ShopGoodwill Auctions, shipping fees and customer service

Recently I bid on a few auctions and ended up where I couldn't pay them on the date due. I emailed customer service a few days ahead of time asking for an extension and got no answer from any of the "sellers". I attempted to pay as soon as I could but that option was not available. So I emailed again, and again got no answer. The items I have gotten from them have been pretty much as described but not all were correct. And the cost of shipping is unbelievable. I am a reseller myself so I know how shipping works. My mother has tried to use my phone for her account and it disabled her account for only that reason. She has never been late paying and has been in good standing until she used my phone and no cannot shop there anymore. Goodwill is NOT what everyone thinks they are and it's about time more people knew about it

Desired outcome: Maybe be a little more compassionate and forgiving for first time offenders? If that's what they call it. Especially in this day and age, people have so much going on and make mistakes and we never know what's going to happen day to day

ShopGoodwill Unfair shipping practices

Beware! Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire
- I won 3 pendants and 1 ring they are charging me $14.00 shipping and refuse to combine the shipping saying it is Fedex doing it see their response :
"FedEx calculates shipping costs based on the size/weight of the item, as well as the distance that it needs to travel. Unfortunately we are unable to lower shipping costs, as they are already as low as we can make them. Thank you."
This is NOT true I have purchased almost $18, 000 in items from all over this is the ONLY one that is doing this shady shipping practice!
They are charging for 4 ponds, 1 pound for each item!

Desired outcome: Please combine the shipping

Hey! What specific goodwill ("seller") was this so others know to avoid them?

I found this in the terms of service which seems sketch itself:

"GOODWILL IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE ACTUAL BIDDING AND SALES TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN SELLERS AND BUYERS, WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR LEGALITY OF THE ITEMS ADVERTISED, THE TRUTH OR ACCURACY OF THE LISTINGS, THE ABILITY OF SELLERS TO SELL ANY ITEMS, OR THE ABILITY OF BUYERS TO BUY ANY ITEMS. WE CANNOT AND DO NOT CONTROL WHETHER ANY PARTY WILL COMPLETE A TRANSACTION. "

Who are these "sellers" since goodwill isn't even associated with the site? I've had this same thing happen but decided to cut my losses and just set it to pick up but never went to get it. Better than spending $50 on shipping a product I got for $6 that's worth maybe $20 🙄

Also, I like how they absolve themselves of any liability. If you read up on goodwill and trademarks (note the lower case g) it'll make your head hurt but makes sense how they get away with shoddy tactics like this.

Ah well, big biz is big biz I guess.

ShopGoodwill I have over 10 items & am NOT ALLOWED TO "PAY"!!!

Can you believe THAT. I have ALWAYS PAID &/or communicated with every source and over the past week no one will accept my payments! My credit card is fine & the issues are entirely at each shop goodwill site. What is going on?

ShopGoodwill Auction account

Had account banned after missed payment due to system lockout and when I contacted to see how I could pay I received no reply. Opened a new account after this and was immediately banned despite no missed payments. When contacted customer service was told that there is no way to enable my account.

I use this auction for my work as a Set Decorator, and am now paying a price for their poor technology which does not allow for payment on the 3rd day payment is due, and changes passwords without user permission leading to a locked account. They just need to enable auto-pay!

Desired outcome: Enable user accounts and make payments automatic or at least notifications of payment/fix tech.

FYI that happen to me and now i just make a different account with a different name but i pay and use my real card infoand address. its hard to bid on long auctions cause the account we be takin down in a matter of hours. so i shop at the buy it now tab and pay asap. Ive got everything ive order without being able to get back in the account. Yea it sucks to have to make a new account and email everytime but its the only way. I think someone monitors the site and does all the changes. Dont register for a account until you find what you want and is ready to buy.

I've had the same thing happen with the same response from support, even though I made arrangements and items were paid and shipped to me! Im not sure what can be done. My boyfriend made an account and they disabled his right away too!

ShopGoodwill My account has been disable/block completely

Date: april 7, 2021

Customer number: account black/disable can't get number

On march the 29th of 2021 year my online shopgoodwill.com account. In which was blocked from using. After days of sending e-messages to shopgoodwill.com customer service "no response". Just today april 7, 2021 at 4:20 pm my account was fully disable entirely of shopgoodwill.com.

Desired outcome: Refund all of my Purchases from their Website/Reactivate my Account with Unlimited Services/Features.

ShopGoodwill Disabled Accounts

I have never not paid for an item I won. I have never done anything but pay for items I win. Yet my account got disabled, and I've tried to make other accounts and they're immediately disabled. It's so unfair and bias, it makes me wonder if they just automatically ban people from groups of IP addresses or something? I've tried to contact them over and over, and no one gets back to me. It's the WORST online system I've ever used.

ShopGoodwill Need to stop putting black markers on purses and clothing i'm tired of throwing them away because it doesn't come off just stop

The stores in fort lauderdale area put black markers to price
on clothing and purses it dosen't come off i had to threw out more thing the marker dose not come off talk to your people
or spend some money on tags just stop. Put tags like all the other places do spend some money so we can spend ours no more black markers talk to your people

ShopGoodwill Bid on item/ did not arrive in lot/Pictures changed

You have a dishonest employee at your Willamette store in Oregon. The supervisor Todd N is hateful and needs to be replaced.
I bid on a lot for 1 specific item.
When I received my lot that item was not included. When I went back and reviewed the pictures they were not the same, I am a newer patron to the site and have spent thousands of dollars already. I cannot express my disappointment!

ShopGoodwill Bidding

I am a long term shopper with Goodwill and have now had two instances where I have placed a bid...and thank God I checked only to discover that my bids were hughly inflated. My latest bid on a piece of jewlery was 42.00 and when I later checked my bid showed up at $1, 800. Not sure how this is happening, but seems pretty shady to me. A favor of a reply would be greatly appreciated along with an explanation as to how this happened and what measures are being taken to prevent this from happening again.

ShopGoodwill Rudeness to a customer

On the night of january 8th at 6:30 pm when I was making a purchase, one of your employees was rude, her name's irma. I was about to pay for the purchase when I had to get out 3 dollars to pay for something to cover the sales tax on something that was $1.99 due to my not having the change for it. There were 2 girls at the counter, the one who waited on me, her name's goodline, but it wasn't her, she's always nice. The other one up there with her, irma was the one, she said, and I quote-you never have change, and that struck me as rather rude. I'm a regular customer and have bought a lot of stuff in this store over the years, and this didn't set well with me. She needs to be told this isn't the way to talk to a customer, this incident happened at the western lights store on onondaga boulevard, syracuse, new york. John M Guinto

ShopGoodwill Disabling account

I just opened an account, bid on a laptop and now my account is disabled. WTF is wrong with these people? I'm reading other reviews and they seem to have a habit of this. Guess I will go give my money to an organization that needs and appreciates it. I will also be putting this on YouTube so everyone can see what they are doing.

ShopGoodwill Store policy - masks required by customer

The State of Oklahoma and the City of Oklahoma Has not and will not issue a mandatory requirement. No other thrift store in Oklahoma City had issued such. This frankly, breaches my constitutional rights. To desire VOLUNTARY wearing of masks is one acceptable response. This happened July 15, 2020. Please come into compliance with Oklahoma State, city and county laws concerning this issue.

ShopGoodwill Online auction

I bid on item and win. PayPal transaction completed on Jan 24 th 2019. I check my card it did go thru. They are refusing to mark item paid and ship it saying it's not paid. I sent copy of paid receipt. I open 3 tickets which they closed saying it's not them I need to contact. I opened another ticket which received no response as of yet. I I have been trying to call others numbers I found online but no response. I find it hard to belt that they do not have direct contact to anyone about payment. I am getting the run around and now wondering what's going on. Shopgoodwill had been paid for my item. So where is it or who has it? No. One there seems to know what going on.

I won your auction for order#[protected] on Dec. 26, 2019...it is still in "open ordersn now, 13 days later...I wrote the seller to see if they would ship it but no, they have not, nor have they replied to the two complaints I have sent them...I realise it is just a one dollars hat...but the shipping and handling are expensive and I would like them to know that the five business days to ship is long over with...teddyhuntsbears

ShopGoodwill disable account after winning auction

On several occasions I have had my accounts disabled for absol Rely no reason; I have spent a lot of money on items won on the auction site. Yet from the beginning my accounts would get disabled for no reason and customer service is no help. I am especially troubled that the accounts seem to be disabled after I win a good auction, but before I can pay for it — thus disabling my ability to purchase the item I won. I just can't believe that this is goodwill. Shipping and handling costs are unbelievably high, products are often not as described (broken, huge flaws etc) yet I don't complain. However, having every account I've ever created disabled for no reason really feels insulting and feels like a scam.

ShopGoodwill knee braces under bid

I requested the item to be reset for payment. I was out of town during the first nonpayment.. I was informed the item had been reset. But it's not showing on my end. I'm not able to make payment. I sent a email notifying the location of the pro 4 time and ask them to redo it on my end . It has been updated. ShopGoodwill broken statue

Recieved a statue that was described as in good condition and needed a light dusting. Recieved this item broken . The pictures of this item showed it complete and unbroken. When I attempted to submit a claim through customer service I was told to send pictures of the broken statue . I sent this along pictures of the box it was shipped in. I didn't hear anything back for ten days during which time I kept sending request for a refund. I was finally contacted back apologizing for the delay and asking for now pictures of the packing slip they sent and the packing material used. Now this seemed a ridiculous request since they packed it they should know what packing material they used. The packing slip was originally generated by them so why would they not have a copy of this. Even though that was what I thought was a stall tactic I sent the pictures requested letting them know I felt not having copies was incompatant on their part. I called right after I sent the pictures to them and was told by the person who answered the phone that my claim was now being sent to management for a refund. That person also sent me a written message saying it was forwarded to management. Now that I was told I was recieving a refund over the phone I discarded the broken item they sent me. Then two days later they send me a message saying they are sending me a shipping label to return the broken item they shipped me. I would have done that if I was told that when I was told I was getting a refund. But since it took them two days later to tell me that's what they wanted the item was already trashed. Since I am a reseller I don't have room for worthless items. I have spent allot of money over the years and have only had one other complaint filed which was handled right Away. I need my refund for this claim. Please refund my claim so I don't have to proceed further.your customer service in this location is rude and incompatant.

ShopGoodwill absurd shipping charges

It is ridiculous.
This is taken directly from the website:
Shipping Weight: 80 lbs.
Actual Weight: 3 lbs.
Shipping: $30.41 (FEDEX_GROUND)

Why is some 3 pounds of STUFFED ANIMALS require 80 lb shipping weight?

I used to think this website was worth supporting, but it's become really obvious to me that it is a scam.
All it took was a quick google search to find out that everyone else who is familiar with the website agrees and that the wrongful shipping charges are a number one complaint for this site.
