Santander Consumer USA Overcharging

When I bought a used car i from Sands Chevy in Nov 2015. I put @10k down they financed a 7k loan iwith Santaner. I was told the loan was for 4% & there was a 2 week grace period every month. I repeatedly asked for a contract that I could refer to but was never given one. That always bothered me. I paid $216 for 3 years. There were a few months that I couldn't make a payment so I contacted them about that & they said they would put that payment on the back of the loan. Again I never received any paperwork about that or was informed of that would change my loan in any way. The last few months I had my car I was late 2 months but I did pay & was current. My payments were due in the 15th of the month. Then the next month I was late & they repode my car on the 15th of the next month. Then shortly after was told they sold it at auction for 4k & that I still owe them 6k. How is that possible? it's so much more than the 7k I financed & already paid $216 for 3 years. Dealing with them was always confusing & they were always so vague about the terms of the loan. It was bad enough not having the vehicle & inpacting my credit score but now an attorney has contacted me about paying them the 6k they say I still owe. What I find strange is that they sent me a check for $25. I still have the check uncashed.

Desired outcome: I would like them to dismiss the 6k they say is owed.

Santander Consumer USA Repossession

I purchased my car 2018. Since than.. 3 repossessions were done. The last one being this tuesday. Before that was nov2021. They were rude. They never sent a letter.. They told me pay.. Whatever amount.. Which is supposedly misc fees. Car fee. Repo fee.. And claimed I start fresh. At current date.. I am not due until july12,2022. But yet they took my car. I 0aid every month.. They tell me I owe 755.00 in some entitled misc fee. Repo fee 500.00 and car payments at 432.00.. How? Not due till july 12th. What misc fee and why repo fee when this was done illegally. Can't get answers except.. That I need to pay 1800.00 to get release. They tow it an hour away from my home. This is unexceptable

Desired outcome: My car back and to prove I am up to date and they are scam company

Santander Consumer USA There is no such thing as the 15 day payoff amount, hope santander gets life in prison

This is about what immoral inhumaine practices Santander uses to trap

you paying them the rest of your life ! a second attempt on refinancing this Simple Interest Loan . Santander Consumer USA failed to explain to me and I think this is immoral and against the law but what they said to me was on June 23rd my remaining account balance was $6340.01 , but the payoff amount announced as $6240.01 which today they have no record of the system reporting (conveniently). So the reason for the difference was if I had send them a total amount via debt card that day of $6340.01 we would have been all squared away, But they have a system that allows for the prompt to tell the customer a different amount (lower) that is not matching with the balance on the account owed which is obviously what they are fixated on. I'm convinced that even saying to me that they have a 15-day payoff amount it's actually not that and again they are trying to spin their scammy ways forcing the customer to pay all the unpaid interest on the account (another way for them to take advantage of their customer using simple interest methodology. They repeatedly told me that we wrote down the wrong amount which should have been $6420.01 not $6240.01. The facts are I called the number for a payoff amount on Thursday the 23rd of June and the prompt at that time said the payoff amount is $6240.01 and it's good until 7/7/2022. I went to my Credit Union to refinance and the teller asked me to make sure. We called together and all three of us me the teller and my wife heard exactly the same number and day honor till which was $6240.01 good until 7/7/2022. and so the payoff check of $6240.01 was cut that day and send to Santander next day air.The next day Friday the 24th I called Santander again to check on the payoff amount and the prompt then said the payoff amount was now $6434.58 and good until 7/11/2022 Monday the 28th I called to Santander to check to see if they were processing the check they received from my Credit union and they said they received the amount and will process asap and that it could take some time. That whole time no one from Santander told me I would be short $141.21. They said I would pay off once the check was processed. Today Tuesday the 28th I called Santander and they said they processed the check however it was not enough to zero the loan out. and I owed $141.21 because my account balance was higher that the payoff amount ? What?! This is what a payoff amount is supposed to be "an honored mount with allocated time it is good for . To which I paid this overwhelming additional amount of $141.21 using a debit card today with and extra service charge on the phone with Santanders automated billing service .I am so outraged that Santander is forcing me to pay additional interest on top of a payoff amount promised to be good until 7/72022. They are not trust worthy and in my mind thieves and scammers and fraudsters. In addition to having to pay a lot more to Santander then asked to pay Santander is are now not apologizing for the mixed total payoff numbers and putting the blame back on me and the teller saying that we did not write down the information correctly on the 23rd. All of this is adding up to keep me trapped with Santander. Last year in October I tried to refinance the same vehicle and Santanders title division purposely sent a black and white copy of the original title to CA dmv to turn it into California title. Just to delay refinancing and time out my refinancing application while paying them interest after interest payments and they will do anything to keep the customer paying Santander Even worse It took 3 months more for Santander to realize that they never actually sent the hardcopy title to California DMV. In 2022 I had to repeatedly call for Santander to do the right titling process and had to wait 3-4 month s more for them to process the auto title to new state. Now that my title is ready for my Credit union to do the refinancing Santander is coming up with multiple ways of trapping me with them and forcing me to over pay what I owe on my account . To this day I wish Santander would burn to the ground because they are pretty much Satan! I will never forget how sinister Santander is and would never wish even my worst enemy to have any dealings with Santander. Warn the public! This Santander is basically a scam company that needs to be fully audited for their crimes and practices. I'm not the first (livid customer) but hopefully I'm the last outraged customer with Santander! I'm not holding my breath trough

Desired outcome: refund of my additional payment today of $141.21 or even better the refunding me the whole $6420.01 payoff amount

Santander Consumer USA security of my accounts

Dear Bank Officer,

My name is Hongshao Zuo with SSN [protected] living in 895 Dedham St. Newton, MA 02459.

On 05/17/2022 a transfer of $39000.00 made from my one checking account to another account by unknown person. Soon after that I went to your Bank Branch in Newton center and made a transfer such money back to the original checking account. I am very nervous for someone doing transfer without my permission and at the same time I asked your bank officer to provide me a formal written report in 2 weeks about $39000.00 transferred on 05/17. But unfortunately, I have not received the report yet so far.

As you know fraud was happened in my accounts during the past several weeks, since then 2 new checking accounts created and UID/Password changed several times. I appreciate for your great efforts for protecting me including do not let me transfer fund by myself on line even between my own accounts. For doing transfer the only way for me is to go to bank office with your officer’s help.

This time, I only need a written explain for what happened for transferring of $39000.00 on 05/17/2022.

Best regards

Yours

Hongshao Zuo

Santander Consumer USA Auto Financing

This company is horrible to use. I brought a car back in 2013 for $11,000. Over the years I pain over $14,000 on the care before volunteering to give it back due to lack of employment for health reasons. They sold the car, wrote off $10,000, reported it to the IRS as a cancellation of debt. I had to pay taxes on it because they filed it as an 1199C and was considered part of my income and they are still trying to collect over $12000 from me. This should be considered tax fraud. After 11 years they are still reporting it negatively to my credit report. Don't use these crooks there are better companies out here that will work with people with bad credit. Santander Consumer company are horrible money hungry company

I can understand interest but charging more than double of what the car is purchase for is ridiculous. This company was sued in court for these same reason and they lost. The explanation just proves that this is a company with poor business practices that takes advantage of people. Their reviews are low for a reason. Do you research and find another company. There are better companies out here that works with people without trying to take advantage.

Santander Consumer USA Auto loan

Each month the bill arrives 10-14 days after due date! This creates late charges and more debt. Timely payments mean nothing. Attempts to resolve the issue with Santander have been unsuccessful.

Desired outcome: Resolution of the problem and possible refund of late charges. The current method just creates automatic late charges that benefit Santander.

Santander billing arrives12-14 days after the due date causing late charges. I called Santander and explained the situation in an effort to resolve the issue. I was told to "just pay the bill on time". Further efforts to explain the situation was a waste of time.

Santander Consumer USA 2019 Ford ecosport

I got a vehicle financed through Santander in December 2021. It took me til April to get my tag to start with. Owed April's payment called April 27th talked to Keyana told her I would make my payment on 5/11 she stated that was fine and she would notate my account. No explaining anything no mail no phone calls. Well my vehicle was repoed last night. Called this morning and their saying nothing was noted. And before I could get my car back they are telling me I would have to pay the full pay off on my car. I kept asking questions until I got hung up on. DO NOT FINANCE anything through this company you will lose your money...Stay away from this place

Santander Consumer USA Refund not received

Santander is the worst bank and they have the worst customer experience. They sent me a refund back in march bec of an overpayment I made, after a week when I finally paid off my loan I checked the NorthLane account which us the account where my refund was in and it showed there is a payment reversal. I contacted Santander THREE TIMES and they gave me the most vague answer on why the payment reversal happened and they said they are not sure on when will I get my refund. like what do you mean you are not sure? you are basically saying I will never get the refund which is over two hundred dollars. I am tired of contacting them multiple times and getting no info about my payment.

for background information: I made a $5k overpayment on accident because their website was lagging and if didnt show me if the payment went through or not. when I contacted them they made me seem that im lying and they kept saying the financing team does not see the overpayment on their end. THAT WAS BECAUSE THE FINANCING TEAM DID NOT TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK AT THE PAYMENT I MADE. I spoke with five supervisors and one of them was so disrespectful. finally the last supervisor sent a request for the financing team to check the payment I made for the THIRD TIME and after a week it finally showed on my account the payment I made. its been almost five months and I havent gotten the rest if my refund. They are so emotionally exhausting to deal with I cried so much because of them. Like how hard is it to send a damn refund. I am a struggling college student and I already have so much debt and on top of that this bank is stealing my money.

Desired outcome: SEND. ME. MY. REFUND.

Santander Consumer USA Auto finance

I want a new class action lawsuit! This company is in serious violation of court orders! My purchase was 1/9/21 Santander claims they have had the loan since that date. Incorrect the loan wasn’t approved until 2.1/21! Although my first statement shows me already behind bc they charged me for a JANUARY PAYMENT they did not have financing out on my purchase, so they back dated! Also upon Arkansas Attorney General, Santander never even checked my credit they just took the loan and gave me an interest rate of 17.6% which is robbery!

Also they take the entire payment and applied to interest and then says your late and so u get slapped with theses charges and all the sudden I owe more on your car than before! They report negatively to the credit bureau in order to keep you from another loan by reporting late payments! Also GAP had to be added and it was also financed with my loan. Im calling for another class action against this company! They are completely disregarding the judges orders and still falsify information. This is the most deceptive auto finance company I’ve ever delt with! Look below at the photos and how literally this company is working!

Desired outcome: Deficient waiver and title , payoff , restitution

Santander Consumer USA Santander auto loan

Got approved for a auto loan with Santander In 2017. The only income I had personally was a $1200 SSI check and was approved for a loan payment of $585 a month which was half my income. When getting approved for the loan they included my husbands income and paystub as mine without him being there and without him being on the loan. I’ve fallen behind within the first year of having the loan as the SSI ended and my husband could not afford 2 vehicles. I believe it is illegal for them to use his income as mine without him being a co-signer on the loan. I should have never been able to get the loan with a $1200 a month income. I was never sent a post card for the settlement lawsuit with Santander I knew nothing of it until a few days ago. They paid off and sent titles to all these people that were given loans they could not afford due to the lawsuit. I should have been included in that law suit. I called Santander and asked them about this and if there was any help they could offer me before repoing my car and they said I needed to double up on my payments I can’t even make my regular monthly payment how am I to double up payments. The interest rate on my loan is ridiculous and I owe so much more on the loan than what the car is worth.

Desired outcome: Should be given them same treatment/deal as the others that were included in the settlement offer lawsuit

Santander Consumer USA Car loan

I received a car loan from Santander Consumer for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. One year after I received the loan, In July of 2015, I developed Breast Cancer and I contacted Santander for help because I didn't know if I was going to be able to work. I was receiving Chemo. and radiation. They gave me a month and then I was going to resume payments. Interest and late fees continued to a crew. My job was paying 11/hour as a respite care worker. The interest on the loan was over 26%. I continued, to pay 400.00 per month. And I continued to contact them about my situation. I even offered the car back to them. Finally I voluntarily asked to have my car repossed, in 2019. I have been on disability since 2019. They have me listed on my credit report as a repossession and I owe them 13,000.

Desired outcome: I would at least like the 13,000 taken off my credit report and if there's monies left on the settlement, I would like to be part of that.

Santander Consumer USA Keeps charging my account after I have refinanced with another bank and they sent them a payoff check

I recently joined a new bank and they sent a payoff check to Satander and it had said the account was closed. Today on 3/11/22 I was charged by them and in my Satander Consumer account it only reads the last payment was the payoff check so how is my account closed and im still being charged? On top of that the payoff check exceeded the amount I owed so they owe me money.

Desired outcome: To return my money and to stop taking money out of my account.

Santander Consumer USA Late charge added to credit report during refinancing

Hello,

I wanted to reach out with a payment issue I have. I have been a customer with santander for the past 3 years and 11 months and during this I have never been late on a payment. I have recently had my car refinanced from Santander to another company. The other company called Santander and received a payoff quote for a 30 days period starting on January 20th. I stayed in close contact with Santander during this process and keep them informed. Since this refi process took a little longer than expected I wanted to defer my December payment and spoke with a representative and was told that I could just pay 198.00 instead of a full payment. I let the representative know that I didn't get paid till the end of the month. I was told this would be fine just to stay in contact. I called spoke with another representative and paid the 198.00. I was told everything was good and my refinance should be done shortly after and was completed on February 14, 2022. Before closing a 30 day late charge come up on my credit on February the 11th. I called on the 11th and spoke with someone at Santander and was not given an opportunity to speak about my issue. I have had a great relationship with Santander until this issue. I have always tried to stay in contact with this company and would still be with this company if I could have refinanced to a lower interest rate. I called today on 2/15/22 just to check and make sure I didn't owe anything else and was told that I had over paid in January and now would be receiving a 200.00 check back as a refund. I am requesting to have the late charge taken off my credit. This was a miscommunication about the payoff 30 days and payments during this refinance. I am applying for a home loan and need to see if this can be removed. I have been blessed to work with some of the friendly service staff at this company and hopefully will be doing business with Santander in the future. Please let me know if you can help me with this issue.

Thanks again for the help!

Desired outcome: Have the 30 late charge removed from Credit

Santander Consumer USA Santander Consumer U.S A.

My car was repossessed they gave me a car my credit score was poor my payment total $624.00 month.I have had a major hard time with everything going.Especially during this Time with pandemic being a situation.I was in process of getting some help they were highly aware of the process and they took my car on January 4th 2022.I already had spoke to them in regards to me getting help to pay anything that was pass due to keep my vehicle. They made sure ironically to take my vehicle so it would be harder to get back the vehicle.Does anyone know what I'm able to do.Financially I have been experiencing hardship in the last few months or more they took my car ,they gave me a car with monthly payments that I honestly cant afford my score was poor and now it's going to be even more damaged due to repossession. I'm a single mom with 2 teen daughters trying to make things work.Santander Consumers U.S.A. knew my situation and still took my vehicle so now I will have fees and more harm to my financial situation as is.

Santander Consumer USA Car loan

I fell behind on my payments. I missed October 2021-January 2022. I had a baby and due to medical conditions with my pregnancy I could not make payments. I was previously employed as over the road truck driver. I explained this to them on 02/03/2022. I also informed them that I was doing Uber and had an interview with my local hospital. They explained to me what I needed to pay ($1551.44) and that I need to have full coverage on the vehicle in order to get it back. I got the money the next day (2/4/22) and when I called them to pay they stated that I did not qualify to get the car back because I did not have proof of income. They never explained that to me the day before. Then they informed me that they could not give me the details of the reinstatement process. Then I hung up and called again and spoke with another person and she tells me that once a denial is submitted it cannot be appealed or reversed regardless if I have the money or obtain employment.

Desired outcome: Pay my past due balance of $1551.44 and get my car out immediately.

Im now in repossession and they want 3100 to get it out of it. I can get the money in 2 weeks . I just need to know from someone if they usually repo in a shorter time than that. Worst finance company !so I got put out off work December 2021 due too my pregnancy being high risk & I filed my unemployment right away unfortunately my dr office took almost 2 months to input there information so it took a toll on me financially and I was getting behind on my car payment but only January 2022& February 2022 was approaching & I started receiving calls that I would get a repo so I finally called them explaining I was going thru a financial hardship & if it was possible to get an extension?because I couldn’t control the unemployment process & they said no because I didn’t have no income & it’s very upsetting knowing we’re still in a pandemic and the unemployment process had changed during the pandemic because of all the fraudulent stuff that happened it affected my unemployment process I cannot believe Santander wouldn’t accommodate me during this difficult time I’ve had my car for 2 years & never missed a payment or been late until now as off January 2022 & February 2022 approaching I didn’t expect to get behind. and the way the supervisor talked too me very unprofessional stating “he wanted to help but they wouldn’t until I for sure had unemployment coming in”& after reading recent reviews I’m not alone it’s good too know how much help they are!well someone is going thru hardships during a pandemic & medical issues they don’t care too accommodating or help during difficult times so until then imma hope my unemployment comes in soon because I will never be calling them knowing they don’t help you in any way shape or form all they want is your money and too mess up your credit

Santander Consumer USA Customer service

I hope this is an easy fix.

I work for a non-profit that assists Veterans with their bills. The problem I encountered is actually common when dealing with Customer Service reps. Once I have all the confirmed all the information we need on a veterans account I need to obtain a copy of the corporations IRS W-9 form for tax purposes. Since this is not something that customer service usually deals with they have no idea how to assist me with this request. Once we have a W-9 on file we never have to ask for it again.

In order to help non-profits like us to assist your customers please make sure there is a way for them to direct theses requests to the proper department.

Finally I need to request a copy of the IRS W-9 form for Santander to be sent to The Veterans Of Foreign Wars of the U.S. so that we can assist one of your customers who has applied to our program. [protected]@vfw.org 406 W. 34th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64111 Fax: [protected]

Desired outcome: I need to request a copy of the IRS W-9 form for Santander so that we can assist one of your customers who has applied to our program. [protected]@vfw.org 406 W. 34th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64111 Fax: [protected]

Santander Consumer USA Auto loan

I have been having trouble with Santander from the start. I was paying my payments on time and was told at one point and time that I CAN pay it early. In doing so I was penalized for early payment, and they put my money on the principal. Santander wouldn't even reverse it to my payment. You talk and try to get an understanding with one representative to find out in the end that was the wrong advice giving. I ended up borrowing money to catch up because they were telling me that they would repo my vehicle. they still wanted more money. They are so Bogus. I called to see what I can do, and they told me they will hold two months payment from October and November, and I pay in December just to get a call back that I am 3 months late and was threaten with repo again. I had no other choice but to get another vehicle to get away from them I told them that I couldn't afford it and they still saying that I owe $2000 in interest it bought the payment back up from when I first got the vehicle. I told them to just come pick it up and where it was which was on 2/2/2022 at another car dealership . The car dealership told them who to ask for when they come pick up the vehicle. I WILL NEVER FOOL WITH SANTANDER AGAIN AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THEM.

I purchased a vehicle from a dealership on 5/15/2022. The car was financed through s

Santander. After signing the loan contract I was told that I would recieve a statement within 45 days to make my first payment. I recieved a call from the finance manager at the dealership saying that Santander dropped the ball and we would have to go a different route. The sane day calls are being made to the references I provided at the time of purchase making it look like I've not made payment or I've fallen behind on the car loan. To date I have not recieved a statement from Santander nor any communication from them.

Santander Consumer USA Predatory lending

I purchased a car that is financed through Santander Consumer USA in April, 2019. The sale price for the vehicle was 19k but I was somehow approved for financing through Santander, even with a 500 credit score. Now I know why I was approved. I pay $450 a month and after 3 years, I still owe $17, 900! I have struggled to make the $450/month payment but have forced myself and my kids to go without in order to pay this car loan because I do not want to make my credit any lower and because I need the transportation for myself and my family. I asked Santander for help, told them I can not afford the payments and the only suggestion they ever have for me is to refinance! Tried that 6 times and never get approved because I am upsidedown in the loan and my credit is poor. They prey on subprime consumers and leave us in horrible financial conditions and offer no help! I would rather be without a car than to continue paying $450 a month and getting nowhere near the principal balance of the loan. I need help!

Desired outcome: I would like my contract ended, the car returned, and Santander removed from my credit report.
