Shoppers Drug Mart hair dye

Three days after buying hair dye from the store, I tried to use it. I say 'tried' because the product was obviously old & outdated. Instead of the color coming out of the tube in a nice, easy flow - I had ro squeeze SO hard, it started rupturing the tube. The next day I tried to take it back to the store. I say 'tried' again because both the clerk & the manager refused to do anything for me without a receipt. They could have replaced the box with some other hair dye. Instead they lost a 'valued' customer all over the sake of $12.

Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy - overcharged for a prescription

I have been working with the owner of the Toronto Cabbagetown pharmacy (Doug Chow; store 0833) for 9 months now, on a prescription that I was overcharged by close to $800. Just last week, the owner informed me that Shoppers would not refund me the amount that I had overpaid. I have been told that there is nothing that they can do about this, even though Doug Chow (the owner) acknowledged that the cost had in fact gone down by over half on the day PRIOR to me filling the prescription. However, since the pharmacy had simply not gotten around to adjusting the unit price that the customer is charged in the system, I am now left holding the bag.

I spend literally thousands of dollars EVERY YEAR at the pharmacy, and in spite of being promised several times that I would be compensated, and stringing me along for close to a year (and I visited the pharmacy dozens of times during this time) - clearly waiting for me to "forget about it, " - I was finally told that I wouldn't be compensated.

This is completely unacceptable, and runs counter to the claim of customer service that your brand purports to represent.

The details of the prescription are:

RX # 9457562
Name: Blair Ariel Misha Magil
Cost: $1534.44
Amount recovered: $759.77

The prescription was dispensed on November 7th. On November 6th, the prescription cost dropped by over ½, and that is what ClaimSecure compensated me at. According to Doug (the owner), since I didn't use the electronic service to submit to benefits, there was nothing that he was willing to do. I was unable to use an electronic submission, since at that point I wasn't working and had to manually submit to my spouse's benefits provider.

Needless to say, I am furious, and ClaimSecure will be following up on their own. Please note that if I am not compensated for these lost funds, I will simply refill the prescriptions I have in your system, but I will NEVER step foot in ANY Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy again - and I will encourage everyone I know to steer clear. By my calculation, in the past year myself and my spouse (Antonio Valletta) have spent approximately $13, 000. I suspect that in the coming years, that pace of spending will not be dropping.

As far as I'm concerned, you have committed theft - and whether you are "technically" covered by whatever accounting or inventory system you have in place - everyone at the pharmacy has acknowledged that Shoppers Drug Mart has essentially profited by an obscene degree on a medication which I need in order to continue living. The fact that your company has known for almost a full year about this, and continually strung me along, when clearly there was never any intention of compensating me, only adds salt to the wound. I am a very busy person, working full time at a Bay Street law firm. I don't have time to constantly chase after people who call themselves professionals, but are nothing more than glorified crooks.

I expect resolution of this matter within the next two weeks; feel free to contact me by telephone at [protected]. If this isn't resolved, I will be escalating to the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Thank you,
Ariel Magil

Shoppers Drug Mart store clerk violating my human rights

My names serena

I've Been shopping at this shoppers for 5.5trs as I live 2 blocks away.. I have no car so its convenient to walk the 5 mins there and back . Never had an issue until now.. the other day wednesday august 14th at about 730pm I walked into shoppers in marda loop calgary, ab, not even 5 mins if being there I notice a store employee was eye me up hard, I was wearing short jean shorts, a tank top carrying my wallet and phone with my sunglasses on bcuz they are prescription sunglases. I Picked out a couple items from cosmetics and proceeded to the next aisle where I noticed her again watching me... it was when I walked to the next aisle I heard the announcement saying "security walk around, code red" ( I was wearing a red shirt) at this moment I realized she must have gotten a suspicious vibe from me.. not sure why.. maybe bcuz I'm metis nationality? Maybe it was my sunglasses... maybe it was jus a random watching due to the cosmetics I had in hand? I went to the back of the store where I noticed the security guard extremely close by "straightening shelves" but was always a 5ft-7ft distance away, always being between me and the products.. I jus had to get laundry soap and cat food but then went to the aisle with feminine products along with products relating to safe sex and intimate gels ect... the security guy was no more than 5ft away the whole time with the chick being at the end of each aisle I was on. I needed to get some sensitive items in this aisle but was proving to be difficult as it was impossible for me to look at the products to decide which I wanted exactly... very private items to shop for and was really wanting my privacy so i can finish the items on my list. I was embarrassed and getting frustrated when i noticed the security guard grabbing one item while poking at a few others then going back in direction where he was straightening the items he just pushed around and put the item he took ...back on the shelf.. CLEARLY pretending.

Finaly the store clerk that had been watching me this whole time... started to walk down the aisle and at this time there was no other customers.. I figured was a good time to adress what was so clearly obvious... I asked them politely if there was anything I was doing that was inappropriate or cause concern ? If there was anything I can do to ease their thoughts... and all she said was "we're just doing our job"

I asked why they are following me and she claimed they werent it was jus coincidence. I told her she can look in my wallet as I opened it up showing her over 200$ cash supporting my defense of any accusational assumptions and showing clear motive for NOT having a reason to steal anything as I had the money to pay for it... she backed away laughing at me as it was ridiculous of me to show her my wallet obviously denying the fact that I was making it clear that her suspicions of me were wrong..

again every time I said anything asked anything she replied with "jus doin my job"

I asked her what part of her job discription is she performing at that moment.. she didnt reply. I asked politely if I could be left alone suggesting to check my bags and receipt at the door before I leave... and she jus kept on saying shes jus doin her job. So I went and sat down at the pharmacy waiting area, she was still standing 5ft in front of me.. looking at me.. looking around but not leaving me alone. I told her I'd wait till my rights are being respected, specifically my personal space and pick out sensitive items while respecting my privacy... but for some reason she had a hard on hate for me and she could not explain her reasoning or any explanation behind her behaviour.

she then says to me" if yer not shopping, leave the store"

I replied with I'm waiting for a prescription, still she told me to leave again.

I told her " I'd leave once I'm left alone so I can grab the remaining 3 items on my list, then pay for them where u can check everything before I leave the store"

At this time every customer in the store is well aware if the little situation going on including the other staff members.. I was extremely embarrassed, humiliated. I've never been treated like that before. It's an ugly feeling to be treated as a criminal except I didnt do anything wrong. Never upset anyone, was never disrespectful to any of showcase set ups... or causing an disruption... NOTHING! I was just trying to shop at my favorite store! 😢

I was shaking to the point where I had tears in my eyes.. thinking hard on why this was happening to me.. why she couldn't give me an answer to my questions of, "why are u following me", "what am I doing that's upsetting or concerning u"

nothing.. she then said shes gonna call the cops to escort me out since i was not shopping even tho I told her once again.. I CANT SHOP WHEN U GUYS ARE PREVENTING ME TO SHOP BY STANDING BETWEEN ME AND THE PRODUCTS I NEED?!?!?

At this point I'm boiling mad... I had to meet a friend for coffee that I was already late bcuz of this ridiculous incident so I was speed walking out of the store and there she was speed walking behind me by maybe 1 to 2 ft.. basically rushing me out I asked her why she was following me so closely and again she said "I'm jus doing my job) I snapped and dropped the basket of items I had in the store at her ft telling her "then do yer job and put these back" and I left.

Tonight, august 21st.. a week after that first interaction... I walk into shoppers and I'm minding my own business once again.. was comparing to face cream products when again roughly only 5 mins of being there, this same walks up to me again asking me if I remembered her from the other night.

I said "no, I dont pay attention to ppl like u, I come here to get products so my focus is on that"

she then says to me " yer not allowed here anymore, u have to leave now"

again I asked why with that same snarky smirk she only said " bcuz they said u cant come in here anymore"

I reply" but why? What did I do?

Again she couldnt not give me a reason. She then threatened me again with calling the police. I should have stuck around, so the cop could tell me what my rights are, why theirs was, and more so if shed be able to give the police a reason as to why I was no longer aloud in the store.

I'm incredibly frustrated treated incredibly unfairly. Humiliated and now I cant go there. I'm a 33yr old single mother who goes to school and works part time. I take proud of the money I earn bcuz I work dam hard for it. And when I cant afford an item I want... guess what... that's what paydays are for! People who steal are not honourable ppl. And now I have no idea as to why i was being treated so much like a criminal when i know i didnt do anything wrong or even acting suspiciously. The fact that she couldnt be real with me and have mature conversation where she could express her concerns and ask me or even tell me why or this is the reason she got a bad vibe.. ANYTHING!?!?!

I HAVE NO VEHICLE AND the next closest shoppers is an hours long walk away. I got into shoppers at least 3 times a week! Over the course of 5.5yrs I've spent thousands of dollars here and am a huge fan of the optimum points system. I dont cry very often.. but tonight when I got back home I completely broke down and bawled.

Can anyone look into this please, view the surveillance videos if u can to see how my testimony lines up with what's on the video... to suggest a different protocol when dealing with loss prevention would be nice.. I understand there are alot of ppl who do steal from there.. the amount of times I've been in shoppers I've witnessed several moments of ppl actively stealing with a huge confrontation and at some times scary and worrisome situations... so I get it... i understand.. but why not wait by the door and ask to see receipt and search bags before they leave... and theirs would be caught red handed... and for the people who are INNOCENT and jus there to shop, my human rights arent being violated as I'm being stalked and purposely making it difficult for me to grab the items i need to the point of harassing someone who hasn't done a single thing to deserve that type of treatment.

The lady i was speaking about is roughly 5ft tall.. extremely short hair, less that an inch long in hair length type short, dark black mrrhair shes in her mid 40-50s. I didnt catch her name bcuz she doesnt have a name tag.

My number is 587.969.2931 if u have any questions or info on this. Please lemme know if anything else regarding this issue.

Thank u for yer time, and yer effort is greatly appreciated! Thank u and take care

I am sorry you went through this. As a cosmetic manager I have had to keep an eye on people who I thought were suspicious. I know this sounds silly but when someone comes in the store with sunglasses, most times it's because theft is about to occur. Also, when a person gets very defensive it's usually because they came to steal. That is most likely why you were profiled. It was the perfect storm unfortunately. However, sometimes we are wrong and when that happens I feel terrible because it's horrible to be treated badly when it is so completely undeserved. I see that this happened quite some time ago and the location that this happened is not in your complaint. I would suggest if you haven't done so already, to speak to the store manager. When we have a customer complaint, we are able to look at our cameras to see the entire interaction. This way we get the whole picture. You can always contact shoppersdrugmart head office. I hope you are well and have had better experiences with retail.

Shoppers Drug Mart the staff

An employee (Caucasian) called the security guard on my visibly ethnic boyfriend because he was lost and looked lost, as he was looking for me at the store. The security guard then followed him and continued to do so even after the situation was apparent to him that he was looking for me and he found me. Then he started getting closer to my boyfriend and I, eavesdropping on our private conversation, watched us kiss and hug unaware of him. Then I go to checkout and realize he is follow me and leaving no room for personal space, he could see me use my card, he could see my items and when I noticed and asked him to please not stand so close to me and we have done nothing wrong he failed to oblige. I need to mention that to alert the guard she didn't go up to him and speak instead she made a loud PA announcement and both her and the security guard handled the situation very horribly and it seems very targeted because they would not stop staring at us despite the situation being obvious that he was looking for me then found me. So basically my very harmless and mind you defenseless boyfriend who just wanted to get out of there because he was uncomfortable and didn't want to cause any trouble was racially profiled and I suffered from the same invasion of personal space as a result.
Now what are the steps are you taking as a company to fix this?

Shoppers Drug Mart sour coffee cream

On My roommate purchased 4 one litre cartons of coffee cream at this location. We still had some in an open carton in the fridge so we did not open it until the next day.

Despite being well before the expiry date, I opened the first one the next morning and wasted my cup of coffee because the cream was sour. I opened the next one and smelled it first only to find it was sour too.

In the end we found that all 4 cartons were sour and still had over 2 weeks left until the best before date. If this was the first time we experienced this, it would still be frustrating, but the same thing happened very recently when I purchased the same product.

On the previous occasion, I returned it the same day and decided to go elsewhere as they keep the dairy products in an open cooler that is clearly not sufficient.

We are a busy household and didn't have time to take it back right away, however my roommate's daughter went back a few days later, still well before the expiry date, and was told that we could not be refunded as we did not bring it back on the same day?!

Who opens 4 cartons of cream the day they buy them and why is it relevant if the product is spoiled and the expiry date is still over a week away?! Furthermore, why is it our responsibility to drop everything in our busy lives to rush back, when your company sold us rotten products? I've never heard anything so absurd in my life and as a long time customer, I will now be finding other places to purchase anything and everything I purchased from you in the past!

I'm equally disturbed that there is no contact information on the website for the corporation to be contacted about these issues. Does Shopper's Drug Mart not care at all about these things? I will give the company 1 week to respond before I share my story with the health department and on social media. I don't want anyone else to make the mistake of being ripped off by a company that sells rotten product and refuses to take responsibility for their errors!

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy's

I went to go get my prescription injection from pharmacy. They told me to wait for 20 mins. After 20 mins they told me that they don't have it in stock and they can order it for me the next day. I had to get injection the same day but I decided to wait until the next day. They told me that they would give me a call once it arrived. 2 weeks later I got no call and they kept my dam prescription too. How can someone be so inconsiderate specially if its about someone health.

Shoppers Drug Mart scanning code of practice

Bentley one month ago I purchased an item at the store. The shelf sale tag told me it was $4.99. When I got to the front it's scanned at $7.99. When I mentioned the scanning code of practice in Ontario they told me it was not applicable in this case because the tag that had been left was from last week. I work in retail and I know that any advertised price, regardless of the date on the tag is applicable to the scanning code of practice. it is not the job of the consumer to look at the date on the tag it is the job of the store to ensure the tag was taken down.

I had no idea. I waited to speak to the owner couple of weeks later and she reiterated the same thing insisting that shoppers drug Mart loss prevention told them that the date on the tag was expired therefore didn't apply.

Before I go any further up the chain I wanted to find out from you exactly what it is you're scanning code of practice is. There shouldn't be a question about it it should be the one that's advertised.

Shoppers Drug Mart service and attitude of cashier

August 18, 2019 at 8:56 PM

I was at the cashier checking out my items and the woman who works there had the most distasteful attitude. I had my optimum points card on my phone as a e-card and it wouldn't scan. Instead of helping me, she kept asking me to turn up the brightness. When this didn't work, she became irritate and inpatient and just said "you can come back anytime to do this." I proceeded to try to get it to scan and I finally made it work. She stood there being useless and continued to act impatient because there was a line waiting. She clearly hates her job and has a horrible attitude towards customers. Please provide her with some more training because she just made my experience at Shoppers horrible. I will not be going to this location anymore.

Shoppers Drug Mart complaint about store owner mina fahim

My husband and I come into this location everyday because it is closest to home, we get our prescriptions filled here as well as buy groceries sometimes and makeup. We were recently told that we are now not allowed to purchase anything in the store and can only come in for our perceptions. Their reasoning is because they accused us of opening perfume witch was already open this has made us feel very embarrassed and unwelcome

Shoppers Drug Mart staff members

I'm sick and tired of staff rudely telling customers they can't check their lottery tickets properly at the register. Umm. Yes I can! Staff told customers they have to check them at the little scanner. That is absolutely false! I have the right to get a receipt showing my ticket is either a winner or non-winner. Train your staff better! Just lazy!

Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy

On or about Wednesday August 7 2019 I went into store #1251 in Newcastle Ontario to pick up my girlfriends prescription. Upon going up to the pickup counter I was approached by a pharmacy technician who proceeded to hand my girlfriend and I a prohibition trespassing order in which stated that I and my girlfriend are not to enter the store or pharmacy again.
Naturally, I was upset as I was given no reason for this otherwise have had no problems at all using this pharmacy for about six years. Yes, I was upset but, I left the store because I didn't want to get arrested. This pharmacist told me that I.could speak to the owner of the store the next day.
I called the owner of the store (Seems Nail) and I was able to speak with her.
However, instead of getting a reason as to why we got the trespassing order, she told me that she didn't have to have any reason to kick us out of the store and she didn't have to tell me anything.
Myself and my girlfriend were humiliated in front of customers.
I kept asking for a reason and instead she threatened to call the cops if I called again. We've used this pharmacy since we moved to Newcastle without any issues.
My girlfriend takes stress related seizures and this was no exception because after the phone call to Seema(owner)/she had a full on seizure. The stress of it all caused this. I have no doubt.
This "lady" was so rude and cynical that there was no reasoning with her. She couldn't give me a reason as to why this was happening.
I want answers as I believe I'm entitled to. No explanation at all saying.she didnt need one.
I was embarrassed and felt like we were centered out.
Now, perhaps you can give her a call about customer courtesy. I want an apology for Heather for her seizure and to me for being so ignorant to me.
We've always been courteous and never had a problem. We are not trouble makers. I want answers and hope to get them.
You can contact me at [protected]. I don't want to go near the store again. I just want justice and to know what we did. Here in Canada, we have the right to know what we're being accused of other than simply not liking us. As I said, we have been going to Shoppers for years with no problems.
I'm very upset about this and I feel that we were getting picked on for whatever reason. I have no desire to speak to Seema again unless its an apology. I demand answers. There's no reason for what happened. We didn't do anything that should result in us being banned from the store.
Look forward to hearing from you as I hope you can get to the bottom of this. As I said, it was embarrassing and uncalled for.
Thank you and please respond to me. I need to know. Anyone in my situation would.

The items are clearly priced. Either you purchase 12 packages at the discounted price, or you pay the clearly posted single price. This is not a negotiation. It doesn't matter if you want one, or 7, or 8, and not 12. So what's your problem? I am a consumer from hell when it comes to being charged more than I should be. I am not a fan of Shoppers, and some of the games they play. However, in this situation Shoppers is clearly correct in their pricing policy, and its application. The fact that there was not 12 available for you to purchase, I will agree is vexing. And, I believe some reasonable accommodation should have been found; like prorating the price (Price for 12 divided by 12, then multiplied by the number of items remaining in their inventory- 7 as displayed.) However, and I am not a lawyer, I can see no legal reason that would compel them to prorate their price. And, though priced, Shoppers is still not under any legal obligation to sell them to you at the posted price. This fact, is brought to light through complicated contract laws that exist in Canada with respect to the offering of goods in a retail environment. I wish there was a concise way to explain this without resorting to all kinds of legal jargon. Again, I am not a lawyer, but have been assured common perceptions, about how sales between customers and stores work in Canada, are woefully misunderstood by most consumers.

In viewing the signs, I am unaware if there is a difference in colour between "SALE" tags, and "REGULAR" price tags. The fact that TWO identical tags exist, one on each display card, indicates that the price tag, even if claimed to be incorrect, was deliberately placed on both display cards. That said, I am curious as to what the 'regular' selling price for this item was. Looking around on the internet, it appears that these hair items are sold in a 'multi-pack' fashion, where the display card contains varying amounts of of product, depending on style. So, what we have here is not anything more than an incomplete retail item, being discounted because there is only a 'residual' quantity remaining. (No different than selling an open box of an item where some of a product has been removed; but the remaining product is perfectly usable) So, revisiting the situation, I am not even at all certain where the "1 for $2.99" was derived from.

Shoppers Drug Mart store employees

I worked late last night and needed to run to the store to grab a roll of paper towels and I walked in at 950 and the lights were almost all off as if they were closed and the employee very rudely said, "You know we're almost closed, right?" I walked back out. I was very aware of the time and understand the employees have families to get home to. I had 10 minutes and would've been in and out in a few minutes.

Shoppers Drug Mart beauty dept.

I am very disappointed with the way that the employee at this Shoppers treated and made me feel like I was a criminal/scamming. Yesterday I purchased my regular Jouviance face cream and like it so much, I decided to purchase the eye serum at a cost of 30.29 plus tax. These items were purchased at another Shoppers. This morning when I thought I would put the eye serum on but after continually pumping the bottle nothing was coming out. So I twisted the cap off and the bottle was empty with a lot of brown stuff on the bottom!
I decided to go right away to return it and exchange for another bottle. When I got to Shoppers and asked if I could exchange at any Shoppers, she said yes. When I explained the situation, she looked surprised and after opening the bottle, she asked me if I had optimum points and I said of course and gave her my card. She then explained to the other employee that she wanted to look at my history to check my previous purchases. This was even after I told her that I have never purchased the eye serum. After looking at my history, she was still reluctant but proceeded to the shelf to get another bottle. She told the other employee as she was walking away, I will explain later, it's too complicated.
She came back a few minutes later saying she didn't have any on the shelf which I truly believe was false. I said fine, I will go to the other Shoppers as I know they had a few. She said ok do that and then again whispered something to the other employee.
As a regular customer of Shoppers with over 200, 000 optimum points, I am very disappointed with how this employee made me feel. This employee should NOT be serving/dealing with customers in any sort of way! This will be the last time that I frequent your stores.

My son has a house on Broad Street close to the above Shoppers's Drug Mart. I told him what he needed for his washroom was a Scrubbing Bubbles brush. I usually purchase any Scrubbing Bubbles products at home here in Ottawa at Shoppers Drug Mart. At the Crown Street store they only had the refills for the Scrubbing Bubbles Wand and do not even have the wand on their inventory order sheet. How crazy is that? We tried to buy bags of ice there as well but do not carry that product as well. Might as well close this store if they cannot carry needed products.i tried another Shoppers Drug Mart in the area but they do not even carry the Scrubbing Bubbles refills. I never bothered to ask about ice after that. Might as well close all Shoppers Drug Mart stores in St John NB.

Shoppers Drug Mart staff

I went to this location today August 13th 2019 at 13.30- 13.45 pm to buy a men's perfume.
I wasn't sure which one I wanted so I looked for a staff member to help. There was no staff member available on the floor so I approached one of the ladies at the teller.
I asked if she could show me the perfumes I looked at. Her reply "these are the expensive perfumes over $50 and 100$". I paused and asked what does she mean by that I did not ask for price yet. Then she replied " we do not have testers here, you can search on google" I replied saying google won't have testers either. I am confused at the same time figuring what is she trying to tell me? I can't afford those perfumes or she is just lazy to come out and show me the perfumes? Meanwhile the lady behind replied that "you would have to go to different location to try on some". I left the location.
But this such ridiculous behaviour of that lady not making any effort to sell the perfume and rude replies. I wasted my time at this location and will not again. But how could she just assume that I wasn't looking for expensive perfumes?

Shoppers Drug Mart infusion sets for insulin pumps

My husband and I have just moved to the area. My husband wears a insulin pump for his Diabetes. To our surprise Shoppers Drug Mart can't order infusion sets for his insulin pump. And we should go to another drug store to order them.
We moved from Paris, Ontario and every drug store there either has them or can order them. I find it every funny that a drug store as big as Shoppers Drug Mart can't order insulin pump supplies in for their customers.
My husband will be taking his business to another drug store. which mean Shopper Drug Mart will be losing hundreds of dollars a month. My husbands pump supplies and other medication runs us in the hundreds monthly.
I am very disappointed in Shopper Drug Mart. If other drug stores like the big chains or small privately owned ones can order them. Then why doesn't Shoppers Drug Mart.

Sincerely
Kim Kotzeff

Shoppers Drug Mart dairy

Hi, we have purchased cream two times recently. Both times the expiry date was in the future and both times we opened them, they had gone bad. Like chunky bad. I love my shoppers and the points and the convenience. But this is disappointing. I didn't bother the return of either item because it's a hassle and embarrassing to do so.

If it's for sale, it should be still good right?

Thank you for your time.

I just wanted to let you know. I am adding my card so you can verify that I purchase cream yesterday and in the past.
