Hargreaves can usually found in local bars (inebriated). Has a tendency to leave drunken voicemail messages on phones of ex-clients.
His sad attention seeking behaviour is caused by his cringe-worthy cravings for admiration - often combined with his drug of choice, alcohol.
He is the type of guy who puts the cart before the horse. Later, he is the last person to find out that it won’t work and blames the horse. Why? Because he is Steve - middle name liar - an alpha-male psychopath and fraudster masquerading as a confidence-oozing business man.
In reality, he is just a simpleton who desperately tries, and constantly fails, to sparkle in the business world. Is he a failed social climber ? No, he doesn't even know how to climb.
He is so full of himself that he well and truly believes he never makes mistakes. As a last resort he blames the person(s) who wanted a ride in the cart, but not the world’s best experts who calculated that it should work.
Steve pours his vitriol on anyone blaming him because it just could not be that Mr Perfect made any mistakes.
If he ever had a strategy then he made a monstrous strategic mistake by not ascertaining the cost of Moreamps.
Dealing with him gives you many tear-your-hair-out moments, while for him everything he did was either perfect or at least “another step in the right direction”. This was going on for years until I realised Hargreaves was stealing from shareholders’ funds, and even gambled with shareholders’ funds on the stock market. On top of all this he seriously expected shareholders to pay his income taxes that he, in the first place, had failed to transfer to the ATO (tax office). He dismissed all this as “crumbs on the big pie”. Far too late it dawned on me that he meant the big pie in the sky.
Fortune favours the bold but not the stupid.
