Santander Consumer USA Vehicle loan

I took out a loan on a vehicle causing just over $8K, made a $5K down payment and wanted to build my credit by financing the $3K. However, three (3) years after purchase I still have a payoff over $1800, and several months over the last year I have been making nearly double payments. I have several notices on my credit that I am 180 days late when I am not. There are miscellaneous charges on my account that can't be explained by a representative when I speak with the customer service department. 3 years to pay back $3K with more than minimum payments and still owe over 2/3's the amount of initial loan is ridiculous. I want to join the class action law suit.

Desired outcome: Relief from excessive interest and miscellaneous fees.

Santander is the former HSBC! They are a rip off, took a loss and traded the car, so I could rid of them! I think the are just like Reguonal Acceptance Corporation, SNtander nd Regional should be shut down by the Better Business Bureau! Nobody should be allowed to do what they do to the customers

Dang, read my case above. I started with a $25, 000 loan...it's been five years I have paid monthly over $650/month for a used car at 26%...My pay off says I owe $27, 000... yet after 5 years I have paid them over $35, 000.00. I have exact same issues and they conveniently have no record or statements on file from the beginning of my loan to show record keeping? I requested electronic statements...got a few here and there. Good luck! Let me know if you get any resolve. You should be reimbursed any/all interest you paid that was above and beyond the breach of contract with abusive fees, etc.

Santander Consumer USA Pay off for loan

On 6/28/21 I called Santander to get a payoff for my line of credit and to give them my banking information to pay off the loan. After finding out what the payoff was and giving the agent my banking information he said it was complete. The next day I checked my bank account and realized they had taken $3015 extra out of my account. I immediately called and spoke with Ginny a supervisor who said she would look into it and get back to me. The following day I called Santander again and spoke to another supervisor named Teresa who said she would look into it and call me back by 3:00 PM, this was at 1:21 PM. I advised her that I needed to be reimbursed ASAP because I had already written checks that we're going to cash and then bounce because they took the extra $3015 out of my account. I don't know what is taking so long, they can see that they took out the extra money and I don't know why they can't fix this problem quick. My bank is going to charge me service charges for every checked it bounces and there are several. They've already charged me for insufficient funds as soon as they took that extra $3015 out. This is ridiculous! I have added screenshots of my checking account showing the transactions that Santander took out.

Desired outcome: Repayment of overcharge

Santander Consumer USA Auto loans

I have finally finished paying off Santandar Auto Loans. However, I thought that my principal was paid off at the end of March which was my maturation date. I did realize that I had late/misc fees and promised to take care of them to receive my title at a later date to reprieve title. Funds were low due to pandemic employment issues. However, I was determined to continue paying my car note because I knew I was almost done! The end of April I received a call that I still owe $$ on the principal of my loan. I was confused and didn't see how even with explanation. I explained that it was impossible to pay anything that day due to my financial situation and not and I was clearly under the impression I was done with them and began to pay off other things. Requested pay history and contract May 3rd (I was no longer able to access my account due to I reached my maturation date). Received my pay history electronically - I still to this day haven't received contract via USPS. Apparently, they notified credit bureaus that I was 30 days late. Between this time I received a phone call from a very rude man who told me it was impossible to give me any sympathy regarding my credit and this was simply my fault. May 14th paid the principal they said was owed (I can only pay on phone with their automated system). Needless to say they took what I owed on principal and placed a very small amount to towards the principal. May 28th I called to see what my balance was and I received two different amounts one verbally and the other via automated it was questioned. Somewhere between all that time I received not such a great note telling me what I owed by a certain time which was June which was another amount which was lower than the amount told on May 28th. Needless to say I paid the higher amount - just wanted to be done. Well all was paid May 28th my credit was then reported again by this company 60 days late. As of now I have attempted to dispute my credit and and each time nothing is never removed not to mention I'm still confused about the late payment reported for May. All this to say regardless of the misinformation and miscommunications as I continue to go over my pay history it looks as if I've also overpaid. It is also usually a disgrace how more money (extra money) was overpaid was put toward everything else other than my principal.

I am requesting the following if there has been overpayment that it be refunded and also that my credit does not reflect anything negatively during April and May due to misunderstanding and clearly a mistake, etc.
Thank you for your endeavors

Santander Consumer USA Have been sending missed payments from jan up to now june 2021.

This company has been sending missed payments from jan up to now june 2021 for a car that I finished paying for. That is the worse company ever. No one knows what they're doing over there. They hired a whole bunch of unqualified workers all over the world so they can pay them 10 c per hour to do the jobs. No wonder why santander usa ranks so low. I finished paying my loan a while ago, they're still sending missed payments for months to the credit bureaus, when I contacted them, my customer service agent was talking to me from the caribbean, transferred me to another supervisor in the caribbean as well, they had no clue what I needed. I was told to contact another department. That's how low they are.
Santander usa needs to contact all credit bureaus asap and remove all those negative things on my report. You have couple days to do that. Whole bunch of thieves.
Worst company to get a loan from. People should stay away from this company.

Santander Consumer USA Car loan

I purchased a car and it went trough Santander. While at the dealership I spoke to Santander on the phone because I was concerned about the amount of my monthly payment they then told me I could have it refinanced in 6 months when the 6 months passed I contacted them about the refinance and they informed me they did not refinance loans that I could go through another source. So they completely mislead me on that then the carona virus hit and it ended my job so I had to get assistance from Santander before it was all over I owed more than I financed on the car. I never understood how I was able to get this car because my debt to income ratio was not even near what it would be to get this car but they are trying to repossess my car and I have had to go and get a job to try and save my credit they have lied on the paper work saying that I had returned payments t5hat happened once and my bank contacted them to let them know it wasn't at my fault the money was there and was still there some how the wrong number got entered in but of coarse it is never there fault. They take no fault how do you give a person a auto loan that only brings home 915.00 a moth a 738.00 a month car payment and then tell him to make all payments on time for 6 months and refinance. Nothing but lies!

Desired outcome: They pay me for the hell they have caused in my life .

Santander Consumer USA Disputed recurring unauthorized amounts... Allowed again and reported as unknown.

Account holder only non interest checking USA for 3+ yrs. Never any issues worth repeating. 2p21 exploded and 5 debit cards reissued and constant funds unknown being taken. Inability to access those funds I have available and embarrassing declined in process endured... More than just single incident...any amount not authorized has beem swiftly reported and disputed. 10 days to replace fraud debit is punitive and archaic. More vital the amounts were the identical 202.50 and occurred 11x in one day from same vendor.. No alert issued.. Overdraft instead banging up to 5 of those foreign charges.
Declines after food shopping at checkout... So awesome...
Thats Feb... A charge for 89.95 and 89.92 processed the day before they aggressive ones. I missed awaiting my access via new card... And reported as soon as back in control of access device.. 180 is not a small sum.. Single mom... Pandemic etc... Provisional credit issued.. Credits as well for the 11x 202 and fee4s in combination.
The same amount is again processed for April 15th 2021. Identical sums except for the trans description which showed another entity. The same phone number is consistent though.. Calles in 1st round of charges and insisted upon proof that no account for any viable personal info remaining . email confirmed that no such account was in database Two arrived.. For each fee I suppose...
The reprocessed identical charges are again not for my actions
They were reported in a single day and again called to confirm the nonexistent personal account or financial details

Bank did not refund these funds... Report on April 19th.. Notice for April 28th... Denied the charges as unauthorized and final decision states that upon request I may obtain"prompt" documents which were used to decide and proof these are in fact due to customer use...
I called... I called again
..i went to local branch... Waited 30 mins to only make following day alpt. Arrived and attended said appt and was unable to obtain these evidence documents notes to have influence and final theft of my acvount funds...
No customer service reps with common or more advances strengths via phone...
The notice denial for the amounts included inaccurate transaction details and included only one of the amounts when they appear in back to back and repeated amounts. The bank is a [censored] show...
My debit card again is locked first time ever they detected possible fraudulent Activity.. Saturday the 16th? Called... Disconnected after all verification complete.. Agent failed to call back not recorded any information or unblock of card.. Not re order for ner debit either.
Call again 40 mins with angry and unbelievable [censored] of agent. Sighs before any task.. Dismissive and provided info I already knew as inaccurate bases on the many cases of this difficult year...
I had to cancel the attempt due to the rising level of my annoyance and being detained to long and in supervision of my girls ...
I am irate and injured by santander and not honoring the obligations to secure my account after knowledge of the identical thefts months prior. Also the non production of information which they claim assisted to finalize a denial for refund which they docu is mine to view... I have evidence as well which is much more available and can't wait to use. They are untruthful and openly violated the Mass and Fed reg inc reg E debit...mastercars also offers some protection under their processing...

Desired outcome: Close my account and return funds taken an disputed

Santander Consumer USA Questionable

My husband received a bill from a debt collector with Santander as the original creditor. It says it was for an auto loan. We have no auto loans. We have never had a loan through Santander or Citi. The original account number on this paper reads [protected]. I need to figure out what it is that you are trying to collect for over $22, 000. I want all documentation. We do not have any auto loans.

Desired outcome: Information to start.

Santander Consumer USA My auto subprime loan, risc, harassment and violation of rights

I thought I could afford this car, bills and kids. Well in a normal loan I could have. As anyone who may be a consumer of Santander may already know, they are the prime example of a predatory lender. I have had my car loan with Santander for about three and a half years. I have paid this company $15777.55 plus I paid a $2000.00 down payment. Through my own personal knowledge, I have paid more than 90% towards interest 10% towards the actual principle. I still owe more than $16000.00 on this car. I have all statements from Santander of my on time and late payments. Santander has violated the consumer protection laws. I am proof of this. They have also violated the amount of interest a person can be charged during an auto loan, 16% is the highest. This is usury rates - is the act of lending money at an interest rate that is considered unreasonably high or that is higher than the rate permitted by law, this is why most people have complained about zero money towards their principle.
I did the real math my interest rate is 37%, It is time @santanderconsumerusa stops this mess and let's come together begin a lawsuit multi state lawsuit going again. To continue to do people so wrong! I have contacted my local AG, CFPD and anyone who would listen. I will be calling the dealership where I purchased my car, finding more government agencies.

Desired outcome: Loan forgiveness plus settlement

Santander Consumer USA Charge off and fraudulent loan

Santander was involved in a class action lawsuit which was settled this year 2021 and my loan was actually picked up by them within the dates off the settlement periods proclaimed. And whenever I mention this to the recovery department which is now who I'm automatically transferred to when I call they immediately tell me my account is not involved in that settlement, which is very interesting because I never said it was. They put me in a charge off and never notified me of that then made me scrape up 600$ and still they threaten to repossess my car and all the while they know when they picked up my loan they knew it was going to default because of the low credit score and the fraudulent credit application that the dealership filled out I just found out and there's just so much more to tell on both ends of this including the thing they have going with the awful dealership who I'm sure they do this with every time they come across someone in my situation. They pulled spot delivery scam on me however I have been doing my homework and they actually went beyond the 5 day period in which they had to find financing for the car that I originally signed for with Santander as the lien holder except this one detail they overlooked and that's their biggest mistake because the financial manager figured it out too when I checked my credit inquiry report the Santander inquiry for the date of the loan application for the car I drove off with thinking it was a done deal was never even done, so the dealership just put the name on the documents and never did run it through Santander at all not one time in 7 days it was only when they took the car away from me that they were running a inquiry and then told me they couldn't pick up the car I thought was mine and they took my paperwork and shredded it right in front of me but I held on to the only proof I still have and it's the envelope that had the lot keys for the original car that had Santander on the paperwork which the dealership is supposed to keep in my files and it's not there but I can actually sue them because I kept proof of the car and they don't know it! They put me in a car of their choosing which was wrecked and supposedly a certified pre owned vehicle with a 173 point inspection! Obviously they only inspected the one side of the car because the other side was completely side swiped and the mirror was hanging off the door and the inside was muddy and trash everywhere, it was more expensive than the other car but not as valuable and Santander picked that car instead and I had no paystub no good credit and they might as well have known I would default immediately! But the financial management person had me convinced that they would work with me now my credit is ruined and my car will be taken away and none of my payments have gone to anything except the interest

Desired outcome: Payoff my loan

I’m still pursuing this company since I’ve last reported they did indeed repossess my car and I also found out that they just settled yet another lawsuit this time just this past December 21, 2020 for falsifying reporting or not reporting accurate information or timely information as to people’s CRAs the bureaus to which they are required to keep updated on a monthly basis and they’ve been violating these very strict laws for years. Such as the case of my account. It’s absolutely ridiculous how difficult it is even to try to follow the things that they’ve come to report on my credit report. One says charge off one says delinquent and the write off date on one was back in March which I’ve actually paid 700$ since then but they concur I’m 107 days past due but according to my other credit report I have been 120 days past due and still no letter of default or written notice or one collection call that way they can accrue more interest then they aren’t supposed to be able to accrue interest on a loan that is charged off either so long as it’s been charged off since March I found it hard to believe because I made payments on January and February and in order to qualify for charge off status it has to be 180 days past due

Santander Consumer USA Loan forgiveness

I purchased a 2015 dodge back in 2019 in which was financed through santander consumer usa which started having a variety problems right away. After having it for a year and doing all types of maintenance on it I decided to trade the car in in 2020 for a 2019 dodge which also was financed by santander consumer usa. My 2015 model trade in value totaled up to 13000+ and my new car was worth 28000. I also put a down payment down for my new vehicle. Later I realize that with santander instead on my trade in value being added on to my new loan it never was. The total payout for my 2019 model loan instead of it being cut in half with the trade in value of my 2015 model, it sits at over 35, 000

Desired outcome: Complete loan forgiveness/relief

Santander Consumer USA Auto loan

Predatory lending. I have a high interest loan that I have made payments on for three years. I have racked up close to $20,000 worth of payments that went to interest. This company is ripping people off and can't ever explain why the principal balance does not decrease. It's sad, but, this situation leaves a lot of people drowning. I never missed a payment but, was told I did so.

Desired outcome: Repay me back some of my money

Santander Consumer USA Damaged my credit scores

On March 27th, 2015 I started my car loan with Santander, Each 27th of a month I was charged 287.93$ for my car payment.
All my payments paid on time with no late fees/issues.
Since I open my bank account (2011), I DIDNT change any of my Banking information.

All those years my payments received on time and I didn't receive any call regarding payment issues from Santander.

On March 18th, 2021, I noticed that on my Santander online profile I have a late fee of 4.93$.
I called Santander customer service and I was told that thanks to my payment history they will process a waiver to that fee and will charge the balance as they always did.

On March 24th, 2021, I checked again my online profile to make sure the fee waived and noticed that fee again.
I called Santander customer service, and I was told that the reason I saw the same amount again was because the manager views my file and waived the fee.
I asked the representative what my balance, he replies 98.77$ and I authorized him to charge my account for the last payment, He congratulates me on my final payment and I understand it a done deal and my account is good.

On April 2nd, 2021, I received a call from a Santander representative that told me my car was towed, I asked him why the towing company called him if I paid my car in full, He replies that its taking time to release their name as a lean holder (up to 30 days) and that's the reason the towing company called him and not me.
The morning after I released my car from the towing company and paid them in full.

On April 16th, 2021, I received an email that my credit score got decreased and when I logged in to my Credit Score account I saw a late fee with my car payment.
I called Santander customer service to understand why (If I already authorized to charge my account for 98.77$) they report a late payment to the credit companies.

The representative went over my history and told me that he can see that I always paid on time (Even in 2020 that I was unemployed ) and there's no manager in to take my call and to try again during the week.

On April 22nd, 2021 I called Santander and asked for a manager, Nicole answered me and told me as well that my history looks good, and then she transfers me to the executive manager (because she can't help me with credit reports), I was waiting for 5-10 minutes, then Nicole got to the phone again and tried to push my complaint to another day or to wait 24-48 hours for a call back from them, I insist and asked to keep waiting and speak to executive manager, after 5-10 someone pick up the call and checked my file..

He said that because they (as a lown company) authorize to charge the same amount only (287.93$) and my balance was different from the amount above they couldn't charge my account and this is why it became a late payment and that he cannot help me with my complain.

Santander Consumer USA Account issue and unreasonable bank fees

Due to the bank requirement for setting up an online account for funds transfers overseas in December 2019, I was instructed by the bank to pay the Initial Processing Fee worth of USD5, 250, then Activation Fee worth of USD 3,970, my account is been inactive until now. They even further asked me to pay a higher of USD 17,850 for swift fees, PND was being imposed on my account since then. It is an unusual practice for such International Bank to request its customer to keep paying fees and can't get access to any of their bank services. The website (https://santdronline.com/en/) was even being shut down since 9 April 2021. I sent emails through (customercare@santdronline.com) on 26 January and 13 April 2021 respectively but no feedback at all. I am so worried about
the safety of my account, and they should take my account issues seriously in a proper manner.

Desired outcome: Get access to start transferring money overseas

Santander Consumer USA Ripoff

My interest rate is 22.18%. When I make a payment, it all goes towards interest, not the principal. Do you know how long that will be before it's paid off. My husband said he would be dead before it's paid off. Stay far away from these people. My set payment is $385.00 and every month they want me to pay different amount. They said my loan did not qualify for the settlement. Why not, my interest rate is very high, I got the vehicle in the time frame and income has changed. There is no excuse for this.

Desired outcome: I want my payment and interest lower, or it paid off.

Santander Consumer USA Not happy with the service

I purchased a vehicle in 2006 and paid it off. I still have them reporting all the way from 2012 that I owe on the vehicle and it has affected my credit in many ways. I want it removed and updated and I want compensation for the damage they have done. This is unfair and something should be done about how they railroad their consumers in this unethical way.

Santander Consumer USA Predatory lending practices/repossession

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder from Stevenson Hendrix in July 2019 and the loan was through Santander. I asked a representative from Santander if I could pay in full after about 3 months after the purchase. I was told that was not allowed and could pay $2, 000 a month instead. I authorized a payment to come u of my bank account for $2, 000. They took that and also took out over $700 in another transaction that same day that I did not authorize. When Covid hit I lost my job. I needed help. They offered help but also increased my interest rate. I've paid more than what what the car was priced at already. Last night 3/21/2021 my car was repossessed after I was told by a Santander representative that it would they would allow me time to get my taxes back if I could pay the past due amount plus more. I need my car back! I want them to lower the interest and refinance the loan. Please

Desired outcome: Get my car back with lower interest and loan refinanced
