Shoppers Drug Mart - Front store supervisor - female

The female (approx 50 years old) front store Supervisor in North Bay at the Lakeshore Drive location is extremely rude and condescending and should not be the supervisor. She is extremely rude, unhelpful, and vile. On numerous occasions she's been called to the front regarding questions, and she is very rude and not customer focused. She has despised the flyer when we are buying a gas card and saying that we can't receive the optimum points as in the flyer. She has refused to return a $50 brand new unopened child's electronic toy saying that it was a seasonal item even though it clearly wasn't as I purchased it in electronics, and she refused to talk to me about it. She is very abrasive. As well, today she refused to except a coupon from the Lindt chocolates that I purchased there to go towards the Lindt chocolate box that I was purchasing there. It was a coupon specific for Shoppers. I purchased my $300 of items, and then asked again to speak to her asking if she'd honor the shoppers drug mart specific coupon if I purchased yet another box to apply the coupon to as I let the transaction through as she was refusing to apply the coupon. She rudely and loudly asked me where I got the coupon from. She asked if I took it from a product from the shelf without paying for it and insinuating that I pretty well stole a coupon! She just saw me purchase the original chocolates with the coupon attached! She was still refusing to accept the coupon and spent an extended period reading the coupon until finally realizing that she had no keg to stand on to deny the coupon. I stopped going to SDM for a couple months from her previous rude interactions when asking her a product question. I went back and again I am completely blow away that this is the supervisor representing shoppers. The Clerk was very apologetic and helpful but that supervisor is the farthest thing from being customer focused or SDM focused. I have further things to say but I'm sure you can appreciate my concern. If she is treating the customers like that, I'm certain she is also bullying the staff. I could tell by the interactions. I've been a loyal customer to SDM!

Shoppers Drug Mart - self serve checkouts and rude store manager

July 19, 2019
I visited the store to pick up a birthday card. When I was ready to pay there were only self checkouts available. I do NOT use self check out for a variety of reasons and I know many others who also do not - mostly on principle. We live in a small city which does not have a wealth of jobs.

I walked to where I saw a clerk go behind the till but when I approached she left. I asked an employee on the floor if there was a till open. She motioned to the till I had just left where there were now customers with the clerk who was ringing in a variety of items for them. I waited in line and after 2 customers were finished purchasing miscellaneous items, I approached. She rudely told me to go to self check out that she wasn't waiting on me because she was photos.?

I went back to the other till and a clerk appeared and told me to go to self checkout. I told her no. She walked to self checkout and rang it in for me.

I asked to speak to the manager who was not friendly! He said the company doesn't care. I said ok I thought you would want to know there was no clerk available for quite awhile. He said I was the problem. "People like you are the problem!" The company doesn't care if you don't like self checkouts. I said, "No I think you are the problem" and I left the store.

I do not care for this treatment. This is the third time in a row that I have not been happy with the service at this store. I am quite capable of shopping online but I like to support businesses in my community. But not if I am going to be treated in this manner, that my business is not important and that I as a customer, am the problem.

Yours sincerely.,
Dr D. Brackenreed
