Friday the 21st I went to do some shopping at Shoprite Hyper in Uitenhage central. One of the items I bought was a box of I&J burgers. I realised at home when I was preparing breakfast Sunday that something was smelling funny, when I checked the expiry date and saw that it had expired on the 10th of April 2021. That is after my fiance had tasted that it tasted sour.

Went to shoprite immediately to return it and to complain. We were helped by the cashier at the Kiosk counter. The manager arrived, didn't greet us, didn't ask us what was wrong he took the box and asked where was the rest of the burgers. And like I mentioned I had already cooked a few and that's when we noticed they were off.

He took the box went inside the shop, came back told the cashier that there was no other box with the same serial number and left.

When we asked the cashier where was the manager to apologies to us, she showed us the rude man who had just left. When we asked him why he didn't say anything to us, he implied we didn't buy it there but he had the slip for R1200 in his hand.

He was so rude and brushed us off as if we didn't matter, than finally he said he appologises "IF" we bought it there.

Never mat such an ignorant manager who doesn't care about customers like that. I am disappointed in Shoprite the Uitenhage branch.

They sold me a bus ticket for my 2 year old son and I paid full price. APM bus drivers and other attendees they told me that the child does not pay they start from 3 years so they told me to lay a complaint to you guys. The bus is from Johannesburg Park Station to Idutywa. At Shoprite I was helped by Thembekile Simelane

Monday evening (3rd of May 2021) my wife bough groceries at Checkers Hyper, Sanlam Center in Parow. One of the items was a garlic loaf which she wanted to bake in the oven. She was busy cooking a surprise birthday supper for us and a few people. To her surprise the garlic roll was totally moldy. We were so disgusted at it and took it back this evening to the store. We followed their procedure by customer care and the perishable manager (Marcelino Van Breda) was called in.

My wife's money was given back and the perishable manager told my wife he would sort out the matter. He offered her a cheap jam roll and she told him not to insult her as she is a client who spend nearly, every night, around R500 at the store.

My wife told him that she feels insulted and that his apology was not even sincere. He just shrugged his shoulders and said it was the best he could do.

If this is Checkers Hyper commitment to customers, then we are shopping at the wrong store.

I went to shoprite liquor Mpophomeni yesterday the 09-04-2021
Was at the door at 17:40 but the doors were already closed and the security guards were only letting people out the shop and not inside. When I questioned this they became very rude and told me straight that they will not let me inside the shop because it's late but the trading hours states they close at 18:00
I went inside the food shop and reported this to the manager on duty and she told me that they can let me go inside but they will not ring my stuff if it gets to 18:00 and I am still inside the shop. I'm very disappointed at the service I got from this store and even walked away without buying because they would not let me in. Please teach your staff about trading times and customer service. Unfortunately I was so angry I didn't get a names for these people as I was stunned with the treatment I received.

I went to checkers n1 city mall to buy a piece of fish for my lunch with my friend it was so full today so I went to pay by the kiosk when I got there, there was a lady in front of us also wanting to pay for sanitary pads as we were speaking she was telling me that she just had her period now and wants pay and quickly and go to the toilets to sort herself out and by the till there were two ladies paying as we were standing one of the supervisor came to tell us that we can't pay at the kiosk so we asked why as we only have 1 item and we asked to see a manager she went and call a manager by the name of Mrs. Samuel's, I will never forget her approach she was so rude she came shouting telling us from the distance that we're not going to pay there and we suppose to know since we have been shopping there for a while now and she is not even going to argue with us, we were so embarrassed as every one was looking at us and we went to the normal till all 3 of us as I was busy venting out to the cashier who was helping me she said Mrs Samuel is rude by nature even with them as staff she speaks to them like that I paid and my friend and I went to her office I told her I am so angry at how she spoke to us. She did not even apologize instead she was defensive that if we have a problem we can phone her manager, my problem was her attitude, I believe she should have come to us greet us first and find out why do we want to see a manager then we can all explain why and she could have explained it in a good manner that they don't allow customer to pay at the kiosk at checkers and not assume that we suppose to know that, she doesn't even know that the other lady with sanitary pads needed to be helped fast as she just had her period unexpectedly I am still shocked at how did checker employed that person with no compassion and peoples skills a manager who doesn't know that you treat every situation differently

I have repeatedly experienced the rudest barbaric behavior from the same manager. She is disrespectful, she points her small fingers on my forehead. She perpetrates violence. She is pregnant and I really had to hold myself from retaliating . She has no clue of her responsibility as a manager in the shop. I was asked by a random customer to give her my points card, but I never responded. Hlengiwe came in the middle of this mock and fueled fire, because I was speaking English. I was attached by these strangers and she was in the middle of this behaviour, threw my grocery on my face.

Good day my name is Lucky Maxwell Khumalo my home address is 4049 Constantia Park Maokeng Kroonstad. I am the Practice Manager at a store called Spectacle Hut Optometrists in Maokeng Mall Kroonstad.

I hereby lodge a complaint about an incident that took place in your store Shoprite Maokeng Mall (Kroonstad) date 12/03/2021 it was around 11h00 not sure about the exact time. So what happened is that I went to the store to buy something to eat during my tea time, usually us essential workers we do not queue like other customers if we are still at work. So I did exactly that but waited for the customer who was busy with the cashier to finish, as I was waiting there was a lady I do not know her name what I know is that she is the controller of front end staff. She just shouted at me in front of the customers and told me that I am not gonna pay at that till point. It ended in an argument she then went to the manager's office I went to the office also after paying still the matter was not solved, and then the store manager called security to escort me out like I stole something from the store believe me it was not a good scene to watch.

So I went out like that and went to my store as I was eating the Husband of the Store Manager came into my store angry using abusive language I felt intimidated because He is not an employee of Shoprite. So please help me regarding this matter it is urgent

You revamp a store with such a stupid layout it is shameful. What a bottleneck at all the tills. People having to shunt trolleys up and down to fit by the till.
Then get lip from the cashier as you never put the items down on the right side.
Today I had to wait behind someone as the tills are to close together and one must push past the customer in front of you to get to the till attended ringing her number bell and calling come come come.

Should one just hit the customer in front of you out the way?

Who the hell thought out the layout for brackenfell hyper?

Unacceptable!
Disgraceful the lack of though that went into this branch.

So customer unfriendly.
Will not go back!

Checkers Plumstead Cape Town

The above mentioned branch has the worst and slowest service I have ever come across. The african cashiers has no manner of speaking, insist that you address them in english and really just lack people's skills. They say they are not paid enough. The sushi bar refuses to add extra ginger to their crab stick salad, you will find one small piece in the salad only. The Money Market has no competent staff and two tellers needs to help one client at all times. Speaking of which, there is only two tellers at most at this counter, even at month end.

There is a promotion on 750ml Black Label, 2 bottles for R 28-00 at Shoprite LiqourShop Delmas, Cnr Sarel Cilliers Street and Second Ave. Today, 23 February 2021, 10:41, I bought a case of Black Labels, providing empties and a crate to carry the loose bottles but I paid R194, 99 for 12 bottles. I bought 5 cases for witch I had empties and cases for the loose bottles. It worked out R 32, 50 for 2 bottles of Black Label. There is no limit per person on the advertisement but they refused to sell me 13 cases telling me I am only allowed to buy 5. I was overcharged R 105, 25 on 5 cases and they are still refusing to sell me more.
I would like to have my R 105, 25 back and if you are only allowed to buy a certain amount it must be shown on the advert. I would also like to purchase more of the promotional stock.

I purchased the above product on Monday the 01-02-2021, from the Shoprite branch in Phoenix, Durban, I purchased 2 trays. I fried the above mentioned item on the 02-02-2021 for my kids to only find out they were absolutely sour and nor my kids or myself could eat it, this means supper was re-arranged and my monies were wasted. This is unacceptable as the date on the pack is the 06-02-2021.

Today have sent my daughter to Shoprite Naledi to buy milk, when we opened the milk it was off. We send them back to for exchange before they could assist them they were requested to drink the milk by one of the lady at Shoprite. Horrible customer service we want action to be taken against that lady this is unacceptable please check the footage.

Went to shoprite goldspot in vosloorus to buy sweets with a 100 note the cashier was rude and disrespectful asked why am I paying with a 100note mind you her attitude horrible she refered me to another cashier who also was rude asked me the same question. Their behavior was totally uncalled for this is not the first time I experienced such rude behavior from this store staff needs to be well trained on how to speak to customers what happened today was totally unacceptable

I was insulted by a cashier today for questioning why she was serving someone who had skipped the que. The lady's name is Akhona and she is based at Checkers Emmarentia.

She told me it was not her duty to tell people to join the que. She even used derogatory words telling me how I am a foreigner and should take my complaints to my country.

The worst part is that she was shouting at the top of her voice and no one would call her to order. It's disgusting and pathetic that customers are treated treated like dirt when they are merely spending their hard earned money. It's a shame.

Today 22/12/2020 a extremely bad smell was in the shoprite checkers Amanzimtoti beach road shop
On investigation found chicken that was rotten so bad it had a slimy substance when it was picked up
Most of the time visiting this shop a bad odour is present in your shop
I will have to buy meat from a different shop from now on this is a extremely bad experience
Unfortunately I did not have my phone with me to capture this

I'm writing this letter in great disappointment.

I just bought some things at Shoprite in China town Parow store and just got home to enjoy the donuts I bought from the store, only to find that there was a piece of iron or what looks like a nail inside one of the custard donuts.

I am very surprised and upset when I saw it in the donut, also with the mere thought that I could have swallowed or maybe
broke off my teeth or even worse.
Restaurants and food manufacturers are required by law to follow federal, state, and local health codes and regulations, and they have a responsibility to consumers to ensure that they are not injured when eating their meals or products. Both restaurants and food manufacturers may be found to be liable in personal injury cases when an individual is injured by a foreign object.
