Safeway Misleading promotion signs and rude customer service

On 3/18, i visited safeway New Westminster station location at 800 Carnarvon st, i saw a lot of beef jerkey racks have sticker "Buy 3 or more for $4.99." However when I scanned, the promotion did not show up and unsteady it was showed as $8.99 each. I asked a staff to check, then she came back, admitted to another staff (named Sipho) that there were a lot of them having the same label "buy 3 or more for $4.99." However Siphon turned to me and reponsed that "maybe some customers misplaced the items there" and that she can only honor 1 package for $4.99, not 3 packages.
Then I asked Sipho to go check with me, because it obviously not "some customers misplaced the items", instead, the entire racks were full of the exact same size packages as the ones I brought to cashier. She then quickly peeled off the promotion sign, which was on top of the original price tag $8.99 (so obviously all packages were placed in correct location!). She also told me that she didnt know why the promotion sign was there, that it was not her fault, the items were not on sales, she could only honor price for 1 pack.
My concern was if it was not safeway staff's fault for putting up the promotion sign to mislead customers, then who's fault was that?
Then I asked to talk to the manager because I was very upset with Sipho's rude attitude, but I actually experienced the worse customer service from talking to the manager. Her name is Simran, very rude, careless, and unprofessional person. Literally the worst customer service manager I have never seen in my life.
Simran came to talk to me, crossing both of her arms around her chest, telling me that the policy is only honor price for 1 pack if the scanning price is higher than the price tag. I told her I understand that but the price tag on the rack was $8.99, however, there was another sign on top saying buy 3 or more for $4.99, which the policy she showed me did not mention about misleading promotion. And I didn't understand why I was not honored the promotion buy 3 for $4.99 when it was clearly Safeway staff put on the stickers to mislead customers?! besides, both of them never even apologized for the mistake..
then Simran responded that price and promotion are the same (how?!?) and she didn't understand what I was explaining...?! I was very upset! I literally asked her if she understood English. Then she told me "No i dont speak English, im speaking in another language ok?" With very bad and rude attitude towards me.
So I asked for her name and how to make complaints to the company. She refused to give me her name and told me that "I never complain about anyone so I dont know, just figure it out yourself." I was shocked from hearing that response came from a customer service manager!
Then I asked her again "if you're a manager, you should have known how and who to contact for complain, and give me the information." She repeated "I already told you just figure it out yourself, I don't know."
After that, I asked Sipho to give me her and the manager's names. While she was giving me the name, the manager Simran told her "you can give her my name because I don't speak English so I don't have to talk."
But that was not the end of the rudeness. Simran then grabbed some other Safeway employee and started gossiping about me right in front of the checkout, while Sipho was voiding the $8.99 beef jerkey packages that I scanned. I told Simran that I could hear her talking about me, if she wanted to say anything about customer, pls go to the back, instead of saying stuff about customer in front of the customer! But she responded that there was no sign around here prohibiting her from talking about customers with other staff members. I can't believe what kind of manager she was?!? I was literally harassed by the safeway staffs and manager for something that it was their fault misleading the price?! This is so crazy and unacceptable service! From the beginning to the end, none of them apologized for both misleading promotion sign or their reponses and attitude.
I thought safeway sold better quality and more expensive products, with better customers service.. But I was so wrong. Even walmart or T&T can handle customer's issues better. It was actually a very small issue at the beginning, but the staff and manager made it become a huge mess and upset me so much! I can't believe I have been shopping and paying to get back such a horrible customer service!

Safeway Bear claws

On March 5th, I purchased a box of freshly baked "Bear Claws" from our local Safeway store. This product is a great disappointment to me and to our house guests to whom we served the Danish.

My complaint is fourfold. The Bear Claws in the packaging box are sized significantly smaller than any previous purchased, each pastry was sealed on edges, the almond filling was very minuscule and withered.

There was a time when bear claws from Safeway were enjoyed at our Sunday brunch at home. I am sorry to say these bear claws have no redeeming quality.

Desired outcome: Hopefully, this product will return to a more fresh and tasty Danish.

Safeway Asian cuisine orange chicken

When I had came home after purchasing a large box of orange chicken from the asian cuisine,
The orange chicken was missing its sweet and savory orange sauce and the meat was so hard to chew! The meat had felt like strips of hard meat!
I wouldn't buy that product again and my dinner's ruined! This product was worse than last month's purchase of asian cuisine orange chicken! : (

Safeway Clean up your act and be part of the solution.

This Dover store is being part of the problem, not the solution in regards to protecting customers from CoVID-19. I'm a public health nurse. On many occasions your workers are not wearing their masks properly. I have shopped at this store for 10yrs, and believe me I'm going to find somewhere else to shop.
Today, a worker putting seafood out didn't have her mask on properly. she was coughing and sneezing on the seafood. Also, another worker in the produce dept didn't have his mask on properly. Most times when I come in there are no wipes for my cart.

I believe this must be a code violation.

Safeway Sexual harassment managers and employees

Recently shopping saw female managers all over men employees taking the men upstairs these women all over the men in front of customers not taking proper precautions also with the whole covid 19 the managers do not care staff having covid and still going to work family members that also work in the store spreading it managers knowing and not sending others home to stop the spread will not be shopping at this store anymore

Safeway Pharmacy ethics

On 12/20/2020, I picked up a prescription from your pharmacy, in Jackson, California. Your pharmacy had on file, a discount coupon for this prescription, and had been used every time I filled this particular script. initially there had been issues with the pharmacist not applying, but I thought over the past 3 years, I thought the problem was remedied, but now I know it was not. Unbeknownst to me manufacturer coupon was not applied. I did not check the total when I used my card, and I was charged $300 too much. When I saw the mistake, and tried to get it remedied by the store manager, and the pharmacy manager, neither would do anything for me. This in itself is rude enough, but then the district pharmacy supervisor, whose name was Shawntel, told me that it was my fault, and also refused to help me. My question is, when has it been the customers job to inspect the checkers job? This discount coupon was in my file, and if it had expired, I should have been made aware of its expiration, because that is your job. If I were made aware, I could have gotten on the drug manufacturers website, and in less than 5 minutes, I could have gotten a new discount code to save me $300. As a person, that worked in the grocery industry, I know this is not how you treat a customer. If this issue is not fixed, I will be moving all my scripts, as well as my business elsewhere

My sister lives in a rural community burns, ore, she gets her insulin at Safeway. She pays 191.00 per bottle.
the closest city is 130 miles away I Wes going to visit her so I stopped at Wal-Mart and picked her up some xtra bottles of insulin at our Wal-Mart for 24.88 each for the same brand ECT.now why is it that she has to pay 170.00 more than I was able to get for 24.88? Sound like price gouging to me America I will be buying and sending her meds from now on Safeway.reminder the elderly are on fixed incomes

Safeway Prawns

Cooked prawns from Safeway town centre Torquay 3228. Were disgusting full of salt no taste. Happens every Christmas at this store selling 3rd rate quality. Has been happening ever since the store opended . Disstatisfied local customer

Safeway Management and operations treatment of employees and customers.

Perhaps I'm spoiled because I grew in Utah and shopping at Albertsons. On 12/23 I went into the store to buy my meal for Christmas. I was sent away there was no butcher, "come back tomorrow" I went back, no butcher, no problem through because one is working for 3 hours tomorrow (Christmas Day) be here at 8am to get it. I was there at 8:10am and was told no butcher. I went to the manager told him what I was told, he was actually there and asked by the employee on 12/24 if there was a butcher, he said yes, two. But when I brought that up looked at me with black stare and basically said whatever. I understand it's Christmas, but there was ZERO attempt to give an alternative, or solution, there was no "I apologize for any miscommunication, nothing". This is the same manager that was snippy with my wife about a year ago. That was the last time she was in your store. Most of the people there are great, but this manager is not a leader. Additionally today I ordered at Starbucks, the manger was understaffed and shutting Starbucks down early and the way he spoke to the girls was incredibly offensive. It completely changed the mood of the workers, they apologized to me, but said that is him and how he is to them. Again the stress of Christmas especially retail sucks but, not that much. If this was at any of my families many owned stores in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah, this person would not last as a manager. Very rude.

Safeway Company policies regarding covid 19 exposure

Several employees including some managers have been exposed to covid 19.
Upper management hasn't done anything about the exposure even though they are fully aware of the exposure not only to employees but to customer as they are neglecting inform any one of any exposure or that some employees have tested positive. They are not protecting their employees or the customers jeopardizing the health, well being and life.

Desired outcome: They need to have a protocol for Covid 19 exposure and consistently keep their employees informed of any such exposure so they may get tested if need be.

Safeway Customer service

I was just at your store in Poulsbo Washington and spent over 25 minutes waiting in the check out line as there were only 3 checkstands open with lines stretching down the aisles. Eventually the poor wine steward was called up to check, but that was it. During this time I saw the store manager walking around acting busy by straightening already straight floor stacks and fronting floor displays instead of actually helping out or doing anything productive as the other employees were running around like crazy. Has your company really cut back so far that you no longer staff extra for holidays and allow such poor management in your stores? If so why should we consumers bother spending our money with you when so many other options?

Safeway Rude cashier

Rude cashier on my last visit to Safeway on Thursday Dec 3. She avoids any eye contact and after I finish paying she throws the receipt in the bag like she couldn't get me out of there fast enough. Now from what I understand, the policy at Safeway is to hand the receipt to the customer. Every time I have shopped at Safeway the cashier has always handed me the receipt, not disrespectfully throwing it in the bag. I have never had any problems with any cashier here before and hopefully this issue gets resolved, cause it is a shame for this kind of thing to happen, especially when it goes against store policy.

Safeway Harassment by store detectives...

It has been apparent with my last few visits to my local safeway that security protocols have been tightened, however understandable the issues are, no elderly person of any color wants to be harassed while shopping. Both of my sons worked at the same local safeway. The current management and store detective situation has not been normal. I am writing because of the detectives that have been placed in the store are not professional and are easily identified. Within the past 3 months I have noticed a change that makes shopping very unpleasant.

Safeway Bank card reader

I just had to use an atm in your store a few minutes ago because your card readers wouldn't work, usually there's someone around that can troubleshoot these issues but I had no luck this time. It cost me $3.25 extra to make the purchase and I would like for whoever is reading this complaint to speak to whoevers job it is to arrange a $3.25 discount, I don't think I'm being to unreasonable here. You know I've been shopping at your store and the one across the street now for more then 5 years and these card reader problems are ongoing, for some reason you guys can't seem to get them to work, I'm in a lousy mood as a result this and honestly I would rather be doing other things

Safeway Hazelnut sugar free coffee creamer

On November 4th, 2020 I purchased a bottle of Lucerne Hazelnut Sugar Free Coffee Creamer. It was my favorite. I noticed they changed the bottle. It used to look the the picture attached. Now it is a little larger but pink and white.

I noticed right away that there was no white build up on the bottom of the bottle. When I got it home I made a iced coffee for the next day. I use the same reusable bottle, same exact measurements for both coffee and creamer that I have been using for years. Instantly I noticed that the creamer was not as rich, also the color of my coffee was darker than normal.

I thought it should be alright but no. The flavor was completely lacking and different. It was watery and not very good. I thought maybe it was a one off, so I returned it and tried again. Nope, still sucks. So, another reason to hate 2020, Safeway went cheap and changed the formula to one that is worse. More water less flavor. That was the last Lucerne product that was any good. Now they all are off my shopping list.

I was very loyal to that creamer, now I have to find another.

Thanks for ruining a small happiness Safeway.

Yes! My flavor is different too! So mad about this! Ruined my mornings. And they didn't even put anything on the packaging that it's different. The ingredients are the same. How is that possible?

What's with the changed Lucerne Sugar Free Hazelnut creamer? Where's the cream that the previous version used to have? Why change it when the previous version was much better and actually TASTED like a hazelnut creamer. I deliberately switched from Coffeemate's SF Hazelnut creamer (because they changed the content that made the taste intolerable) to Lucerne because it tasted good. Now, they've gone and ruined my favorite sugar free creamer. Not only that, but the bottle is actually larger now. I've had to readjust my fridge shelves just to accommodate the larger bottle... Why fix what's not even broken? Time to find another SF Hazelnut creamer that actually HAS cream in it...

Safeway Ceiling in aisle 6

I was shopping at the South Gate Safeway 100A-5015 111 St NW, Edmonton: 780-438-8045 on November 16 2020 and I got scared when I was shopping. I looked up and noticed the ceiling was leaking water. One of the roof sections were sunken in and it looked like it was going to burst. I ran over to the cashier and told an old white woman. I completed my shopping and went back to the same cashier.

As I was checking out I asked her if she told someone, she said yes, they know about it, I said OMG it looks scary. Is anyone going to repair it and she began to be rude about it. I just changed the subject right away as I was tired and wanted to avoid making it a big deal.

As a customer I think it is vital to report this and ensure someone fixes this before people get hurt and product gets damaged. A manager didn't even come and thank me for reporting it or even acknowledged me. It was a very awkward situation. Please look into this ASAP

Safeway Delivery

I have used their delivery in the past and they are never on time in their time frames scheduled... But I received my groceries.. And was happy enough.
Not any more! Have scheduled two days in a row for groceries with two of the same emails stating due to unforeseen circumstances my delivery's have been canceled.
Offers a link to reorder in the next 24 hours that leads to a dead end page that tells me my order has expired. This is only 15 minutes after my time stamped email of cancelation.
Called customer service and he tells me he has no explanation or sorry even as to why I have been canceled two days in a row...
And wants me to re order my entire order
Again... For the third time... From scratch... Due to their dead end link... Reads to me out loud the link since he's confirmed the one I have is not valid.
But can't and won't assure me this delivery will come. He's got no reason as to why my two deliveries haven't arrived... Or an apology! Dead awkward silence on the phone is what I got after why...
In today's days of stores offering services due to limited contact in public... We should be able to depend on the store offering the services at least with an apology for two repeat cancelations! Hey and sometimes even possibly a reason why!

Safeway Bad service

I would like to start out by saying that I don't want anything, but I would like to let the store manager know about a particular cashier. The store number is 2712 and the cashier's name is Kimberly. The date and time was 11/10/2020 at 21:34.

Kimberly was rude and threw my groceries around like bags of sand. I had bread and other delicate items, but they took an unnecessary beating. When I got home and unloaded my groceries, I noticed that a bag of Doritos was completely ripped open. The bag wasn't like that when I took it off the shelf (picture included).

I don't know the name of the person who was bagging the groceries, but she wasn't friendly or gentle either. My husband and I felt like we were interrupting their conversation.

I was a cashier/bagger in my younger days and I can certainly say that things have changed. Bagging 101 always meant putting the cold items in the same bag and putting things like chips and bread in a bag that didn't include 2 liter bottles of soda. Well, unfortunately, my bread and chips were bagged with several 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke. There was also a bag that contained two 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke along with 6 bottles of Signature Flavored Water. I'm no weakling, but that bag was so heavy that even my husband said, DANG.

This cashier and her bagging partner need more training. I worked at a grocery store when I was 17 years old (many moons ago) and those things would have never happened. Obviously, times have changed, but that's no excuse for poor service and bad behavior. If your cashiers portray a bad attitude or throw groceries around, customers will eventually go somewhere else.

Please…for the love of bread and Doritos, have a word with Kimberly and let her know that it's not that bad. Kindness breeds the same.

Safeway Sales, digital, clearance coupons, ad paper

I hve been getting ripped off by 3 safeways in 2 different staes since last summer when they started the digital couposn. Either no such product existed in 2-3 different stores in 2 different staes in the same week, or I did not get the discount for something or all of something at check out. So I quit doing those. I got repped off on coupons in store for clearnce yogurt, said "1/2 off club card price" I was charged 1/2 off the ridiculously inflated "regular" price so no slae at all. So I quit buying more than 3 items at a time. I got ripped off on the 10 piece chicken special, got 9. So no more of that either, I live far away and there are plenty of other honest stores to shop at.
Today I had a printed ad for petite top sirloin steaks, 1.49/lb. On the front page in colr! Was not give that brice in front of other customer and of course, as usual, no customer service person at the counter. Thi is the constant attitude at the 15th street longveiw< wa store and I have been ripped off at all the safeway stores around, 4 in 2 states so I will not be shipping there anymore. Just wanted to let you know I will be telling everyone.

I get the impression that you are misreading the coupons and that they are not valid. Get someone who can read to help you out.
