Schell Brothers Caleb and the one (1) year warranty

Our Home has had numerous issues over the past year: nail pops, cracks in the stone at the base of the house, a missing pump that was supposed to go into one of our sump pumps, drywall imperfections, a crooked wall in one of the bedrooms, a support beam the workers cut into to make room for a pvc pipe in the basement, and a slew of other issues that a county/state inspection company, we hired prior to our final one year inspection, found.

This inspection company gave us a booklet containing pictures of every square inch of our home where they found over 1000 problems that were both minor and potentially against county/ state code. When presented with this booklet, Caleb (a representative for Schell in our local area and the guy who calls the shots on what will and what will not be fixed), explained, in not so many words, that Schell is not responsible to fix most of the issues in the book and that my wife and I will have to suck it up. Caleb took his time to mark all the issues Schell won't fix; so far, it's been a standoff between the family and him and something needs to be done about these issues.

By the way, it was Fosters Plumbing who found the sump pump was missing the pump despite it being "gravity", they said their still should have been a pump installed to avoid ground water flooding.

On a final note: Caleb has been notorious for marking issues fixed in heartbeat which were not even looked at nor fixed in the real world. You guys need to hire more trustworthy workers.

Desired outcome: They need to put customers first and fix the issues we have.

Schell Brothers Sales Staff

I have been attempting to make appointments at DE properties since March 1. We are driving from Atlanta on May 17 to look at developments and I have been unable to finalize anything with SchellBrothers. A plethora of messages, promises, missed calls and Zoom appointments, emails, and busy signals. Rene, Sara, Carol, Tyler, Sam, what a "team." SchellBrothers seems to have a high quality product, but how does one get to see (and buy) it?

Desired outcome: Do your job. We would still like to see these properties.

Schell Brothers Poor Finish Work

This Company promises you happiness but does not deliver. They build a solid, energy efficient home but the finish work is sloppy and unprofessional. Trying to get fixes is nearly impossible. They do not return phone calls and report to you when you call they are at the mercy of their subcontractor. A Company that cannot control its subcontractors is poorly managed. I am waiting three months for repair to my gutters which were installed incorrectly. Home was completed 15 months ago and they still haven't put the topcoat on my driveway. Same is true for many of my neighbors. Don't be fooled by their hype...
