Shoppers Drug Mart exorbitant pricing

Can someone please explain to me why an anti-perspirant should cost over $8.00 in your BLOOR street Toronto store, whereas exactly the same product costs $5.99 in a local convenience store.
I understand that Shoppers gives points but the product was over 25% more expensive than a convenience store!
I imagine that I'm not the first to ask this question but I'd like to know if ALL products are marked up this way so that I can know to avoid buying anything there in future.

I have a serious concern regarding my invoice/receipt after reviewing my receipt. The cashier said it is NOT the 1st time this has taken place where the system automatically adds a charge like this randomly to customers bills and seems to happen when there is several items purchased. This alone is outrageous. I had a phantom charge of $6.99 + tax appear on my bill calling itself, " Kodak Processi". I had made NO such purchase, had to go and stand in line with 10 other people as only one cashier and she refused to take me before they were rung out. I would like to know how this even happens? how it has not been corrected? and why the cashier not alarmed says it has happened before? This is surely illegal not to mention an extreme pain to have to go back and deal with on my time. Shoppers Drug Mart purchase of plan b

On Sunday night I attended your location at Queen st and John St in Toronto to purchase Plan B. It is already embarrassing enough to purchase it but, than the pharmacist who helped me didn't help the situation. I told her my concern I had unprotected sex with my partner however, wasn't sure if I should be purchasing it as I had just began my menustration and perhaps I didn't need it. She couldn't answer that question so I said it's ok I'll just purchase it to be on the safe side. As I'm paying for it she than says you know the pamphlet inside will tell you factors of it being ineffective and I said yes I have to take it within 72 hrs .. she said no not that your weight does play a factor in it's effectiveness. I than asked it does? She said yes if you weigh more than 81 lbs or I think kilograms. I than said no it doesn't I've never read that and I've taken it before and it's always worked for me. She proceeded to be rude. I said I'm ok please give me the medication I have no concerns and walked out. I was with my partner at the time and I found her to be very unprofessional and insensitive. One yes I am a curvy woman but not obese by any means. It's embarrassing enough to purchase plan B because you're airing out a mistake but to be attacked for not being slim was absolutely insensitive. The best part is that whole weight thing was not outlined anywhere on the pamphlet. I read online it was from a European study however, not proven. I feel that pharmacists should conduct themselves in a more professional manner and should have more knowledge on something that I'm sure is commonly purchased especially in the downtown core. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and a reminder that if you're not stick thin there's a stigma attached to it. I felt it was only right to file a complaint so that someone does not go through the same experience. It wasn't right and I was provided inaccurate information. I would appreciate the matter looked into further so again no one gets left feeling embarrassed like I did.

Last week in a Shoppers Drug Mart store on 52st / Memorial Dr. in Calgary, Alberta, I was in an aisle looking for something when I heard in a low sound over the speaker system the Islamic call to prayer. I couldn't believe it, so to make sure I wasn't hearing things I asked the (white female) clerk and she said "oh no, we don't play that here."

But a day or so later I was at a Tim Horton's (you will notice that the majority of their staff are Muslim wearing Muslim attire- hijab etc) and again I heard this Islamic music over their speaker system. They seem to play this music in small clips, not full songs. Perhaps TH head office is doing this to remind all the Muslim guests sitting around that it is their time to prayer? Or perhaps it's something to do will niche marketing to Muslims who may be illiterate in English?

This needs to stop as this is offensive to non-Muslims and probable former Muslims.

Shoppers Drug Mart salesperson "katie"

I would like to lodge a formal grievance against one the sales person named "KATIE"
concerning the unprofessional behaviour and verbal intimidation that she's practicing on the sales floor.
My wife together with my 2 kids (4 & 2 years old) was at store no. 302 this morning September 23rd around 11am. My wife was browsing facial creams on the H&B sections of the store. My youngest which is 2 yrs old had a sample of products on her hand, then a lady came to them named KATIE on her shoppers name badge told her this exact words " I don't want that to get lost!".
My wife replied to her that she's still with the kids and will not let them bring it home without paying it. For my wife, her tone and thoughts looks like my kids will steal the products which Is not going to happen. Besides they are still shopping, and was like a few minutes when they arrived at the store.
Katie didn't even ask even a store protocol of my wife needs anything, or if she was looking for something specific, did not even offer a help or greeted them when she saw them. My wife felt insulted and verbally intimidated. I dont know if you encourage your salesperson to behave in this manner but she found it unacceptable and unprofessional.
I would like her disciplined and rethought the etiquette of a proper sales pitch. No salesperson should treat all their customers in such a manner.
I trust the discretion of this company and promptness in addressing this matter as soon as possible. I would like a apology from your company and assurance that none of your employees will act in such rude and inconsiderate way again.

Shoppers Drug Mart service provided by pascal the store manager in central saanich or saanichton

I was told by your Sydney location I was able to return or exchange my life brand scale as it had a lifetime warranty. As I lived closer to the saanichton location I called this store and the lovely girl said I was able to return it as well. As I purchased this scale close to a year ago I did not have the receipt and that was not a problem for the Sydney location but when I arrived in your store in central saanich it was a problem. The manager Pascal was called. He listened to my request to exchange my scale and said I needed my receipt. When I explained that shoppers was the only one that sold this brand there was no way I purchased it else where. He said I needed proof of purchase and a rule is a rule and it's for everyone. He was basically accusing me of stealing the broke scale and wanting to trade if for a working one. I told him this was the second time I have had a difficult time at this location and would not return, he proceeded to walk away said "what ever". I am furious and will never go back. When I mentioned my experience to the ladies in the Sydney location they were very empathetic. Even the customer behind Mentioned she had a bad experience with him. I felt threatened by him and afraid if he finds out that I wrote this message he will act on it. This man should not be I charge of customers or staff. He is a task oriented person with zero people skills, he needs to work in The stock room only as he is doing anyways, I cannot believe such a large company has not acted on this and cleaned up the management in this location. I came across comments on line while looking for this web site that said saanichton was the worse location on the island. There are so many talented managers out there and staff, how can you afford to have this happen in this tough and competitive economy.

Shoppers Drug Mart gift cards

Hello,
I recently purchased five $100 iTune gift cards only to later realize that I was being scammed. I have reached out to iTunes to let them know of this incident and they have disabled the account on their end where the iTune gift cards were used. They have advised that I reach out to the retailer where I purchased the gift cards to see if I can obtain a refund. I have the receipts, the iTune gift cards as well the my email correspondence with iTunes themselves regarding my situation.

Please help.

Shoppers Drug Mart no rainchecks issued for 2-day specials

If I make a special trip to take advantage of your flyer's 2-day specials - and then get there and the shelves are empty, I do not expect the checkout girl to snippily ask me if I asked the staff in the storeroom if there was any stock back there... Not my job to chase down your staff. She phoned the storeroom and was told they were sold out... So, I asked for a raincheck. She advised me that they do not issued rainchecks for 2-day specials... Well, my question to you is, "why the hell not?"
You issue rainchecks for items in the rest of the flyer...
This is nothing but a "bait and switch"... Shame on you. If you are going to have a 2-day sale, have the stock available in the store, and if you are so incompetent that you cannot supply the item, then issue a raincheck... Not my problem that you can't supply the item advertised in your flyer... Shame on you for such an underhanded practice...

Shoppers Drug Mart the service I received from a manager at the store

Good Afternoon,
I am writing about the service I received at my local shoppers drug mart store. I am extremely upset as I had purchased 2 lipsticks for my moms birthday in August and she did not end up liking one of them and had asked me to return 1/2 (unopened, unused) I had left for a work trip shortly after, for 2 weeks and did not get a chance to return it. I got back yesterday, and went in today to obtain a store credit as I am well aware of the fact that it's been over 30 days for a refund or exchange. The beauty specialist on cash was extremely nice and understanding, she said in order to issue a store credit she would need manager/supervisor approval, she called over her manager, Letoya, who immediately said no. I explained to her that I am not asking for a refund or exchange and that a store credit would allow me to purchase something else. She said they don't issue store credits after 30 days and walked away.. from past experience, I am well aware that store credits are normally issued if there is no receipt or if it's passed the 30 day policy. To Letoyas point, why would somebody ask for a store credit within the 30 days? If she is saying they only issue it within 30 days, why would someone ask for a store credit, one would just exchange or return then. The reason someone would be asking for a store credit is only if the 30 day policy has passed.
I am extremely disappointed at the lack of effort and attempt Letoya made to satisfy a customer, she was very curt with me and simply said no and walked away. The beauty specialist (I believe her name is Ariba) actually picked up on the rudeness and apologized to me on her behalf and said "normally they would issue it but I guess sometimes they don't". I even phone up Ariba prior to writing this to confirm the managers name and she is aware that I am filing a complaint.
I would really appreciate it if somebody could please look into this matter and assist me in obtaining a store credit. I have attached a copy of my receipt below, item SMASHBOX LIPST.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

In the morning of September 20th I spoke with a member of the pharmacy team to get one of my prescriptions filled. She told me it would be ready at 4:30. I got busy with making dinner and my husband offered to pick it up on the way home. He had worked an 11 hour day and when he got to the pharmacy at 7:30 pm the prescription was not even filled. Now I can understand if this happened once or twice but this had happened only in this store about 6 times in the last year. We never had this problem at any other Shopper's nor Costco where we used to go before we moved. When my husband expressed his frustration a girl named Valentini was very rude and snooty to him. When he got home he was upset so I phoned there and Valentini answered the phone and gave me attitude as well. I asked when the manager was there and she stuck me on hold after 10 mins I hung up because I knew no one was picking the phone up again. I have also been on hold for as long as 15 minutes calling this store only to hang up and call back and get answered immediately so they are just not getting back to people on hold. This has been my worse experience with any Shopper's. My mother worked at one until she was 85 and my cousin is a buyer for one of the stores. Their store would never treat a customer as this girl treated my husband or myself when I called. I hope the owner Shin either retrains this girl or just gets rid of her and her rudeness. I will be calling him on Tuesday and transferring my prescriptions elsewhere.

Shoppers Drug Mart advertising scam

In your cambridge flyers it has the Nintendo switch on sale and eligible for the 20x the points event. I went to every shoppers even called into customer service, every shoppers tha was supposed to have them for this sale hasn't gotten a shipment all week. I believe this is false advertising and a scam to get customers in the store. I went to 6 stores and NOT ONE has anything also this was already at 9 am.

Shoppers Drug Mart canada post outlet/floor manager

This Grand Falls-Windsor Shoppers Store is a complete Joke and so is the Older Lady Postal worker there. I ship a lot of stuff through Canada Post and the Postal Worker(senior Lady) at this location doesn't even know how to do her job and knows nothing about Canada Post. This Older Lady stood there and argued with me that permanent stamps are worth 90 cents.(and this is not the first time she has argued with me about this) I explained to her that permanent stamps are face value of whatever the current price of stamps are. so that means permanent stamps at the current time are worth $1.05. This lady yelled at me and argued with me and was trying to tell me I didn't have sufficient postage on the envelopes ( because she was valuing the permanent stamps at 90 cents instead of $1.05) Again, I explained to her how permanent stamps work and how they are face value of whatever the current stamp price is. I further explained so she would understand, and stated, for example, if stamps went up to $1.48 tomorrow, that permanent stamp is worth $1.48 because they are worth whatever the current stamp prices are, and its got nothing to do with how much you pay for them.(if you buy a 10 pack its $9) She yelled at me some more and then left and went and got the floor manager (Matt) that was on shift. I stood there and explained it to him(Matt), and while I was doing that, the Lady started yelling at me again and saying she refuses to provide me postal services. She told me I was stupid and that I should go get an education, which I found hilarious. I graduated high school 6 months early with 42 credits and only needing 36, (so I didn't have to go to school anymore from January to June because I didn't need any more education and I had 6 more credits than I needed by January) so I'm pretty sure I don't need to be educated having an IQ of 148, but that older lady needs to learn how to do her job, and if you work at a post office and don't know how much a stamp is worth, I would say she is the one that needs some education! I told her if she doesn't know how to do her job, she shouldn't have the job. Then the floor Manager Matt kicked me out of the store and told me to get out of the store right away! So I got refused postal services and got kicked out of the store because I told them how much stamps were worth. I SUGGEST YOU DONT USE THIS GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR SHOPPERS DRUG MART LOCATION AND PEOPLE SHOULD BOYCOTT IT! Go get your medications and beauty supplies at dominion or Wal-Mart because this Store IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND ABSURD and the Workers there are not knowledgable and are rude, arrogant, and condescending to customers!

Shoppers Drug Mart hair dye

The lack of respect and accommodation done by the manager and the the cashier was absolutely appalling. I tried to return unopened hair dye without a receipt, I was told over the phone that I could use my store card to return it, and when I came into the store that was not the case. Kanji was beyond rude to me, she then proceeded to call over a manager that had no manners. They said " sense the system doesn't show the hair dye bought on that day we can't return it" when I made 2 purchases that day and neither of them were showing on the screen. I purchased both items on September 17 2019. I will NEVER come back to this specific store because of the lack of respect of the staff members here. I was never offered any kind of coupon or a store voucher or a discount for the mishap. The customer service is absolutely disgusting and I will be telling others my experience.

Shoppers Drug Mart post office

Hello, my name is mary ann chantal tucker. I would like to start with saying thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Your work is very much appreciated. Customer care is one of the most important roles for a company and when the that care is breached from a employe who is the face of your company it looks so very bad and then you lose clients. I have never had a complaint with this franchise until friday sept 13/2019. Its now thursday and 8 cant seem to shake off what happened. I am still feeling very disrespected and embarrased by the lack of empathy from one of your employres. I originally got my purchase at thr st-laurent mall. I went to your store to get a birthday present for my sister in the usa. I had a wonderful young lady help me choose my gift set. I was happy because it was a lovely gift plus I got 20x the points and I love my pc points! I had spoken with this young lady who helped me about my sister in the usa who I have not seen in 2 years so this present was of importance to. Me. You see I have just been released from hospital after 5 cide bleu and finding out I have 10 tumors. The only reason I am saying that part is ti show you the value this gift was to my sister knowing that I have been brought back to life so many times in the past few months and she needed something special to remember me by in case the next time is the last time. I purchased her 3 small perfumes that also had 3 bath salts all in 1 set. It was perfect! On my way home I started second guessing the scent I got her so I stopped at the shoppers by my home on montreal rd close to vanier parkway. Again I got a beautiful young lady who tried to help find something else in a set no matter the price! We did not find anything else really that I thought she would like so I went to the back and got in line at the post office. I needed to get this out assap because her birthday was the 16th and being in hospital in a coma I did not get a chance to get her anything. By the rime it was my turn the man seemed very agitated and angry. Im not sure if it was because I was the 3ed person back to back he had or if he was just being rude because he was having a bad day. I was asking the worker questuins on the best way to send it. After about 1 minute he began his attitude again. I continued to smile and be polite but he just did not care. He rhen looked at me and said well is that perfum? I said yes and I showed him my gift I was so proud of. He rolled his eyes at me and started speaking pretty loud and said well yoy aint sending that in the mail! I was confused and looked at my husband. You see I lost some brain function after my coma so my husband is always there to remind me of things or even ve my voice. I ask the man why I vould not send my package and again he raised his voice at me like I was a 2 year old stupid person. Then he kinda shouted well its flammable ya know.. What did you expect. I immediatly teared up I felt so embarrassed because of all the other customers that were around us. I walked away crying and hurt first because of the shame I felt for not knowing any better and second for the discrimination I felt because im dying and lost my memory. Its not my fault im sick and I walked away with my tail between my legs. I could not even lift my head up because I did not want anybody seeuing my tears. My husband brought me back to the cosmetics dept so I could return the gift set because I had no use for it now. The young lady seen I was shaking up and asked me if I was ok. I told her yes but I would not be back at shoppers. She asked me why and I told her. At this tine tge manager was there to do the void and refund me so she heard what I said as well. Funny thing is they also both did not know we could not ship that gift set to the states. Unfortunatlly I also lost all my points as well and that really upset me because I was missing 2 dollars to be able to get my points so I bought another 20 dollar concealer to hide my darken sunk in dying eyes. The face of a company is so very crutial and you never know what somebody is going through in their life so kindness is always importand. You also never know who you could be talking to. My family owns butterball turkey. I could go get my own shoppers franchise if I want. I feel terrible wrighting this letter and disturning your time you could be giving to another customer that needs your help as well as I had to have this aweful treatment in my head to remind menygat I wont be around much longer. I was noy going to send this but I just could not shake my feelings off. If he was able to treat me this way I cant think of how he would treat someine who can not advocate for themselves. Shoppers Drug Mart postal service

I went in for an In person ID verification but the postal worker refused to accept my lease agreemenr as proof of residency as the address does not match my govenrment issued photo ID. When I went to another Shoppers Canada Post, they informed me that I can use the lease however, the original worker had deleted my request.

This has costed me extra time out of my day and has now delayed my potential to be fully hired as an independent contractor. It is going to take me an additional 10 days to get the matter fully resolved and get my background check delivered.

The staff is clearly not well trained, as both present parties were unable to help me at the store on 82nd Ave, Edmonton.

Shoppers Drug Mart life brand vitamin d3 1000 iu

!Have the worst Customer Experience with pharmacy department!. Talked with pharmacy 403 272 2848. Asked if tje medicine has any meat products? A common question thousands of vegetarian question asked from their pharmacist. I had contacted many other pharmacies and received helped except Shoppers Drug Mart. I had been told they do not know it ask the manufacturer there is a phone number on bottle. There is no manufacturer number on it. Was shocked how come Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacists do not know what they are selling. At first thought am speaking to a person who don't know about it Requested to speak with supervisor was been told already speaking to it. The female representative told me that she had customers so she can't help me. Her English listening skills are very low not only she misunderstood had to explain multiple times. She hang up on me. After a long wait almost half an hour call received no help and rude customer experience. I cannot forget for rest of life and will think twice before using Shoppers Drug Mart. Please hire or have educated and professional service providers. If this is the standard of pharmacy supervisor I don't expect much from the company. In the end if you do not want to help that is fine but you have no right to be rude.

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service and I nearly getting hurt

I was at your store on sept 14 19 around 9pm. Anyway when I walked to the aisle to grab my item I never saw that someone has spilled some liquid on the floor and I nearly slipped, I was mad that the clerk never put the hazard sign in front but on the left hand side of the spill, anyway so I was a bit irate at what happened. I decided to pay at the self scan. The older clerk and some s. asian clerk both started talking about me. I was still there so I got mad that they didn't care that I nearly fell but was mad at me and started talking behind my back. So I the older lady said watch how I'm taking etc. I said to her if I fell I would sued your store and I proceeded to walk out. Nice customer service. They don't care what happened but more concerned about the reputation of their store, very unimpressed about this store, Nordel way. I should have went to 70 and Scott road way better service, thanks for the horrible customer service once again you have provided your customers, when I went home I had to take meds cause me slipping tweaked my back.

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

I went into the shoppers drug mart for hair dye at around 930pm on September 14, 2019 with a friend and we were being followed around in the store since we walked in the door by the lady working in cosmetics didn't think much of it and carried on with our shopping we were looking at the colognes and perfumes that were on sale and trying to decide on which one to purchase and I had picked one and had it in my hand with the intent to buy it along with the other items I came into the store for then the cosmetics lady and the guy working denis had stopped me and my friend and accusing us of stealing wanting to check our pockets and her purse I have never felt so disrespected or humiliated in my life I gave them no reason to think this or to treat me this way I have been a loyal paying customer for years and when I asked them what makes them feel the need to harass and treat people this way she responded with it's my job! I'm pretty sure treating people with such disrespect is not one of her job descriptions I am very upset and hurt by this experience and I pray no one else has to experience what I had to this evening

Shoppers Drug Mart prescription

Wow.. 1014 complaints and 10 resolved. Makes me think a complaint is a waste of my time and yours. Perhaps given your resolution success rate you should close your complaints department.
I transferred my prescriptions to shoppers when Costco moved to a less convenient location;. I dropped a script off on Wednesday for a Friday pickup. I should have received 200 tablets. To my surprise I paid for 200 tables.. $650.00.. and when I got home I had 30 and an iou for 170. So.. I go back to the pharmacy.. oh.. sorry forgot to tell you we were out. Looking at going back to Costco and certainly notifying my insurance provider.

Shoppers Drug Mart terazosin hcl 2mg

I have always used this Shoppers drug mart location for all my prescriptions because it is located close to my home, but for the past year or so I've been having problems filling this particular prescription, every time I tried to fill this prescription they would tell me they don't have the full amount, today September 12th at 9:15am I called to to fill the prescription and they told me they have only part of the amount, I got upset and told the person on the phone I'm going to complain to the head office, so when I went to get my prescription I got the full amount and told me it had just came in, ( how convenient) after telling me they do not have the full amount. Sorry but I think something is not right with that Shoppers drug mart location, and I suggest someone should look into it.

Shoppers Drug Mart elastic ankle bandage

Hello,

I would like to make a complaint about a purchase I did last night and brought it back the next day but they didn't want to reimburse me because the manager (Arliya) if I remember said it was already use and refuse to do anything. I always shop at this location for a couple of years I won't recommend to anyone anymore to go there and have a bad service.I won't buy anything anymore at that location.
