Samsung Internal cracks on screen

My husband and i, after much consideration, purchased a large samsung 50 inch plasma tv. We've had this tv for 4 months. A week ago a crack appeared. The tv was hung and has been hanging, on the wall, thanks to a quality monster brand mount. Nothing has moved, bumped or hit this tv in any fashion. We contacted samsung immediately. They had us fax over the purchase receipt and email photos. Based on the c****y point and shoot photos (Hard to see due to the glass screen glare/fuzz) they decided it was external damage and they refused to do anything about it. You cannot feel the cracks, um, because they are internal. We took the tv back to best buy, where we bought it, and a team of employees checked it out and said the cracks are absolutely internal and a flaw in the tv. We are outside of best buy's 90 day return policy, but, in all honesty, it's samsung's product and they should stand behind it!

Samsung refuses to send a live representative to our home to check the tv out. So we're just stuck with this flawed tv. We will absolutely steer clear of samsung and their products from now on. Our phones are samsung, they will be changed out. Our bluray player is samsung, that will be exchanged for a different brand.

Ps, i'm leaving this info on any and every forum I can find. If they buck up and replace/repair our tv, I will go back and update every forum I write on. =0) though that sour taste of bad customer service is sure strong right now!

We brought a 50 inch 3d TV series 4-490 serial no. Pn50c490b3dxza plasma TV.about four years, we couldn't decide what each other wanted for Christmas.so we both decide to get this TV fo our Christmas present. Came home and my wife told me that the TV made a popping sound and would not came on.never have been able to get it on.called Samsung up and told them the problem.they told me only had a year warranty on it nothing they could do about it.we got it on sale paid around 700.00 fo it or a little more.i hate to think that their TV doesn't last longer then that.i can remember when TV came out and they seen like they last forever.so we went out and brought a new TV. But it was not Samsung.i will never buy any of there products again Arcadia ind.

I have about the same issue, I went to plug in ps3 in hdmi slot and after turning it to access the rear inputs I heard a pop then the tv died tried turning back on to no avail and then I noticed a small spider type crack which appeared to b on inside, any way they were going to fix it, sent in a bunch o pics then a few days later the service guy asked if I could get a close up of crack, never should have touched it, picking I up to move caused the crack to grow from less then 2 " to now about 2 feet, called Samsung immediately and now they wont cover it even tho they seen the internal little kinda like a spider crack but from center of crack it prolly had 5 lines any way now they rnt going to fix it they should b held accountable for there poor workmanship, o and I have other older sony plasma that is in my kids room and it has even been hit b4 but still works and didn't crack but my 3d plasma that has never got even a scratch on it breaks just from turning it on it's base to plug in a ps3

I have the same problem only mine went out after plugging in a ps3 in hdmi and tv made pop noise then went dead, after trying to turn it on to no avail I noticed a small spider crack on the inside of glass barely showed up in pic, they tol me they were going to do a 1 time in home fix and had sent them about 27 pics, any way the service guy called me and asked if I could send him a close up of crack, I went to take the pic and rotated it on its base so I could get it at an angle, the only way the crack was visible, any way turning it made the crack which was about 2" total to now a 2 foot long very noticeable crack, I immediately contacted Samsung again and now they wont fix it even tho the pics clearly show that there was not a crack like that before, seems like a really crappy design flaw I have had many flat screen TV's plasma and lcd many a monitors too and have never had this happen to me before, altho this is my only Samsung tv, prolly why it was only 400$ for a 43" 3d plasma tv, if any 1 has a broke 1 without a damaged screen I will buy it for parts

My son threw a small toy and screen cracked and now tv has no picture. Of course the $300 warranty from pc Richards doesn't cover external damage. How convenient for them. Repair man told me it would cost about $1100 to replace screen so not worth it. So aggravating. Loss of $2500. The screen did crack way too easily and there should be some sort of coverage or compensation from store or samsung!
Has anyone had any luck with resolving this sort of problem?

I have the same problem. My Samsung 3D TV suddenly got an internal crack in it. It just went black. No sound. No picture. I went through the evaluation process, just do the could tell me that I caused physical damage to it. They basically called me dishonest. The crack is internal and no physical damage was done. They also said there was no appeals process, and they will not do anything to help repair the TV because physical damage is not covered under Warrentary. So I now have a $2700 loss.

My 59" D8000 was broken by a 2 oz child's toy. Yes it is physical external damage, however it broke way too easily. There is some type of stress internally and the panels are not well made. I hope someone files a class action lawsuit. I will never buy anything made by Samsung again. NEVER!

I agree completely,

have the same problem with my Samsung 58" plasma. My colleague had the same happen to him on the same day with his 65". Did same thing and Samsung customer service has been horrible. Says the damage is physical abuse, there is no damage whatsoever on the external glass yet the internal glass shatters in a star like pattern

I have researched this some to try to refute Samsung's response, the star shaped fracture is indicative of a physical impact, (look on forencics sites) However, does this make sense for the inner glass breaking.

either way, my argument is that clearly there is a manufactruring or design defect in the glass if so many panels are breaking in the same manner. Is anyone aware of any possible class action law suit against samsung for this. They just settled the classaction for the capacitor problem so maybe it will take a nother class action law suit to get them to move on this matter.

We had a 58" Samsung Plasma TV for a year. It was extremely hot when on. I called Samsung. They said all the plasma TV screens are very warm up to 107 degrees emmition. Our screen developed a star-burst crack. Sent pictures to Samsung. They also told us, it was hit with something. NO IT WAS NOT! Best Buy told us they sold the exact Plasma TV only a larger screen and the screen blew out of the entire TV. At the tune of $700 we could have replaced the screen. I don't think so with all the problems they have with this plasma TV and we are'nt taking a chance with a fire later on. Will NEVER buy Samsung product again. I find it hard to believe they are not aware of the default of the system. VERY ANGREY CUSTOMER. Noblesville, Indiana

SAME ISSUE!
Was watching our 59" plasma purchased Jun 2011. Me and my husband heard a "bop" type noise, the screen went white then black. We tried turning it off, then on. No picture only sound. We tried unplugging it and plugging it back in thinking it needed some sort of hard reset... and nothing. We contacted Samsung, and they advise us to inspect the tv. Upon inspection we noticed an internal crack. Could not be felt, only seen if looking directly at the tv. They told us to send in pictures, which we did. A couple days went by and we called them back since we hadnt heard from them. If we wernt placed on hold for long periods with apologies to follow, we were being transferred to another department. Total time in 3 days, 6 hours on the phone and at least half of that was being kept on hold, and we probably spoke to 20 different people. Anyways they said they deemed the tv as physical damage. I argued with them that I was 200% sure that his accusation was false. We were watching the darn thing when it happened! I agrued with them at least an hour that I would accept nothing less then to have someone experienced come out an inspect it versus them assuming something via photos. Tech comes tomorrow. And he actually said it is a common problem with large model samsung plasmas. You know thing is I would have no issue going out an buying another tv if me or my husband was a fault. But why warranty a product and clearly not own up to its fault. The only reason I am putting up a fight is cause they are making me sound guilty of something I am not. And that is the worst service of all!
Oh and btw: 8 days later... not even sound now. tv wont even turn on. Piece of garbage. I wish I could shove this hunk of junk up sumsungs ***

I am having the same problem, I just bought my TV on October 2011 and yesterday I was watching a movie by my self and the TV start going on and off, so I turned the TV off and turn it back on and still did the same thing and start flashing, so I unpluged it and plug it back and turn it on, it did wired noise and the TV went black and about 5 min later I notice there is an internal crack. I been searching online and looks like so many people having the same problem. I am waiting on tech to come to the house and see what could be done. I know this is defect, I worked with electronic for over 3 years and I know very well what's defect and what's not, if Samsung wont help me with this problem I will proceed with legal action with them, and will say goodbye Samsung, since I been very loyal to them and buy nothing except Samsung.

Samsung inferior product

On 1/8/2011 I purchased an upscale samsung range model ftq353iwux/xaa at hhgregg in brandon, fl. After noticing that the oven does not cook properly, I purchased a range temp gauge. I found that when the range pre heat alarm rings, the oven is actually 75 degrees below the set temperature. It takes the range an additional 20 to 30 minutes to reach the set temperature which negatively effects the cook times. I called samsung at [protected] and spoke to a & ldquo;cedrik” who refused to give his last name but gave an id #129. He advised that this was a common problem and to set the temp up an additional 75 degrees. This would be fine except after 20-30 minutes the oven temperature would be 75 degrees to hot. & ldquo;cedrik” was less than helpful. I would strongly advise anyone considering a samsung range to reconsider and look at ranges from reputable manufacturers.

Good luck to you.
My new Samsung 3D plasma TV die after 42 days. I have been waiting for service since Dec 3, 2010 - 145 days ago. The "Service Call Center" is useless & lied constantly.
On April 1st (day 120), someone from Samsung Electronics Canada called to offer me a Service Exchange. After another 25 days, nothing happens. She will not response to my phone messages & emails. Calling to the "Service Call Center" results in another 30+ minutes of lies. The person even told me they will have a NEW unit ship to me in 2 days.
However, we are supposed to get a "RA Credit" issued to FutureShop to do an exchange locally. So many times they told us something are coming in 3 weeks, then they changed the story so I need to call the "Service Call Center" again. My service ticket: [protected]
Can you imagine 145 days without a TV, after you paid for it. I wish you luck.

Samsung white vertical line 4 & thick

Dear all,

We had puchased a samsung lcd model no 40b530 p7r msl from m/s neha electronics, shop no b-7, dda shopping complex mayur vihar phase 1, pocket 1 vide their invoice no 17207 book no 345 dated 25/10/09.

I had complained to samsung service on 19th september vide complaint no / request no [protected] that there is white vertical line 4" thick visible on the screen.

Today their service engineer visited us and to our surprise and shock he tells us that their is a problem with the panel which needs to be changed. The cost of the panel is rs 20, 244 / - plus 12% vat, plus service charges.

I fail to understand what kind of poor quality products is samsung producing which does not even last for even one year and 4 months. He also tells me that there is no amc on this and the warranty is valid only for one year. Our misfortune that the product performed till twelve months got knocked off immediately after the warranty, fortunate for samsung that it crossed the warranty period of one year.

I would like samsung to take a note of above complaint and replace the panel free of cost.

Regards,

I agree ur complaint but samsung wave II has very much powerful hardware compared to nokia N8.Samsung wave offers 1 ghz new technology cortex A8 processor where as n8 offers ARM11 668 mhz processor which are used in cheap android phones. However bada 2.0 is going to realease in august 2011. This is really a better os than bada 1.2.Lets hope that bada 2.0 will satisfy all our needs.

Samsung samsung gas dryer not drying

I bought Samsung gas dryer (DV407AG) on Nov of 2009. After using for about months, the drying clothes needs 2-4 hours. I did all the troubleshooting according to the manual, and still need longer time (2-4 hours). I called the Samsung customer service for times. They came to my house to repair the dryer last year during my warranty time, but they still charged me $70. After then, it still needs longer dryer time. I called them again on Nov of last year (within my warranty time), they asked me to try to use manual dry function, but not suggest me to repair it. I tried them for 1-2 month, it does not work also. I found the temperature seems like not get hot after using several times (I use dryer one week for one time. I called them again and finally they told me they will send a technician to my house in a few days. However, I need to pay more money again to repair my dryer as it is not in my warranty time. Samsung company says to people that if they use their dryer it will save time and money, however for my experiences, it dose not save any money (within 14 months, I pay repairing fees for 2 times and need 2-4 hours to dry clothes for each time). Based on my experiences, I will never buy their products again and will share my experience with people.

Samsung poor service

A couple weeks ago I went to HHGREGG and bought a new TV and a washing/drying mashine. I spent over $4, 000. The TV we took with us but they said they could deliver the drying and washing machine during the next 2 days. We ordered the pedistools, as well. . Then, when they finally came the pedistool was cracked. I called and they said that they would replace them. Its been 2 weeks since I bought the machines and I've called about 6 times. Everytime I called to complain they say they're sorry.Every time they say they going to be there i would have to leave my job so i can be home. And so about 4 times.I am very disapoint of HHGREGG service...will never shop again !

Samsung poor performance

Purchased a Samsung dishwasher on 4/25/2010 ot Lowes. Almost immediately it started leaving food particles on the dishes. Then I started noticing an odor from the dishwasher. Had a service technician come out. He cleaned out the machine & suggested that I occasionally run some vinegar thru the machine. I have done that & tried every dish soap on the market & I still have dirty dishes. Now the discharge hose is leaking. It is not something that the consumer can replace. Called for service, took half a day off work. Service Technicial called at 3:30 to let me know he did not have the part & would have to order it. That will take another week. I have sent numerous emails to Samsung with no response.
Does anybody have any idea how I can get my money back?

Made a terrible mistake by not checking this site before ordering from this fly-by-night operator. Placed an order for a dishwasher on the 6th of September and my card was charged on the same day and HOMEEVERYTHIN set the order status - scheduled to be shipped between [protected] and [protected]. Nothing happened on the promised dates and I had to call and send messages to hear from this sleezy operation. I just recieved an e-mail saying that my order is scheduled to be shipped
between 10-10-2011 and 10-14-2011. From the real customer comments, it is very clear that the new schedule line will also pass . . . . I am looking forward to moving the small claims court in WILL County, IL.

I'm having virtually the same problem. Bought a Samsung dishwasher from Lowe's well over a year ago. Has always had a funny odor. Recently over last several months always leaves peculiar dried food particles on all glassware...end up having to wash by hand. Samsung 1-800 help-line was worthless. Owners manual...worthless. I cleaned all the nozzles and inside the washer and still has a problem. I always have used a rinse aid and periodically Lemon Shine and have tried every detergent on market it seems. Still has a problem. My opinion is that Samsung should not be building dishwashers and we should not be buying them!

Samsung never buy samsung i9000 (galaxy s)

Let me start by saying that I own many samsung products (Multiple pc monitors, 40” tv, fridge and even a one of your vacuum cleaners & ndash; I would say i’m a samsung fan, but all that is changing and fast. Toward the end of last year (Mid nov 2010) I decided to get one of the best and most raved about smart-phones on the market, the samsung i9000 (Galaxy s). All reviews were great and phone specs looked fantastic compared to other rival phones (Htc, sony erikson, nokia, etc) and it even runs on google’s android os & ndash; way cool. Went to mtn and upgraded my contract so I could get my phone. The phone seems great until a few days go by and you start actually testing what the phone is supposed to do. Once you start testing the features you realize a few things that really limit the usability of the phone (These you will find listed below). It is now 13 feb 2011 (Around 2-3 months after getting my phone) and i’ve been waiting patiently like I guess everyone else in sa with this phone, but yet there seems to be no hope.

Problem 1: general phone issues, like freezing (Complete lockups or random reboots) , sluggish responsiveness, lack of email support (Issues with connecting to secure email servers & ndash; like my exchange work email) , gps is not accurate (Well accurate within 1km or so & ndash; which of cause help you as much as being over here or perhaps over there). I understand that a firmware upgrade (Http://www.Gsmarena.com/android_22_froyo_is_finally_unveiled_25x_faster_than_eclair-news-1673. Php) would generally resolve some of these issues but as per problem 2 below this is not currently possible.

Problem 2: the phone was released with android 2.1 (Eclair. Xwjm3). To date there is no android 2.2 (Been available on other devices since last year) or 2.3 official upgrade over kies (Samsung’s pc & ndash; phone software). I’m not sure who is the correct company to blame for this one (As I understand it is up to samsung and / or the local cellular provider (Mtn in my case) to customize google’s android os to make an update available for this region (South africa) , however somehow I have not managed to find anything regarding this project on the net, other than a few overseas operators seem to be getting this upgrade. The latest news i’ve found is that samsung now want to charge some us operators for the upgrade (Thus delaying this process even further - http://www.Electronista.com/articles/11/01/18/samsung. Delaying. Android.22. Over. Upgrade. Fees).
Since december 2010 there have been many unofficial firmware roms for android 2.2 and in mid jan 2011 for android 2.3. Why is it that it is easier to create a multitude of unofficial firmware’s but yet not one official firmware can be released. One of the world’s most high-end smart phones by a world leading electronics company is now 2 versions behind on firmware. If we root our phones (We lose any warranty) and reloading with an unofficial firmware we stand the chance to brick our phones & ndash; this is not an option we would like to chance, so please give us an official firmware.

Problem 3: because of problem 2 above I have been upgrading my samsung kies software every 2-3 weeks as instructed by samsung’s website, so that I can see when firmware upgrades become available (Each upgrade + - 90mb). The latest kies update (Kies_2.0.0.11014_49_2) took me by a bit of surprise as they have now removed the tethering (Connecting to internet via your phone) functionality away (Or made it really difficult to find, because I have still not found it). This was the only decent way for me to connect to the internet via my phone as the alternative (Selecting pc internet after connecting my phone to my pc’s usb) does not show my internet session usage (We don’t have uncapped mobile accounts here in sa, thus making it important to check you usage or it could cost you).

Problem 4: part of the south african (Sa) marketing scheme for this phone (As could be seen end of last year in jhb airport and most other places) was that this phone was similar to the apple i-phone as it allowed the use of 1000’s of application (Apps) available via google’s android market place (Accessible via the phone). The only thing that everyone failed to mention is that in south africa we can only download and use & lsquo;free’ apps, while this may seem great, it is only so for a short while. Investigation into this reveals that google does not support paid applications in south africa (There was a few rumors that google was to include paid apps for sa, but as of yet no confirmed due date). As I recall we did not pay the demo price for this phone, so why are we only allowed free (Mostly demo) apps. It really limits us as users because if we find an app we like and would like to buy & hellip;. Well we can’t.
One of the major problems this brings comes with the phone’s great navigation system (Assuming the gps was working accurately). Voice and directional navigation as well as the ability to save locations using google maps is only possible if you purchase the add-on google maps apps and since we can’t purchase any apps we can’t use these features & ndash; this is most disappointing since this was shown according to the marketing campaign as one of the major features of this phone.

Problem 5: since we can’t use google’s market place you would expect that we could perhaps use samsung’s apps (Found in your kies software). However as far as i’ve experienced the samsung i9000 (Galaxy s) is not supported (Only supports your wave range) by samsung apps, this is because it’s against a google policy (According to your onscreen message). Thus we cannot use successfully buy or use apps on our phone. This presents a problem that we cannot use google’s marketplace or samsung’s app store, where then do we purchase our apps?

I understand that technology is always improving and that sometimes things don’t work straight out of the box, but something here is not right. From what I can see samsung’s next generation of mobile phone the galaxy s 2 is already being prepped for launch (Http://www.Gsmarena.com/samsung_i9100_galaxy_s_2-3621. Php) and look it seems to be running android os, v2.3 (Gingerbread).
Let me just say i’m not impressed with the commitment from any of the companies involved (Samsung for providing the phone with lack of updates for sa, google for the android commitment and no paid apps in sa and mtn for selling me the phone that only half works in sa) & ndash; if you are going to bring a product to market in sa then make sure that it is fully functional or don’t bring it to market at all. The worst part is that we are your loyal customers - all we ask is that you remain loyal to us and get these problems resolved.

Samsung wall mounting request for tv stands unattended for more than three weeks

This is in reference to the complaint number with samsung customer care : [protected], which was made two weeks back for wall mounting the lcd tv is still unattended. I had purchased the lcd from delhi and then I moved to bangalore. I called the customer care to get the tv wall mounted for the very first time, but the service center reverted that they cannot get wall mounted kit in bangalore as I purchased the set from delhi. They also said that I need to go to delhi service center to get the kit.
I raised my concern with the customer care and they said it will done absolutely free of cost, but two weeks have passed and in spite of multiple calls to customer care my request still lies unattended.
Its a kind request to solve the matter asap as I am really getting frustrated with the samsung service quality.

Regards,
Prashant

We as consumers have to come together to protect our rights.

Samsung awaiting refund

I purchased 2 Samsung PL150 cameras from simply electronics on 30th November 2010. This was as a Christmas gift for my 2 daughters. The order was accepted immediately and there was items in stock and I was informed that the items would be dispatched within 7 days. After 10 days the order still had not been dispatched, I called and got the usual apology and the busy during festive period excuse. The item eventually showed as being dispatched on the 13th December. The item eventually turned up on 111th January. Simply electronics blamed the courier who in turn blamed the poor weather. I returned the item still in it's original delivery packaging to the company asking for a refund. According to the courier - the item was delivered back to the company on 19th January - still waiting on my refund. Playing email pingpong with some daft lassie in Hong kong - don't touch this lot with a barge pole - contact BBC watchdog, the more people complain the more something will be done about this.

Samsung no service even after one month of registering complaint

I had purchased a samsung washing machine which became non-functional on 15/12/2010.I registered a complaint with samsung service center(phone no: [protected]) on 18/12/2010 and the complaint no is [protected].Since the problem was not rectified I contacted the manager Mr George on 13/1/2011.Iwas assured that the complaint would be rectified in a day. But nothing has happened and the manager now does not attend the calls. Each time I contact the service they will ask for the details and will assure to call back in 10 minutes, but nothing happens. Without exaggeration i can say that I have already made 60-70 calls. It is a shame that the staff of your service center finds happiness in fooling people and such irresponsible behaviour even from the part of the manager is unbecoming of an officer with responsibility. A washing machine is of daily use .The service center had told that spare parts are available.Inspite of this they are unwilling to attend to the complaint .Seeking some action. Indeed i too purchased a Samsung Top Loading Washing Machine WA80U3 model from United Matbouli Group who are the dealers in the Saudi Arabia. Exactly after two years of service, one fine day, the washing machine stopped working. I tried to called the dealer, he said that I should call customer service. For my surprize i got the customer service number as toll free [protected]. I tried this number for almost 5 hours and no one answered the call. And the options were in Arabic which i didnot understand however managed it through arabic secretary at my office. At last when nothing worked out, I went to the Service Center which is almost 30 kms from my place. Took permission from office for one hour and rushed to the agency.

Now the main story begins, the customer service were so poor that they could not even take my request. I said him that my machine is not working and needs to be serviced. then the customer service agent replied that their system is down and I should come the next day. It was disgusting. I returned home and feeling that I can repair it myself, I opened the washing machine. To my surprise i saw the drain pump motor was burnt. I removed that motor and rushed to Samsung Service Center the next day. I showed him the part and said to give a spare of it. He checked his warehouse for approx half hour and came back saying that he doesnot have that part and to come next week and check .. when i asked him whether he was sure that the part arrives next week, then he carelessly said that first Check next week then only we can say. I was totally irriatated by this product. Now for my whole lifetime, I am not going to purchase the Samsung Products again. Shame on Samsung... worst customer service

Samsung warranty fraud

Ticket #: [protected]
Another life lesson: do not purchase a samsung plasma tv! 8 months ago we bought a samsung 58 in. Plasma for nearly $2, 000. Tv looked like fireworks went off inside. Wolf's service center sent a guy to take pics, were sent to new jersey where they viewed & denied our warranty so... We are just screwed..Why can't they just send a tech to look at it? It hasn't ever been moved or touched! There's not a scratch on it, they say it was "impacted". As i understand it, this is a common problem of denying warranties for "panels" and they will not replace it as they allegedly say they do. The tv has never been touched or moved in the less than 8 months we've had it. It's the wierdest spider pattern inside the screen... Not a scratch on the system itself or the glass...Just the inside.
By examining these pictures you can see why it appears something has "impacted" the screen. If you examine the glass, however, you see it's on the inside and there's not a scratch, mark or blemish of any sort from the outside. This happened on the inside when i was viewing a basketball game on espn. I do not ever touch the tv except for dusting with a blue shammy that was provided. It hasn't been moved in any way since being set up by the store where it was purchased. What could cause such an event?
Lesson learned i guess. Next time have to get a different tv, but will be armed with questions and likelihood that watching an ncaa basketball game will cause it to go bye-bye. Now i've received an estimate for replacing the panel: $1350.00. I've also been given the option (How thoughtful) of purchasing a new one for $1399.00. Wow... Btw - i purchased the tv at video only here in portland, and up until this horrifying experience had great experiences. I'm not sure i can blame them for selling the flawed tv, but what samsung is doing in my mind constitutes "fraud". Looks like an attorney will now have to be involved and we'll go after both samsung and video only.

Samsung Refrigerator warranty/refund

Bought a samsung refrigerator new $2562 plus tax and the compressor went out 7 weeks later. Samsung couldn't get anyone to come fix it (Most because they said they wouldn't get paid) so samsung said they'd refund the money. When we didn't get a check, called to be told we had to send them the power cord and serial number sticker before they'd send a refund. Did that and verified they received on dec 3, 2010... It's over a month later and they don't know when they'll get around to writing a check. Everytime you call customer service we are told how sorry they are and when you ask to speak to a supervisor... They say there aren't any. We've been given dates of 10-14 days for a ck to call back and be told it will be 10-17 days and now today they said they are backed up and couldn't give us a date. I will never buy a samsung appliance again and suggest anyone thinking about it check some websites as I find i'm not the only one having issues.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT!

I bought a Samsung ref in 2011, it has broken down twice, first it was the defroster, second it may be the evaporator and part is back ordered. This has broken down twice in a span of 6 weeks. I am lucky I bought a 3 Year master protection agreement from Sears other wise I would be paying for the repair may self. The second repairs cost is almost $300 in parts only not including the labor. I have a friend who works on refrigerators and he said i picked the worst brand of all. He does a lot of repairs on Samsung refrigerators. That protection agreement is a life saver otherwise I would be paying for at least $500 in both repairs. This is the last Samsung fridge I would own...

I agree! We had the same experience with our Samsung refrigerator purchased in December 2010 from Lowes in Toronto, ON. The compressor broke 6 months later. Repairman had to try to repair it first, then the part was back-ordered. In the middle of July we have been without a fridge and freezer for 12 days - and while Samsung is "sorry" - there has been almost no customer service and support. Even the Samsung authorized repair firm subcontracted their workt o a company (SurePro) who only have one fridge tech on staff ... whom they did not send to repair our fridge. Hopefully (!) our saga is about to end - before it breaks again. But this will be the last Samsung product I own.

Samsung Known faults not advised

5 months outside of my warranty period the refrigerator part of my samsung sr394nw stops working. After having a refrigerator repairman come to look at the problem, i'm advised that the heater which allows for the continual spinning of the fan to pump cold air into the fridge has broken, and needs to be replaced. The repairman also told me that this is a known fault with these exact samsung fridges, and is the second he's had to fix today. Why, if samsung are aware of the fault, is a recall not done on the product? Why are customers not advised and given the option to have it 'fixed' before there's a problem or given their money back? Now I have had to pay out an extra $300 to fix the fridge, to which samsung can do nothing about and it's just my bad luck. I won't be buying any samsung product ever again and telling everyone I know to do the same.
