Spick N Span review: Cleaning Agency who has no good cleaners and disappear with your money 4

I would like to warn any expats or Singaporeans who're planning to engage a weekly cleaner. In Singapore, is quite a usual practice to engage a cleaner to clean the house on a weekly basis 4 hrs per session and generally they charge SGD 12 per hour. Like many busy professionals in SG, we will prefer to engage the service of a cleaning agency who are supposedly the "experts" in getting the right cleaners to come to your house. They charged SGD 70 per session (4 hrs). The lady Sherlin will come to your house first time to "understand" your business and insist of upfront 4 session money which you can negotiate down to SGD 230 for 4 session. Lady Aida will be in charge of sending the cleaner to you. Unfortunately, they sent cleaners who can't clean. It was so bad after 2-3 months that I've to ask them to refund the leftover 3 session money to me in Dec'10. They claimed they'll do so and till today Mar 16 2011, they went MIA. No answer of phones, no return of sms or emails. I'm in the service industry, I find such companies atrocious and they should not be operating at all. Guys, never trust www.spicknspan.com.

Thanks Redress.me, appreciate your kind gesture. Was upset with Spick N Span non professionalism and important to spread the news as Spick N Span have several cleaners who told me they were not paid by them after working for them for more than 3 months. There's no way they can pursue the matter as they're not educated and they don't have the money to engage a lawyer. Have a good day!

I have used Spick andSpan for 1year and they are good. I think the above is a smear because I know how hard working Sherin and Joshua are. My girl Doris has been with me for 2 months and I have no complaints. I used Pink maid and Amahs on Wheels before this and this has been the best one so far. In fact, when I showed my cleaner this review, she said she cannot belive it. She said they are very good to their staff. I think people should check before they believe everything. It is not a fair view.

I find this rather disturbing.. so much that I felt compelled to write in. We have been in Singapore for 2 years now and have dealt with Spick and Span ever since we have been here. We were happy enough with the service to recommend them to our neighbours and they're with them as well. While we had some issues with the change of girls in the past, our current cleaner has been with us for more than 7 months now. The company has always taken an honest and professional stand with is. We may have been lucky but considering that they were recommended to us too, I'm not sure what to make of this.

Forgot to mention that the business address on their website is actually the address of a software company. Even if I wanted my money back, I have no where to go. They won't answer your call, even if they do, they just make empty promises! This company really looks out to cheat. Beware!

I have a very bad experience with them as well! They charged me $320 for 4 sessions, insisted on a one month deposit (so i paid $640 for them to start their services!). All their cleaners were incompetent, the ok one took one hour to clean one bathroom! The promises on their websites are all lies. They promised that their cleaners are all ferried to the house via company transport and so it's more reliable. All the cleaners who turned up came on their own, no one was ever on time (at least half an hour late!). They claimed that they use 3M products on the website, which I don't see either. The scheduling was in a mess as well. I'll wait for the cleaner sometimes, only to know that she turned up the next day when I was not in. Accounts department just as bad. Claimed that they are not sure if I paid or not. When I handed the cheque over to Sherin, I asked for a receipt and she said the contract is the receipt. Now, they questioned if I paid after 6 weeks of bad service! Learn from my lesson, never engage them! Wished I read your post earlier!
