Safelite AutoGlass The wind shield I purchased some time ago from you has cracked. Passenger side from the bottom up.

As I was saying the wind shield started cracking from the bottom up with no visible sign of impact from anything. I purchased the glass from you but not sure of exact date of purchase. In my opinion it should be replaced at no charge but of course its almost impossible to speak with anybody from your company. If you would like to give me a call that would be great at [protected] and if I miss your call please leave a message. Also I waited 2 hours on your chat line it's a joke. Finally when I was down to 2nd in line it said no agents are available and cut me off. I hope to hear from you soon.

Jeff

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield/poorly installed

Service was OK! but a few weeks after I got my new windshield it started leaking air. I took it back to get repaired and they said my warranty was void because I had gotten a small rock chip in the meantime and they could not remove windshield. All I wanted was to stop air leak.
I will only use local people from now on.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield replacement

On 2/3/21 Fairfield California branch scheduled to change out my windshield at my work place in Napa. Everything went as planned until I went out to inspect their work. The technician broke part of the plastic frame around my windshield and didn't bother to tell me. I filed a complaint online and later that day drove to their location in Fairfield to show them the damage. They assured me they would fix my car. After 3 weeks of silence, I tried to reach out to them. Phone calls kept me on hold for hours, online chat would tell me they had contacted the store and that they would be calling me shortly, but they never did. About a month after appointment, we started to get rain and I found that the broken piece allowed a pathway for water to enter my car and so then I had to deal with a soaked interior. On 3/23/21, I made my way back to the store in Fairfield and spoke with the store manager Sandra Lizarraga. She could not update me as to when my car would be repaired, but promised a call before the end of the day. After 3 days without a call, I attempted to call the cell number that she provided me. Multiple calls, no answer and a full voice mailbox, so unable to leave a message. On 3/31, another unanswered call, but this time I was able to leave a message and still no response after two days.

Desired outcome: I just want my car fixed

Safelite AutoGlass Replacement of GMC Acadia windshield

A Safelite company was recommended by my trusted mechanic. My original and very abused windshield (HUD) needed to be replaced. As uninformed woman, and a customer, I was unable to speak to the life salesperson, I ended up using the Web to make the appointment and a received a quote of $961.53.
My windshield was replaced on 3/8/21 in Sun Valley CA location, I was send an e receipt and given the car keys and departed. 10 days later, during at home car wash, right windshield came apart and the metal handle smacked the window. A incident that happened many times before without a dent in my OME windshield, I did not think much of it and proceeded to complete the wash. Following morning I discovered break lines projecting from the pained right corner of the windshield. Upon the closer examination, I discovered a large round crack with a crack web, as if a large stone hit it.
That is when I discovered that my windshield was none OEM, as I an uninformed customer believed I was purchasing. I printed out the purchase receipt to find a fine print on the bottom (a disclaimer?) confirming my surprise. On 3/23/21, I returned to Sun Valley CA facility to discuss this issue with the Manager. A salesperson have came out and examined the windshield crack and stated (in not so many words) that I should have requested OEM windshield, which would cost me $1800. A cost I could have endured for the quality glass. None of this information was readily available on your website nor any of the sales people have discussed that option with me at any point. I was dismissed and associate manager came out to examine my shield and after declaring that Pinkerton windshields are widely used manufacturer, approved by the government and a ‘quality aftermarket glass', my complaint was "not his problem".
Indeed, because of this incident, which apparently other customers have experienced, I would not know the lack of transparency and poor customer service that your company provides.
Now that I am preparing the next stage of protest against this shabby Safelite practice, I discovered that both widow shield wipers were removed during the glass installation. How do I know that the wiper did not come apart and hit same far right corner of the window shield after the re installation process and produced the injury. Location is invisible and covered by the wiper? I was not asked to examine the window shield after the re installation, and it did not occur to me to do so.
My lawyer have confirmed that Safelite was not transparent and practiced poor customer service. I demand correction-replacement of my OEM windshield, or a refund.

Desired outcome: Replacement of the windshield with OEM, clearly specifying the glass manufacturer. Your website has to clearly give OEM option and price to all unsuspecting customers (such as myself)

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield replacement

Had the windshield replaced on my 2013 Volvo C70 convertible today Jan 20th. To replace the windshield the technician needed to operate the convertible top. Upon completion of the work and upon driving the car away an alarm associated with the top sounded, warning me of impending damage. I returned to the Safelite dealership immediately. They inspected the car but could not resolve the issue. They disavowed responsibility and basically told me it was my responsibility to get it fixed thru the dealership. The top must have failed coincidentally with their work, which I find incredible. They were dismissive of my view that the top worked fine when I arrived and that their work had to be the cause of the issue. I now have to pay for repairs and a rental car since the dealership was unable to service until Jan 22nd and being alone in Florida I need transportation.

Desired outcome: Safelite pays for the repairs and my rental

Safelite AutoGlass Safelite auto glass repair

I scheduled an appointment to repair my window at safelite Astoria, NY location for tuesday 12/29/2020 4 pm. I brought my car there and they told me to come back in 2 hours to pick up my car. I went back to get my car they said that they didn't have the part and to come back the next day (Wednesday). I went back on Wednesday to get my car they said that the car would be ready on Monday. I tried to reach out to their customer service but was unable to reach them. I have been using Uber and it's quite expensive and by Monday I will have spent nearly 500 dollars on Uber.

Desired outcome: A monetary compensation

Safelite AutoGlass Lost cause

I had the wrong time for my appointment so I called to let them know I was running late. The lady on the phone stated "I was fine just have it here by 11 a.m." I arrived there by 10 a.m. and they stated that I would have to reschedule. I run a daycare and had to shutdown today and will have to shutdown tuesday. I also now have to cancel a field trip next week. I am losing a total of 3 days pay due to them telling me one thing and doing another not to mention they were rude about all of it. The lady behind the counter said it was an understandable mistake due to the lady on the phone thinking that I was only getting one window replaced. I did exactly what they told me and now I have to lose 3 days pay and so do the parents of my daycare munchkins over there mistake... Pathetic!

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield repair

Had a very small chip on windshield about the size of 1/2 dime when finished the chip was worst and they were two cracks about 1 inch long running from the chip where there was no cracks prior to the so called repair. Manager told me the only solution was to replace the windshield which would cost me $1000.00 dollar deductible. Seems a very convenient way way to increase business?

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield replacement

On 10/22/20 I had Safelite Auto Glass come out to look at my automobile as I noticed a chip on the left side of my windshield. When they came out they only saw the one chip and filled it in but the very next morning I saw a chip in the lower right hand corner of the windshield that had started a crack and before the next day it had spread across my entire windshield. I notified them and with repeated appointments and cancellations they informed me that they would now have to replace the glass and I would be responsible for the entire cost. If they had repaired it correctly the first time, this could have been prevented. Very dissatisfied with the service or lack of with this company.

Safelite AutoGlass Chip in my windshield

I set up a appointment for my windshield to be repaired on line through the safelite autoglass website. The guy showed up at my work place to fix the chip. He didn't even come find me before he started. I happened to look out to see if he was here yet. I spoke with him and told him that I was right inside the door. I later received a phone call from him after he left saying that it didn't go according to plan but he was still able to fix the chip. He also informed me that if it didn't work I would need to replace my windshield and I should check prices elsewhere because the prices at safelite were too expensive. I went out to look at my windshield and it didn't even look like he did anything. The chip didn't even look touched. He never asked me to come out and explain anything to me. I have had a previous chip fixed by safelite and that was was awesome. He showed me what he did and why the chip didn't completely disappear. You could obviously tell that this guy did his job. This time there weren't even finger prints on my windshield showing he even touched it and he informed me that he did my windshield by hand. My windshield is dirty and there were not even any areas that he would have cleaned around the area. I have contacted safelite about this and all they told me was that the chip wouldn't go away. They said nothing about me believing that he didn't even do anything or the fact that their employee tried to convince me to go elsewhere. Since then I have filed a complaint through the BBB and safelite refuses to respond so I can not add to my complaint or get anywhere. All I wanted was my windshield chip fixed. Safelite sent another guy out to look at the chip and he said that the original guy didn't fill it right and there wasn't anything he could do and that he would talk to management. I then got an email from management saying the chip I was talking about was not there the first time the guy came out. So, they accused me of lying, but sent the guy back out to fix the chip. When he got here I pointed out the chip and said that this chip was the one that was there the first time and he told me the other guy said it wasn't. Which was a lie to cover up not fixing the chip. So, this guy said he was going to fix it. He then called me (after he left) saying it couldn't be fixed and he called management and got me a rate of $254 for a new windshield. When I went out to look at the chip I saw that whatever the guy did caused it to start to spider. So, they made it worse. I agreed to the cost of $254. The guy got here to replace it and said my quote was $287. I said that is not what I agreed to. He informed me that it was not quoted with taxes and fees. I then tried to call the 800 number and got the same management that is trying to take advantage of me and accused me of lying. When I asked to speak to someone hire up they said I needed to call the 800 number and I said I did and she continued to screw me around. I am so upset because I am a single mother working two jobs just to make ends meet and I wanted my chip fixed because I can't afford a new windshield and now that their guy is at fault one for not fixing it to begin with and second because they made it worse they are trying to cover up and accuse me of lying and trying to take advantage of me. Originally, I wanted my chip fixed. Now I believe the only way to make this right is to replace my windshield.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield

After making arrangements to have my windshield be replaced I was given a price by Safelite of $599. The sent several messages reminding me of my appointment today at 10 am. While driving to my appointment I get a call from them telling me they had given me the wrong price. Instead of $599 it would be $1100. I told them to cancel the appointment. I found another place to do it for $599. To hell with Safelite! I'll never use them again!

Safelite AutoGlass Safety and airbag sensors going off, chipped pcm, windshield wipers on wrong, overhead rear view window loose button

My Pristine car went in to have a cracked windshield replaced. My husband sat there with it for over 5 hours when originally told 3 hours. He was given the bill, and told the delay was due to Recalibrating the windshield. No technician came and got him, and was told the car was waiting for him. He got in the car which was left running with no one around, and he immediately noticed the air bag light was on. He drove out of the parking lot, turned it off, and immediately restarted it seeing if that would reset the sensor. It did not. He immediately contacted the Manager who was at that time "in a meeting. "
Upon getting the car home, he noticed the wipers on incorrect, the rear view window buttons not secured in place, and when he shut the car off saw the chip in the PCM.
No response ever came from the Pine Brook Shop, so the following morning I contacted my insurance company. They had not received the bill but gave me the Safelite customer care center. I immediately called the center and was given a case number and a contact person. Again no one directly connected to the Pine Brook Shop ever reached out. When we were finally able to get manager #2, he said they didn't do anything and he had no idea what we meant. He did offer to have the car looked at again but said even if the sensor is going off they don't have Equipment to repair it.
Safelite customer care insisted that we have it looked at by either the dealer or our mechanic. We were assured if either could determine the sensor was on because of their technician, they would pay to make it right again. Well it was determined by a master mechanic that not only were the air bags sensors not working, other safety sensors were not working because of what the technician did, and did not have the correct equipment to correct the sensor problem. My mechanic was also able to do the windshield wipers at no charge but he did not do the rear view window loose part and he is unable to do a PCM. That HAS to be done through a dealer. He did however explain how a tool was dropped and chipped the unit while they were working on the overhead unit. Once this was proven to be Safelite's responsibility, they changed their story.
So we are out the price of getting the car fixed and safe, being now told to put it through insurance, and no permission to seek a dealer that can fix the chipped PCM Screen .
Through this ordeal customer care has tried to work with this shop but only to have what he has done ignored, or denied. We need for this to end. We need our money back for getting the car fixed that the technician recklessly worked on, and we need the other 2 issues fixed ASAP. This chip must be fixed before the cold of winter as it may cause the entire screen to crack.
Please advise what we have to do in order to get the money back to fix Safelite's damage. Photos were taken, phone calls, and technician comments were documented, and this must be made right.
If Safelite can not fix the windshields if certain high end vehicles, then they need to tell the customer so qualified technicians can perform the service. No one should drive a pristine, flawless vehicle in, and have a damaged unsafe one returned to them. The party responsible(Safelite) need to make this right.

Safelite AutoGlass The windshield installed is defective

After only 5 weeks and the mildest winter in the Pocono Mountains ever my windshield is litered with what looks like small cracks.
I bought this car in May of 2019, drove over 30K since that date and had nothing like that in my windshield when it had to be replaced because a rock hit my van. I paid for this out of pocket on recommendation from a co-worker.
In addition to the cracks the car is very noisy inside, no wind is coming in but it much louder than my previous windshield allowed for. Some of the cracks are very high and they are fairly uniform across the windshield .
I scheduled a warranty repair, went to the shop, they told me while they heard the noise on the test drive, the cracks were a result of rocks on the road? ? I completely disagreed, I called again and spoke to someone at safelite regarding the windshield, she stated that she heard of defects like this and re-scheduled my warranty repair, she said she would speak to Dave the manager at the shop who first said my windshield was not defective? so today it was supposed to be replaced and they said Dave said no? Why is this possible? This is a bad piece of glass, it happens? Do we wait for it to get so many cracks that it shatters on me and my children while we are driving?

Safelite AutoGlass employment practices

I was an excellent employee of your company for two months. I did whatever I was told and had no performance complaints from customers or management. Unfortunately, just before my 60 days rolled around, I had to take someone to court for domestic violence. My immediate supervisor suggested a Voluntary Resignation, which I made the mistake of signing. She seemed to have good intentions but I shouldn't have believed them. I was suffering from PTSD at the time, which I made clear to her. I got the Voluntary Resignation on October 4th.

By late October, I was feeling better and ready to get back to work. I was looking forward to being part of Safelite. I believed in the Safelite Spirit. Not anymore. The way I was treated by middle management in your Hiawatha branch was despicable. Someone from Columbus called me and said to come in to sign rehiring papers. An interview would not be necessary. Just sign the papers, you'll be put back into a training class, and I was a good sport about this. We can always learn more. I even accepted being paid a dollar an hour less than I had earned the first time. My trainer told me that as long as I followed the expectations that were set, I would be respected and treated well at Safelite. Unfortunately, he was wrong and I had to find that out the hard way.

On November 1rst, I headed into the Hiawatha branch ready to sign the papers and be rescheduled as I was told would happen over the phone by a recruiter. You record those conversations, right? You claim to do so. I decided to head into Hiawatha early to sign my rehire papers, as I was told on the phone by Safelite Corporate that I'd be doing. This is where my day took a significant downturn. My appointment was at 1, but I thought I'd show up early. Why not get a jump on the day?

The hiring manager ushered me into a little room. She couldn't understand why they weren't just bringing me back and were making me go through training again, as well as wanting to pay me a dollar less than I'd worked my way up to while there the first time. They acted as if I had never worked there.

My supervisor, Brandy Hedgman, had given me a Voluntary Resignation, which I took so that I could deal with the Domestic Violence Trial in District Court where I was the Plaintiff and where I was navigating the legal system for the first time on my own. I was honest with them. My immediate Supervisor was compassionate and suggested this break, saying I could certainly return when I was ready.

She may have had good intentions, but Safelite did not. As the hiring manager was filling out the forms for my new schedule, her boss burst into the room and started berating me for not having come prepared for an interview. Excuse me? The recruiter on the phone said there would be no interview. It wouldn't be necessary. I made the mistake of believing her. The hiring manager's boss burst in and took over the meeting, yelling at me for not coming dressed for an interview despite the fact that I was told that this WASN'T to be an interview. "Every day is an interview", she sneered. So much for work/life balance and boundaries. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. I took what that company said to me at face value and trusted them. We all know how naive that is. Employees are nothing but numbers to be exploited in the eyes of Safelite, and they made that very plain. They told me to leave, saying that they would call me. I knew better than to believe them.

So how about this, maybe be up front with potential hires. Don't mislead them. You already have enough problems in the sate of MN with misleading customers.

Safelite AutoGlass reimbursement of the windshield by subaru was not received by safelite autoglass

A few months ago I received a partial reimbursement for my windshield replacement. It included a full value windshield and labor, but did not include the propriety windshield "EyeSight" recalibration for my Subaru Forester.

Subaru windshield replacement requires EyeSight recalibration after the windshield in replace with their OEM material. A Subaru service representative told me that the EyeSight camera's warranty would be void if not calibrated by their propitiatory equipment.
Allstate did not tell me to go through there windshield company (Safelite) first but to submit a claim afterwards. Safelite insist that they must do the calibration but Subaru has the exact equipment and I did not want to void their warranty.

I've been waiting for Safelite to refund but as of now there has been no respond.

Allstate Policy number: [protected]
Referral number: 275074

Please let me know what actions if any I can now take.
Thank you,

Randy Hurst

I had a 1 year old vehicle and wanted a couple rock dings repaired. They said they could do it. The person that came out had a new windshield. He said they do not repair but replace. These marks were very small and I decided to just live with it. Before I knew it, he had a steel pry-bar breaking my windshield so he could replaced it. Stay away from them and take it to the dealer. Then they are responsible for the windshield quality. I ended up with a 1 year old vehicle with an aftermarket windshield.

I reported this to USAA. I do not know the outcome but they were pi$$ed.

Safelite AutoGlass additional expense due to technicians shortcut

I'm resending this complaint with all the photos as evidence. Mr Ferstl, Justin.J from the local office could not see my point and was not able to help in any way. So, ... I had my truck service by Safelite (Ref # 589633) where tech was to replace windsheild...according to Mr. Ferstl, Justin.J and according to service techs at Stingray Chevrolet dealership the "cowl" on this vehicle needs to be removed to properly replace the windshield. Well my point is that according to the before (color photo) and after(grey photo) pics (submitted) it clearly shows that the cowl was never touched (plus I was there and saw he did not remove it) and if he did remove it as per requirement and per Mr Ferstl, Justin.J then the tech reinstalled it incorrectly. Either way according to dealership invioce (also submitted )all that needed to be done was to install the cowl correctly. Obviously your technician's "short cut" did not allow him to correctly finish the job. I'm just trying to claim a refund for the undue expense of having the dealership finish the windsheild replacement by properly reinstalling the cowl for me. Again, there was no broken piece anywhere that needed repair only lack of following procedure.

Safelite AutoGlass defective windshield installed/rear view console damaged

On 8/9/19, safelite mobile install van came to my home to replace the windshield in my 2018 cadillac escalade esv. After the mobile tech installed the windshield, he informed me that re-calibration was needed for my rearview mirror since it has rain sensors, front camera and auto dimming features in it. He stated he does not have the machine to do the calibration but will go meet up with another van to get it and return to do the calibration within an hour or so.
3 hours went by and the tech did not return and he did not call back to say he wasn't coming back. I drove the truck late that night and when I hit a bump my entire rearview console fell off the glass and hit the dashboard! I took the truck into a safelite location first thing the next morning and they informed me that the new windshield that they installed is defective and it would take approx. 5 days to get another one. And they were not able to do anything about the fallen rearview mirror due to the defective windshield. So to make this long story short….. I ended up taking the truck to my cadillac dealer to get an oem windshield and rearview console had to be replaced. No one from safelite has called to speak to me about this issue even after numerous calls to their customer service dept! I will never use safelite auto glass again and I will never recommend anyone to use this company!

Safelite AutoGlass customer service and scheduling

I called the Safelite location in Conyers, Georgia on August 14, 2019 at 8:20 am to schedule an appointment to get my drivers door window replaced on a 2008 Nissan Titan after someone had broken it out. They gave me an appointment window for that day between 1 pm and 6 pm. I received the confirmation email for the appointment and an email letting me know who the technician would be. I received a call from the technician at 1:15 pm letting me know that their are 4 cars ahead of me, but he would get to me today. After that phone call, I didn't hear from the technician again until 8 pm that evening. Needless to say, I was upset and disgusted. I needed my window replaced that day because I was flying out the next morning. If the technician was not going to be able to do the job, I would have appreciated a phone call a lot sooner in order to find someone else that could have installed the window. I feel this was piss poor customer service and I hope this type of behavior is not a representation of Safelite Corporation business practices. I'm very dissatisfied with your customer service that I didn't receive.

Sincerely

George Burnett

Safelite AutoGlass windshield/wipers

I decided to have a windshield put in my elderly moms car and the day they were coming out 6/19 I left the cash as per the quote with her. They ended up charging her more and selling her windshield wipers and charging her tax twice. I am furious they took advantage of her. She asked for a receipt and he said he only emails his receipts and I have yet to receive it. I am sure he pocketed the extra taxes charged and I want my elderly mom to get her money back for the charges that he ripped her off. The service was put under my phone number [protected] and it was for a 2005 Mazda Tribute. The service address was 1408 Pennell Road, Brodheadsville, PA. 18322. I believe the gentleman's name was Marlo or something like that a bald gentlemen as they sent a picture. I want my receipt for the services and I want the money back for the double taxes and wipers he forced her into getting. I was already asked about the wipers and declined the service. He took advantage of a 86 year old senior and I am furious and want restitution immediately. Thank you.
