Please note this should not be paid. Amanda Lamprecht from Internal audit has been trying to get SABC to close accounts [protected] and [protected] since 2016 as there has never been TV's at these sites.

Affidavits were done and sent through to SABC and final amounts were paid 14 October 2016 for amounts of R3602.00 ([protected]) and R4422 ([protected]) and these accounts still have been closed. Last year it was Nudebt that was contacting us and all the details were sent through to them to Khahlela Gulele ([protected]@nudebt.co.za) on 13 November 2017.

Dispute on bill of R823.
I have double paid my account in April 2016. Last year I went to pay my TV licence at hi fi Corp and have told my balance is R0. So I went in in April May June and July and have been told there is a 0 balance. The lady gave me the sabc call center n number to contact you to find out more about my bill. I did call and the agent that assisted me told me I paid twice in 2016 and therefore there is nothing outstanding. Now I received an SMS stating I owe R820. I try calling and the 1st time the agent states that I owe R820 so I did explain to her about the double payment so she said I must hold on while she checks but then the call was dropped I did try many times to call but I hold on over 10 minutes listening to the I've. Today I also called and after an agent answered after 15 minutes she said that will transfer me to the domestic section and I was back on the I've for almost another 15 minutes and I dropped the call. Can someone pls contact me regarding this matter so I can pay the correct amount due

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] alleged outstanding tv licence fees on unknown account.

Dear Sir/Madam

We are pestered just about every day by the Call Centre of some Debt Collectors for outstanding TV Licence Fees of R6085.85 allegedly owed by my wife Mrs R. Palm. Every day a different person contact us and we then must repeat the same story that we are married for 55 years, we never lived apart during that time and that the TV licence has been in my name ever since we bought our first television set in the 1970`s. My wife never had reason to buy a TV licence in her name. Through all the years we only used one television set at a time, so why would we need another TV licence in her name? If anybody took out a TV licence in her name it is fraud. Our TV licence in my name is fully paid up and my details are as follows: Dennis Palm TV Licence No. [protected] Tel. [protected] /[protected] Email. [protected]@gmail.com.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv licence/ mbd debt collectors

Good day,

I receive calls from MBD attorney's almost every week and SMSes saying that SABC has handed me over to them for overdue TV license. They don't even say when it had to be paid in by and I them for an invoice/statement as I have never received such thing from SABC or even no reminder to say that I need to pay how much for the TV Licence. I totally forgot as this is an annual payment. Also, we don't even watch SABC as their programs are boring. I don't even own an aerial to receive SABC reception.

So, I am not sure exactly why you are forced to pay TV license when you don't use their services? Should I pay simply because I own a Television which I paid for and paid tax on? The law needs to be changed in this regard in my opinion. The other thing is that they just call you out of the blue with a total of how much you owe them and that the account has been handed over but before that there was no Statements/Invoices sent for the amount that needs to be paid. How else will you pay for something if there is no Invoice or Statement. Are they scheming the public for more money to keep in their pockets. All they give is a licence number. Where is the actual TV Licence Card. We pay too much to not get anything. All they do is repeat programmes, demand money, hand people over and get debt collectors to harass you & be rude without proof that you ever received a Statement/Invoice for you to settle the account.

I will be making a payments monthly to settle this and then after that I will seek legal assistance as this must be fraud. Before you pay for something, in any store or by RIGHT, there must be a RECEIPT/INVOICE to show the charge. Just receiving phone calls from debt collection with a total of how much is outstanding, that surely must be illegal. How do I know what I am paying for? What if I pay for someone else's debt or vacation? How will ever know that for sure.

I will be putting seeking advice from the Ombudsman regarding this or lawyers that can assist.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] overcharge r7304.40 - tv licence no:[protected]

I was advised that I have an amount of R7304.4 outstanding from before 2009. I have provided affidavits etc confirming that I was only16 at the time that this licence is outstanding, and this cannot be valid, as I was under age to apply for TV licence / or to purchase a TV.
I have sent many emails asking for an update . Through the years I have always kept a clean credit record and this issue is severely effecting my rating and my mental state.
I will be looking into my legal options with medical damages should this not be resolved immediately. Further to the below, I am also looking at asking carte blanche to investigate the SABC cooperation due to this absurd amounts that suddenly becoming owing.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv license

[protected] SW Salomon ID [protected] M Salomon [protected]

Ticket number [protected]

SW Salomon was in possession of a tv license till we cancelled it as we did not have one. In 2002 I think I took out a new license and paid it annually until 2015. We were informed in May 2016 that SW Salomon owes a huge amount in licence fees and after explaining the situation the SABS then asked for our Mariage certificate in June 2016 I send it immediately. When attempting to renew my license M Salomon in Aug 2016 I was not able to as they combined the accounts and transferred a very small amount of my license fees to my husband SW account. I queried it. I then wrote another email complaining about it on the 31st of July 2017 and again on the 16th of March 2018. If they want to combine the accounts then they should transfer all payments to SW account At this stage they are forcing me M Salomon to be illegal and not pay my license

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] sabc license penalties

To the manager:

please find the payment for 2016 and 2017 for the tv licence.

My complaint however lies with the fact that we have not received any statements via post or email for the whole duration.

If a statement landed on my desk whether it was by post of email it would have been paid!

we received a sms of the outstanding amount and i called in to enquire. I asked for a statement and had to call back again. No feedback.

Then i had to browse your website and register to finally have a statement of sort to see what i will be paying and what for.

I cannot be held liable for the penalties if i do not receive statements. I have searched the emails and not even a advertisement pops up for the sabc on the email account.

If it came by post we would have received it as nothing reaches us by the postal services due to their negligiance.

Find the payment for the outstanding licensing: 530.00

feedback will be appreciated.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv licence

tv licence no: [protected] charmaine janse van rensburg.
Please see attached Proof of Payment made 24/11/2017 at Makro Carnival in Brakpan.
I purchased a new TV on 24/11/2017 and at same time paid the renewal of my TV Licence at the pay point when completing the purchase. (R265.00) I have contacted them telephonically as well as send emails to 'tvlic. [protected]@sabc.co.za'on 17/01/2018, 25/01/2018, 2018/02/19 and a last time on 05/03/2018. Everytime I send a copy of my purchase till slip with these emails stating clearly the TV Licence amount as well and keep requesting that they rectify and send this through to the relevant department to correctly reflect the payment and remove all penalties & interest as this was paid before the renewal date of 2017/12/31.
Cell no: [protected] email [protected]@outlook.com
But still I keep getting sms`s stating that the amount is still outstanding I checked and from January 2018 till 05/03/2018 no action has been taken as yet to rectify this error, makro is stated as one of the paypoints on sabc website. I do not understand how it can be so difficult to do a journal and allocate the money paid to my account, I will not be held accountable for this error as it has been paid 24/11/2017 before the due date of 31/12/2017. This is unacceptable that not one of the people working there gets back to their customers, I want this account to be rectified the correct payment amount allocated to my account and the reversal of all penalties & interest amounts that has accumulated since their incompetence to allocate the payment correctly.
Rectify this with immediate effect.

Regards,
Charmaine Janse van Rensburg

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv licence paid monthly not accepted by tv retailers

My name is Hannelie Potgieter and my license number is [protected]. I have been paying my TV licence monthly by debit order for many years now and the last payment was debited on 20 Feb 2018.

Today I wanted to purchase a new television, but two stores refused to sell me a television, because the system informed them that there is an outstanding balance on my licence. The more I tried to explained that the balance reduces every month with every payment I make, the less they seemed to be willing to listen.

I find it ridiculous that the SABC expects the public to pay for TV licences and offer the option to pay it on a monthly basis, but then the licence is not acceptable when a person wants to purchase a TV.

They should make special allowances for those customers. I spent two hours in three different shops, before a sales person in the 3rd shop went the extra mile to contact the SABC and the problem was sorted.

The SABC should make it clear to retailers what process to follow, when encountering a situation like mine. It was very upsetting knowing that I'm a law abiding citizen whose has been paying my licence religiously every month for all these years and in doing so paying more that those licence holders who pay in a lump sum, but I get penalised like this for it like this.

Kind regards
Hannelie

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] handed to attorneys

ID: [protected]
TV license no. - [protected]

Good day,

I received a call from MBD attorney's last night saying that SABC has handed me over to them for overdue TV license. They say that it had to be paid in September 2017 and I remember getting a reminder but then I forgot and I got no other correspondence or phone calls from them to remind me again. I totally forgot as this is an annual payment. Also, we don't even watch SABC and only use Netflix or the Internet for our entertainment. I don't even own an aerial to receive SABC reception.

So, I am not sure exactly why you are forced to pay TV license when you don't use their services? Should I pay simply becaue I own a Television which I paid for and paid tax on? The law needs to be changed in this regard in my opinion.

I will be making a payment today and then I will follow up with you about clearing my ITC record for this judgement you have placed on my name. If this affects my record in any way then I will seek legal assistance.

I have also read on Legal Talk on Facebook that it is unlawful for the SABC to send your account to a debt collection agency and placing such judgements on your record.

I will be putting this on Social Media and HelloPeter today so that South Africa can know how we are being scammed.

Thank you all.
