Skagen SK2137 leather watchstrap

I bought the above watch about ten years ago and the leather strap has been broken now for some time. I have tried to find a leather strap on the internet and local shops, but it seems they are not made anymore. I have contacted their customer services numerous times about purchasing a replacement leather strap but they have not been helpful, suggesting I try the Internet to look for one and then saying I could purchase a metal one for 35 pounds and 40 pounds. I do not want a metal strap, but I did want to know how a company can make a product with such unusual features and then render it useless when they decide to stop manufacturing them.

Desired outcome: As I cannot use the watch now I would like to return it to them for a full refund.

Skagen They broke 2 of my watches

I have many watches, items of jewellery and bags from Skagen and Fossil and have always been more than happy with them. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case and I’m so disappointed.

Please find enclosed the watch I sent to you to have the battery replaced many weeks ago. I sent two watches for battery replacement. Both watches have been broken in the process. This (the pink one) I am returning because the mechanism no longer keeps time.

The other (the white one) you didn’t even return to me. It got broken and I had to chase you to find out why it had not been returned. I am still awaiting a satisfactory resolution to this breakage. I was offered a voucher which does not cover the cost of any other available watches and in any case I have been left with 9 sets of silicone straps with no watch face to use them with.

This is shocking customer service.

I’d like a replacement for each watch face so I can use the 16mm straps I have which are currently redundant. I have also already paid you £22 for one repair plus two lots of postage and now return postage for this pink watch. That amounts to £40

If these watch faces are no longer available, please don’t fob me off with an email about vouchers which I have to continually chase. I rarely get a response; they are never timely, and they never resolve the issue. I’ve tried calling but my goodness that’s even worse. I do not want an Armani watch or any other brand. I want a Skagen watch which I can use with these straps which are like new. Or a full refund of two Skagen Aaren watches which I don’t think is unreasonable consider you broke them. I also want the postage to be refunded. Thank you. Please let’s get this resolved satisfactorily to restore my faith in the company.

Order numbers – [protected] – pink one

Repair - RP68469 – the white one

Both were 36mm to use with the 9x16mm strap sets I have.

Desired outcome: Refund for both watches plus postal costs

Skagen Poor quality watches and customer service

I can only echo the words of other dissatisfied customers. My experience with Skagen watches is that they ultimately prove to be poor quality and I cannot recommend their purchase if you want to retain your sanity. Both my husband and I have had a number of these watches (based on their attractive appearance), either purchased or as replacement watches for faulty watches. I experienced:

1. Dislodgement of a circular metal piece on the watch-face preventing the 'hands' from turning. Watch was replaced under warranty.

2. Eight months later, the second 'hand' of the replacement watch fell off. Repaired with a 12 month warranty by Fossil group (Skagen's Australian representative).

3. 14 months later, the glass 'face' fell off the replacement watch. The 'Fossil group', repaired the watch (the watch was still under warranty) however later when highlighting to them, the NEXT problem with the watch (see below), stated that this repair was actually done as a goodwill gesture!

4. Two years later, again, but on the replacement watch, the circular metal piece on the watch-face dislodged, preventing the 'hands' from turning. Having been through this routine once before (in (1) above) I attempted to shake the circular metal piece out of its dislodged position to free the hands and at which point I accidentally dropped the watch and cracked the face. I think my attempt at remedying the situation was perfectly reasonable given the repeat circumstances however, I was reminded by the Fossil group that " 'accidental damage' is not covered under any product warranty. Furthermore, all warranties on the original watch and any previous repairs are expired and repair fee's apply".

Time to get to the heart of the matter. Firstly, why would I even bother to consider dealing with these two companies again, let alone spend money repairing poor quality watches, that at best, offer a very limited lifespan? Is there a world-mandate that we consumers must repeatedly fork out money for faulty watches every couple of years to line the pockets of their makers? The Skagen watches were faulty and from their performance, smacked of poor quality. In my experience, owning a Skagen watch involves the time-consuming responsibility of pursuing repeated repairs and having to detail at length, the fault(s) and justify to their representatives (Fossil group in Australia), the need for repair under warranty.

Wanting to know what Skagen themselves thought of the situation, (and dare I say the owners of Skagen - Mr. Henrik and Mrs. Charlotte Jorst?), I cc'd [protected]@Skagen.com, on my latest communication to the Fossil 'Customer Care', detailing the situation. I received an email from Fossil advising:

"Thank you for your email directed to [protected]@Skagen.com.

Please note that Fossil Australia is the Service Agent for Skagen watches and that all correspondence is directed to us here at Fossil Customer Care”.

I translate that to mean, if you attempt to contact Skagen directly to make your feelings known and (as what might be viewed a charitable contribution), enlighten them on how their business is performing, they will either not receive the email at all or they will not respond to the email directly but instead, will redirect it to their representative (who you are also dissatisfied with).

Bottom line, don’t put yoursel

Desired outcome: Replaced watch or refund

Skagen Non delivery and no response

I ordered a watch for my husband for Christmas and have received nothing. I've been chasing UPS with no avail and they've asked me to contact skagen. I've emailed, had one automated response; weeks ago! No responses to any of my emails since. When I call I'm on hold for 45 mins. They won't respond to me on Twitter or instagram. I'm £159 short and I don't know when I'll get this watch.

Skagen Watch and service

My wife bought me a Skagen Skw6078 in 2016 as a 50th anniversary present.
I had the battery charged late in 2019. I do not regularly use the watch but have just found it now has condensation on the face, presumably because of problems with the seal. This clearly should not happen to an item costing about €150. In my view not of merchantable quality.
I contacted Skagen. I found the staff member unhelpful and extremely sarcastic. The person eventually replied that they could not do anymore as they only dealt with US customers and told me to contact customer services. This I did, but no response.

Skagen poor quality watch, poor customer service

Customer number [protected]

889SGXG watch bought in 2013 as a special present from my husband. Very pretty evening watch, so actually was not in everyday use. Just before Christmas I noticed it was not working. Changed battery-no good. Sent to Skagen registered repairer. Came back saying couldn't be repaired due to lack of parts. Offered money off specific watches - not similar to mine.

I emailed -"Could you please tell me what is wrong with the watch that it cannot be repaired?
If it cannot be repaired can a new movement be put in the watch face/bracelet?"

Reply "We do apologize for the lack of parts. The movement is the part that had to repair/replaced."

I emailed repeating my question

Reply "I am sorry I said what was stated on your profile, we will not be able to replace this part sorry."

Where do I go from here? The watch came with a limited lifetime guarantee, states on their website these repairs should be free. Customer Service poor.
Very disappointed. Perhaps public media complaint.

Skagen skagen watch

Watch crystal broke 1st time after hitting a table, not even hard. Got crystal replaced, today 2nd day of wearing, just checked; broken Crystal again. Did not bump into anything or do anything out of the ordinairy; I do office work.
Watch is too fragile for day to day wearing. What is the point of having this watch then you might ask. Good question, I do not have the answer. What I do know is I will never buy Skagen again.

Skagen watch repair

I mailed my watch to the Dallas Texas office on August 1st 2019 to have the cracked Crystal cover fixed: Request #3826926 ( SKW2433 )

On September 3rd I hadn't heard anything back about my watch or received anything in the mail so I found an email to Fossil group and inquired about my watch. They responded sane someone would contact me but nobody did. On September 25th I looked up and found a customer service phone number and called. The person I spoke to acknowledge that they had received the watch and said it had been sent back to me but I had not received it. They said they would look into it and call me back. I received a phone call back but I was in the classroom teaching and couldn't take it. The woman left a message and said for me to call her back because they weren't able to locate the watch. I called back the next morning and a man told me that he would look into it and call me back in 15 minutes but I did not get a phone call back. On Saturday the 28th of September, I received the watch back in the mail "still broken" ... The crack had not been fixed. There was a note inside that said they tried to contact me your email for payment but I had not responded. I search through my emails and did not see an email other than the one they sent me in response to my September 3rd inquiry. I called then in ask them why they had set my watch back without fixing it and why I had not received an email or phone call. B said the email would have come from a different email address. I searched on my computer through my trash and spam but did not find that email. I was very very angry to say the least. They had my watch for almost 9 weeks and did not fix it and did not endeavor to contact me. They told me to send it in again but I'm too angry and upset and disappointed in their customer service to do so. I would rather send it overseas then send it back to Texas. in short I am very angry and very disappointed. Their customer service was absolutely horrible... And my watch is still not fixed!

Skagen watch

I purchased a skagen watch, which I only were occasionally.
I put the watch on to go out for dinner on Sunday evening, the glass was perfect.
During the meal I checked the time only to find that the glass had a crack diagonally from left to right .
How can this happen when you're just sitting having a meal.
Disappointed to read that it has happened to many others.
First time for a glass cover to crack in over 60 year of wearing a watch .

Skagen wristwatch

Two years ago, in March 2017. I bought a Skagen wristwatch with white leatherband.
After only a few month the leatherband looked shabby and worn. I went to the Skagen partner shop in Nabburg Germany and asked if the band could be replaced by a metal one. Not possible.
I paid some 30 euros for a new leather and which meanwhile looks even shabbier than the old one.
I am very disappointed and am afraid Skagen is no longer an option for me.

Skagen service center (mumbai - bangalore); watch

Dear Team,
I had a Skagen watch and had given it for a repair @ Fossil Service center @ Oberoi Mall - Goregaon East, Mumbai 63, Initially the watch was taken for replacement of battery, glass change, cleaning and buffing. They informed me that they the watch would be shipped to Bangalore for repair as that's the common service point. I agreed on that and shared my Skagen watch model number - 2331ssm to the concerned person of service center.
After 8 -10 days I got a message from Fossil group stating that your watch budget expense is 2500 rs and expected to get completed by 30th September 2019. I was happy that I will get my watch soon and later I got a message from Fossil stating that your watch is ready for free home/store delivery just called on the toll free number. This one was also an exciting message.
I tried login the repair portal of Fossil care as instructed by Fossil service center to make the payment for my watch. I was unable to login so I informed the service center guy that I am unable to login with the password provided. So he informed me to reset the password as this is the common error face by the customer. I did that and I was able to login. However I tried checking the status of my repair with the service center they informed me that my watch is not repairable and they would give me a depreciation amount of 50% of watch, this credit I can only use to purchase a Fossil watch.
Below are some of my points to be considered.
• My watch was never faulty, only the drainage of power had lead me to give it for repair, then why they need to replace a part from my watch. Which was never the case, it wasn't dead because of some part.
• If it was faulty then why was the budget expense cost was shared with me.
• A person buys a branded watch to get the honest and trustworthy service, However there is no service center of Skagen in Mumbai
• Will a person buy such a luxurious watch and expect it to be faulty so soon and yet no replacement from same service vendor
• Why should I buy a Fossil watch only - why not I can get a discount option with Skagen watches (Sound to be so fishy and seems to be Sales trap of Fossil)
• Sjkagen style and variety are different from other watch company because of which, we as a customer buy their watches, why do they expect us to use the depreciation amount with Fossil watch company
• How would I be assured that the watch I will get back with original parts and no more defects
I am highly disappointed; I am not sure what is going on @ Service center side. How genuine all these things are. Beside this I have also got a message from Bluedart stating that my watch is already shipped.I don't know what is happening, I want my watch to be repaired or else a Skagen replacement is fine. I am not expecting to spend such a heavy cost for buying a watch and it is just a waste.
Hope you will be able to resolve this issue quick and soon.
Thanking you - Yagnesh Singh - 91 [protected].
Enclosed - SMS pictures and Summary of repair statement.

Skagen signatur rose-tone steel-mesh watch

I have had the watch a couple of months when the glass shattered and I do not know why. I first noticed it when I spotted broken glass (crystal?) on the floor. Only then did I see that the watch glass was broken. I have not got a clue how it happened as I had it on my wrist and I do not remember knocking it against anything.
First time this has happened to any watch I have owned. It is a smart watch and needs to be worn at all times. Should they really be manufacturing something this fragile?
Glass breakages are not covered by warranty - now I know why.
Looking at the posts on here it looks like I will have to pay at least half the original costs plus postage to send it to Burton on Trent. Not sensible if it is going to break after a couple of months so it is going in the bin and it will be the last Skagen I buy.

Skagen poor quality of skagen watch and no response from your customer services email address

I purchased a skagen watch 18 months ago and since the purchase the crystal has cracked twice and has had to be returned to skagen for two repairs. It has now cracked a third time. All these breakages have occurred without the watch suffering any jolts, bangs or being dropped.
Given that this is now the third time the problem has happened through absolutely no fault of my own I decided to take it to an independent watch repairer instead of returning it to John Lewis where it was purchased.
He looked at the watch and was reluctant to repair it as he considered that it would crack again. This is because the crystal cannot fit properly into the frame of the watch. Because it's a tight fit, one side of the crystal is very slightly raised and is under strain.
Given that this watch has been returned to skagen twice already without any recognition that the size was faulty I'm reluctant to go through the same process again. Instead I am asking for a replacement watch.
Would you like me to send photos of the existing watch?
Please reply. If I get no reply this time I am planning to consult with the retail ombudsman and/or TV consumer watchdog programmes additional to a trust pilot review.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Skagen skagen mens watch

I have bought my husband two skagen watches in the space of three years. Both watches have had their glass broken. My husband doesn't even remember dropping the watches either. After reading other people's reviews I've found that it is poor quality and that it a waste of time complaining to skagen. They are not interested. Advice to everyone steer clear of Skagen.

I have submitted my watch for repairing on 17th March 2019 (only glass need to be changed) but I am not receiving any positive response to receive back even after 41 days lapsed. This was my first and last time to purchase the watch of this company .
Ridiculous services. Shop keeper told me that minimum 45 days required for repairing where company provided 1 year warranty.

Skagen crystal glass breakage

Like may others the crystal glass cracked in my watch whilst still stored in the original box ! And like others I wish I had known about Skagen / Fossill's reputation for "lousy "customer service.
Bought the watch on a P&O cruise and wrote to them as they issued the sales receipt, they referred me to Harding Retail of Avonmouth Bristol UK who run the on board retail outlets. They washed their hands of the matter saying that they are an international company who do not trade in the UK and despite being registered in the UK that they are not bound by the Sale of goods Act 2015, also referring me to Skagen to take the matter up with them. I eventually received letter on plain paper but purporting to come from Fossil, suggesting I send the watch to them for repair. I will not be doing so having read others comments.
Future buyers beware !

Skagen Skagen hybrid

Bought a hybrid watch on Thursday and have been unsuccessful in syncing with iPhone as message keeps saying device not found - I have never had such problems with any other device, the only thing that worked was setting the time. The instructions are hopeless and I have put it back In The box ready to return to the jeweller - an acknowledgement from skagen but no help with the problem. If they don't come back in the next day or so I will return it. What a disappointment- I hope they read these negative reviews
