Shaw's Sick manager back to work too soon

I'm a customer at the North Easton Shaws and have been made aware that a manager who tested positive for COVID-19 came back to work after only one week of quarantine. I want to know what's being done about this situation - it's absurd. I'm not sure if Shaws thinks that customers don't notice these things, but we do. I've also been informed that workers weren't made aware of a few employee cases of COVID-19 by management. Isn't that against the law, or at least some sort of ethical code? As a customer I want to know what's being done about this situation. I want management to be held accountable. I want us customers and the hard workers to be safe when going into work.

They are not required to tell the other employees the medical treatment of coworkers. They are not breaking the law. Even before your confession i knew that you were a disgruntled employee. For someone who is "just a customer" you have a lot of outside information.

They are most certainly to inform any worker who has worked closely with someone who has contacted Covid19. No names of course but contact tracing has to be done. So your snide comment is incorrect.

Shaw's cleanliness

I went to shaws Belmont st Brockton ma
Because my pharmacy osco drug is in there
I was told to herd myself in to a line of well over 40 people
Nuts to butts the whole way
This is not correct I could not get important meds today
Social distance is supposed to be 6 feet
Your folks endangered everyone who went there today I would not take part in such blatten foolishness
However I did take pictures and sent them to a news station

Shaw's very rude employee that refused to honor the six ft rule

On Friday March 27, 20 20, I had a very rude employee that refused to honor the six ft rule. She also got in my face while I was typing in my pin and demand I get out of the way. I asked if I could finish my card pad transaction and if she would please keep a six ft. She mocked me to her manager also 3ft from me saying" 6ft, 6ft over and over. The manager, Alex, told her to just go and she pushed by me in the narrow register space then was back to back with me. I said this is for your health too and she said" whatever nothing is going to happen." I said I was shopping for my 82 year old parents and they are a concern. She said"that's not my problem" . These are the people you employ? I mentioned she was rude and asked the manager if he was going to allow her to act this way and he ignored me.? He wouldn't even look at me. She then yelled that I was screaming at her so others in line would think I did something. I assure you I was not. I was waiting for my husband to finish our order, as like I said, my groceries were bought separate for my parents. She was laughing and looking at the manager as he smiled at her. She then turned to me, all the while checking customers out behaving this way, said I don't care how old you are either.
To be clear, this was not stress, she did not care about customers or how she looked. Apparently it seems neither does Shaw's as the manager was rude as well. I've never had such a bad experience at a store and will never shop there again. I think purposely trying to get someone compromised sick is assault. I'm considering calling the media. I think she should be fired and I've never wanted that for anyone in my life.

Shaw's pricing

This morning I went into shaws as I do quite a bit. There was a sale tag on the family size smart food popcorn for 3.99, reg 5.29, there was also items that were marked the same sale price, all but the cheetos, puff. One of my complaints is that why is all the party/family size on sale for 3.99 and not the cheetos, puff. My other complaint is that I brought one of the family/party size smartfood popcorn to the cashier, thinking it was going to ring as 3.99 and it still rang up at 5.29, even after my loyalty phone number was entered. I didn't have to time to have a manager go look at the sale and then give me the sale price. One resolution that I would like is to buy the family/party size bags of cheetos, puff as 3.99 and the smartfood popcorn as 3.99.
If I wasn't watching, I would have bought the smartfood at 5.29, not the sale price. I have noticed a few things like that. So can you imagine if I wasn't watching my receipt, how many times I would pay full price instead of the sale price. How would you like to happen to you.
I would like a response to this problem.

Shaw's sales

Many "in store" sales never ring true at the cash registers and I bought Genoa salami that is spoiled, third or fourth spoiled item in the past three months. I am now out about $28.00 in items I had to toss.Most recently the latest sale was the Genoa salami and get a pound of cheese free, which they ended up charging me for, also for 12 packs of soda for 10 dollars rang in for twelve dollars. I bought raspberries that were molded and shrimp that was so spoiled it stunk.

Shaw's fresh express pre-packaged salads

As I was eating a pre-packaged salad that was bought from the veggie/produce aisle the night before (1/13/2020), I noticed there was a dead ladybug in the dressing container provided. I immediately threw out the rest, however I have already eating about 90% of the salad before seeing it.
I honestly am not sure what I would request in this situation due to my shock of disgust. Please look into other complaints to see if there are any similar situations or issue a product recall request.

Shaw's shaws brand toilet paper

I always bought Shaws brand products for over 35 years now I can say I regret not returning signature brand "our softest" toilet paper. Its unusable falls apart immediately when wet at all its a mess had I known it was so bad I would have happily paid the few dollars more for a brand that actually did the job it was made to. Thank you for letting me know if you receive this please.

Shaw's fruit tart choc bin

Purchased one of these desserts on Fri 12/13/19 for a family party on sat 12/14/19. While packing food away after the party I noticed MOLD on the berries on the bottom layer of fruit. That's after half the pie was eaten. I was pretty disgusted with this and wanted to bring this to your attention. I have included pics of the areas with mold and the label. I hope you can find a way to ease my reluctance now to shop at your stores.

Shaw's misleading sales flyer

Every week I peruse the Shaw's flyer, write down the items I wish to purchase, note if they are part of the 3 day sale, have limits or must buys, etc. Last weekend I bought 6 boxes of the crackers under a banner saying Mix & Match. There was an ad at the bottom of p.1, and a larger Mix $ Match collection on the back of the first page. Before I left the store, I checked my sales slip because the total was higher than I had figured. There were 3 stations open, no baggers and a closed sign at the service desk. Lines at all 3 registers. No one to help. Once I was home I checked my slip and, indeed, I'd been charged $2.99 each, which was $1.11 more than the "sale price". When I went back to ask about it, I had both flyer and sales slip in my hand. The woman at the service desk barely glanced at my slip as she told me how I had messed up. The ad on the front page that said Mix ‘N Match was separate from the sale on the inside of the front page that said Mix ‘N Match, though both reduced the price to $1.88. She said that 2 boxes of the crackers were from the front page, and 4 from the back of p.1, so my purchases didn't qualify. She was dismissive, repeating, "They are two separate ads". This whole episode created deep distrust on my part; I will think twice before I even go in a Shaw's again. I loathe feeling that I've somehow been duped.

Shaw's management

Was at Shaws in East Boston early around 7:30am. Was at check out two employees came in together, the manger acknowledged one with a big Good Morning, and walked right pasted the other. To me that is really poor management skills. I really don't care if one is a better worker than the other, but when your in public and you have a little authority you treat everyone equal. That manager if she needs to get up and work every day she is no better than anyone else.

Shaw's western union customer service

I went to get a western union today. My license was expired so I could not do it . That's fine. My cousin behind me said he wanted to send to her out of his pocket since I could not. The lady raised her voice told us that I wanted one and that she would send one for him either. Which is fine. But being condescending, raising your voice and saying NO IM NoT doing it. Bye, bye. Waving hand and rolling eyes at me is unprofessional and unacceptable. A simple explanation or understanding would be ideal. Not leaving the store feeling like crap because the employee just [censored] on me. I'm very angry about this. Though the management should know. Thank you for your time.

Shaw's lettuce and meats

I stopped going there because so many items are expired and still on shelves. Lettuce and meats especially. Fruits had mold on them. I decided to try again last night. Nothing changed. Expired meats and lettuce still on the shelves. It's such a beautiful store and so conveniently close to my house. It's too bad I won't shop there again. I really hope that this on going problem can be resolved.

Shaw's girl in produce with the green hair

I was in there shopping this morning and as I passed by the cut fruit while the young lady with the green here was there and stunk of alcohol so bad I shop there often almost on a daily basis and I have to say I left my stuff there and I will not be back there knowing that you let people work there while under the influence of alcohol! She is handling food products honestly disgusting I was totally disgusted and I will not be back there

Shaw's service

On 10/7/2019 at shaw's store#1429 . I was bagging my own groceries when I noticed the cashier was tossing my food . At first I seen her toss a package of meat, not upset until she started tossing boxes of crackers, cookies and bread . I asked her if she was having a bad and that I would appreciate her not throwing my food, that I was paying for . At that point another employee stated that the cashier wasn't throwing my food . I've shopped at this shaw s for many years and was surprised at the aggression that this employee showed . Maybe i should have chosen my words differently and said toss instead of throwing . I thought she should have apologized and just said she didn't realize she was tossing the groceries. I believe the young lady should be retrained . The experience from the other employee aggression was unwarranted, that I will no longer be shopping at shaw s. On the receipt the cashier name was Gina Miller . Please if anything I believe she should be retrained.

Shaw's signature brand peanuts

The calorie count is wrong on the Signature Brand Peanuts for either the salt or unsalted .

Signature Unsalted Peanuts you can have 1/4 cup for 170 calories
Signature Salted Peanuts you can have 1/2 cup for 170 calories. Since when does adding salt reduce the calories in half? I have to think this is a mistake in the labeling.

Please let me know which label is correct.

Shaw's service

I go to shaws every week and spend anywhere from 300-400 a week. Everytime I go in line the bagger leaves when it's my turn. I have a ripped out rotor cuff and I'm expected to bag my stuff that I'm paying for with a debit card. I do not work for shaws and do not expect to bag my stuff. If it continues to happen I will be bringing my business else where

Shaw's wic products

I have to go to Shaw's for wic considering I'm pregnant with no car and I have to take the bus with my son to get there. When I get to the store there is never enough items for wic so I have to sacrifice what they don't have because it is not in stock. When I talked to the manager she said the policy is that they cannot substitute . If that is the case then they need to make sure there is always WIC items in stock.

Shaw's prices and checkout

Hello, yesterday 9/15/2019 I shopped at Shaws for what is most likely the last time ever. My weekly grocery bill which does not very much was about $100 more than what I pay for the same groceries at Market Basket. We decided to give Shaws a try about two months ago because the lines and crowds at Market Basket in Westford and Littleton Massachusetts on the weekends are just too much.

At first, our grocery bill came out to about $25-30 more and we couldn't quite pinpoint it to if we bought something in addition to the normal that pushed us up higher or it if its just the price difference but for the ease of shopping and checkout that we had, we didn't mind so much. Our next trip was about the same. Since then, we were $50 more and now $100 more and we have been back to our local Market Basket a time or two so we do know that prices on everything haven't increased that much.

After filling a full cart and checking out, we aren't going to say we don't want the $350+ of groceries and leave, we just paid and left but do not expect us to be back. This is probably why this store always seems so empty, it just took us a handful of tries to figure it out. We log in with our phone number to get the 'sales' prices and the apparently fake savings do show on the receipt. It does not make sense that a family of 4 who gets almost the same items on a week to week basis can have such a huge swing in what our grocery bill comes out to. At Market Basket, we pay typically $240-260 a week depending mostly on if we but some extra meat and veggies to have other family over for dinner but each trip to Shaws has been $280-$350+ a week and we as well as other shoppers don't have money to just throw away. You may want to address this before you lose all of your customers.

I do see that my receipt from yesterday shopping does not show up in my app on my phone (I did keep the printed receipt) so maybe your system is just really screwed up.

Comments: My husband and I have been shopping at the Littleton, NH Shaws since 2013. Our concerns of lately have been enough to try to contact someone at Corporate. The store has been in serious decline this past year, and it has been bad enough that we have tried to shop in other stores, some even quite far away. With Walmart closing off most of their food sections across the lot, and with only a smaller high priced Coop across town, we thought that Shaws would run with the opportunity to ramp operations up. But just tonight, there were rotten salads and produce in the produce section, both the meat and fish dept. closed entirely in the afternoon, there was only one to service 10 customers in the deli (one person would not serve customers), there were numerous outdated items in the frozen fish freezer, there was no frozen vegetables (literally, the shelves were bare and have been for 2 weeks), there were no bags or boxes to package items up in the bakery, there was little or no selections in the bagel and donut section (trays were empty), there was no help in the front cashiers, and the floors were littered with trash and filthy. Simply a disgusting and shameful store to walk around. If someone from Corporate made a surprise visit tomorrow, there is no way someone would deem this store satisfactory to stay in operation, never mind if the health department showed up. Please, can something be done to help this store be what it used to be! Feel free to contact me (Jean Sapere; [protected] or my husband Jorge [protected]) for further clarification. Shaw's thai style coconut chicken

I've enjoyed shaw's brand products for years... this was an exception. While eating thai style coconut chicken a broken chicken bone stabbed the roof of my mouth. The roof of my mouth bled and was in pain leaving me unable to eat. This is not a simple quality error, I was in pain trying to eat for days after a sharp bone stabbed my mouth from your product!

I would like to add further, that this incident made me so angry that I asked my disabled frail grandmother if I could borrow $25. She told me no that she really needed the money. I then knocked her out. Mind you she has a walker, her wallet and the money that I needed. I slapped her so hard. Then when I came to my senses I helped her up. She is considering pressing charges against me. Thanks to them, I was so angry that I took my anger and frustration out on my frail grandmother who uses a walker. Thanks to them I may have a criminal record.
