I stopped in this morning (10/14/2019) at 01:50 AM & after waking up on my day off, I work 3rd shift so I sleep weird hours. Understanding in the state of Pennsylvania alcohol cannot be sold after 0200, I was excited I would still be able to pick up a case of beer, well, when I attempt to enter the cooler, the beer cooler had been locked. The lady behind the counter tells me they lock it at 01:45, to prevent an altercation with customers who come to the counter after 0200 with alcohol. I politely asked her if she could unlock the cooler so I could buy A case of beer, being that I knew precisely what I was getting & could check out before 0200, & yet she reiterated the cooler is locked at 0145, etc., she cannot open it. I don't know if this is company policy or this individual stores policy. I shop Sheetz several times a week for the convenience. In this particular situation, your employees are catering to themselves & not the customer. Hang signs around the cooler & register of hours which alcohol cannot be sold, there are better solutions to the problem I experienced than what is currently being implemented. If I cannot buy beer when is convenient for me, then I will stay awake on my first day off to drive an extra quarter mile to the beer distributor to both save money & guarantee I'll have beer when I want it. I have been a loyal customer of Sheetz for many things for over the last 12 years, this is my first complaint, & quite frankly, an issue I believe needs resolved. Thank you.
