I had already bought several thousand dollars' worth of stuff over the years to get a credit card to help with my repairs. Both I and my wife signed up for one and it was turned down in a matter of minutes and now here a week or so later we finally get a response why.
Now I only see 2 reasons why this would be as follows;
1. The first is because I am a veteran and I receive 80 % disability for the same and Lowes has put me as a risk of paying back my debt and in the process has lied and assaulted our character.
2. The second is, A few months back we applied for an Amazon card and received one in the mail. The only thing I bought was a hard drive because I didn't need anything else at the time. But on the first months bill there was a charge for something else. So we called Amazon and they took it off. The very next bill we got and that same charge was on it again. So I decided not to go through that every month so I cancelled the credit card which was issued with Synchrony Bank. They did not want us to get rid of the card and tried to get us to keep it but then I have bought from Amazon for over 15 years so kept the Amazon account but opted to continue as a pay as you go person and it has worked well.
However about a year ago I bought a newer car in Columbus Ohio and it was financed with Huntington Bank who said my credit score was well over 700 at the time. Just last month I talked to my banker here in WV and he offered to give me a better rate than Huntington was giving me on my car and I got a rate of 4% which was 2% less and several hundred dollars over the life of the loan.
Then last week or so I bought another used car in Marietta Ohio and my banker financed it for the same rate and I have a copy where this same Experian says my credit score dated on 12-21-18 is 757. Also on that same date TransUnion and Equifax reported close or similar scores.
But I get this letter where I have applied at Lowes and they say this same Experian is saying my score is 445. I'll send you a copy that I will present at our time in court if you wish so now then let me know.
But to beat all that right after we got that turn down from Lowes we went into Parkersburg WV to the Home Depot there and applied for their card and was immediately approved.
What you have done at Lowes is unlawful and illegal and if I don't receive a response from Lowes to these allegations legal action will follow.
I am a disabled American veteran and was happy to go and do my part. I am now 74 years old and have been a Pastor of a church for over 10 years and a member of the DAV.
What you are doing defrauding me as you are will not go unnoticed in this world.
Maybe you can shed some light to the judge and jury on how our scores dropped that much in that length of time without you using some sort of misaligned prejudices.
I respectfully submit this letter before I file legal action to give you time to repent of your evil ways. I will wait for 10 days before I file legal action for you to respond.
The book of Job says it like this:
Job 38: 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

Methuselah Martus Shama

Thank you for sharing your experience regarding the reckless behavior of Synchrony. This company is unethical, they do NOT care about the customers who pay them millions of dollars to allow them to remain in business and with this type of behavior, eventually, I am certain a class action suit will surface. Thank you again for sharing and thank you for your service.

Synchrony Bank haverty’s card

I paid the entire balance on the card off. Then received a notification from the credit bureaus of a late payment on my after month of paying it off. I called into to customer support and was told a finance charge hit my account after I paid card off, and that's what the late payment due was on. They quickly informed me the issue would be fix and removed the finance charge and said the account would no longer reflect a late payment. The late payment is Still showing up on my credit 2 months later. This is illegal and my account has never been late. I've not been able to get proper help on this issue.

Synchrony Bank gift card campaign

In May '18 i purchased a set of tires from Mavis and was told if I signed up for your credit card I would receive a $100 gift card so I did. I filled out the form they gave me, sent it in along with the receipt in mid-May. In late July after not yet receiving it, I called and was told my paperwork had not been received. The rep gave me an email address to resubmit which I did. She told me it would be another 4-6 weeks before I received the gift card. I submitted it again on 7/3 and followed up with a call a few weeks later only to be told once again that it wasn't received. I re-resubmitted it on 7/24 and now 7 weeks later have still not received the gift card. I'm contemplating filing a complaint with the Treasury Department office of the Comptroller. If I'd know I had to go through all of this I would have never applied for this credit card.

Synchrony Bank Unauthorized charges

Opened an acct in May 2018; told them no automatic payments since I always pay off early. First bill minimum due $32; paid $398. Two weeks later they took out additional $300. Said I authorized it 2010 on another acct. since then had two/three additional accounts and always paid by phone and was never auto pay deduction. Buried automatic pay info on p. 3; never noted on front of bill they would charge my checking account on any particular day for a certain sum. Very, very dishonest. Will never use them again.
