Stater Bros Markets Cashier - chyna attitude and comments

I waited in line while a very shabby customer handed the cashier several lottery tickets to check if winners. Then waited until her dug into his pockets for lots of change to pay. He coughed. Finally, he was done and walked away. I asked the cashier to disinfect her hands before ringing me up. She got mad and said ' you want me to wash all the counters too' then she says ' pull your mask higher up over your nose. I replied that it had slipped some while I was talking. I told her that all I asked was for her to disinfect her hands first. She walked way. Sher made another cashier finish my purchase. I asked her if my request was a problem. All I got was attitude from the two cashiers and the bag man. I paid my bill and left. I have been a customer at that store for 39 yrs. I have never had anyone be so testy. Maybe it would be nice to let a person request sanitation of hands without it being an issue.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to make a strong grievance complaint concerning an incident that occurred yesterday, July 19, 2020, in your Tustin, CA store #198. I am sending this complaint to your corporate office, the BBB, ADA discrimination, and also other agencies concerning current CA facemask PPE mandates.

I was visiting my Aunt this weekend, who lives in Tustin, from Ventura, CA. We did some grocery shopping yesterday late morning, wearing our facemasks as per your store's mandates. I do not want to cause cashier, Renee S., her job, but I am strongly advising your company, manager and supervisor to properly train your employees concerning ADA guidelines, CDC guidelines, CA mandates and COVID updates, as this cashier verbally and violently assaulted my Aunt in a way I have never experienced or witnessed since the COVID pandemic began. As we were checking out, Renee S. angrily kept reminding my Aunt that her facemask had to cover her nose, she yelled at her, told her that her kids were at risk because of my Aunt's facemask falling down past her nose, yet my Aunt continually readjusted her mask despite Renee S. continually verbally bludgeoning her to a point that she could not even check us out properly (my groceries were mixed with my Aunt's, she had to re-do our transactions because she was so upset by my Aunt's mask falling past her nose). I was in absolute shock by the treatment we received by Renee S. My Aunt (who will be 80 years old in September) was graceful and cooperative, fighting with a loose mask that kept falling a bit below her nose, yet Renee S. was like a Nazi guard, rude, yelling, threatening, and upset us so much I had to write this formal complaint. THIS TREATMENT IS NOT OKAY!

Needless to say, Renee S. finally straightened out our transactions (separated) and wanted us to have mercy on her for her "stress over masks and rude customers." What?!?! She was the rude one, not us! If I did not need the dog food I bought so much, I would have left my groceries and taken my business elsewhere. Again, I was visiting from Ventura, CA.

If Renee S. cannot handle wearing a mask or the stress of working with "rude customers whose masks may fall below their nose" then she should seek another job. This treatment was unacceptable and if management is not properly educating their employees concerning the current guidelines of our state, COVID and facemasks, then you are looking at a giant lawsuit for discrimination. I cannot imagine what Renee S. would have done if I came in your store without my mask, as I actually have a health disability (asthma and COPD) that exempts me from wearing a mask. Read the CDC guidelines. Read the CDC exceptions. Properly educate your employees. Do not ever allow a checker to treat a customer as Renee S. treated my Aunt yesterday again.

I will be awaiting your response to this incident. I have attached a copy of my Stater Bros. receipt from yesterday and have listed Web site information for current COVID guidelines/discrimination.

Stater Bros Markets rib eye steaks false advertisement

your ad for 1/08/20 to 1/14/20 for rib eye steaks for 4.99 a lb it does not say packaged or counter, choice or select. I did not like the way the package looked so i went to the counter and it was 8.99 a lb and i was told it was because it was choice not select but i told them the add does not say that, all it says 4.99 lb. I went to 2 more markets and it was the same thing. bought rib eye roast had it cut in half but it was the toughest steak i had, now i went back to market and the package steaks look like the counter seaks with pleanty of marble in steaks. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT Now your new ad says t-bone or porterhouse steak choice at 5.99 lb and i still have my receipt thank u. my email adress i [protected]@verizon.net

The chicken tasted stale like 2 day old chicken. The clerk knew it was not fresh. I am very unhappy with the clerk for not telling me and for selling the chicken to me. Stater Bros Markets employee discrimination too many restrictions on

I am a employee and was sent home early this morning because I have restrictions from doctors What happen to my paycheck that I need to pay Bill's. This is discrimination because I can't lift heavy product or drive at night. I am upset because I went to work and someone could have call and let me know ahead of time according to Danielle Trujillo they knew but I had left on Tuesday at 3p.m. They had ample time to call me. I live next to the store on N. Broadway Escondido 25ft separates My balcony from the alleyway, I have complained before about Your Driver's stopping along the wall & running their truck's & refers t has become a problem again! Stater Bros Markets staters complete waffle mix

I had never opened it. And it was actually 2 months out of date. But I opened the box of stater bros complete waffle mix and found dozens and dozens of little hard shelled bugs inside. The aunt jemima box was three same way, but the kodiak brand I got at the food bank had a plastic liner. Maybe using a plastic bag would eliminate this problem. Stater Bros Markets plastic usage

I am extremely disappointed by the Stater Bros. move to the use of MORE plastic packaging at a time when most responsible companies are moving to REDUCE plastic use. A kiosk recently opened in the produce section which is devoted to cutting and packaging various sizes of fruits. This has resulted in less room for produce and a decrease in the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables available for purchase. Americans are interested in less plastic packaging, not more. Consumers are capable of cutting their own fruit and putting it in reusable containers. You are moving in the opposite direction of customer sentiment.
