Sweet Petunias Cattery Stay away

I recently purchased a kitten from Sweet Petunias in Missouri, I was so excited to get my new little Himalayan fur ball. I paid $1, 375 for what was supposed to be a show quality kitten. What I actually received for my $1375 was an unhealthy kitten with birth defects, Hydrocephalus, and about $700 in vet bills thus far. I have had the kitten a little over a month. I initially noticed that my kitten was extremely underweight, he was 12 weeks old and weighed only about 1 pound. He walked in circles constantly, his eyes always darting back and forth, as if he were reading a book. My kitten just seemed extremely abnormal. I took him to my vet, who immediately asked her assistant to send for his previous vet records (while in Rebecca's care). My vet insisted something very serious was wrong with the kitten and stated that I should send him back, get a refund, and not take another kitten from this cattery. I was devastated, as I had been waiting for months for his arrival. He was supposed to be the perfect kitten... I called Rebecca of Sweet Petunias that evening. I told her what my vet had told me and her advice was that I should probably put the kitten down. She claimed she might replace him, but wasn't sure when. I was absolutely mortified at this response. At this point, I have paid $1375 for an unhealthy kitten, had him shipped, incurred a visit to the vet and her advice was 'you should probably put him down.' What kind of person was I dealing with, was this woman insane? I got off of the phone call in tears. My fiance' decided to take matters into his own hands and phoned her back. That obviously didn't go that well because a few minutes later, I received an email from Sweet Petunias claiming she would do nothing. No replacement kitty, no refund, nothing. At that point, I called my vet and explained the situation. I was stuck with this 'special needs' kitty, that I had paid a fortune for, and couldn't do a thing about it. My vet had received the fax from her vet by this time. Her vets report reflected that the abnormal eye movement (nystagmus) had been detected. Also, that my kitty had suffered from a respiratory infection, was significantly behind the the rest of his litter, etc. Rebecca's vet even included in her notes that she had questioned Rebecca about selling the kitten. Stating Rebecca's response was 'The prospective buyer knows he is sick, she still wants him.' The vet had even mentioned the possiblilty of hydrocephalus in her notes. This was horrible. Why in the world did this woman sell me this kitten? Having no options left, I decided to attempt to save my little guy, rather than put him down. My vet started a series of tests, attempting to rule out possiblities of what he might have. $700 later, we have come down to a diagnosis. My kitten was born with Hydrocephalus/brain damage. The prognosis is not good for my little fur ball. However, he is not in pain at this time, so I have not made a decision yet. The vet has warned me that he could go downhill at anytime. If that happens, there is no way to save him. Please don't by a kitten from Sweet Petunias, the flowers are wilting and dead there!
