Skin Laser Essentials Day SpaIt was a poor experience

Review updated:

This is the first time I went to Skin Laser Essentials after I found them in Google. I've gone to Fremont Laser before and thought it was good but wanted to try somewhere else.

The decor and cleanliness of Skin Laser Essentials was nice but I found that to be the only nice thing about this place. It was overpriced, which I expected for the area but the employees were far from nice. I found them to be rude and condescending and unhelpful.

My Laser Hair Removal experience here was uncomfortable at best. The employee who did the work did not seem to accommodate my concerns.

When I took my complaint to the manager or owner that was working, her attitude was even worse than the employee I was complaining about. I just didn't get what the problem was, it was like I wasn't good enough for them or something.

There're plenty of other places to go in this same area, I won't be going to Skin Laser Essentials again, they can keep their attitude.

Wow, I came here to complain and I can't believe there were already two complaints saying the exact same thing that I was going to! Or wait, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. I would never go back to Skin Laser Essentials, home of the overpriced attitude.

This place is horrible! I went there expecting a nice over all treatment, especially because it was pricey. The only thing I got was a rude tech. I asked for managment to explain my issues, and the woman, who was apparetnly the owner, Lynn, was even more rude to me than the girl that was helping me. I will never take my service back there.

Rude and overpriced is definately not something I am willing to tolorate. I am very unhappy.

After reading the responses I had to reply. I sent my girlfriend to the location in Dublin and strongly Disagree with the above complaints. The staff was excellent (and my girlfriend is hard to please, I know) and made her experience wonderful. The above people seem to be to similiar. Mmmm..I wonder if it is the competition.
Well, anyway, I think you should consider Crunch Inches in Dublin, CA a wonderful, REAL, place to go to lose weight.

I strongly disagree with every bad review on this page. I have been a client for five years. I started with them on Laser Hair Removal and moved on to other services. My belief is that this is some local competition trying to gain business by driving their good clients away.

I had an appt on 04/08/2010 to sign up for their weight loss program. I am the kind of person who does the due diligence by researching before getting into any such programs. Hence I called them the day before (04/07/2010) to request more information about the prescription appetite suppressants and the vitamin based fat burning shots that they used.

I was told by their director of operations (Lovee aka Lynn), that no shoe fits all and that they need to evaluate me before discussing drugs, which is fair enough. She also confirmed that the drugs used were FDA approved (which is what I needed to know).

I went ahead did my research(couldn't just blindly believe someone) and found that there are various medications and shots that are used to help in weight loss. Not all of which are FDA approved. There are only a handful of appetite suppressants that are approved by the FDA. So, it wasn't very hard for me to find the 5 appetite suppressant drugs (Phendimetrazine, Phentermine, Xenical, Ephedra, Phen Phen) that were approved by the FDA.

I also compiled a list of compounds that I was basically OK with getting injected with. This list included the general safe stuff like B12, B6 and chromium. I was also OK with getting an MIC shot. Per my research on the internet, these are usual suspects for fat burning shots.

My idea was to confirm, before signing up, that they were indeed going to use any one of those FDA approved appetite suppressants and the shots that they used contain only the compounds that I had compiled in my list. I was even OK, if the ones that they were going to use on me were NOT on my list, as long as they provided sufficient proof, that it was FDA approved and safe enough. After all, I really could have missed something while researching.

So, on Apr 8th 2010, I show up for the 2:30PM appt at 2:30. The director (Lovee aka Lynn), showed up at 2:50. I am not sure if it was intentional, because I had to cancel my appt on 04/07/2010 at the last minute.

Well, anyway, she came in and all the greetings apart, I, as planned, mentioned to her that I wanted to confirm, before signing up, that the appetite suppressants and the vitamin based shots were indeed FDA approved and were one of those that were in my list.

The moment I said that, she had this attitude and she said, "we use all these drugs, but, I have made my decision, I don't want to as a client". Well, what kind of a response is this? I merely wanted to get more information, after all it is me who is going to take the drugs and get the shots. Shouldn't I be concerned about my own wellness and safety?

Then she says, "I don't want you as a client, because you don't trust us". Well, their weight loss program is so secretive. They wouldn't disclose anything. How can anybody trust them? I was merely trying to get more information from them, so, I can "TRUST" them.

Basically, I was denied their weight loss program for being proactive and researching and getting to know more about this kind of weight loss. Isn't this considered discrimination?

I do not understand why they have to be so SECRETIVE about the drugs/shots used. This raises concern about their practice. Are they even saying the truth? There could be hundreds of people who are currently enrolled in this program and could be at a risk.

While researching, I found many medspa's like this one around the country, who list the drug and shot information on their website (pretty detailed info).

If this business is genuine, they wouldn't be so secretive. Being secretive only implies that they are doing something that they really shouldn't be doing or they are doing something that is against the law.

I don"t understand, I have been a client for the past 5 years and the service is nothing but impeccable. I have done numerous treatments with them and have had amazing results. I lost over 75 pounds in 4 months with there total support and guidance. This is hands down the best spa in the bay area. I highly recommend everyone who is interested in weight loss, acne, laser hair removal to try it out.

Very much agree. I just hate their attitude, in particular of the center manager. From what I see, the people who wen to the Dublin center have different opinions from the one's who went to the Fremont center. I have been waiting for a call back from them for last 2 weeks, they got the money and they come back showing their attitude. They have not returned one phone call, despite being promised like 5 times. The first time we discussed money back, they said that you have signed away your life and there was nothing that could be done now..Impressive right!! The weight loss product works, for sure it does since my wife lost like 10 pounds in a month, which is more than what I could have asked for. The attitude of the people there is what sucks.
I would suggest either using the Dublin center, if they are indeed good or else just finding elsewhere. I am seriously planning on suing them for this now!! I would hopefully give them once last attempt to call back.
