The United States Social Security Administration Social Security Administration

June 13, 2022

My name is Elvia Sisneros

I called on July 15, 2021 to file for widow's benefits but was told there were no appointments available. I was never called. I was finally able to reach someone after so many calls and the person realized someone else had entered an incorrect telephone number. The phone number was corrected. Again there were still no appointments available.

I kept calling again and again and was finally given an appointment for December 7, 2021. The day before I was supposed to receive the call, I received a message reminding me of the appointment. I now knew my telephone number was correct. The next day, I sat at the table and waited for the call 30 minutes before the appointment and waited 40 minutes afterward in case they were busy and never received the call.

I called several times and the call would drop. I finally called to find out what happened to my appointment and was told, you never answered your phone. I told her I never received the call. If someone did call, they misdialed my number because someone was able to leave me a reminder the previous day.

I finally found a Widow's form online which I filled out all the necessary information and mailed it and my husband's death certificate and our marriage certificate to the local Social Security Office in Albuquerque almost 3 months ago and haven't heard anything from them. A year will have passed around July 15, 2022 since I contacted Social Security.

Desired outcome: I would like to receive my Widow's Benefits as of July 2021.

The United States Social Security Administration Social Security Disability

SS has claimed that I have been overpaid. I have requested a copy of the Social Security payments for 2017 the year they claim to have overpaid me. I have requested these records numerous times both in person at the local office and by letter. Social Security has not provided the requested records. How can SS claim to have overpaid me but not provide any documentation or valid reason for the alleged overpayment? Local office staff is rude, stonewalling, and flat out denying me any information which established any validity to for the alleged overpayment. I have been dealing with this since 2017 with no resolve.

Desired outcome: I want a copy of the requested records. I want Social Security to review and find their mistake because I have not been overpaid but actually underpaid.

The United States Social Security Administration SS Benefits not paid

2 issues

1. DOD triggers living spouse to receive higher of both spouse’s payment. This did not occur.

On 5/18 called SS to fix. 90 minutes on the phone. Received confirmation letter and now payment is still wrong. Payment remained living spouse amount of $723 per letter. Not deceased spouse.

Amount should be $1552 (Richard Cole’s) amount. Elvera’s spouse amount was $723.

Owed for March, April, May and now June

2. DOD 2/28 930pm

This person lived the entire month of February yet the February payment was reversed. That is horrible and a gross miscarriage of justice nor does it abide by the SS rules. SS rule is that the person lived the entire month which is true in this case.

Thank you

Bnc# 22t2283c70958-a

Elvera S Cole

Desired outcome: 1. Payment changed to $1552 effective 3/12. Payment for both spouses for 3/1, March

The United States Social Security Administration Complaints about SSA Office Chicago Heights

Is it possible for an office to turn off the phones service? When I call The office, after dealing with the menu, a message says " All of our representatives are busy, please call back later". The phone hangs up, end of story. How can you contact the office if they turn off the phones. In February 2022, I was angry because after waiting in the phone queue, the phone hangs up. After a few times, it made me angry. I called again and while waiting I said to my wife "These damned stupid people keep hanging up the phone". Do you know that the operator was listening, got angry and said " I heard that, now I will hang up the phone". I told her that I would complain. Obviously, she doesn't care and said " go ahead, make a complaint". Really? Is this how we treat the public. Since the office was closed for COVID-19, You need an appointment. How can you make an appointment when they hang up on you, constantly. I drove to the office and was met by security. At the time, I was applying for benefits. Received a letter stating that I needed to show proof of birth and Social Security number. These are the most important documents that I have. I was not sending them through the mail so that they could be lost. The security office suggested that I leave the documents at the office with all info needed and a return addressed envelope. I asked to have my documents returned in person. Instead, the person that handled the documents called twice, within two hours at the end of the day. How was I supposed to complete my task with that short a period. Needless to say, my documents were mailed backed, even though I requested that they should not. Luckily, they made it. Supposed they hadn't? What troubles would I have to go through to replace these documents. When I applied for benefits, I request for an additional two months pay which would have been 3 month all together. Instead, I received one month. I called the national number, because I couldn't call the local one. Explained everything to a very nice rep. She suggested that I send a Request for Re-Determination or something like that. She said that it would take about two months. Haven't heard anything at all. Like the letter was never mailed. Now, the deadline ended in April. Who's fault is it again? Not mine. I did all that I was asked to do. This has been the most dissatisfying interaction that I have ever had. I need help and I need it badly. This driving me straight into depression, which I do suffer from. Blood pressure going through the roof and I do suffer from High Blood Pressure. Help me, Obi Wan Kanobi, you're my only hope.

Desired outcome: I would like to have the other two months payment. A better way to contact my local office. Reigning in employees that do not do their jobs.

This complaint is for my SSD that was denied because of my work credits. The application was filed on October of 2021. There is no just cause to represent them in this litigation due to insufficient work history. Several jobs that I received

W-2's for are unaccounted for. The reason being is because there are no evidence of how many times I've filed taxes. Please be aware that producing those W-2's now will cause unsatisfactory work ethics and perjury. Therefore I need to be advised of a recount of my work history credits.

The United States Social Security Administration Social security cards social security administration Frankfurt

It has become a nightmare to contact them. After so many calls, emails and online forms we applied for our babies' SSN cards. I asked who to contact in case we didn't receive them since getting a hold of them was near impossible. They asked us to email them. Email, no answer, online form, no answer.

They changed their phone service hours to three days a week two hours only per day. NO answer on the given times, I let the phone rang for up to half hour, Nothing. Then they changed their service again, now they say NO service per phone will be given and to please email them, NO ANSWER.

Frankfurt Consulate is becoming inept and unfriendly. Once I called the "front desk" main operator to ask something really silly. A no more than 1 minute question and answer, she told me (Not American due to her heavy accent I guess), everything is online she would transfer me, without letting me finished my sentence.

They need to all be fired. The people their salaries and they should be serving the people. If everything was online there were be no need for them then.

Desired outcome: Change SSN office employees and or hold them accountable. Answer people's inquiries, especially those who don't receive the SSN cards which are extremely important.

The United States Social Security Administration Under payment

I called Social Security on Jan 10th, 2022 to file for my benefits, after several calls and long waiting periods. I was told no Social Security representative was available to process my request for benefits someone would call me to get my SS completed. After a few months later I received a text from SSA for a March 3 appt. After waiting 2 months someone call in completed process my claim. If is this not my fault that your office took two months to process my later due to your understaff. I feel penalized due to of Social Security Administration delayed processing my claim, I only received ONE month of benefits. It was explained it would be one month behind, but I called and requested my benefits back in January , I should have been receiving MARCH and APRIL benefits instead of just April.

My first payment should have included March and April, it isn't my fault that they didn't complete the process in January as requested. Due to your office delay in process should not affect my income that is critical needed for my livelihood.

Desired outcome: I should have received my March benefits. My desire income is my March payment 1157.00.

The United States Social Security Administration Denied name change that was ordered by the court

This issue has been ongoing for years both my daughter and I haven’t been able to change our names. She has been married since 11/23/20. I’ve been trying to get my court ordered name change since March. Mine has been denied because the representative didn’t like the paperwork I submitted even though it was a certified copy. I have been trying to resubmit another request with additional paperwork and haven’t heard back. Both situations are due to a lack of communication on their part. We have both tried to call on several occasions but nobody ever answers after being on hold sometimes for hours.

Desired outcome: My daughter and I need our name changes. She hasn’t been able to file her taxes.

The United States Social Security Administration Social security office in Winchester VA

I am writing regarding the fact that all I needed was a name change from the social security office. Now, I need everything. I went to court paid a fee asked a judge and was granted my maiden name back. This was in January. I sent all required paperwork as copies to the Winchester office and was told they were not received. The lady whom I was speaking with told me I could not send copies that they would just be shredded. I informed the lady I spoke with in January that I did not feel comfortable sending originals as she could not confirm she received my copies. She stated that I could not get the services I needed without doing so.

Well, I sent the originals which included the order from the Judge, my birth certificate, my passport, my social security card, and My driver’s license with the application for name change via certified mail. (Having to be signed for) On February 6th, 2022. My receipt of delivery showed it was received and signed for on February 8th, 2022. The next week I received in an envelope dated February 9th, 2022, from the Winchester office with my birth certificate back. Only my birth certificate. I called and spoke with a gentleman who said that he sees nothing in the system and that if I got that envelope back that it would be 4 weeks from that date.

I waited and called back and again was told they have nothing in the system. From that time until now I have spoken with 6 people in Winchester who find nothing. One who left me on hold so she could search everyone’s desks. (The most action from anyone) and 5 people at the national level. I have left 3 voicemails with Miss Jackson (who is in charge) also spoke with an employee who said she verbally told Miss Jackson to call me and sent several Emails to the social security admin @ SSA.[protected]@ssa.gov. No one will help me no one has answers. The only thing I have heard is I am sorry this has happened to you.

It is unacceptable that they would get lost in a government office, and it is unforgivable that no one has any answers or any motivation to help me. I have requested an appointment and was told I cannot have one for this. Appointments are limited to special circumstances. How this does not qualify is beyond me. I have gone down to that office and was chased away by a security guard who knows no words, other than do you have an appointment. I am at a loss at this point. I cannot reach out to anyone further except the newspaper and the television stations. Which is the next place this letter will go. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Melissa Gaudet

Update: I posted to the What’s happening Winchester FB page. I was flooded with people with the same issue. These are paid government employees. How can this system be so broken? Thank God I am not living on disability.

Desired outcome: I want accountability and my documents replaced I want someone to be held responsible as it does not seem anyone cares. especially in a world with identity theft, I should not have to pay for a new passport ID, etc. They should.

The United States Social Security Administration I was issued my 1099 with false information

The 1099 indicates that I received over $15,000 in workers compensation, when in fact, workers compensation terminated 10/26/2020. I submitted the 38911 form that indicates this to be the fact. I was delayed in receiving it, but I did submit it to the office 2/4/2021. This 38911 form hasn’t made it to the proper authority in over one year. This not only means the my 1099 is flagrantly false, it also means that my full social security disability benefit has never been restored, and the Social Security Administration withheld over $25,000 of my entitlement, and that amount increases $1053 every month.

I want to send my documents and to proceed. First, I need to know if there are any fees to be applied here.

Thank you

Desired outcome: 1. My benefit to be distributed in the appropriate amount.2. For the administration to issue the amount that they withheld.2. Receive my 1099 reflecting the facts of this matter.

The United States Social Security Administration Unable to reach anyone at the SSA office in Frankfurt, Germany since late 2021

I contacted the SSA office in Frankfurt by means of their online form to report a change of address and request a statement in autumn of 2021. No reply. I contacted them again in February 2022 using their online form for the same reason and still no reply. When I phoned SSA in the US in February 2022, I was told that they could not see my address to verify it and that I would have to contact the office in Frankfurt. I then sent an email from my person email account but never even received an automatic notice of receipt. I would like to know what is wrong at the SSA office in Frankfurt and if it will ever be possible to verify the change of address, get a statement and file for retirement benefits this year. Covid is no longer an excuse. What is wrong in Frankfurt?

If they cannot deal with enqiries and applications, please allow someone at another SSA office to take care of this.

Desired outcome: I would like to be able to speak with a representative to get the information I need and file for retirement benefits.

The United States Social Security Administration Social security administration regarding ssdi application process

Hello;

my name is cheryl dyer my son applied for SSDI back in august of 2021 of which an intake was done over the phone, he was informed at that time that he would receive a packet of information to fill out and return to them. We received the packet of which was pretty lengthy and required obtaining varied information which took some time to obtain. we did return the completed packet in oct/nov 2021 and hadn't heard back therefor my son called them for an update and was informed they did not receive the packet and would need to reapply which we did via phone on feb 28, 2022 i believe at the cave creek , az office. The gentleman my son spoke with was short with him when my son asked for him to repeat certain questions, responding in a sarcastic manner. He informed my son that he would be hearing back from them within 3-6 months, my son suffers from depression and anxiety of which he has documented proof of via his psychiatrist, he was becoming anxious therefor i took the phone identified myself and told the gentleman that the 1st time he applied he was told that he would be able to collect benefits until a final decision was made on his permanent benefits. Also that he would need to repay any monies payed in the interim if he was denied permanent benefits. the intake gentleman became short with me stating " that is something else and does not apply to your son". i then inquired as to the gentleman's name he refused to tell me and asked to speak with my son again, my son also inquired about his name and the gentleman responded " You don't need to know that". the gentleman then abruptly cut short the phone call. my son has been unemployed since July 2020 and has had trouble paying his bills and has no other source of income. The intake people should not be treating clients rudely especially the SSDI ones as their ability to comprehend the intake process may be somewhat hindered, that is why I sit in on my sons intake calls to assure accuracy of information. I am requesting a follow up response to my formal complaint within a reasonable amount of time otherwise I will be forced to call the Arizona state disability protection and advocacy agency to look further into this matter. i and my son are concerned about reprisal regarding his application due to this issue. my sons name is sean albert dyer, the call was obtained on monday, Feb 28,2022 at 2:45PM the reference number we were provided with on feb 8, 2022 was 22E1553F37443.

Sincerely;

Cheryl Dyer

The United States Social Security Administration calls never returned

I retired from the Bureau of Land Management on 07/01/2021. I was told at that time by BLM HR my Medicare Part B had been filed and was taken care of. I filed for Social Security on 11/01/2021 with a phone appointment. The individual I spoke with said that I had not filed for Medicare Part B and that she was signing me up then and that I would receive a notice in the mail in a few weeks. I had not received a notice by late December and I spoke with the Longview WA SS office and was told that the paperwork had been filed and to be patient about the notice. By the end of January I still had heard nothing and I called the Longview WA SS office to ask what was going on. I was told that Francesca had my file and that I needed to speak with her and was given her extension. I called and left a message on her voice mail. I called 2-3 time a week and left at least one voice mail with my call back number a week for over 3 weeks. I never received a call back. I called the office the week of 02/07/2022 and spoke with a gentleman who looked at my case and told me that the BLM HR had made an error on my paperwork (Form L564) and I had signed where the HR representative was supposed to have signed and that error was the source of the problem and that Francesca would call me by the end of the day. Francesca did not call. I left another voicemail for Francesca 02/11/2022 and once again there was no call back. On 02/16/2022 I called the Longview SS office again and tried to get the name and contact info for the office supervisor or set up a meeting in an attempt to get things resolved. The person I spoke with did not give me that information or agree to a meeting but gave me a link to fill out the form for Part B and assured me that Francesca would call me at 3:30 on 02/17/2022. I filed electronically and dropped off a copy at the Longview SS office drop box with Attention Francesca on the envelope. Once again, Francesca never called.

Desired outcome: I want to know if I am now actually enrolled for Part B. If my filing is late and I am going to be penalized I want the penalty dropped as I have been working in good faith.

The United States Social Security Administration Representative

The representative who I talked to was very rude. I received a letter asking me to call regarding Medicare B enrollment date. She also had the letter and she said I'm not sure what this is about, I will have to ask around. I stated to her I applied for Medicare B and I assume this is what the letter is for. She screamed at me and said when do you want to start Medicare B. So she did know what this was all about. I tried to explain to her I have medical coverage now, but it will end after retirement in August. She rudely said I asked you one question now answer it. I state to her you should not speak to customers like this. She said I will send your application back and she said rudely have a Happy New Year and chuckled and hung on me. I never had someone talk to me like this. Thank you Adrianne J Duran

The United States Social Security Administration Daughter not receiving RSDI - Still A high school student

My daughter received Death benefits for her father and now SSA is stalling.
Why is she going to online school, and why didn't she graduate in 2021.
In December 2019, my daughter was beaten up at a basketball game in front of park Center High School in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. This ordeal was recorded on Facebook live, Instagram, and snap chat.
My daughter went to the emergency room at Maple grove hospital to treat her injuries. She also filed a report with the Maple grove police department. Because Amari Sims did not need stitches and did not have any broken bones, the police and schools (Park Center and Osseo) stated that She was fine and chopped it up as a living memory.
She had to live with the stigma of this ordeal and issues that followed her from middle school at Northview. The assistant principal told me that Amari was fighting with two girls because she was fake and bald-headed. So he found that it was justifiable for her to be suspended for fighting back in the school halls. At a parent-teacher conference, a parent came up to me telling me that my daughter was a drama queen. Amari was beaten up at Park Center because she spoke up to a bully who had beaten up a person she thought was a friend's cousin also on Facebook Live.
So I changed her to the alternative school, the OLC, and faced the same people, administrators, and parents who knew about Amari's issues. This mess had gotten so bad that teachers would corner me, wondering if she had problems at home. You see, I am a single mother, and I am at work all day.
So I talk to people about homeschooling and or Online School. I had to be either a mentor or a learning coach in either school setting. I learned that my daughter hated going to school, and she was treated differently and unfairly about many issues. She got super sick in February 2020 and was missing many schools again. I enrolled her in K-12 Online. Then the next thing I knew, Covid shut down. She had already been behind because she finally admitted she was skipping school because people were picking on her and treating her weird.
With all the issues with Covid and racial tension, we were having problems at home, work, and school. So I took the initiative to take advantage of mental services from my job for both my daughter and me. We had family therapy with maple grove therapy and wellness, which turned it her therapist, and then I got help with Cultivating Family.
I knew my daughter had a boyfriend. I did not think he was being mentally abusive and was very violent. Her boyfriend said some harmful remarks to my daughter on social media, which eventually, he came after me. He vandalized our home and alluded to the police by using the death of George Floyd and the incident with the young man whom the police officer accidentally shot to mock the police, which left us in a very uncomfortable and venerable state. Yet, again, nothing was done, and we had to deal with the issue independently.
Being defeated by Minnesota, we decided to move closer to family in Flordia.
She has been receiving RSDI Survivor Benefits for her Father's death since 2007. Her father's mother her grandmother, and I went to the Social Security Administration because we learned that Omari's Sims Identity was stolen. The SSA representative told me that since I am set up as a payee, I can not use any online services to make changes to his account and could only call to make changes using a PIN.
1. In January 2021, we received information from SSA that I would be removed from the SAA RSDI account because she is 18 years old. If she is in high school, she will still receive benefits if still a high school student. While in Minnesota, went to K-12 IQ Minnesota. The administrators filled out the form and cited that her graduation date would be May 2022. We sent the form. We called and confirmed.
2. March 2021, we received a letter from Social Security that her benefits would end because she turned 18 and told me to give the money back to the social security if it came into my account. submitted the information, and the funds were sent to her account. She faxed the report and confirmed that she would get benefits until May 2022.
3. In July 2021, Amari received a letter from the social security office stating that her benefits were ended and set up a reconsideration meeting.
4. In August 2021, we moved to Flordia and enrolled her in the K-12 Digitial Academy of Florida. School started on August 11, 2021.
5. Had the reconsideration meeting, and the person who conducted the meeting said that school did not start and had a hard time contacting someone to confirm she was still a high school student. She said she would call and expedite her benefits.
6. September called social Security which I told her she could not do because of the pin and what I was told. The reps kept saying they could not access the account, the PIN was no longer valid and closed the case.
7. October called again, and they said she needed to fill out a form for Florida and send it to the office via dropbox and or FAX.
8. called, and they said that they didn't see the items she dropped in the box (which is concerning because it was all of her personal information, social security information, ID, and banking information)
9. faxed the information, found out Mrs. Torras was sick, and her case was on hold.
10. called again, and they told her that the case was processed and was at the payment center because the payment center is not in the office that it would take over 30 days.
11. November is Still at the payment center, but Mrs. Torras sent it to the wrong department.
12. December is Still at the payment center, but Mrs. Torres is not in the office, and now the school she is going to may not qualify as a high school.

My concern: Again, her information was put in dropbox on September 8, 2021. Her Father's information has been compromised, and she is no one on the phone because Covid is honoring her PIN. Both Minnesota and Flordia have always said her expected graduation date is May 2022.
I lost my income, and we were on the verge of homelessness. She is trying to finish high school to move on to college and get a job. She has been through so much. Can someone please help her get these payments so she can finish school?

Desired outcome: My daughter to receive her back pay and going forward RSDI benefits until May 2022 so she can finish high school.

The United States Social Security Administration Late enrollment penalty appeal

Upon receivinga Late enrollment penalty letter in Nov. of 2020 with UNC, I submitted an appeal for reconsideration. On the website I used for filling out the appeal, it stated a decision would be determined in ~90 days. I still have not received any decision, and they continue to deduct the penalty from my SS check. I contacted my Senator's office in April and about a month later the SSA told Sen. Hironon's office that the LEP I claimed was actually the premium for prescription drug coverage through my Advantage program. I contacted my Insurance provider (Wellcare) and they told me that they have no premiums for drug coverage and the 7.90 per month was a LEP initiated by SSA. My Senator's office went back to SSA with this info and has now waited for 3 months with no response. I hope to use this complaint against the SSA for not meeting their fiduciary responsibilities.

Desired outcome: Stop taking this lobbyist tax out of my SS.

The United States Social Security Administration Harassing phone call

Received a phone call from [protected] stating it was Social Security Administration stating they found suspicious activity associated with my ss number. Since I lost my wallet in November I was interested they started threatening me about hanging up on them with police action. So I stopped responding and let them hang up. Then I called here. The man's name was Chris Harris, so he said

Desired outcome: Follow up on legitimacy

I need to please find out who I speak to about a complaint of one of your representatives who answers the phone at [protected] she was very rude and hung up the phone. She also decided to give us her opinion of me being a payee rep. and also saying that my nephew who hears voices and says things out loud at random (that his comment wasn't necessary. I had already told her to speak with him to get permission to speak with me because I knew he would have and outburst as he usually does. She got pissed off after I explained to her she was in the wrong field if she didn't want to deal with mental health patients. All of this would have been avoided had she let him give me permission to speak as they usually do. She needs to be fired! I literally called once and it said you all were short staffed so I called back and got a African American woman sounded like she was in her mid 30's. the 1st call was 106 the second 109 call they didn't answer for about 38 minutes and she hung up around the 46 minute to the 48th minute. I know these calls are monitored and recorded and my cell phone number where I called from is [protected]. Monique Newton. Thanks to her I have a hole in my wall because he got upset with her asking all those questions and telling him the password was not correct smh. Representatives need to be trained in this field if they want to work with ppl who are mentally ill. He is in the room now rolled up in a ball because he thinks I am going to call the police about the hole, but I am not because she clearly set him off with her rude and stand-offish attitude. I mean really this is beyond ridiculous. I don't argue I put the pen to paper just like I am doing here right now Jessus's help us all!
