Shaping Homes Installation of a complete bathroom

In august last year shaping homes started to install a bathroom. They ripped out the old bathroom and then started to work on the new bathroom which took them 38 days and was left unfinished. I have had to have the bathroom completed by another company which has cost me another £1200 on top of the 6000 paid to shaping homes.
1> the ceiling paint has flakes.
2. the shower pump has been fitted to the mains connection and has since blown and I now need a plumber to sort this out
3. no turn off water points were left available to get to all were hidden
4. a plug socked was installed under the bath taps (since been relocated by new fitters)
5. the unit plinth was missing from the unit was re supplied by shaping homes but never fitted
6. the top part of the unit under the sink was ruined and replaced with wood that then split through water contact and has been replaced.
7> The floor tiles were not laid properly and all the grout cracked around the tiles and after a few weeks came out (when the floor was replaced in May by another company I had to replace all the tiles as the could not be saved, and we had to have new floor boards as the old ones had soaked up the watered down grout.
8. shaping homes will not return phone call and have ignored all my emails since feb, but they took my money last year.
I have photo's of my bathroom and copies of emails to them I really feel conned by them, the fitters were 3 guys from Georgia.
I also have a damaged kitchen where by the water on three occasions had leaked through from the various jobs they done.
Even the radiator had been fitted incorrectly the valves had been fitted pointing out to the front

Shaping Homes Bedroom Furniture

Dealing with Shaping Homes has been the worst goods dealing experience I have ever had.
This company is completely disregarding the fact that there is a regulation (The Consumer Contracts 2013) that allows potential customers to cancel their order till 14 days after the goods have arrived. I haven't even finalized my order yet and they are refusing to return my money.
Furthermore the staff I have been dealing with, since I have declared my intention to cancel my order has become very rude, unprofessional and he won't return my calls, he won't reply to my letters.
I wouldn't recomend this company to my worst enemy.

Shaping Homes Utterly unreliable and very stressful

Our kitchen delivery with Shaping Homes was incredibly stressful to say the least, and we are still dealing with the ramifications months after completion. I cannot emphasise enough how difficult this company is - I feel people should be aware of this before contracting with them.

Our kitchen is less than 2m x 3m, and it took 6 months to install and deliver - even though we removed the previous units, painted and installed new flooring ourselves.

It's worth noting that since installation we have reported this company to Trading Standards and the Health and Safety Executive, as we discovered gas leaks under our hob in our kitchen. It transpired that one of the fittings used was a water pipe (!) and the man who did the gas work was not actually gas certified at the time (despite Shaping Homes claiming the contrary). Not only was this dangerous, but we've had to spend extensive time and money rectifying the gas work in the kitchen...

The key points for why I would advise avoiding Shaping Homes are as follows:

1) Illegal gas work, which was described as "amateur" by investigators.

2) Promise things they don't deliver - units were different to those that were ordered. When queried about the unit height difference the projects team stated units "never came in that size", but when I phoned up the sales people afterwards as an "anonymous" caller the sales teams confirmed that units in that range could indeed go up to the size we'd agreed. When this was raised with the project team they suddenly offered a solution to fix it...

3) They cancelled 6 times, and 4 times did not bother to turn up at all. This meant we were without any kitchen for 5 months.

4) They do not project manage - it's included in the contract, but it absolutely does not happen. They rarely respond to emails and project contacts have a tendency to "disappear" when something has gone wrong, and overlook questions they don't want to answer. They never responded to our questions about the first cancellation, despite 2 months of asking.

5) They installed the wrong items 4 times, and some items (like the extractor fan filter) they asked us to install ourselves.

6) At the end of the contract they asked for extra money for things that were included in the contract (ironically, they wanted extra money for the illegal gas works!), and did not extra discuss costs incurred at the time.

7) Insisted we pay the fitter directly, despite it being out of our contract with Shaping Homes. When we raised concerns and later insisted on paperwork to confirm this payment fulfilled our contractual obligations they were very dismissive and repeatedly said "that's the way it's always done".

8) The worktop company they outsource to leave a lot to be desired. At the showroom they say the worktop fitter will bring a full range to view at your house, but the fitter turned up at ours with only 3 colours to choose from. When it was installed there were different features than agreed, and the upstands were misaligned and poorly fitted - they came back eventually to fix the upstands, but we weren't able to change the quartz that was installed.

9) Frustratingly there is no process for handling customer complaints, and there is no escalation process.

10) Terrible expectation setting. After they delayed the first installation before Christmas, we raised concerns about further delays impacting our holiday dates in January. We were assured in writing that “a kitchen of your size will almost certainly take less than a week to install, especially if all the gas work is done prior to the installation.” It then took a further 4 months from that point...

11) Took 3 attempts to get the right paperwork post-contract - each time the guarantees accidentally (?) included the wrong order number, wrong address or forgetting to actually sign the paper work.

12) They do not use protective coverings, and had to be called back to collect the rubbish

13) Delays meant we were left without drinking water in our flat for 3 weeks.

14) One of the hob burners whistles when turned on which Shaping Homes fitter declared "wasn't a fault, because it's working", and refused to fix.

15) 6 months after installation our fridge is now making very loud noises that sound like roadworks, and we are having to get this fixed now.

Shaping Homes Fraudulent contract- lost £2000 deposit

This company took £2000 deposit for fixing our bathroom in December 2013. They kept delaying the service so we asked our money back, which we were refused. Now we learnt that the company is been bankrupt from 29th April 2014. Moreover they keep advertising on their website and change the customers's ratings of their company reviews. I feel people should be aware of this before sign in any contract with this company!

Shaping Homes Lost £2000 deposit

Now we learnt that the company is been bankrupt from 29th April 2014. Moreover they keep advertising on their website and change the customers's ratings of their company reviews and delete the negative reviews . I feel people should be aware of this before entering into any form of contract with Shaping Homes Ltd or Shaping Homes (Group ) Ltd. The owners run both companies, signing up new customers, taking their their deposit. And then deliver the bankruptcy letter, announcing that their company is in liquidation and can't pay its debts. They are running an obvious scam.

Shaping Homes Nonrefundable design

I've applied online for a kitchen quote. Shaping Homes Ltd came round and gave me a very good quote. I've been told that it will cost £100 deposit to start the work; however I have not been mentioned that this is a nonrefundable "design" charge. The design has not been provided, only an unclear drawing on the peace of the paper.

Hi there,
This is normal in placing an order within home improvements. the deposit shows the company that you are very keen and starts the process of. You would probably have 7 days to cancel as standard but this sounds normal.

Surprised they didn't want a bigger deposit most companies ask for 30-50%
