Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I did a Deferred payment and was not told that they would charge me extra interest on my deferred payment. Every thing I pay now is going to interest. Also they charged me a payment for the month I deferred. They did not explain that everything I paid when I first got the loan, was mostly going towards interest. They told me different things when I first got the loan but the account shows different. I'm just so tired

Santander Consumer USA 2006 volkswagen jetta

My husband and I purchased a 2006 Jetta in January of 2014. It's July 2019 and we still owe a little under 9 Thousand dollars! This is absolutely ridiculous! The car was only 12 thousand to begin with 5 YEARS AGO! It became so much of a burden that we just let them come and get it! Now our credit is going to be messed up behind this car that's supposed to be 12 thousand but really 24 thousand. WHENEVER WE CAN PURCHASE A VEHICLE AGAIN AFTER THIS REPOSESSION WE DEFINITELY WON'T USE SANTANDER! SUCH A RIP OFF

I have bank statements and receipts showing where the payments were made. They told me that I'm currently 57 days past due and last week when I thought I had this straightened out I was told I was 21 days past due. It is hurting mine and my husband's credit and if they repo my car I cannot get to and from work. I am making all payments on time and they keep saying they are being returned and they are not. Santander Consumer USA santander consumer usa does not know how to be professional

In April of 2017 I had purchased a brand new 2017 Nissan Versa everything started out great I signed every document my fiance and I were desperate for a car at the time. until about six months ago my fiance and I realized that Santander Consumer was no longer reporting to my credit and not to mention for the past two-and-a-half 3 years that I've been making payments on a vehicle nothing has been hitting my actual principal everything has been going towards the interest they have me at a 21. 0% interest rate. Anyway I decided to call Santander I asked him why they have not been reporting to my credit bureau and they put me on hold for 15 minutes came back and told me that nothing is wrong in that they have always been reporting to the credit bureau and that if I'm so concerned about it that I should call the credit companies and ask why or what happened when I feel as a consumer that Santander should do their job and call them not have there consumer do it for them not to mention I feel like we are being taken advantage of and I feel that I shouldn't be paying on a vehicle if the financial company won't be professional about it and report back to my credit bureau so legally the 2017 Nissan Versa is considered mine because of the fact that nothing is reporting back to my credit or my fiance's. We would love to be a part of the class action lawsuit. my fiance and I feel that we have been throwing money away basically and Santander is pocketing our money... Not to mention we feel 100% violated. Not to mention it seems kind of funny they are charging me $35, 000 for a $10, 000 vehicle and that's brand new.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

They applied all payments to intrest that I ever payed. Even my deffered payments were shown as late on my credit report. They deffered my may and jine payment in 2017 then repoed my vehicle before I could make the deffered payments then said that they never deffered my payments. I payed over 12, 500 on my vehicle in a span of 3 years and not one dime was taken off. Then when they repoed my car they stole all of my belongings out of it including my birth certificates for my sons and me and our ss cards plus expensive cameras and equipment for my employment

Santander Consumer USA payment protection insurance

I financed a 2013 Nissan Altima through them via the auto company in Wilmington NC called Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. I was told I had PPI insurance along with Gap and that one of the things the PPI insurance would cover was a job loss. Well in 2017 I actually did incur a job loss due to corporate cutting my position. I called Santander and explained that I needed to use my point asked how to do it because of my job loss and I was told over the phone that they didn't offer any kind of insurance like that. And that I still had to make my usual payments. I got behind further due to being unemployed however my Mom helped me catch up to Santander's "satisfaction" then immediately after paying them based on our agreement ans being only 1 month behind in June 2017, Santander discharged my loan as a repossession. Which of course not only showed up on my credit report but also my cosigner's which is my Mom. I KNOW I was told when I bought my car and signed paperwork at the dealership that I had Gap AND PPI ...I need this discharged loan off od my Mom's credit report ASAP and would like it off of mine as well. Had Santander honored the PPI I had I wouldn't have lost my car. I became employed again July 2017 at another facility.

Santander Consumer USA payments not received/false reports to credit bureau

I've made all my payments early to the company listed above, however I'm being reported to the credit bureau as being late. I've reached out to the company listed above, and no one seems to know anything other than I owe them money, I expressed to the company listed above representative that I have all documentations from my bank showing all payments being sent, however they do not reflect on my account with the company listed above, which is taking a toll on my credit, and they have added ridiculous fees to my account. This is unacceptable, and highly unethical.

Santander Consumer USA bogus reporting to credit bureaus

I was late on my payments in March 2019 and April 2019. When I spoke with them, I expressed that the car will be paid off by the end of May 2019. I also expressed that I just cleaned several things off my credit report in February and I was doing pretty well as far as my credit score and I was hoping they gave me until the end of May before reporting. They said it was fine. I got a notification from my credit report on May 12th, 2019 for a derogatory mark which took 80 points away from my credit score. The car was paid in full on May 24, 2019. They lied to me and when I called them back to complain, they stated that they didnt have a recording of the call. How in the world does that even work? Not only that, they claim they update the credit reporting every 30 days. Well, mines was updated to current instead of being updated to paid in full. How does the government allow people like them to screw over consumers? They can basically do what they want, lie and screw your credit over and still keep their business.

Now I'm stuck and that's the only negative thing on my report. I was at 100% on time payments on my credit report and now it's at 98% because they lied to me and stated that they will wait to report. If they report every 30 days, why did they report the derogatory mark on the 12th of May and not the end of May? I paid it off on May 24, 2019. See attachment.

They screwed me and I want my credit score back to where it was and they should have to pay all the People they have screwed over. They need to be held accountable for their actions.

Santander Consumer USA vehicle repossession

My car was repossessed in December of 2018 by Santander dba Chrylser Capital. I had belongings in that car totaling $1, 000 that I now have no clue as to where they are. Among the items that I lost there were court documents, glasses and clothes, not to mention other items that were of more personal value. When I added up how much I actually lost, it totaled $1, 000. I contacted Chrylser Capital on February 27th, 2019 to find out where my things went to add I never received a letter telling me where it was. I found out it was with Del Mar Recovery Services. I spoke with Karina, the claims manager, and after she investigated my issue, she informed me that my things were discarded because they never received a Personal Property notice so that they of contact me to retrieve my things before they were discarded. When I contacted Chrylser Capital to let them now that I needed to file a claim with them because they did hire not send the form for my personal property, I was told they needed to listen to a call I made to the company in December 2018 to listen for any mention of personal property. I was told because there was no mention of personal property made, they were not responsible.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I have had a Santander Auto loan since 2016 and my payments have been going towards my interest rather than my principal. I feel that they are ripping customers off . I have spoken to customer service and they give me run around about daily interest rate. I have told them that the way it is going with them applying payment towards interest only how is my principal going to be paid off.

Santander Consumer USA deceptive lending practices, undisclosed interest rates, lies and fraudulent practices

I purchased my car through hertz interest rate 17%. I made my payment no problem until March. Payment was due on the 16th I was unemployed so I had to wait til I received my income tax. I have a disability so I called and paid by phone each time. On April 4th 2019 I called to make my payment and they told me I owed $872.00 I was past due for 3 months. I have short term memory loss so I didn't question the amount until a few days later. I called back and talked to them again and was told I wasn't past due 3 months just two and it was an error. I checked my credit bureau and Transunion told me I was reported by Santander as 1 payment behind for March but my score dropped 166 points? I called Santander and spoke with Latoya at the executive office who tried to confuse me with a bunch of jargon, then lied and told me I was past due for Feb and March. She never explained the interest rate scam they run on consumers but was quick to tell me I owed for May which I paid over the phone again. I told her I needed to get more info on the matter and agreed we'd talk again. Instead I received a letter from her stating the matter was resolved and closed. I emailed and called repeatedly to no avail. I then received a letter stating they received my disputes and they wrre looking into it and would get back to me. Nothing. Then I emailed again and cc'd the Consumer financial protection bureau, and the corporate officers at Santander. In response Santander sent me a letter claiming they received my cease and desist request and per my request they would no longer be contacting me by phone or mail! (See uploaded document) I never sent a cease and desist, it is a blatant lie to cover their behinds for refusing to address my disputes. I have filed a complaint with FTC & the CFPB and have retained legal counsel. These parasites feast on vulnerable consumers. They were fined millions in Nov 2018 by the CFPB and they are still engaging in deceptive lending and not disclosing the illegal interest rate scam. See the attached it is proof positive that they know what they are doing is illegal and outline their concerns about consumers retaliating in protest and of getting caught and fined by industry regulators. This is unacceptable and why are they not under the regulations watchful eye?
See page 5 & 6 of the report uploaded outlining their intent and greed.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I think they sold me a lemon, transmission went out a yr after purchasing, ford refused to fix due to their lack of informing consumers of transmission warranty extension. Santander repoed and charged off as bad debt. Never got the opportunity to retrieve my property from the car. Informed them that it is against the law to keep my property and never got specific instructions on how to go about and retrieve it.

Santander Consumer USA fees and interest applied to loans

Currently have multiple reporting on my credit from santander on all of the reporting agencies which is illegal. This is hindering me from being able to purchase a new car with a good interest rate. I have attempted multiple times to get them removed due unethical business practices but failed. They harassed me by phone for years calling multiple times a day to receive payments. They also were not completely honest about the payments and interest applied

Santander Consumer USA will not close out my loan

Santander has not been reporting my payments to the credit burial for two years...
I just recently refinanced my car with my bank with a lower interest rate, and the loan was satisfied by my credit union. Well Santander posted the check, removed the check, charged me a 20.00 fee and increased my payoff amount. Santander told me that my bank called and told them the account number on the check was incorrect, which I knew was false information, so I went down to the bank and we canceled the first cashiers check and the bank reissued and overnighted a check. I called this morning to see if the check had been received and posted to my account, I was transferred to the loss and recovery department and asked how I would like to satisfy my debt... This is an absolute nightmare... I can not understand how I bought a car for 12, 000 in 2015 and here I'am in 2019 still owing 7, 000... with all of the payments that I have made in the past and current... and now they aren't accepting the check that the bank is sending.

I continuously called Santander yesterday, was transferred to many different departments, jotted down names, conversations and recorded all of them, I thought if they can record me then I can record them. I asked if they received the overnight check that my credit union sent to pay the car off, they yelled, got loud, and one young lady asked for me to call my bank because my bank was responsible for Santander not receiving the overnight payment. I told the lady, that was a lie and I was there when the credit union issued the check and overnighted it. She went on belittling me and this continued for about a good 10 minutes. I then asked her if we were on a recorded line she said yes, I then informed her that our conversation was being recorded on my end as well, and if the payment wasn't posted and cleared by tomorrow morning, (today) I will be using all of my collected evidence from each and ever call as well as my log of names and the credit bureau information to get a lawyer to sue and adding my name to the long list of class action suits against the company that I found... I told her that I'm not the only one Santander is doing this to and how sad for all of us trying to pay these MAFIA LOANS OFF! Well this morning I checked and my account with Santander is closed. Amen! I will be keeping all of my recordings.

Santander Consumer USA predatory auto loan

I cosigned a loan for my ex-boyfriend. The dealership did a "bait and switch" on me at last minute with the company and the terms. We purchased Gap and now I'm reading that theirs only covers 120% of value, yet due to their interest rates and fees - its impossible to ever get out of being upside down. If I had known about this company, I never would have signed. Cant refi because after 4 yrs, only 7k has gone to principal. Its 14k upside down. Now his diabetes is causing amputations, etc so he's not working while in hospitals. This loan is seriously going to be the death of me.

Santander Consumer USA santander auto loan

I have been laying 2 years and the principal has not reduced at all on my auto loan. I have made payments and after looking at the account,
Nothing has been taken off the loan amount. Payments are 618.00/ month. It would seem something should have gone to the principal by now. I have not been able to resolve this with the company yet. I would like to know what I can do to rectify this situation. I feel like I am being taken advantage of.

Santander Consumer USA overpayment/ harassment

I called to make a payment and once I made that payment the lady on the phone congratulated me saying I have less than 2000 owed on my account. The following month I went to pay my bill My balance was back up to 5000. I hurried to pay them off. I was really upset because they could not explain to me how my balance increased over the last few months of my loan . I tried to pay my loan months in advance so I was under the assumption that I did not owe a balance until one day I received a bill when I enquired about the bill they said I can only pay 3 months in advance and they could allocate my money how they see fit. Keep in mind I wrote on the memo line what month the payment was for. This company is a scam don't trust them
