Safeway pharmacy

I love my local Safeway store, but the pharmacy is one place that I sometimes feel totally ignored. (Also the deli ... but I have solved that by avoiding it.). I arrived at the pharmacy at 5:02 PM on October 20. I had been receiving phone calls saying my order was ready. (I had re-ordered insulin needles for my dog about 6 days prior). I had tried to pick them up two other time earlier in the week, but the line was just too long. Today, there was only ONE person in line, so I jumped in. There appeared to be just one person working, and after five minutes of waiting, she still had not made any eye contact with either of us. No "I'll be right with you", no nothing. After 10 minutes, I tried calling the pharmacy, and chose #4: talk to the pharmacist. She did not answer, and I left a message asking to help us. At 5:16 (I had to be in Auke Bay at 5:30), I went to the drop off window to ask if she could possibly help us. "I'm the only one here, and I'm TRYING to process these flu shots." (There were two people seated, apparently waiting for flu shots.) She was not happy, and went to wait on the gentleman ahead of me. When it was my turn, the prescription waiting for me was one that I did not order. (How do these "automatic renewal" prescriptions start without the patient knowing?). They DID have the order for the insulin needles, but there were no refills, and the vet had not answered. I am down to 4 needles.

Yes, the Safeway IVR system is poorly designed and very confusing to patients.

I'd also give it a 1 Star.

I also give Safeway 1 Star for the labor budget giving to pharmacies forcing them to work without staff. In some states, working a SOLO RPh when busy is illegal. It sound like 2 waiting for flu shots and 2 in cash register line … qualifies as busy.

Safeway store manager dominic dennis store 1210

The store manager continually allows homeless people to loiter in the store for hours on end.. I've seen one particular homeless person that has diarrhea on their pants smells completely filthy, and behaves loudly and disrupts business. The store manager Dominic Dennis allows this to go on daily in his store! I am uncomfortable as a customer coming into the store because of this and I will not be shopping at Safeway and I will tell every single person that I know to not shop there anymore until this issue is resolved.. Safeway is not a social service agency or a shelter.. They do not have the right to allow homeless people in their store day after day contacting customers and employees spreading disease and filth it is a health hazard to the community something must be done! I am also contacting the Health Dept, and the Mayors office!

Safeway rewards program

This is not against the store itself, but the company as a whole.

I am thankful for the rewards and savings that come with the Club Card. We have used them numerous times. However, I feel like we [customers] are punished for not spending enough or using rewards fast enough to make the company happy. My reasons for feeling this way are as follows:

1) You lose any points not totaling 100 at the end of the month.
* Meaning you can have 1-99 points, but because you didn't spend enough to make that 100, you lose them!
- Why? What would the problem be to let them continue to roll over month to month?
We spend the money in YOUR stores, not somewhere else! Why do our points get taken away? It seems quite greedy for a company [Albertson's]that rakes in millions!

2) You can't let your rewards build up past the end of the following month in which you earned them.
* If you want to save them to use for a specific purpose
{i.e. work commute, vacation, moving, date night, etc} when you know money will be tight, you can't. Unless the purpose falls within the time frame set by the company.
- Why? Again, where's the problem in allowing them to continue to roll?
Put a cap on the maximum number of rewards allowed to be saved, but let them be saved. I'm pretty positive that you'd find that the majority of customers wouldn't let them build up for very long anyway.

3) We have to use all of the rewards at one time at the pump.
* If there are say, 4 rewards available on an account, all 4 have to be used. You HAVE to use them all! There's no option to choose to use 1, 2 or 3 & save any for a later date.
- Why? Is it too difficult to program the pumps to allow us a choice?
I'd like to be allowed to break them up so I can use them to commute to & from work throughout the month. It may only be 10¢/gal/reward, but it adds up to be quite helpful when cash is low.

4) All fluid items in the dairy section, including fluid dairy substitutes, are not countable toward the points in a reward!
In our store there are juices & teas in that section as well. Some of which are able to be & often are, found on end caps or in other displays in the store. So, how do they decide which ones do or don't accumulate toward a reward? Temperature? Eggs count as being in the dairy section, but they are, literally, a protein! Do they count as fluid? The Starbucks drinks & others like them, count & they have milk products in them & they are fluid.

You have a cap on the maximum number of rewards useable at the pump, as well as the maximum number of gallons purchasable. Why, then could you not put a cap on the maximum number of rewards savable & let them roll over along with allowing the points to roll from one month to the next?
It's truly irritating to feel like we've been punished for not having spent enough money in your stores. Honestly, there are MANY, MANY people who feel this way.
The introduction of being able to use rewards for groceries has been nice, but there are still the same questions about rolling points and rewards.
It's all very confusing and irritating! Hopefully, I'll get some answers from this post, since I've contacted the company by phone and email many times without any viable help to speak of!

We shall see! NOT holding my breath on that!

Safeway receiving warehouse

I was waiting for live unload and paperwork for more than 7 hrs and still not done yet, very ridiculous ! My door 106 got green Light after 3 hrs and more than 4 hrs for paperwork ? Unbelievable ! And still not done yet . I got to shut down because my hours of service had gone . This is the worst place I have ever been for delivery ! Next time I will refuse any delivery to Safeway DC. Other truck drivers I spoke with also said the same thing .Very slow !

Safeway lucerne egg nog - quart size advertised in safeways big book of savings pg 3

Safeway's BIG BOOK of SAVINGS pg 3 has a clip or click just for u coupon for LUCERNE Egg Nog (Quart size) which I down loaded into my Safeway bucket list however I went to 2 of ur SAFEWAY stores today (660 Bailey Rd, Pittsburg, CA & 4309 Clayton Rd, Concord, CA) n neither one had any of the quart size LUCERNE Egg Nogs on hand - NONE! There were larger sizes of LUCERNE (1/2 Gallon) n other quart size egg nogs from different manufacturers but no quart size egg nog from LUCERNE. This BIG BOOK of SAVINGS started Oct 2nd, today is Oct 7th - 5 days into the savings ad advertisement. Seems to me if ur going to advertise in the BIG BOOK of SAVINGS that u would at least have it on hand in ur stores. Pls check with ur Safeway stores n if u could let me know if there is a store location near me that may have the LUCERNE egg nog available/on hand for purchase pls let me know - my area code is 94565 - my email address is paul.[protected]@yahoo.com - thank you for ur help

Safeway check out

I was shopping in the Safeway store on 710 Bancroft Road, Walnut Creek CA on 1-6-19 at 12:15 PM. I only had a few items so I proceeded to the express check out line. There were only four people ahead of me in line and it took the checker, Christopher, 15 minutes to get to me. He was extremely slow and that was an exorbitant amount of time to wait. I would not normally complain, however this was beyond reason. I would think that Safeway would put a trained and competent person on an express check out.

The people might have been immigrants. If so, what would you expect of immigrants? When you bring in people from 3rd world countries, you're going to get people who bring their 3rd world behaviours with them.

Safeway produce

I have notice that since Safeway was bought out by Albertsons many of the items I used to buy there have disappeared but the produce is the worst. The broccoli is rotten and so is the cauliflower in fact ALL of the produce in the Castle Rock, Colorado store is rotten and should be thrown away! I didn't realize that Colorado was annexed by Mexico or Arkansas as that is the same kind of lousy produce I've seen in those places. Holy cow, Walmart is now a step up... Wake up Safeway/Albertsons or you are gone forever! Also you no longer carry Raincoast Crisps crackers or Nestle Chocolate wafers, what is wrong with this company? I'm going to Kroger from now on.

Safeway digital coupons

I don't like the digital coupons as not all of us do apps or have time to look them up on home computers. When you see a sale price, that should be the sale price. Make it easier on everyone. I usually get up to the check stand and find I've not seen the "digital" language and pay twice as much as I had intended. Very frustrating. Especially to the older population. And the checker is not able to help you.

PLEASE do away with digital coupons to be fair.

Safeway blueberries, raspberries, blackberries / sat. sept 28,2019

In store and in the newspaper, Safeway advertises, "Buy 1, Get 2 FREE" on the above berry selection. NO where on the sign in front of the berries or in the ad does it state that the promo is for ALL berries collectively. When I reached checkout I was told that I could only have one of the berries at the promo price and was charged full price for the other berry choices I made. This is the second time that I have brought this to the attention of management in the store, telling them that they need to put up a sign with the berries that is more clear in what the consumer can get or not get with the promo. I was told last time that they agreed it was misleading and they would take action. Today at the checkout, the sales associate told me that the signs and ad were misleading, but yet he did nothing. I asked to speak with the manager and he said, "Oh, she's around here somewhere". After waiting for him to get her to come over, I finally left.

I am cognizant that I am only talking about "berries" here, but it is unacceptable that this large food chain can continue to have misleading advertising with no consequence. I trust that you will be able to do something about this. I am sure that it is probably happening in other places other than Tucson, AZ.

Safeway bad meat

We purchased a package of five NY strip steaks at our Springerville Arizona Safeway and upon unwrapping them I discovered the backside (the unseen part of the steaks) is brown, perhaps bad. The fresh date on the steak wrapper says good till October 1st, today is September 27th. This is NOT the first time we have found the unseen part of the hamburger meat and/steaks to be brown. Safeway bathrooms

I'm an out of town traveler, stopped at Safeway in Buiren Washington. Entering the store late on a Sunday the shelves were picked over. But I found everything I needed.

I stopped by the restroom before I left...It was disgusting. My husband said the mens room was bad too.

As I left, I considered telling the manager, but was greeted by a custodian as I walked out of the RR.

My suggestion: check and clean the restrooms several times a day, not just before you close.

Safeway meat/hot food department

I am very displeased and angry to write the service I have received from this department recently. It seems like they're either short staff or very slow at what they're are doing. This past week I've waited in line for a 8 piece chicken for 30 mins only to find out that I would've to wait another 40 mins for it to be done. The lady rudely said "how come I didn't ask in the first place when I got in line?". My answer is there were many people in line ordering the same thing and other sandwiches and plus I've just seen your co worker took two buckets out on his break to the checkstand on the other side. I figure you would still have some left.
I just think this is poor services. I am a very patient person but this incident has definitely cause me to rethink of going back to shopping elsewhere.
My ideal suggestions is they can probably leave a sign or every 5 or 10 mins let the customer know that if they're here for this sale item that it will be a longer wait instead of having me wait that long.

Safeway employee

Today, Friday September 20th around 10:30am I was at the Pharmacy at the above location. The employee who "helped" me was named Jennifer. She was very unpleasant to work with. She did not acknowledge I was there, just kept walking back and forth, when a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" would let me know I'm going to get helped. Then there was an issue with my insurance. She didn't say anything, just started writing on a piece of paper. I asked her what information she needed, and she interrupted my question to say (in a rude voice) "I'm writing it down for you!". When I asked her if she could look up my insurance information (as another employee had done recently for my daughter) she acted extremely put out, told me no, and said there was probably an 800 number I could call.

I understand that the issue with my insurance was not her fault. I also know that it takes very little effort to provide good customer service. This lady has horrible customer service skills.

This was highlighted when I cam back later the same day, about 7:30pm, and was helped by Susan. She said "Hello" when I came to the counter. She smiled, even though she looked tired from what was probably a long day, and she looked into what she could do for me while I was waiting for my insurance company to resolve the issue. This resulted in me being able to pick up a medication I needed today. And, this wasn't a one off. Susan has helped me before, and every time is extremely personable, professional, and helpful.

Thank you Susan, I hope you get a raise. Jennifer, I hope you have some disciplinary action which results in you changing your attitude.

Safeway home delivery

My wife and I are 76 years old and Disabled.

In the month of August I placed 17 orders totaling $>1, 500. Charged fee for specific delivery time. 20% error rate and no
Refund of fees.

Current order was not delivered at all. 16 hours later still no contact from Safeway.

Safeway accepts orders that can't be delivered. I have complained of the poor management of Campbell CA delivery store.

Walmart delivers for lower fee and on time.
Prime doesn't charge a fee and is on time.
What is Safeway saying, use the competition!

Safeway caramel caribou ice cream

I have bought several containers of caramel carboy ice cream recently and all of them have none or maybe one or two chocolaty caramel cups in the whole container. I am having some right now and there is one only. What's going on? There used to be very many and now none. This has been my favorite for a long time and I am truly distressed by the sudden change. Please start putting the chocolate caramel cups back in.

Safeway the soda machine in the deli department

I live across the street from Safeway which makes it convenient for me to go across the street and get a large fountain drink for just $2. The reason I'm complaining is because the diet coke on the machine IS ALWAYS OUT OF ORDER and no one seems to be able to do anything about it. I was in there Saturday to get a drink and of course the soda machine wasn't working. I spoke with the manager and he said he had someone coming out to fix it. But they never came because when I went there today (Monday) it was still broken. This really angers me because I'm a paying customer and I expect the machine to be working when I'm craving a nice ice cold drink... And most of the time it is not! I want this issue fixed ... Thank you.

Safeway gift cards

My daughter bought her mom a $25 gift card from Safeway my wife went to Safeway in Stayton Oregon and she was treated like a thief my wife being a 64-year-old disabled woman was so humiliated by the staff at Safeway that is why I will never shop at Safeway in Stayton again and I hope all of you never do again they were asking questions like date of birth address that has nothing to do with a gift card for $25
To top it off they never gave her the $25 for the gift card so needless to say she left Safeway feeling like a thief I will never forgive or forget this

Safeway employee bonnie

I just went in there to use their ATM machine, in and out real quick. And as I was leaving, Bonnie stopped me very rudely and called me a thief, saying I did not buy anything.
I guess she forgot about the ATM machine people use in there. She is the rudest person I have met in a long time, and no one deserves to be labeled a thief in front of everyone in the parking lot. Very upset about this, how can you guys have someone working there act like that? Very unprofessional and extremely rude.

Safeway pacific coast clam chowder - signature cafe

Just to let you know, I buy this product all the time. I had purchased 2 of them at the same time. Both containers of them had minced over clammed soup, it made it taste like fish, and smell fishy. I did not save my receipt. I have never had this problem before, it must have been the bottom of the barrel.
